The Shawshank Redemption is a film which describes hope and friendship.The film was performed by Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins.Both of them are the famous actors in the Hollywood.In everyone’s life, the hope and friendship supports people to live.However, the hero who name was Red.He lost the freedom and the hope in the film.Red also had been already put in prison for almost 40 years.But when another hero came to the prison, he brought the hope to Red who name was Andy.Andy was a young banker, and he could be regarded as a successful man.On the contrast, his marriage was not good as well as his work.His wife had an affair with a man.Andy can’t stand it and he tried to kill them.In fact, he didn’t do it but all the evidences were aimed to him.Finally, he was put in the prison.It was not the end to the movie.Andy was different from others.He tries to build a library in the jail.He let the prisoners listen to the music.And he also got along well with Red.Andy also changed the some conditions of environment in the jail.Andy was clever and he tried to use his own professional knowledge to get some benefit and the warden’s trust.The trust of the warden was a key to Andy’s escape plan.Once time, he found a evident who knew the truth about his wife and her lover.But the warden heard about the thing.For the warden’s own benefit, he didn’t want to let Andy get out of the jail, the warden killed the evident.Though.Andy was suffered so many unfair treatments, he never gave up.He used the small hammer to break up a path to freedom.His perseverance and the desire for freedom supported himself.We can see the power of the freedom in one’s mind.However, when a man who had already been put into prison for 50 years was free and came back to the society, his situation was changed totally.Brooks Hatien was the man.He was institutionalized and he could not adapt to the life which was out of the jail.Finally, Brooks was suicide.When I saw this situation, my tears were falling down.From his experience, we can know how worse life of the prison is, how dark the prison.And we can know why people lost the desire of freedom.There was a comparison of Red.When he really wanted to get the freedom, the warden said no, but after 20 years, he didn’t have the desire to get out of the prison, the man got the yes.The destiny always plays jokes on people.We can learn something from Red and Brooks.Both of them are institutionalized, they can’t adapt to the society well.They lost their desire of life and freedom.On the contrast, Andy hold the freedom and his own destiny, he was like the bright sunshine of the jail and the whole movie.We should trust the words which said by Andy.“Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” “Get busy living, or get busy dying.”

