A Story in the Winter Holiday

Good morning everyone!

If there is anyone in the classroom who still doubts that nothing is impossible, who still wonders if you can do anything well, who still questions the power in your body, this story will be your answer.Well, it happened in the winter holiday, my mother ordered my brother to learn riding bicycle.You just can’t image how hard it was for a little boy.He rode and fell down, rode and fell down, and cried to give up!But my mother was very strict, she shouted like this, you won’t have lunch if you can’t defeat the bicycle!

我有個小兒子，我注意到他每天都在學些新東西。沒過多久我就發現他在觀察我，之后我做什么他就會學著做什么。就用這種簡單的辦法他學會了走路、跑步、開門、爬樓梯。他做這些事情從不完全學我的樣子，而是加進自己創造的特色，我把他的這種學習方法稱作創造性模仿。

創造性模仿讓我實現了參加職業網球巡回賽的目標。我用幾種方法創造性的模仿那些職業錦標賽的勝利者。我通讀了在圖書館和書店里能找到的每一本有關網球的書。我仔細研究每一本過期的網球雜志，尋找各種關于網球技術的文章；我在電視上觀看職業選手的比賽；我把職業網球比賽實況進行錄像并反復播放，有時候還要用慢鏡頭播放；我還去現場看職業比賽。邊學邊觀察，將絕大部分心得寫在日記里。我記的日記有好幾本，還做了上千的索引卡片。這些筆記幫助我將看到的用于實踐。就這樣，我從一個二流大學網球隊的三流選手變成一個小型職業比賽的奪冠者。創造性模仿使我找到了學習網球技術的最好辦法。

獲得博士學位不久，我又打算開辦一個業余行當--開學習班。又是創造性模仿幫助我來實現我的目標。1985年初我買了一臺電腦，這是我向商界過渡的第一步。我再一次竭盡全力學習如何在工作中使用這臺電腦。訂閱電腦期刊，學習使用電子制表軟件、數據庫、文字處理、制圖、桌面排版系統以及大綱處理軟件。我記下書本上的或是我自己思考的以及從發表的文章里得來的幾乎每一個想法。我成為了一名兼職電腦硬軟件經銷商和顧問。

因為有了這些軟件技術，我開始自信自己能做更大的生意。我意識到我能管個大企業，有許多同事、顧客、物資和產品。1988年，我向公眾開放了學習班業務，非常成功，所以我在1989年能夠永遠舍棄傳統教育這一行。幾年以后，原本只有我一個人的家庭行業發展成了一個大集團公司，至少培養了11，000名成人學習電腦和商務技術。

我的成功表明，創造性模仿的成功秘訣在于模仿世上那些成功的人和實干的人。在業務上模仿他人的最好辦法就是跟蹤觀察他們，看他們如何行事。如果這樣做得久了，又跟對了人，并且將觀察到的用于實踐，你就會成功。第二個最好的途徑就是多聽多讀你的表率人物或者說導師的所作所為，看他們是如何做到的。對他們的成功之道了解越多，助你成功的線索也就越多。
