英語報刊選讀教學大綱
一、教學對象
本課程的教學對象是開放教育英語專業專科的學員。
二、課程性質、目的和要求
本課程為英語專業專科的選修課,開設時間為第五學期。本課程的教學目的是培養學生閱讀英語報刊的基本功。學生通過有目的、較系統地閱讀國內外英語報刊文章,逐漸掌握閱讀英語報刊時必備的背景知識,了解一些主要英美報刊的歷史、特點、政治立場和觀點等,同時對英語報刊常見的版面結構和編排方法等有所了解,掌握報刊英語的特點,擴大有關政治、經濟、軍事、法律等方面的詞匯,豐富自己的知識,從而為獨立閱讀各種英語報刊打下良好的基礎。通過該課程的學習,拓寬學生的文化視野,提高理解和分析問題的能力,培養對信息的敏感性及發掘、利用信息的能力。
三、教學內容、要點與課時安排
本課程采用的文字教材為《美英報刊文章閱讀》(精選本)和與其配套的《學習指導》(周學藝編著,北京大學出版社出版)。該教材由9個單元、29課書組成。文章涉及政治、經濟、環境保護、道德、宗教、戰爭、犯罪、科技、教育、文化、體育、藝術等各個領域。同時介紹新聞的一些基本特點和要素,幫助學生了解一些重要報刊的編排及背景、立場、發行量和影響力等情況。此外,通過英語報刊文章的閱讀讓學生有機會接觸一些較新的觀點和理論,并學會用批判的眼光分析這些觀點,培養正確的是非觀念。
本課程開設一學期,課內學時72,4學分,周學時4。
四、教學方法建議
本課程可介于精讀和泛讀之間進行講授,以幫助學生理解和掌握課文內容為主,講課時可交替使用英語和漢語。精讀的目的是為了幫助學生去泛讀未規定的教學內容。另外,要注重向學生介紹所涉及到的美英報刊的特點、報刊英語的風格等背景知識,以增加學生學習的趣味和積極性。
五、測試
本課程的測試以筆試為主,題型主要采用回答問題和譯述的形式。結合學生平時課堂表現及課后作業完成情況進行綜合評定。
六、成績評定
學生的綜合成績由形成性考核與終結性考核組成。形成性考核要求:學生必須完成平時作業,并積極參與課堂討論、網上答疑、書面作業等環節。
形成性考核所占比例為30%,終結性考核所占比例為70%。

全國國際商務英語考試簡介
