凡勃倫的制度經濟學

我們這幾天都發現學校外面的小吃街正在加緊的建設，相信建好之后會比以前好多了，也規范了我們學校交通主干道旁小攤販的經營和管理。針對小攤販的管理，這始終是我們城市城管的老大難，現在無論是鬧事區或者居民區，小攤販亂擺設的問題依舊嚴峻，嚴重影響市容和市民生活。我們的城管應如何處理，小攤販如何經營，兩者矛盾如何解決，后面我們用凡勃倫的經濟學觀點來分析。

托斯丹·邦德·凡勃倫（Thorstein B Veblen,1857—1929）偉大的美國經濟學巨匠、制度經濟學鼻祖。凡勃侖是作為一個辛辣的社會批評家而為一般公眾所知的，他這一風格的代表作是《有閑階級論》一書。但從職業上說，他是個經濟學家，是政治經濟學雜志的第一主編，并在經濟學的方法論問題上有廣泛著述。制度經濟學——幾十年來的一個重要學派，是凡勃侖和約翰·R·康芒斯（John R.Commons）創立的。

下面我們了解一下什么是制度經濟學。

制度經濟學是把制度作為研究對象的一門經濟學分支。它研究制度對于經濟發展的影響以及經濟發展如何影響制度的演變。制度經濟學的分支或領域不盡相同，有著共同的研究對象——制度本身的產生、演變及制度與經濟活動的關系，或傾向于制度與分配的關系，或傾向于制度與經濟增長、資源配臵的關系。事實上，所有的制度都是關于產權的制度

制度經濟學的最初起源可追溯到19世紀40年代，以F·李斯特為先驅的德國歷史學派。歷史學派反對英國古典學派運用的抽象、演繹的自然主義方法，而主張運用具體的實證的歷史主義方法，強調從歷史實際情況出發，強調經濟生活中的國民性和歷史發展階段的特征。19世紀末20世紀初，在美國以T·凡勃倫、J·R·康芒斯、W·C·米切爾等為代表，形成了制度經濟學派別。盡管制度學派并不是一個嚴格的、內部觀點統一的經濟學派別。但制度學派的經濟學家們，基本上都重視對非市場因素的分析，諸如制度因素、法律因素、歷史因素、社會和倫理因素等，其中尤以制度因素為甚，強調這些非市場因素是影響社會經濟生活的主要因素。因此，他們以制度作為視角，研究“制度”和分析“制度因素”在社會經濟發展中的作用。這一研究方法論的核心在于，不是以任何客觀的指標來衡量經濟活動，而是立足于個人之

間的互動來理解經濟活動。因此，以制度為視角研究經濟問題，首先要求確立以人與人之間的關系作為研究的起點，而不是以人與物的關系作為起點。在他們看來，制度經濟學所研究的是活生生的、不確定的人，因而無法以一個確定的、總量的標準，對整個經濟活動作出安排。正如威廉姆森（Williamson）所說：研究視角的改變推動了諸如產業組織、勞動經濟學、經濟史、產權分析和比較體制等領域中實證和理論研究的結合——這種結合是有用的，并帶來了制度主義的復興。這是制度經濟學在方法論方面的一個顯著特點。

凡勃侖所倡導的制度經濟學，與它以后的一些變種有很大的不同，這部分地是凡勃侖給制度下的定義所致。凡勃侖認為制度不是組織結構，而是大多數人所共有的一些“固定的思維習慣”。它們是在給定的時間、地點占統治地位的一些“固定做法、習慣、行為準則、權力與財產原則”。有時候這些原則要與組織實體結合，但僅僅對組織的描述（就像以后的制度經濟學家所為）并不是對使它們有意義的一些基本社會和文化形態的進化進行分析。凡勃侖更傾向于分析，而不是描述。他還原模仿歷史學派的經濟學家，他認為，“根本不能稱歷史學派創造了一門科學，他們的目的不是進行理論研究工作”。而凡勃侖的目標是理論研究工作，然而，很久以后，制度經濟學家們卻陷入對某些特定結論的過分描述。