一位前途似錦的銀行副總安迪,由于妻子偷情,便想殺死妻子和她的情人,而恰好那晚,兩人死于槍殺,他便成了頭號嫌疑犯。他雖然沒有殺人但是有殺人動機,由于他的辯護無力和證據(jù)不足,他被判無期,接著送入肖申克監(jiān)獄。作為新人,前兩年他受盡折磨,那是咬著牙過日子,打碎的牙往肚子里咽。他主動尋找到一次機會,利用自身的專業(yè)知識幫獄警長躲過稅收的麻煩。在和老囚犯瑞德的交往中,兩人的友誼也日趨牢固。而安迪在監(jiān)獄中由于給獄警和監(jiān)獄長帶來了利益,由此他也得到了許多自由空間。湯米的到來,使他無意中發(fā)現(xiàn)了殺害妻子的兇手,他要求翻案,但是在監(jiān)獄長的橫加干涉下,他的希望被撲滅。當(dāng)湯米被害,他便下定決心完成越獄這一壯舉。在電閃雷鳴之夜,他爬過自己用十九年挖出的隧道,爬過五百碼的化糞道,成功的離開了肖申克監(jiān)獄。隨后,他把監(jiān)獄長的受賄記錄交給了記者,腐敗者得到了應(yīng)有的懲罰,而他選擇了新生,好友瑞德也在假釋后,來到了他的身邊。
故事一點也不復(fù)雜,相反簡單的不能再簡單,用一句話概括就是安迪的越獄實錄。但是,為什么這么簡單的故事反而會產(chǎn)生如此大的效果?我覺得技巧全在影片的編排和人物的設(shè)置上。
影片的一開始是交代安迪的“案底”,給大家一個心理暗示,那就是他可能是兇手,也可能不是兇手,使大家能夠有興趣接著往下看。后面便是以瑞德的角度來描述安迪。我覺得這部電影好就好在瑞德這個角色的設(shè)定。瑞德作為一位老囚犯,他熟知監(jiān)獄中的一切,也明白監(jiān)獄中需要的生存技巧。而以這樣一個近似“導(dǎo)師”的人物來描述一個新進的囚犯,在心理上會給觀眾一種親切感。這仿佛就是一個故事,而瑞德是講故事的人,安迪是故事的主角。而這樣的安排注定這個故事是帶有傳奇色彩的。
安迪在獄中最初的生活都是靠瑞德的觀察來說明的,接著,影片便制造了安迪遭遇性侵犯的事件,加上新囚犯被獄警活活打死的事件,使每個觀眾在心理上都開始傾向于同情安迪,這就為影片后續(xù)的故事打下了一個基調(diào)——安迪以后的所作所為都是在反抗這種體制,都是在爭取自由。而這種觀眾和主角之間的默契類似于“斯得哥爾摩癥候群”,這是影片最高明之處。
安迪在此之后便開始有了轉(zhuǎn)機,在屋外勞動中,他利用自己的知識主動接近獄警長,然后幫助他完成遺產(chǎn)的轉(zhuǎn)移。這是得到監(jiān)獄中最大勢力支持的一種最有效途徑。瑞德對他的評論是他向往內(nèi)心的自由。我覺得這是一種比較理想的說法,最真實的說法就是想要生存下去就必須和外在勢力做出某種妥協(xié)。就如以前網(wǎng)上的一句名言:“生活就像強奸,既然不能反抗不如學(xué)著享受。”到此為止,安迪得到了獄友的信任,也得到了獄警的關(guān)照。每個人都會面對困境,每個人處理困境的方法可能不一樣。但是安迪的做法在一定程度上暗合了我們內(nèi)心對于困難的一種解決方法,而這種方法又是最常用的。當(dāng)然,安迪暫時的妥協(xié)并不代表完全的服從,這要等到影片結(jié)束才能明白他的堅忍。
影片從這開始,進入了一種比較歡快的氣氛。身為犯人的安迪成了監(jiān)獄中的財務(wù)總監(jiān),他的所作所為更像是反諷這些政府的工作人員。看到這里,觀眾大概會輕松一下,主角的智慧讓他脫離了困難。接著,便是布魯克斯事件。這位進入監(jiān)獄五十年的老頭被獲準(zhǔn)假釋,一個被監(jiān)獄同化了的人在外面的世界完全被拋棄,失去希望的布魯克斯選擇了自殺。這一事件的發(fā)生促使觀眾接受了我認為最經(jīng)典的一句話:這些墻很有趣。一開始你恨它,慢慢你就習(xí)慣了,到后來你便不能離開它了,這就是體制化。這句話解釋了亙古以來所有政策的本質(zhì)。而任何一位有生活經(jīng)驗的觀眾便能從這體會出生活的某些滋味,或酸或甜或苦或辣,一切盡在不言中。影片在這里進一步將監(jiān)獄渲染成了對立面,而安迪則是沖破這種體制最佳人選。
生活還要繼續(xù),監(jiān)獄生活就是一段一段的例行公事。而安迪則做著另一件事情,他每周給州議會寫信,以期望得到圖書資助。在他堅持了六年后,他的努力獲得了回報。接著,他再接再厲,繼續(xù)給州議會寫信,這帶來了最后的成果:他得以建立圖書館,改善獄友的精神面貌,讓每個人的內(nèi)心中充滿希望。接著,他便私自放送音樂,讓內(nèi)心的自由得到再次的釋放,迎接他的便是禁閉。日子在他不斷觸動體制底線的反復(fù)較量中流失,誰都不會知道他的那把小錘子一刻也不會停下鑿墻的步伐,直到湯米的出現(xiàn)。
個人以為湯米這個人其實本不需要出現(xiàn)。不過作為一個可以豐富安迪性格的角色(湯米的教書育人近似于我們古代的圣人),他的出現(xiàn)也帶出了十九年前的那起兇殺案,得到內(nèi)情的安迪自然是興奮不已,在和監(jiān)獄長的談判中,他出口不遜,或者說過于冒進,導(dǎo)致自己喪失了機會。其實,這種機會本來就不可能出現(xiàn),監(jiān)獄長不會讓他有這個機會,湯米的被殺讓安迪徹底的失望,也堅定了他越獄的決心。在這里,估計很多人都會問,既然都要越獄了,為什么還要多此一舉,期望翻案?我個人觀點,安迪是一個聰明人,他當(dāng)然想利用這次難得的機會擺脫殺人的罪名,以便輕松出獄;另外,越獄是有風(fēng)險的。兩者比較選其輕,他以為已經(jīng)得到好處的監(jiān)獄長可能會開恩,這樣就沒有必要冒險。當(dāng)然,事態(tài)的發(fā)展導(dǎo)致他只能選擇越獄。
后面的故事就算是點綴了,安迪越獄成功,并帶走了監(jiān)獄長洗干凈的金錢;瑞德抱著不被假釋之心去應(yīng)付問答,結(jié)果卻被假釋,他也經(jīng)歷了一段心理掙扎,還好有老朋友的扶持,他也到達了夢想中的地方;而監(jiān)獄長選擇自殺,獄警長被捕,一個皆大歡喜的結(jié)局。
