填空式寫作是保留文章或對話的主干，適當地調換內容讓學生換上其它人、事和物進行填空。其優點是既降低寫作難度，激發學生寫作興趣，又可加深對課文的理解，特別是新舊單詞的綜合運用；缺點是學生有可能忽視語法、時態問題，在培養學

生創造力方面有欠缺。通常可以在每學完一篇課文或對話后，讓學生進行填空寫作。