我們了解了制度經濟學，現在用此觀點來分析城管與攤販的博弈。

要想解決攤販經濟和城管之間的矛盾，關鍵應該從制度層面上解決攤販經濟的外部性。結合我國的國情，我們國家其實可以用分區域管理的辦法，首先對于嚴重影響市容的、會造成通行不便的區域，如主干道兩側、廣場和車站等，應該禁止在此區域擺攤占道；對于那些影響市容和妨礙行人較小的地方，應該在區城市管理部門的協助下，對攤位的規模、經營時間和經營范圍有一定的限制才能進行擺放攤位；對于那些像住宅區，社區等主要影響本轄區的居民的地方，應該把權力界定給社區，由社區和攤販進行協商，把外部性內部化。

假如根據上面的規定，首先解決了因產權界定不清晰引起的外部性無法內部化的現狀，其次，也解決了一些攤販的流動性，可以促使攤販在較為固定的地方集中進行經營。集中經營可以有效的解決對消費者損害所產生的外部性。對市場中的那些攤販，實行運營的過程中競爭淘汰制。另外，攤販之間的相互依賴還可以產生一定的規模經濟效應，也就是平均成本降低。規模經濟產生的因素包括共同利用相關的水源供應和電力供應等設施。至于消費者，同樣頁可以實現規模經濟，例如，在買菜的時候消費者通常要買好多樣，假如多種攤販在一起消費者就避免了東奔西走四處尋找，僅需在同一個地方就完全可以購買到需要的物品。

關于我國城管法律執法不規范等現象，地位不清的問題，建議根據對攤販經濟的區域加以管理，對城管也按區域進行劃分。至于那些命令禁止的區域，可以讓市屬的工商管理人員加以管理。對外部性影響較小的地方，可以讓區政府的工商管理人員加以管理。權力界定給社區的那些地點，應由街道從事管理。城管隊伍將從以前抓耗子的貓角色轉變為仲裁、協管服務、咨詢、的角色，由強行執法轉為僅指向少數無理取鬧者采取措施，這將在大大的緩解執法矛盾。

今晚，被音樂圈和大小文藝青年期待許多年的鮑勃〃迪倫北京演唱會終于要在工人體育館登場了。對于前去觀演的絕大多數人來說，這顯然不是一場普通的小長假后“壓軸娛樂”，當然更不是什么K歌大合唱之夜，大家一本正經的態度足以用“朝圣”二字概括。盡管無法預期所“朝拜”的那個流行文化圣人將會戴著怎樣的面具去演唱，即便是擁躉未必真正明白其面具背后的多重身份。

當然，我們也不能完全洞悉其神秘的軌跡，哪怕是迪倫的鐵桿歌迷，抑或是擁有無數張他的正式專輯以及Bootleg的人，也沒有人敢說自己懂得了謎樣的他。這種“不明白”除了因為這位年近七旬的老人具有豐富的人生體驗以及他天生低調的性格以外，還因為他在我們沒有親身經歷過的年代就已經被賦予了許多個縱橫交錯的標簽。他是搖滾歌手，他是和平斗士，他是詩人，他是“垮掉的一代”代言人……就像每個人心里有一個哈姆雷特一樣，我們也可以說，每一個聽過鮑勃〃迪倫聲音和故事的人，都完全可以拼湊出一個屬于自己的鮑勃〃迪倫。

演出是怎么成行的？

滾石樂隊、林肯公園和殺手樂隊的北京之行都因為種種原因而宣布告吹，這讓鮑勃〃迪倫的開唱在眾人眼里從開始就是一個讓人半信半疑的傳言。前年，音樂圈里瘋傳迪倫要在臺北和京滬開唱，后來被證實是個泡影。上海樂評人孫孟晉曾撰寫博客稱是因為臺灣某演出公司要的“轉手費太高”而未能成行，這使得迪倫的中國之行曾經一度被認為是“不可能完成的任務”。

3月3日，北京歌華萊恩文化體育發展有限公司通過微博宣布，70歲的鮑勃〃迪倫將于4月6日、8日分別在北京、上海舉辦中國演唱會，消息瞬間被轉發了上萬次。歌華公司總經理魏明表示，迪倫的演出從未在報批上出現任何問題，而和迪倫經紀公司的接觸也并沒有通過香港和臺灣的公司，整場演出都是歌華萊恩利用自己的海外資源促成。