黑幕落下,觀眾大概還沉浸在安迪這種完美的結(jié)局中不能自拔。導(dǎo)演就是在不斷的“破局”和“立局”中完成了這個簡單的故事。而導(dǎo)演的精明之處就是在編排上讓觀眾看不到一絲造作的痕跡,任何問題的產(chǎn)生和問題的解決似乎都是自然的。
情節(jié)上,導(dǎo)演的高明之處便是我前面提到的讓觀眾在監(jiān)獄生活開始不久后就同情安迪。而監(jiān)獄作為一種對立的批判的象征性場景,時時刻刻被各種事件加以深刻,最終當(dāng)安迪越獄成功,監(jiān)獄的象征性則完成了使命。安迪成功越獄,對他而言是一種救贖,但是對監(jiān)獄而言,安迪在監(jiān)獄中散播下的希望之種是另一種形式的救贖。而影片的片名我想大概就是來源于這兩方面吧。
而回過頭去看安迪最初的一系列舉動,便不難發(fā)現(xiàn)這是一個具有大智慧的人,他時刻都保持著冷靜,都能審時度勢。在寵辱不驚的外表之下,我想應(yīng)該是最初的監(jiān)獄生活給了他深刻的啟發(fā)。而這個角色則代表了一般人心中最完美的人格。至于瑞德,他是一個深受體制困擾的旁觀者,他能接受現(xiàn)實,并能自得其樂,卻少了追求自由的激情,這個角色更是我們普通人的真實寫照。用普通人的視角去看完美的人格,這無疑拉近了觀眾和電影的距離。
如果仔細看看安迪的所作所為,那么這部電影則是一部勵志大片,是一部足以溫暖每個人的“心靈雞湯”。而在此層面上,這樣的電影更適合在家中觀看而不是電影院,更適合一個人欣賞而不是眾人觀看。
試想,在靜謐空間中獨自感受那份充滿激情的力量,在光影交錯中品嘗那份包含情感的滋味,這也就不難理解影片為什么會擁有如此多的支持者。
最后的一晚,外面暴風(fēng)驟雨,坐在牢房里的他的內(nèi)心也在波濤洶涌。最后的一晚,當(dāng)他爬出監(jiān)獄的下水管道,舉起雙手徜徉在雨中的時候,他蓄積了20年的對自由的渴望終于爆發(fā)了。他用自己的堅持完成了對自己心靈的一次完美的救贖。

REVIEW OF THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION It has been a long time since I wanted to write a movie review of THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION.I had so many feelings the first time I watch this film.The second.And the third.Every time.More and more feelings, I would say.It is a very impressive movie, being known to us all.Once you got it, you couldn’t help being touched.That’s it!It is one of my favorite movies.However, I dared not say that I fell in love with it at the very first sight.Actually I had thought it was very boring.It’s probably more because I didn’t understand its plots, let alone its theme until I’d watched a quarter of it.It’s hard to understand when I was just a senior high school student.I was not that smart.But I finally got it.And I loved it immediately!What a deep theme it is!Institutionalized!That’s exactly the word I gonna interpret!Before that, a story first.There was a time when my history teacher told us all before our final exam,“It is very relunctant for me to say that, but I gotta say, when you write down your answers on the paper, you’d better write down the same as the book says.I ain’t saying that my opinions are wrong, but it wouldn’t be recognized when your papers are being checked.It’s only my opinions.If you didn’t, then you’re stupid.I ain’t the only person who’s gonna check your paper.That’s the system.We teachers have rejected that kind of checking because it would not be fair for every teacher having his or her own key points to teach and thus, deserving their own standards for evaluation.Besides, you know that you have no enough powers to overthrow the system.Do you? So don’t be stupid and ridiculous.That’s all.” It was the sentence “That’s the system!” that attractted my attentions and made me reflect.System.Isn’t that exactly the same as institutionalization?
