晚上好:

我剛跟喬治〃W〃布什談過話,祝賀他成為合眾國第43位總統(tǒng);我向他保證,這回絕不會再打電話給他追回原話了。

我提議盡快和他會面,盡快消除過去的競選運(yùn)動和官司所帶來的分歧。

差不多一個(gè)半世紀(jì)前,參議員道格拉斯對總統(tǒng)選舉擊敗自己的林肯說:“黨派的門戶之見必須讓路給愛國主義。我支持你,總統(tǒng)先生,愿主保佑你。”

那么,在這樣的精神下,我對候任總統(tǒng)布什說,我們一定要將黨派之爭結(jié)下的仇恨拋諸腦后,愿主保佑他好好管治這個(gè)國家。

“這條路是那么崎嶇漫長”

他和我誰都料想不到這條路是那么崎嶇漫長。當(dāng)然,我們誰也不希望這些事會發(fā)生。不過,事情到底來了,現(xiàn)在結(jié)束了,而且果然通過我們民主政體的機(jī)制解決了。

我國一所法律學(xué)院的圖書館上鐫刻著這樣的一句格言:“聽命于法與主,而非聽命于人”。這是美國自由的核心原則,也是民主自由之濫觴。在投票日之后的五個(gè)星期里,我以此為鑒,這也是美國獨(dú)立以來所有復(fù)雜事件的引鑒。

現(xiàn)在,美國最高法院終于做出了決定。讓我說得清楚一點(diǎn),在我極為不同意的同時(shí),我接受了最高法院的決定。我接受了最終的結(jié)果,下星期一，這個(gè)結(jié)果會在選舉人團(tuán)會議上得到確認(rèn)。今天晚上,為了國人的團(tuán)結(jié)和美國民主,我認(rèn)輸了。

我也負(fù)起責(zé)任,無條件支持新的候任總統(tǒng),盡我所能幫助他團(tuán)結(jié)美國人民,實(shí)現(xiàn)我國《獨(dú)立宣言》中所標(biāo)舉的廣袤視野,實(shí)現(xiàn)憲法中允諾和保障的一切。

讓我向那些支持我和支持我們所捍衛(wèi)的理念的人衷心致謝。蒂佩爾和我對利伯曼夫婦感悟中,他們?yōu)槲覀z的伙伴關(guān)系帶來懇切的熱誠和崇高的心志,不僅為競選活動開辟了新徑,也為我國開辟了新徑。

這次大選的確是非比尋常的一次大選。不過,在天意難料的崎嶇路途上,幾經(jīng)蹉跎,竟然把我們帶到一個(gè)嶄新的境地。正是由于選舉結(jié)果如此接近,反而提醒了我們原來大家同是一個(gè)族群,有著一樣的歷史、一樣的命運(yùn)。

“我們把國家放在政黨之上”

是的,那段歷史給了我們許多成敗浮沉的前車之鑒,在面對公眾意愿的兩難之下展開激烈的辯論、無情的抗?fàn)帯?/p>

有些爭論在纏訟幾個(gè)星期后才得以解決。每一次,勝方和被征服的一方都心平氣和地接受結(jié)局,帶著重歸于好精神接受結(jié)果。

因此,就讓這種精神永遠(yuǎn)和我們一起吧。

我知道很多支持我的人都很失望。我也失望。但失望必須讓給我們對國家的熱愛。我也對世界各國說,不要把這次爭論看成是美國趨弱的癥狀。通過克服這一連串困難,畢竟彰顯了美國民主的力量。

也有人擔(dān)心,這次選舉凸顯的反常狀況,勢必影響新一任總統(tǒng)的施政舉措。我不相信那是勢所必然。

候任總統(tǒng)布什要管治的美國,是一個(gè)國民都愿意在他肩負(fù)的重任上幫一把的國家。我個(gè)人隨時(shí)候命,也呼吁所有美國人,尤其是那些曾經(jīng)站在我這一邊的人,團(tuán)結(jié)在新總統(tǒng)的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下。這就是美國。愈是危急關(guān)頭,我們的斗志愈高昂;輸贏一定,我們捐棄嫌隙,攜手合作。