消息一經發布，在媒體圈和搖滾樂圈都掀起了軒然大波，第一時間訂票的歌迷有不少，各家媒體也都認為迪倫的北京行是個“繞不開的選題”，上海一家報紙甚至把另一位鄉村歌王威利〃尼爾森的照片配以迪倫來華演出的稿子刊發，證明了國人對這位標志性的人物欠缺了解但又不得不作為議題去討論的尷尬。他看到了

鮑勃〃迪倫究竟是誰？所有的說法都把他捧上一個“里程碑”的高位，究竟該如何在他看似晦澀的歌詞中觸及他可被理解的實質？

要了解迪倫，首先必須沉下心思讓自己回到50年前的美國。對于當時的美國年輕人來說，他們有足夠的時間和金錢去享受父輩夢想中的“美國夢”，但豐富的物質生活卻帶來了精神的空虛，不少中產階級的年輕一代把目光投向了政治領域，積極參與反戰、民權、女權、環境保護等社會活動。在上世紀五十年代末反社會、古巴革命、民權運動和歐洲左派思潮影響下誕生的“垮掉的一代”的基礎上，形成了新一代的思潮。

這個時代背景也影響了當時的音樂創作者們，他們以紐約的格林威治村為平臺，寫了大量針貶時事并且充滿火藥味的“抗議歌曲”，讓流行音樂的娛樂功能，讓位于文學功能。鮑勃〃迪倫開始以翻唱老民歌和布魯斯起家，后來以領導者的語氣告訴聽眾“時代變了，未來屬于我們年輕人”。對于迪倫本人和他忠實的歌迷來說，領袖、斗士等“代言人”的身份只是他不斷剝離的身份而已，他對自己的真正定位是“60年代的行吟詩人和一個從逝去時代過來的詞語匠人”之類去社會化的身份。他征服了

被歌迷們最津津樂道的故事是他徹底對抗議民謠的背叛。出現在1965年新港民謠音樂節現場的迪倫，雖然依然還是在脖子上套了口琴架，保持著許多傳統美國民歌手的演出特色，但在他的身旁，卻出現了一支由吉他、貝斯和鼓組成的搖滾樂隊。當一曲暴烈的《Maggie’s Farm》結束后，現場歌迷發出了經久不息的噓聲。即使在此之后的很長一段時間里，歌迷們都難以忘記迪倫的離經叛道，以及對傳統民謠精神的背叛，為他取了個“猶大”的綽號。

從民謠到背叛民謠的搖滾樂，再到借助毒品的力量瘋狂巡演。1966年，迪倫在伍德斯托克附近出了一場差點要了他的命的車禍，此后的他又一次背叛了之前的自己，他結婚生子，讓自己回歸家庭并貼近神性，一頭扎進內心世界。同時他的音樂再次回歸鄉謠和情歌，火紅的60年代在他后來的音樂里，不過是一場沒做完的夢。年近七旬，迪倫又一次開始了他的巡演之路。當然你不可能從一場演唱會上窺視到一個人豐富的一生，甚至抱著“補課”的心態去看一個老人的吟唱也似乎有些太上綱上線，或許最好的對于他的觀看方式，就是只是把他當作一個吟游詩人，聽他哼唱那些在歲月里模糊的字句，而他的人生有多么重或是多么輕，答案依然在空中飄。

鮑勃〃迪倫對我來說不僅僅是在音樂上的意義，更多的是文化意義上的影響，用“教父”兩個字都不足以概括他的地位。他生而逢時，在那個風起云涌的上世紀六十年代影響了千百萬人，1994年的伍德斯托克音樂節就開始紀念他了，現在又過去了17年。他的歌也是我心中的大愛，特別喜歡《敲響天堂之門》(Knockin on heaven's door)，好多個翻唱版本都特別好，包括“槍花”翻唱的金屬版本。

