托福綜合寫作與獨立寫作的異同點

綜合作文顧名思義，重點在于考察一個人閱讀和聽力能力相結合，這里考察的重點不再側重于寫作能力本身，寫作只是一個載體，是展示你閱讀和聽力能力的一個載體。因此，寫作固然重要，但是更重要的是把閱讀和聽力兩個基礎性的問題解決，只有這兩個問題解決之后，我們才能談作文本身的問題。因此，如果一個人的綜合作文分數不高，第一個想的問題，應該是自己的閱讀和聽力的分數，而不是作文分數本身。

而獨立作文側重于考察寫作本身的能力，這里已經排除掉了閱讀和聽力的干擾。當然，你也可以說，作文題目也考查了閱讀的能力，可是，如果題目都讀不懂的話，閱讀基本上也希望不大了。但是在這里也必須澄清一個誤區，也許是因為GRE作文的影響，當然也有可能是因為中國傳統教育體系的影響，總是想追求最好的回答方式。因此很多人都是在討論，到底是3段支持好一點，還是2段支持1段中立，抑或是2段支持1段反對更好一點。其實這樣的問題，在GRE考試之中討論一下還有意義，但是在托福考試中進行討論，是完全沒有意義的。

因為托福考試，看的是你駕馭語言的能力，換句話說，也就是看你是否能清晰準確的把話說清楚，而根本不注重你思維的嚴密程度。因此這樣的問題，其實就像是一個直立的雞蛋，到底是為什么而倒下，是因為桌子動，是因為風吹動，還是因為重心本身就不穩，這重要么?這根本就不重要，反正雞蛋還是倒了。

但是在這里面，還必須點出，我們對于托福作文認識的一個很大的誤區，托福作文并不是說，單詞拼寫正確，語法沒有錯誤，就是好作文了。優秀的，或者說滿分的托福作文不僅要能做到用詞準確，而且還必須做到，用詞多樣，用詞準確，句式多樣，詞能傳神之功效。

舉點例子。

第一、用詞多樣，一句很短的話。so they need a good way to have a good rest，里面就出現了2個good，這就是用詞不夠多樣，這里如果能把第一個good改為best，這里就不會出現用詞重復的問題了。

第二、用詞準確，and connect with other partners，這里最后一個單詞用partners固然無可厚非，但是如果用co-這個詞根加上worker造出了coworker，一同工作的人，顯然更為貼切。

第三、句式多樣，中國學生一直是很習慣的就寫出3種句子，一是簡單句，二是賓語從句，三是定語從句。但是英語(論壇)之中常出現的非謂語動詞和短暫停頓，確實常常缺失，這也就是為什么要特地對中國學生強調句式多樣。

第四、詞能傳神。No, you taught me to navigate people's minds but after whathappened。navigate一詞用的極為到位，如果考友們自己寫的話，很有可能也就用個affect或者manipulate之流的詞匯，但是遠不及navigate“駕馭，駕駛”來得形象。navigate更巧調出“被人操縱”之意，此詞畫面感極強