As a matter of fact, all of us, more or less, have been institutionalized or are being institutionalized.That’s what I got from THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION.If we pay a little more attention on ourselves, we would find that fact.The systems have already been set for us as soon as we were born, without less similarities as the prisoners.They own their numbers as soon as they are put into prison.We own our identy cards.Then we try to fit right in the totally new world.For that matter, we try our best to do the same stuffs as everyone else under the system, such as the education.More or less, the prisoners are the same.No need to argue with that.What’s more, “Believe what you want.These walls are funny.First you hate 'em, then you get used to 'em.After long enough, you get so you depend on 'em.That's “institutionalized.” That’s what Red said.And that’s exactly the truth.Why would we be institutionalized? Not having enough force is just an excuse.The point is we have no awareness that we actually would have had the choice not to be institutionalized only if we hadn’t lost the hope for freedom.As for “hope”, actually, Red and Andy have totally different viewpoints at first.“That there are things in this world not carved out of gray stone.That there's a small place inside of us they can never lock away, and that place is called hope.” Andy said.And Red said,“Hope is a dangerous thing.Drive a man insane.It's got no place here.Better get used to the idea.”
Whose would I stand by? Without doubt, Andy’s.You just can never ever lose hope for life, for freedom unless you are totally desperated for life.Neither can Red.As we can see, Red regained freedom finally.Isn’t it a relief? He once said that he was the only guilty man in Shawshank.Yet he got redemption in the end.Thank god.It’s not the end of his life.No one would want to be institutionalized.But how come one began to be institutionalized? Well, living a life under a system is a start to be.When we begin to think that we are out of the fashion, we are institutionalized.Because the fashion is one of the ways the system set to lead us.When we begin to think that we’d better not do something since nobody else did, we are institutionalized.Who made the rules for people to obey? The system.Then how come we not to be? Flee away from the systems.Only if we had such determinations as Andy did.And get busy living of get busy dying.That’s the only truth.Tina

I can’t agree with it any more.In the film, the walls of the prison can bind people’s freedom.But they can not deprive people’s hope.The hero, Andy, never abandons the desire for freedom, and he keeps up working for his hope.Every night andy uses the little hammer to dig the wall that in others’ opinion, it will takes hundreds of years to dig through.He makes all preparations for leaving the prison.So he succeeds, and regains the precious freedom.It is hope that helps Andy get through painful prison life and regain the freedom.At the same time, hope saves his friend’s life too.Therefore, in real life, no matter how difficult the situation is, we shouldn’t give up our hope.We should stick to work hard for the hope.In this way our life will not lose its significance.So please remember, Hope is a good thing, and no good thing ever dies!