鮑勃〃迪倫是一個偉大的人，影響力從上世紀六十年代一直到現在，早期的音樂比較有批判性，后期的音樂更多的是自醒和反思人性。我最喜歡的一首鮑勃〃迪倫的歌是《再一杯咖啡》(one more cup of coffee)，這是他寫的一首情歌，雖然他有名的作品都不是情歌，但這首情歌比其他的情歌更深刻地探索了人類的情感。

鮑勃〃迪倫對我來說是民謠音樂和搖滾音樂的鼻祖，他歌詞的意義超越了他音樂的意義，當你深刻地理解了他的歌詞時，他會指引你一條路，讓你打開許多你自己意識不到的一些想法。我會推薦朋友去看他的演唱會，因為他能在這個歲數來到中國真的不容易。我最喜歡的他的歌應該和大家一樣是《像一塊滾石》(like a rolling stone)。

鮑勃〃迪倫是一個為20世紀世界搖滾樂樹立了標桿和定義的人，他證明了搖滾樂首先是一種精神層面的東西，然后才是一種音樂類型。說實話，我覺得他的歌挺難聽的，越老越難聽。但他的創作自由度很大，即興性也很強，中國人骨子里沒有他所生存的那種社會與文化環境，所以并不容易融入到他的音樂里。最有印象的是他的兩張專輯《重訪61號公路》(Highway 61 Revisited)和《帝國雜劇》(Empire Burlesque)。

對鮑勃〃迪倫而言，一生就似一場旅程，只有不斷地出發才能一直走在回家的路上，就像他當時毅然離家出走前往紐約，或是現在滿臉滄桑地帶著皺紋和回憶來到中國。

迪倫的大半生，追逐時代，審視時代，推動時代而終被時代所追趕，以至于我們常常只能看著他的背影，或是把他的一張張呈現在人前的臉孔分門別類，這種方式雖然是他所拒絕的，但這也許更方便我們理解他。

第1張面孔曾經青澀的民謠歌手

鮑勃〃迪倫的原名是羅伯特〃艾倫〃齊默曼，他在大學開始唱民歌時改名鮑勃〃迪倫。他取這個名字一半是因為模仿美國電視節目中的西部英雄馬特〃狄龍，另一半是因為這個新名字實在好聽又好記。

他的民謠生涯是從考上明尼蘇達大學開始的。鮑勃和不少當時的年輕人一樣厭倦枯燥無味的大學生活，他整天出入酒吧試圖從音樂中找到自己。當時的搖滾樂還并沒有成型，不少年輕人都嫌棄“三件套”式的音樂太簡單，于是鮑勃把手里的電吉他換成了一把鋼絲弦的吉布森民謠吉他，從扒流行民歌組合金斯頓三重唱(Kingston Trio)開始，到瘋狂地模仿當紅的民謠歌手伍迪〃格斯里(Woody Guthrie)。時間沉淀，鮑勃〃迪倫慢慢摸索建立起屬于自己的風格。

1961年1月，鮑勃〃迪倫第一次以自己的這個“藝名”在紐約格林威治村的酒吧登臺獻藝，用口琴和吉他模仿伍迪〃格斯里。他可愛的“伍迪模仿秀”吸引了不少陌生人的注意，于是他成了這個民謠工坊里的一個被人看好的新學徒。

他寄住在別的民謠歌手家，他和人組隊去看望住院的偶像伍迪〃格斯里。后來他的偶像成了他的貴人。在簽約CBS唱片公司后，迪倫嶄露頭角。1962年，迪倫在自己的第一張同名專輯的封面上略帶羞澀地望著鏡頭，任由別人把自己打造成一個年輕的民謠偶像，一個更為英俊的伍迪〃格斯里。

一年后，迪倫跟隨自己的制作人改簽哥倫比亞公司，隨后的兩年間他推出了收錄在《答案在風中飄蕩》的《放任自流》《時代變了》和《鮑勃〃迪倫的另一面》這三張專輯中，并且兩次在全美最大規模的民謠音樂節新港音樂節上表演。當時，小馬丁〃路德〃金剛剛組織了“華盛頓大游行”，隨后約翰〃肯尼迪總統遇刺。在迷茫動蕩的1963年，彼得〃保羅和瑪麗合唱團唱紅了迪倫的《答案在風中飄蕩》。迪倫在歌詞里提到了九個問題，關于情感、關于世界和人生的走向，而他們的答案，也許時至今日仍在風中飄。專輯《時代變了》升級成為人們心目中的政治宣言，專輯封面上迪倫緊蹙雙眉的憤怒神情也成為那個時代最鮮明的臉孔。