要辯論我們之間的歧異,那是來日方長了?，F(xiàn)在要認(rèn)清的是團(tuán)結(jié)我們的力量比拆散我們的力量更大。

我們對本黨的信念雖然不離不棄,眼前到底還有比黨務(wù)更高遠(yuǎn)的責(zé)任要負(fù)起。這就是美國,我們把國家放在政黨之上。我們會團(tuán)結(jié)支持新總統(tǒng)。

我接著會做什么,我還不知道。像你們一樣,我希望和家人及老朋友度假。我也會在家鄉(xiāng)田納西州修補(bǔ)一下籬笆——真實(shí)和象征的籬笆。

失利跟勝利一樣

有人問我曾否遺憾,是的,我有一樁憾事:我沒有機(jī)會在未來4年為國人打拼,尤其是亟欲拋開負(fù)擔(dān)、排除困難的一群;尤其是感到?jīng)]有人聽到他們的聲音的一群。我聽到了你們的呼聲,我永不會忘記。

我看到了大選中的美國,我很喜歡看到的那一切。那是值得一拼的,我不會罷休。

至于今晚偃旗息鼓的一役,我堅(jiān)信父親說過的一句話:不論敗得多慘,失利跟勝利一樣,滌蕩心靈,光耀千秋。

因此,對我而言,大選的結(jié)束和開始時(shí)一樣:照樣擁有妻子家人的愛;擁有對主的信念;擁有對這個(gè)我為它出征越南一直到做副總統(tǒng)的國家;擁有努力奔走的競選義工和工作人員,包括36天來在佛羅里達(dá)州奮力工作的人們。

如今,政治上的斗爭已成過去,我們轉(zhuǎn)過頭去為了美國人民的幸福而奮斗不懈,為全世界追求自由而對我們有所企望的人們而奮斗不懈。

在我們的贊歌《亞美利加,亞美利加》里說的:“讓我們以兄弟之愛為稱的善行加冕,從大海到閃亮的波濤?！?/p>

Good evening.Just moments ago i spoke with george.w.bush and congratulated him on becoming the 43rd president of the united states and i promised him that i wouldn't call him back this time.i offered to meet with him as soon as possible so that we can start to heal the divisons of the campaign and the contest through which we just passed.almost a century and a half ago senator stephen douglas told abraham lincoln who had just defeated him for the presidency “partisan feeling must yield to patriotism i’m with you mr.president and god bless you.”

