直接引語和間接引語：

直接引語就是直接引用或復述別人所講的話。直接引語一般放在引號之內。用自己的語言轉述別人的話叫間接引語。間接引語一般用賓語從句或帶動詞不定式的復合賓語表達。下面我們主要介紹如何將直接引語轉換為間接引語：

（1）間接引語的時態往往受引述動詞的影響，如果動詞是過去時，間接引語的時態通常也是過去的某種時態，同時將人稱根據上下文進行調整，當引述詞是過去式時，間接引語的時態變化如下表：

（3）如果直接引語是陳述句，在變為間接引語時，由連詞that引導（that 可以省略）。主句中如果有say to somebody，通常變為tell somebody。例如：

格蕾絲告訴亞歷克斯：“我要去購物，給我父母買些禮物。”

如果直接引語是兩個并列的陳述句，變為間接引語時，第一個賓語從句前的that 有時可以省略，但第二個賓語從句前的that 不可省略。