1963年和1964年的演出使得他的名聲到達了無以復加的地步。他也漸漸地從伍迪〃格斯里的影響中走出，成為獨一無二的民謠國王。1963年的一場演出中，迪倫念了一首自己寫作的獻給伍迪〃格斯里的長詩，這既是致敬，也是告別。在這一階段里，鮑勃〃迪倫的主要創作方向是抗議民謠，除了《答案在風中飄蕩》之外，《大雨降至》以及《時代變了》《戰爭的主人》都是發人深省的抗議民謠歌曲。這個時代的迪倫是最為人熟悉的，似乎全世界的樂迷都愿意他沿著這個模式永遠走下去。

第2張面孔不斷改變的搖滾斗士

鮑勃〃迪倫迄今為止的生涯都是在“被貼標簽”和“撕標簽”中進行，用“斗士”一詞來形容他也不為過。不僅因為他歌詞中的批判和自始至終的搖滾精神，還在于他反復地否定自己，別人捉摸不透的同時卻能感受到他的堅定。迪倫的轉變和頑固在一段時期被很多人曲解，歌迷也屢次指責他“為了商業利益出賣自己”，但他認為：“只要能繼續做我喜歡做的事，我不在乎被標簽，或者媒體怎么看，因為我每天晚上都在面對人們演出。”

迪倫對時代的主流始終保持著強烈的警惕心。他說，“我只是覺得主流文化很落后，是個騙人的把戲。它就像窗外那堅固的冰霜，你不得不穿著笨重的鞋子走在上面。”無論是出席格萊美或是參加義賣唱片《天下一家》時，迪倫幾乎總是以一些孤僻、不合群的行為讓他在活動組織者眼中成為大煞風景的人。

雖然當年他用民謠精神引領抗議活動，但迪倫始終意不在政治。熟悉他的民謠歌手Dave Van Ronk回憶說：“鮑勃從來就不是一個政治化的人。”當迪倫被緊急國民委員會授獎時，他發言公開表示拒絕，稱自己只是一個獨立詩人而已，不想做任何人的代言人。

1965年初，受到披頭士等英國搖滾樂隊的影響，迪倫用時髦的西裝和尖頭皮鞋代替了皺巴巴的牛仔褲和工裝服，在接受采訪時也越來越“沒正型”。在電視訪談節目中談及準備制作的新電影時，他回答說那將是一部牛仔恐怖片，當問及是否在片中扮演牛仔時，他回答說：“不，我扮演我媽媽。”

這種離經叛道的行為讓迪倫在1965年的新港民謠音樂節上遭受了來自歌迷的敵對情緒。在演出前一天，迪倫突然擅自決定挑戰民謠音樂節的慣例，決定要帶一支完全電聲化的樂隊上場。當場的情況亂成一團，抗議歌手和歌迷認為他“背叛”了民謠，迪倫尊崇的民謠領袖Pete Seeger甚至憤怒得差點要用斧頭把擴音器的電纜斬斷。他和樂隊只演了三首歌就在噓聲中匆忙下臺。

此后的兩年，迪倫開始沾染藥品，而他的詞作也越來越晦澀難懂。他在1966年的專輯《美女如云》，通篇渲染著讓當時的美國人感到費解迷幻的色彩。同時他開始在世界范圍內巡演，每日在興奮劑和藥品的支撐下24小時地工作，像是一臺插了電的機器。而他身邊的人都看得出，這臺機器不久就要徹底地損壞了。他的每一場演出總是分為上下半場，上半場原聲民謠，大家相安無事，下半場電聲搖滾，觀眾便力圖用噓聲蓋過音樂。