well in that same spirit i say to president-elect bush that what remains of partisan rancor must now be put aside and may god bless his stewardship of this country.neither he nor i anticipated this long and difficult road.Certainly neither of us wanted it to happen.Yet it came and now it has ended resolved as it must be resolved through the honored institutions of our democracy.over the library of one of our great law schools is inscribed the motto “not under man but under god and law.”that’s the ruling principle of american freedom the source of our democratic liberties.I’ve tried to make it my guide throughout this contest as it has guided america’s deliberations of all the complex issues of the past five weeks.now the u.s supreme court has spoken.Let there be no doubt while i strongly disagree with the court's decision i accept it.I accept the finality of this outcome which will be ratified next monday in the electoral college and tonight for the sake of our unity as a people and the strength of our democracy i offer my concession.i also accept my responsibility which i will discharge unconditionally to honor the new president-elect and do everything possible to help him bring americans together in fulfillment of the great vision that our declaration of independence defines and that our constitution affirms and defends.let me say how grateful i am to all those who supported me and supported the cause for which we have fought.tipper and i feel a deep gratitude to joe and hadassah lieberman who brought passion and high purpose to our partnership and opened new doors not just for our campaign but for our country.this has been an extraordinary election.But in one of god’s unforeseen paths this belatedly broken impasse can point us all to a new common ground for its very closeness can serve to remind us that we are one people with a shared history and a shared destiny.indeed that history gives us many examples of contests as hotly debated as fiercely fought with their own challenges to the popular will.other disputes have dragged on for weeks before reaching resolution.and each time both the victor and the vanquished have accepted the result peacefully and in the spirit of reconciliation.so let it be with us.i know that many of my supporters are disappointed.i am too.But our disappointment must be overcome by our love of country.and i say to our fellow members of the world community let no one see this contest as a sign of american weakness the strength of american democracy is shown most clearly through the difficulties it can overcome.some have expressed concern that the unusual nature of this election might hamper the next president in the conduct of his office.I do not believe it need be so.president-elect bush inherits a nation whose citizens will be ready to assist him in the conduct of his large responsibilities.i personally will be at his disposal and i call on all americans-i particularly urge all who stood with us to unite being our next president.This is america.Just as we fight hard when the stakes are high we close ranks and come together when the contest is done.and while there will be time enough to debate our continuing differences now is the time to recognize that that which unites us is greater than that which divides us.while we yet hold and do not yield our opposing beliefs there is a higher duty than the one we owe to political party.this is america and we put country before party.we will stand together behind our new president.as for what i’ll do next i don’t know the answer to that one yet.Like many of you i’m looking forward to spending the holidays with family and old friends.i know i’ll spend time in tennessee and mend some fences literally and figuratively.some have asked whether i have any regrets and i do have one regret that i didn't get the chance to stay and fight for the american people over the next four years especially for those who need burdens lifted and barriers removed especially for those who feel their voices have not been heard i heard you and i will not forget.i've seen america in this campaign and i like what i see.It’s worth fighting for and that's a fight i'll never stop.as for the battle that ends tonight i do believe as my father once said that on matter how hard the loss defeat might serve as well as victory to shape the soul and let the glory out.so for me this campaign ends as it beganwith the love of tipper and our family with faith in god and in the country i have been so proud to serve from vietnam to the vice presidencyand with gratitude to our truly tireless campaign staff and volunteers including all those who worked so hard in florida for the last 36 days.now the political struggle is over and we turn again to the unending struggle for the common good of all americans and for those multitudes around the world who look to us for leadership in the cause of freedom.in the words of 謝謝大家在這里等，尤其下這么大的雨，大家還這樣情意相挺，大家等我們來，來跟大家說一聲：謝謝，謝謝大家！

我們在場的朋友、在電視機(jī)前面很多國人同胞，還有網(wǎng)絡(luò)上的網(wǎng)友，大家晚安。

對于今天2012年“總統(tǒng)”選舉的結(jié)果，我們敗選，我要在此向大家致上最深的歉意。

我們承認(rèn)敗選，也愿意接受臺灣人民在這次選舉里面所做的決定。我知道，很多支持者聽我這樣講或許會覺得心碎，可是在這里，我們還是要恭喜馬“總統(tǒng)”。希望他在往后四年，要傾聽人民的聲音，要用心執(zhí)政，要公平的照顧每一個(gè)人民，千萬不要辜負(fù)人民的期待。

我知道此刻大家的心情。今天，我相信有很多人原本期待勝利，但是，現(xiàn)實(shí)不盡如人意。但是，我要跟大家說，我們要堅(jiān)強(qiáng)，我們一定要堅(jiān)強(qiáng)，我們一定要比誰都堅(jiān)強(qiáng)。我們是民進(jìn)黨，我們過去在面對挫折的時(shí)候，我們從來沒有倒下過。以前不會，我知道，這一次也一定不會。

我要請大家回想一下，四年前，我們曾經(jīng)是這么的絕望，我們所要挑戰(zhàn)的山頂，曾經(jīng)被認(rèn)為是遙不可及。但是，我們咬著牙，整個(gè)黨團(tuán)結(jié)在一起，在這四年，一步一步的往前走。這一次，我們已經(jīng)接近山頂，我們還差一里路。