在《文明而未開化的讀者》中有人說過這樣一句話:即使在最為困窘的情況下,依然有一條打開著的通向靈魂的通道,這個條通道也許并不容易找到??,然而它始終在那兒,我們的義務(wù)是使它保持暢通,從而進入我們靈魂的最深處,在那里我們可以獲得更高的意識,正是那種意識使我們做出最后的審判,并且把一切都安排好。正如影片在安迪剛進入肖申克看突兀的高墻時,誰都不清楚,命運早為他寫好了結(jié)局。
環(huán)顧當(dāng)今電影節(jié)所呈現(xiàn)的氛圍,要么極度追求奢華的明星陣容,要么過分強調(diào)用高科技來打造的大手筆場景,或者以離奇曲折的情節(jié)取勝,或者是極盡無厘頭的搞笑幽默。電影的構(gòu)造大多數(shù)以此為表現(xiàn)范疇,而由弗蘭克?德拉邦特執(zhí)導(dǎo)的影片,既沒有跌宕起伏的情節(jié),也沒有更多的投資,更沒有眾多明星的加入,然而卻將影片所要變現(xiàn)的信念展現(xiàn)得淋漓盡致,從而震撼了每一位觀眾的心。這不是一部藝術(shù)性商業(yè)片,沒有奢侈的票房收入,沒有玄變的色彩,沒有多少場景的男女角色搭配,沒有重要的商業(yè)賣點——時尚,沒有全球化進程中人們忙碌追趕世界潮流的身影,有的只是在丑陋的現(xiàn)實面前,各位囚徒因為精神空虛而煩惱,為沒有實現(xiàn)的遠大理想而不安,整日在廣場上坐著看頭頂天空的失去信仰的眼神,面對獄警的棒槌表面上沒有而心理上卻存在歇斯底里的恐懼,同性戀者的變態(tài)折磨,典獄長人面獸心的嘴臉,一次次遭到駁回的REJECTEDE印章,一系列的一系列導(dǎo)致他們已經(jīng)失去了探尋生命能夠繼續(xù)存在的理由。這些都是監(jiān)獄生活的常規(guī),進入了肖申克借用典獄長諾頓的一句話:把信仰交給上帝,把身體交給我。長此以往,悲劇就產(chǎn)生了,孤寂的是心靈,創(chuàng)痛的是靈魂。人們習(xí)慣了這種不自由,習(xí)慣了這種被體制化的生活,布魯斯就是這種被完全體制化的犧牲者,以至于在年老體衰出獄之后不知道該何去何從,甚至想通過再次殺人來讓別人再次把他送回“家” ??。而瑞德則是被半體制化的典型,在遇到安迪之前他對“自由”已經(jīng)沒有了太多的憧憬,游離于現(xiàn)實和兒時的夢想之間,而更多的則是做了現(xiàn)實的傀儡。
肖申克不是一個人名 而是一個被完全緊閉的囚籠 該影片,實際上不是主演本人安迪?德佛瑞恩本身的救贖,而是對于整個被囚禁在肖申克監(jiān)獄的所有人的救贖。有位導(dǎo)演曾說過:“含蓄是藝術(shù)美學(xué)上最好的享受。”而安迪在肖申克監(jiān)獄的出現(xiàn)就是將這種含蓄的藝術(shù)美升華到了極致的境界。該影片中這種含蓄的美感主要來自安迪的性格表現(xiàn),他選擇孤獨,用孤獨來掩蓋著與眾不同的內(nèi)心世界,用孤獨沉思來捍衛(wèi)他的尊嚴(yán)和追求,探索新的生活方式。他的一切都是矜持的:或是因為幫獄警逃稅成功讓他的同伴享受了每人三瓶啤酒的優(yōu)厚待遇后的淺淺的奇怪的微笑;或是長達六年向州立政府寫信,申請圖書館補貼,最終因為他的堅持而獲得豐厚回報而臉上露出的那份恬淡與超脫;或是冒著被禁閉的危險,面對典獄長的威脅,在辦公室里邊放意大利歌劇的的那份瀟灑與自然體現(xiàn)。無不向觀眾呈現(xiàn)了一個大銀行家骨子里的那種沉穩(wěn)與心機。