常常想起錢塘江觀潮的情景，滿城的人爭著向江上望去。潮水涌來時，仿佛大海都空了，潮聲像一萬面鼓齊發，聲勢震人。踏潮獻技的人站在波濤上表演（技藝高超），手里拿著的紅旗絲毫沒被水打濕。此后幾次夢到觀潮的情景，夢醒時依然感覺心驚膽戰。