1966年的一場車禍讓迪倫開始遠離聚光燈的中心，而他的音樂風格也再一次地發生了改變。1967年的《約翰衛斯理哈丁》專輯突然之間回歸了溫暖抒情的鄉村民謠，而歌詞也不再犀利地直指社會現象。關于車禍后自己的轉變，迪倫曾說：“我不知道別人的幻想是什么，但是我幻想能夠朝九晚五地工作，在綠樹成蔭的地方有一所帶白色柵欄的房子，庭園里盛開著粉紅色的玫瑰。那會很好。那就是我最深遂的夢想。”

第3張面孔天生的游吟詩人

民謠是迪倫成名和探索世界的方式，而詩意的歌詞則是他作品中最核心的因素。他的歌詞完全能夠脫離曲調而被當做詩作來閱讀，而他的文學成就也完全可以在他的傳記里獨立成章。

從上世紀60年代中期，一些主流評論開始推崇迪倫文學方面的造詣，有批評家稱他為現代美國繼卡爾〃桑德堡、羅伯特〃弗羅斯特之后最偉大的詩人；1976年美國總統卡特在競選活動中引用迪倫的詩句并稱其為“偉大的美國詩人”；1990年，法蘭西文學院向迪倫頒發“文學藝術杰出成就獎”。外界的各種褒獎沒有使迪倫淪陷，他對自己的評價調侃而中肯：“無論我到哪里，我都是一個60年代的游吟詩人，一個搖滾民謠的遺跡，一個從逝去時代過來的詞語匠人，一個從無人知曉的地方來的虛構的國家首腦。我處在被文化遺忘的無底深淵之中。”

1996年，在艾倫〃金斯堡的大力舉薦下，迪倫被諾貝爾獎提名。自那之后，迪倫又數次被提名，諾貝爾獎委員會對他的評價是：“他把詩歌的形式以及關注社會問題的思想融入到音樂當中，這一點就足以獲得諾貝爾的關注。他的歌充滿激情地表達了對民權、世界和平、環境保護以及其他嚴重的全球問題的關注。”迪倫最終也沒得諾貝爾獎，不過卻在2008年的第92屆普利策文學獎上獲得特別榮譽獎，得獎評語為“對流行音樂和美國文化產生深刻影響，以及歌詞創作中非凡的詩性力量”。

第4張面孔終究孤獨的萬人迷

從女性角度來看，迪倫年輕時的形象是“萬人迷”的典型代表。卷發，深情雙眼，才子內核……事實上他的私人生活并不如上世紀60年代其他搖滾歌手那么復雜混亂，每一段都有可以追究的故事感。

迪倫的第二張唱片封面上的女孩是他的初戀女友蘇西〃羅圖洛，他們在一個雨后的街頭相擁而行，比起照片上甜蜜的女孩來說，迪倫似乎還要更羞澀一些。當時的迪倫并不是一個高不可攀的明星，倒是蘇西的人脈更廣一些，時髦美麗的她幫助迪倫進入了更廣的文藝社交界，迪倫在回憶錄中也毫不吝嗇對她的美譽：“極其美艷，極其活潑，笑容可以照亮一整條街道，像是羅丹雕塑活了過來。”雖然兩人很快分手，但蘇西是被認為對迪倫影響僅次于瓊〃貝茲的一個。

而當時的民謠歌后瓊〃貝茲則是迪倫最重要的一級階梯。1961年，貝茲已經家喻戶曉，還登上過《時代》的封面，她喜歡上了迪倫創作的《Song to Woody》，還在幾次大型的公開演唱中都帶上了迪倫。