這就是所謂的“含蓄美”但這種含蓄并不僅僅是虛設(shè),它有一種爆發(fā)力,這是一個“自我”與“超我”的問題。而這種“自我”主要是通過圖書館的建立來體現(xiàn)的。圖書和音樂兩者都是一個人精神和靈魂可以棲息的地方,即使在肖申克如此變態(tài)的環(huán)境之下,也不忘讓獄友們陶冶情操,去學(xué)習(xí)探索的人更是值得讓人敬佩。他讓為數(shù)不少的人在監(jiān)獄里邊獲得了高中畢業(yè)證,讓肖申克監(jiān)獄的圖書館成為全緬因州的最頂尖圖書館,讓監(jiān)獄里的人們開始對完全不自由與狀態(tài)下的生活開始有了內(nèi)心的憧憬與期待。“超我”則從一把鶴嘴錘說起,在瑞德開來如果想借助鶴嘴錘企圖越獄最少需要六百年的時間,而安迪卻突破了這種常規(guī),用了不到二十年時間為自由開辟了一片新天地。影片賦予這個沉悶型的人以厚積薄發(fā),無堅不摧的雄渾氣勢。大家都生活在理性世界,沒有人對希望這個詞匯能再次存在敏感而他則是融感性與理性于一體的這樣一個大人物,他的那些在常人眼里不正常的言
行舉止,比起甚至是活在自由世界的我們這些人的理性言行更加可愛。因此,幾十年如一日,一批又一批囚犯被帶進肖申克這個無底洞,而只有安迪——這個沉默寡言得人將自己對于自由的那份追逐付諸了實踐,最終得以解脫。
影片在表現(xiàn)手法上盡量做到了樸實單純,用黑白搭調(diào)來展示牢獄生活,依靠人物和環(huán)境更多的發(fā)掘故事內(nèi)在的本質(zhì)的東西而不追求形式上簡單化得創(chuàng)新,導(dǎo)演更多的運用全景和大全景的鏡頭,是人物和背景始終能夠融合在一起,來襯托對于自由還存在向往的那種清純質(zhì)樸,進而反襯牢獄生活的黑暗,導(dǎo)演把影片拍得很“藝術(shù)”,有幽默也有傷感,其都來自于乏味生活下最本質(zhì)的細節(jié),體現(xiàn)出當(dāng)時生活下的那種質(zhì)感,在五六十年代資本主義迅速發(fā)展的美國,正處于存在隔閡與碰撞的時期,新舊交替也不是就可以簡單的推倒重來,他需要一個漫長而艱辛的過程,而在影片中反映出的就是安迪的魅力所在,而那把鶴嘴錘,那條通道,以及作為掩飾的性感美女海報在影片中則有著外延,它是一種精神,一種文化,更是為安迪所舉行的一場“新生”盛宴。知識分子最終還是要融入世界的,充實做人的本質(zhì),最終實現(xiàn)自我的價值,贏得人生的尊嚴(yán),重塑形象,救贖心靈。肖申克的救贖是一部反映五六十年代美國司法黑幕的影片,典獄長諾頓把囚徒們當(dāng)奴隸來使喚,洗黑錢,以在退休之前獲取更多的私有財產(chǎn),影片一開始就借助于安迪的眼睛來講辦公室里墻上的警言呈現(xiàn)于觀眾的視野,以此來為他的命運結(jié)局設(shè)置了伏筆。而電影本身的主題則是以此為背景向觀眾展示了一個“圓夢”的故事——即如何把生活中的不可能變成可能。它是好萊塢電影制造“白日夢”的一種全新突破,是對現(xiàn)實生活的一種折射,是對現(xiàn)實浪漫主義思想的一種加工處理,這里的“圓夢”不僅僅是“圓”劇中人的夢,更是“圓”那些對于夢想仍然沒有徹底破滅的觀眾的夢。是對觀眾現(xiàn)實生活的理想化,言觀眾之所欲,進而又突破了這個層次,使觀眾產(chǎn)生共鳴,因此該電影無論是從藝術(shù)水平還是電影產(chǎn)業(yè)的角度來看,都具有十分重要的意義。