我要告訴大家，這樣的結(jié)果很遺憾，但是，我們不是一無所有：

我們對小額募款的堅(jiān)持，樹立了新的政治典范。我們提出的政策主張，在臺灣未來的發(fā)展中，依然扮演關(guān)鍵的力量。

最重要的是，我們所團(tuán)結(jié)的力量，是一股不可以忽視的力量，這一股力量，不能潰散，也不能消失。各位，你們真的不要懷憂喪志。臺灣不能沒有反對的 聲音，臺灣不能沒有制衡的力量。未來這四年，雖然我們沒有辦法以執(zhí)政者的角色，來實(shí)踐我們的理想;但是，這并不代表，在野就沒有力量。

我相信，只要大家繼續(xù)站在我們身后，給我們支持，給我們鞭策，我們一定還有未來！下一次，我們一定可以走完最后一里路！

接下來，我要以民主進(jìn)步黨主席的身分，感謝大家對民主進(jìn)步黨“立委”提名人的支持，讓民進(jìn)黨的“國會”席次成長。他們未來，會在“立法院”扮演人民的代言人，會把人民的困難放在心上，努力提升公共政策的質(zhì)量，讓每一個(gè)“國民”都得到最好的照顧。

民進(jìn)黨的轉(zhuǎn)型跟改革，不會停止。我們堅(jiān)持和弱勢人民站在一起，我們堅(jiān)持政策理性，我們堅(jiān)持以小額募款擺脫對財(cái)團(tuán)的依賴。我們會一直做下去，總有一天，我們會贏得多數(shù)人民的信任。

雖然我們很努力，但是，我們要完成最后的理想，這條路比我們想象得更漫長，我們還可以做得更好。面對今天的結(jié)果，民進(jìn)黨會認(rèn)真的做一個(gè)檢討，會把它當(dāng)作一個(gè)警惕。

敗選的責(zé)任，由我一肩扛起來。我剛剛已經(jīng)宣布，辭去民主進(jìn)步黨的黨主席。我相信，下一任的黨主席，一定會堅(jiān)持，繼續(xù)堅(jiān)持民進(jìn)黨的改革轉(zhuǎn)型，帶領(lǐng)大家繼續(xù)走下去。

最后，蔡英文也要以個(gè)人的身分，感謝大家一路相伴。這四年，是很美好的旅程，我們一起并肩作戰(zhàn)，在我的心中，你們不只是投票給我的人，你們是我最好的伙伴。

今天晚上，我相信大家心里都很難過，如果你心里真的很難過，就讓它發(fā)泄出來。你可以哭泣，但不要泄氣。你可以悲傷，但是不要放棄。因?yàn)槊魈炱饋?，我們要像過去四年一樣的勇敢，心里充滿著希望。因?yàn)椋覀儽仨氂赂业?扛起這個(gè)“國家”的責(zé)任，我們必須樂觀地，繼續(xù)為臺灣這塊土地打拼。

無論我們在哪個(gè)位置上，這個(gè)“國家”，都需要我們繼續(xù)愛她、呵護(hù)她。

同樣，我也要向國際社會上我們的伙伴們說，不要把這場競爭看做是美國脆弱的象征。美國民主的力量已經(jīng)在它克服困難的過程中極為清楚的顯現(xiàn)出來了。

有些人或許會擔(dān)心這次競選極不尋常的性質(zhì)將會妨礙狹義的總統(tǒng)履行職責(zé)，我認(rèn)為這種擔(dān)心是沒有必要的。

本屆當(dāng)選總統(tǒng)布什，接手了這樣一個(gè)國家：在他履行重大責(zé)任時(shí)，這個(gè)國家的公民將愿意給予協(xié)助。

對于每一位支持我的朋友，我是衷心的感激，我落敗了。我祝賀梁振英先生當(dāng)選，我寄語梁振英先生在未來的5年要用心執(zhí)政，維護(hù)一國兩制，高度自治，多聽民意，公平照顧每一位市民，尊重我們香港多元包容的文化，使得香港走向良政善治的社會，繼續(xù)為國家發(fā)揮香港獨(dú)特的優(yōu)勢。這次的選舉是充滿挑戰(zhàn)，我犯過錯，我感謝我的太太，感謝我的家人，我的朋友以及市民給我的寬恕，給我的機(jī)會。

