小學英語口語訓練初探

英語,與其說是一門學科,倒不如說是一種語言。所以,學好英語的關鍵和檢查英語能力的標準都應該是以口語為主。但是,我們廣大的英語教師往往注重的是學生的考試能力、閱讀能力、書面能力等等的培養,而忽視了口語的訓練。其實,學生如果不能夠熟練、流利地運用英語進行交談,那么即使書面能力再優秀,卷面成績再高,我們也不能說學生就已經掌握好英語這門語言。因此,我認為有必要訓練好口語。

如何訓練學生的口語呢?我認為要做到以下幾點。

一、走出誤區,更新觀念

對于英語,無論是教的,還是學的,目的都是為了考試,英語教師評價一個學生學習英語的好壞是考試的成績。因此,我們教的都是“啞巴”英語。所以,我們要想教好英語,首先是走出誤區。抓住小學生對新鮮事物的好奇心理,鼓勵他們大膽地、大聲地讀說英語。就像李陽的《瘋狂英語》里說的:不要在意別人的譏笑,大聲地說英語。這樣既能鍛煉自己的膽量,克服對英語的心里障礙,又能鍛煉整個舌頭的靈活性。所以,英語口語的訓練,一定要讓學生“開口”。

二、聽說結合,以聽促說

口語教學的目的是培養學生的口頭表達能力,而大部分學生 1

存在的問題是英語聽說能力差,尤其是聽力差。因此,很有必要有針對性地彌補這一缺陷,設法提高學生的聽、說能力,只有這樣,才能更好地掌握好這門語言。

聽和說是密切聯系的。聽是理解和吸收信息的活動,說是表達思想和傳遞信息的交際過程。聽是說的基礎,聽懂了,才能說。也就是說,聽是理解、吸收,是活用的基礎,沒有理解和吸收,就不可能達到活用,談不上表達。同樣道理,沒有表達和活用,理解和吸收能力也得不到鞏固和發展。一句話,如果你都聽不懂別人在說什么,又怎能跟人家說些什么呢?

所以,“以聽促說”是指以聽帶動說,在聽的基礎上提高說的能力。因此,我們可以用好小學英語(PEP)教材里的“story time”、TPR活動里“listen,look and guess”、“listen and point”、“listen and do”以及《活動手冊》等等資料,來提高學生的聽力。

三、創造條件,靈活運用

口語訓練切忌對一些課文瞎背,而不知道靈活運用,更不會用自己的話來描述。因此,我們教師要利用小學生模仿性高、接受能力強的特點,盡量創設良好的語言環境。那么學生能在濃厚的英語氛圍中交流,效果自然好了。如加上恰當的方法,靈活運用,更是事半功倍。利用教材的各種資源,我個人認為可以運用以下幾種方法來訓練學生的口語。

1、開展英語角,進行Free talk

開展英語角,進行Free talk。這是創設環境的一個范疇。主要就是為學生提供一個用英語交流的平臺,盡量讓學生開口說英語。目標不是學生能說多少,對與錯也不是主要,關鍵是要開口去說。切記,一開始不要這要求那強調的,如語法、語調什么的,這樣,會嚇了學生,得不償失。

如在教完小學英語三年級(PEP)下冊的Unit2(My family)、Unit3(How many?)時,就可以開一次Free talk。利用學過的句型(如:How many、Who is this?……)、準備好的道具(如:照片、圖畫、頭飾)和提示一些關鍵詞等。可以分組Free talk、自由Free talk等。只要學生開口說英語了,就應該給予肯定。使學生在這種氛圍下,慢慢養成說英語的習慣。

2、引導復述,鍛煉口語

英語教學中,復述是一個重要的環節。引導學生對所學內容進行復述,既能有效地讓所學內容在腦海里情景再現,達到鞏固的效果,又能把語言知識轉化為語言技能,也就是口語的表達能力。因為復述不是單一的背誦課文,還可以加上自己的理解。所以。能使學生逐步學會用自己的話來描述。那么口頭的表達能力自然就會加強。

在引導學生復述時,有很多方法可以利用。如:利用簡筆畫、掛圖復述法;利用錄音機復述法;利用電教多媒體復述法;利用關鍵詞語復述法;利用手勢提示復述法;按照空間、時間、線索復述法等等。如在教完三年級(PEP)下冊Unit One(Welcome back

to school)時,可以通過關鍵詞:have、from、friend、welcome……等單詞,引導學生進行復述,鼓勵學生在復述的時候,可以加上以前所學的交際用語。這樣,既能讓學生學會介紹他人及做自我介紹,又能復習以前的熟語,更重要的是,學生在復述時,由于單詞量的增多、句型的加長,開口說英語的信心也大了。

3、設計游戲,以玩帶講

游戲,有時也是很好的口語訓練方法。愛玩愛鬧是學生的天性。而游戲可以使學生的心情放松,減弱對英語的畏難情緒。學生可以在游戲中不知不覺地交流、會話。

在設計游戲活動時,教師可以利用教材里的Let’s play,或自己設計游戲。如在三年級上冊(PEP)的Unit4(We love animal)時,我們可以采用“Can you guess?”的游戲,把動物玩具放在口袋里讓學生猜。并用What is in it?、Can you guess?、It is a……、Look,I have a……等句型來進行交談。還可以采用Pass the message(傳話)游戲,利用“T have a dog、a duck……句型,讓學生一個一個地傳下去,逐漸增多。從而達到開口講英語的目的。

總之,人在小的時候,學習語言特別快。我們教師應該抓住這一特點,想盡千方百計,幫助學生說好英語。英語是世界上最實用的語言之一,未來,英語的作用將越來越大。在這種情況下,我們總不能把學生教得要拿一枝筆跟人家交流英語吧?這和“啞巴”有什么區別呢?