說回24歲的鮑勃迪倫，依照袁越在《來自民間的叛逆》一書中的描述，1964年6月9日，正在準備《世事變遷》之后的專輯的迪倫，也是正埋沒在公眾對下一張抗議專輯的期待中的迪倫，在錄音棚里對制作人威爾遜和記者亨托夫微笑著說：“今晚可沒有一首抗議歌曲。我以前雖然錄過一些這類歌曲，可能一部分是為了出名，一部分是因為當時我沒有見誰在這么寫歌，可現在人人都在抗議，人人誰都在告訴別人誰對誰錯。我已經不想這么干了。我不會再為別人寫歌了，不會再去當什么‘時代代言人’了。從今天開始，我要寫我的內心世界，就像我在十歲是寫東西那樣。一切發自內心。寫個應該向走路吃飯一樣自然。” 鮑勃迪倫，就這樣開始了對自己的過去告別。而接下來的專輯《鮑勃迪倫的另一面》，果然沒有一首抗議歌曲，但是這仍然是一張民謠專輯。專輯里，迪倫用的依然是他那充滿隱喻的諷刺和大段的現代詩一樣的歌詞，卻在向聽眾自說自話，解釋自己。從此，迪倫拋棄了抗議歌手的頭銜，甚至拋棄了“民謠歌手”的身份。“民謠歌手”在當時的文藝青年心中，是神圣的，是和“哄小孩子的”搖滾樂完全不同的，所以當公眾看到自己的偶像在民謠音樂節里突然拿起了電吉他，把自己的歌變成了“庸俗不堪”的搖滾樂，才發生了后來皮特-西格在后臺居然舉起斧頭要砍斷音箱線的一幕，被驚得啞口無言的聽眾，從一開始還出于禮節鼓掌，到后來逐漸變為滿谷噓聲，乃至后來在臺下向迪倫高呼“猶大”。對于迪倫的改編，旁人的贊嘆是有的，只是面對眾多的觀眾和民謠圈的前輩，這些贊賞的聲音只猶如蚊子的低語。而迪倫，連像在《Another Side of Bob Dylan》中那樣的“解釋自己”都放棄了。從再下一張專輯《席卷而歸（Bring it all Back Home）》開始，你聽到了電音的迪倫，而歷史證明，再往后的《重訪61號公路（Highway 61 Revisited）》、《美女如云（Blonde on Blonde）》等專輯，無一不稱為經典中的經典。迪倫對于“自己”的背叛，卻真正使他成為了傳奇，而這一路的坎坷，在當時看來，對迪倫本人情緒的影響是頗為巨大的。

來自1992年演唱會現場的這首群星合唱的版本，是我最喜歡的版本，來自在1992年10月16日舉辦的鮑勃迪倫從藝30周年紀念演唱會的現場壓軸曲目。這是一場致敬演唱會，時至90年代，迪倫已經成為無數樂隊和樂手的精神導師和教父，在這個舞臺上，數十位新老歌手和樂隊在舞臺上翻唱迪倫的歌曲，向迪倫致敬，而這首歌的這個版本也因為其意義和表演者而顯得尤為珍貴。作為壓軸表演，這個版本的主旋律也是來自飛鳥樂隊的翻唱版本，的每一段歌詞，都由不同的歌手演唱，讓我們看一看同臺表演這首歌的堪稱大師級的陣容吧：除了親自彈唱第5段歌詞的鮑勃迪倫本人，還有吉姆-麥吉恩、喬治-哈里森、湯姆-佩蒂、埃里克-克萊普頓、尼爾-楊。如此空前絕后的陣容，演唱這樣一首并不算代表作的歌曲，可見它承載的意義之非凡。這里還有一個段子，據說整場演唱會，迪倫都在后臺和大家喝酒，等到唱這首歌上臺的時候，其實已經酩酊大醉了。雖然不能確定其真實性，但是你聽這首歌里迪倫的沙啞的嗓音和含糊不清口齒，似乎真的能窺得一二。而時隔將近30年，從所有這些大師的嘴里，再次唱出“那時候我如此老氣橫秋，而今朝氣蓬勃”的時候，他們該是怎樣的一番滋味在心頭？

而也許就在1964年版的《My Back Pages》這首歌里，迪倫就已經做出了決定。他要告別曾經老氣橫秋的自己，去獲得新生。

迪倫的這段歷史，在馬世芳的文章《擁舞的詩神與厲鬼》和袁越所著的《來自民間的叛逆》一書，以及迪倫的傳記電影《歸鄉無路（No Direction Home）》和紀錄片《The History of Rock’n’Roll》的第4集《插電音樂》中都有非常詳細的講述，在后者片中這一集的結尾訪談里，U2主唱Bono說：“當迪倫插上電那一刻起，所有的一切，都不一樣了”。
