一、寫信動機

通常自薦信是針對報紙上招聘廣告而寫的。若此,信中須提到何月何日的報紙,有時工作機會是從朋友或介紹所聽來的,有時寫信人不知某機構、公司有工作機會,毛遂 自薦。不論哪一種,自薦信上一定要說明寫信的緣由和目的。

現在讓我們來比較一下下面的三個句子在語氣上有何不同:

A、I am not only competent to install a filing system that will fulfill the needs of your corporation,but also well qualified to operate it efficiently.(我自信不僅可以設置一套能滿足貴公司需求的檔案分類系統,而且可以有效地進行操作。)

在此句中使用了not only……but also,competent 和well qualified 等詞語,表現得太自信,有夜郎自大之嫌,故不可取。

B、I think that I should probably make a good accountant for your factory.(我想我可能成為貴廠的一名好會計員)。

此句中的情態動詞should和副詞probably 所表達的語氣都欠肯定,而make(成為)一詞也缺乏自信,整句話顯得語氣太弱,有自卑感,因此亦不可取。

C、I am confident that my experience and references will show you that I can fulfil the particular requirements of your secretarial position(我相信我的經驗和證明人可以向您表明,我能夠符合貴單位秘書一職的特定需要。)

此句中的confident 一詞語氣肯定,給人一種自信感,而will show 和I can 也無自大之嫌,因而此句用得恰到好處,有特殊風格。

不要寫成 “ 詹姆士 ” Smith 不要寫成 “ 史密斯 ”

如果外企給的英文地址,另外一種情況。那信封的寫法就應遵循英美的習慣。一般的寫法是信封的左上角(中文信封郵政編碼的地方)

信封中間的地方寫的收件人的名字和地址。收發雙方的地址都要依照由小及大的順序排列,寫的發件人的名字和地址。依次是第一行

第二行寫市(縣)省名,寫房屋號、門牌號碼、街道或路名。第三行寫國家名稱。需要注意的寄往國外的自薦信都要加上 “ 中國 ” 字樣

而且一定是國名前。對于發件人來說,郵政編碼位于省或者直轄市那行的行尾。如果你留下的學校班級地址,則一般順序為:第一行寫

第二行寫系別,班級、專業。第三行寫學校(如果系和學校字數少,也可以寫在一行)第四行寫市(縣)省。可以每一行后都加上逗號

也可以行尾不加任何標點符號。此外,最后一行句號。名字要寫在地址之前。
