§3三垂線定理

一、復(fù)習(xí)要點(diǎn)

1.三垂線定理及其逆定理是解決垂直問題的重要工具.運(yùn)用三垂線定理及其逆定理的規(guī)律為:確定平面→作出垂線→找到斜線→聯(lián)成射影→查面內(nèi)線;其關(guān)鍵是確定平面及平面的垂線.

2.本節(jié)的重點(diǎn)是三垂線定理的應(yīng)用.用于:

①立體幾何的計算問題,如求空間的一點(diǎn)到平面內(nèi)的某一直線的距離,求不在同一平面內(nèi)的兩條平行直線間的距離,求兩條異面直線所成的角等;

②立體幾何的證明問題,如線線垂直、線面垂直、面面垂直等;

③二面角問題,主要是構(gòu)作二面角的平面角.

3.結(jié)合《基礎(chǔ)復(fù)習(xí)講練測》第九章的“三垂線定理”一節(jié),體會對于“非標(biāo)準(zhǔn)”位置運(yùn)用定理的靈活性.

二、例題講解

例1 如圖7-20,在四棱錐P-ABCD中,底面ABCD是正方形,邊長AB=a,且PD=a,PA=PC=

(1)求證:PD⊥平面ABCD;

(2)求異面直線PB與AC所成角的大小;

(3)求二面角A-PB-D的大小.

講解:欲證PD⊥平面ABCD,只需證PD垂直于平面ABCD內(nèi)的兩條相交直線.而題設(shè)中的已知量都是線段的長,故可考慮用勾股定理的逆定理.

求異面直線PB與AC所成的角,我們應(yīng)首先考慮它們是否具有特殊關(guān)系——垂直.

欲求二面角A-PB-D的大小,首先作出它的平面角,當(dāng)然也可以利用面積射影定理計算.

(1)證明略.

(2)連結(jié)BD.∵ABCD是正方形,∴BD⊥AC,又PD⊥平面ABCD,∴BD是PB在平面ABCD上的射影,∴由三垂線定理得PB⊥AC,故異面直線PB與AC所成的角為90°.

(3)設(shè)AC交BD于O.∵AC⊥BD,AC⊥PD,∴AC⊥平面PBD.作OE⊥PB于E,連結(jié)AE,則由三垂線定理知AE⊥PB.∴∠AEO為二面角A-PB-D的平面角,容易求得∠AEO=60°.

例2 如圖7-21,在矩形ABCD中,已知AB=1,BC=a,PA⊥平面ABCD,且PA=1.

(1)在BC邊上是否存在點(diǎn)Q,使得PQ⊥QD?并說明理由;

(2)若BC邊上有且僅有一個點(diǎn)Q,使PQ⊥QD,試求AD與平面PDQ所成角的正弦.

講解:本例第(1)問是一道“是否存在型”探索性問題.首先假設(shè)存在點(diǎn)Q,使得PQ⊥QD,然后根據(jù)這個假設(shè)進(jìn)行正確的推理和驗證.若能找出點(diǎn)Q在BC上的位置,說明存在,否則就不存在.

第(2)小題,可結(jié)合(1)中的結(jié)論找出線面角,通過解三角形求得其值.

(1)假設(shè)存在點(diǎn)Q,使得PQ⊥QD.

∵ PA⊥平面ABCD,∴ QD⊥AQ.

設(shè)BQ=x,則QC=a-x.

由AD2=AQ2+QD2,得

a=1+x+(a-x)+1,即x2-ax+1=0.①

其判別式為Δ=a-4.

∴ 當(dāng)a=2時,Δ=0,方程①有一解,即存在一個點(diǎn)Q,使PQ⊥QD;

當(dāng)0<a<2時,Δ<0,方程①無實根,即不存在點(diǎn)Q,使得PQ⊥QD.

(2)當(dāng)BC邊上僅有一個點(diǎn)Q,使得PQ⊥QD時,可知BC=2,Q為BC的中點(diǎn).

∵ DQ⊥AQ,DQ⊥PQ,∴平面PDQ⊥平面PAQ.

過A作AE⊥PQ,垂足為E,則AE⊥平面PDQ,故∠ADE為AD和平面PDQ所成的角.

在Rt△PAQ中,AE=PA·AQ/PQ=(1·

在Rt△AED中,sin∠ADE=(AE/AD)=(/)=(/6).

將點(diǎn)的存在性問題轉(zhuǎn)化為方程根的討論問題來處理,思路顯得自然、流暢,方法獨(dú)特而簡捷.

例3如圖7-22,在斜三棱柱ABC-A1B1C1中,已知側(cè)面BCC1B1為矩形,側(cè)棱與底面成30°角,底面三角形ABC的面積是截面A1BC的面積的2倍,求二面角A-BC-A1的大小.

講解:從BCC1B1為矩形入手,由于BB1⊥BC,從而BC⊥AA1,這不僅為應(yīng)用三垂線定理創(chuàng)設(shè)了條件,也為作出二面角的平面角奠定了基礎(chǔ).解題的關(guān)鍵在于過A1作A1O⊥平面ABC,其他的已知條件便可以順理成章地加以應(yīng)用.

∵ BCC1B1是矩形,∴ BC⊥B1B.

又B1B∥AA1,∴ BC⊥AA1.

作A1O⊥平面ABC,垂足為O,連AO交BC于D,根據(jù)三垂線定理的逆定理可得BC⊥AD.連A1D,再根據(jù)三垂線定理可得BC⊥A1D.

 ∴ ∠A1DA是所求二面角的平面角,且∠A1AD是側(cè)棱與底面所成的角,∠A1AD=30°.又S△ABC=2S△A1BC,∴(1/2)BC·AD=2·(1/2)BC·A1D,∴ AD=2A1D.

在△ADA1中,(A1D/sin30°)=(AD/sin∠AA1D),可得sin∠AA1D=1.

∴ ∠AA1D=90°,∴∠A1DA=60°.

故二面角A-BC-A1為60°.