今天的落敗并非是終結(jié)，我服務(wù)市民的心至今不變，我會繼續(xù)在不同的崗位上服務(wù)社會，我會和大家站在同一陣線，爭取五年后一人一票普選行政長官，一起去投票站投給一個(gè)自己真心支持的候選人。我衷心的感激大家一直以來，我們很多機(jī)會見面的，我特別要感謝是我的競選團(tuán)隊(duì)和我的忠實(shí)支持者，他們?yōu)槲腋冻隽撕芏唷?/p>

Indeed, without realizing it, we have begun to wage war on the earth itself.Now, we and the earth's climate are locked in a relationship familiar to war planners: “Mutually assured destruction.”

Just as Hull's generation found moral authority in rising to solve the world crisis caused by fascism, so can we find our greatest opportunity in rising to solve the climate crisis.In the Kanji characters used in both Chinese and Japanese, “crisis” is written with two symbols, the first meaning “danger,” the second “opportunity.” By facing and removing the danger of the climate crisis, we have the opportunity to gain the moral authority and vision to vastly increase our own capacity to solve other crises that have been too long ignored.We must understand the connections between the climate crisis and the afflictions of poverty, hunger, HIV-Aids and other pandemics.As these problems are linked, so too must be their solutions.We must begin by making the common rescue of the global environment the central organizing principle of the world community.正如Cordell Hull的那一代人面對法西斯納粹的威脅，而不畏兇險(xiǎn)的努力奮斗，同樣我們也應(yīng)該以同樣的勇氣和決心來應(yīng)對這場氣候危機(jī)。在中國和日本使用的漢字中“危機(jī)”這個(gè)詞有兩個(gè)漢字來組成，一個(gè)是危險(xiǎn)的意思，另一個(gè)則是機(jī)遇的意思。面對和解決這場氣候危機(jī)的威脅，我們可以獲得更大的道德權(quán)威和遠(yuǎn)見卓識來解決其他的人類長期面臨卻一直被拖延的危機(jī)與問題。我們必須認(rèn)識到氣候危機(jī)與人類貧困的蔓延，饑荒和艾滋病的肆虐等等其他災(zāi)難的連接。這些災(zāi)難和問題都是互相聯(lián)系的，我們的解決方法也必須互相結(jié)合。我們必須將團(tuán)結(jié)一致拯救全球環(huán)境作為人類社會的最高組織原則。

The outcome will be decisively influenced by two nations that are now failing to do enough: the United States and China.While India is also growing fast in importance, it should be absolutely clear that it is the two largest CO2 emitters ¨C most of all, my own country ¨C that will need to make the boldest moves, or stand accountable before history for their failure to act.但是這場全球合作的結(jié)果制約于兩個(gè)國家：美國和中國，這兩個(gè)國家的影響至關(guān)重要，但是又都做的遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不夠。印度的重要性也是越來越凸顯出來。我們必須清醒的認(rèn)識到，現(xiàn)在這兩個(gè)全球最大的Co2排放國必須采取最勇敢的措施或者必將為他們的錯誤行為來站在歷史的審判臺上承擔(dān)責(zé)任。指其中最重要的就是我的祖國：美國。

Both countries should stop using the other's behavior as an excuse for stalemate and instead develop an agenda for mutual survival in a shared global environment.這兩個(gè)國家應(yīng)該不再使用對方的行為，作為自己不作為的借口，來制造僵局，而應(yīng)當(dāng)為了全球環(huán)境下的共同生存而共同商議對策。
