看電影學(xué)英語

初級水平：《老友記》，從發(fā)音到對話，從常用詞匯積累到了解老美的思維方式，只要你肯抽時間看上個十幾二十遍，你會發(fā)現(xiàn)自己的英文水平會有非常大的提升。

中級水平：《絕望主婦》，用詞和語言非常標準，想對于《老友記》增加了更多的英文長句，很適合進一步提升英語水平。

如果你在利用美劇學(xué)習(xí)的時候很依賴字幕，那么你的英語水平就很難提高了。比較靠譜的做法是：找到一部適合自己的美劇，看一遍帶中文字幕的了解劇情，然后再看幾遍帶雙語字幕的，把生詞和句型記下來進行學(xué)習(xí)。掌握生詞和句子后，不帶任何字幕再看幾遍，你會發(fā)現(xiàn)自己已經(jīng)開始聽懂對白，了解主人公的想法和思維模式了，這時候乘勝追擊再多聽幾遍，進行跟讀和模仿，如果你發(fā)現(xiàn)做這一切的時候?qū)δ悴辉倮щy，那么恭喜你，你的英語已經(jīng)更上一層了。

要邊看邊記筆記：在學(xué)習(xí)時首先注意發(fā)音。其次，了解文化，用詞和句式使用是否準確直接體現(xiàn)對異國文化了解的程度。還要準備好筆和紙，做好隨時停頓和記錄的準備。不過，記錄的時候最好不要分析思考和嘗試記憶，待整個章節(jié)觀看完畢之后，在統(tǒng)一回顧和整理。

Adore 有好幾種意思，我們一起來看一下：

A.If you adore someone, you feel great love and admiration for him or her.敬愛，敬重；愛慕

e.g.She adored her parents and would do anything to please them.B.If you adore something, you like it very much.非常喜歡，癡迷 e.g.I adore apple very much and eat two a day.2.make an offer

這是口語中很常用的詞組，其意義取決于作為名詞的offer一詞的不同含義，如在電影《情歸巴黎》中有一句臺詞是：

You never said a word about planning to make an offer to Patrick.（關(guān)于你要跟Patrick合并的事情你一個字都沒提過。）

這里的翻譯是意譯，我們可以看出來make an offer是“出價”的意思。

而在本電影的臺詞里，這個make an offer的意思顯然不同，應(yīng)該是“求婚”的意思。offer一詞本身就有“求婚”的意思，所以“向某人求婚”我們可以說propose to sb.或者make an offer to sb.3.put paid to 結(jié)束……，了結(jié)……（口語）

這是一個挺有意思的短語，If an unexpected event puts paid to someone's hopes, chances, or plans, it completely ends or destroys them.主要在說英式英語的國家中使用。

The series of terrible blind dates put paid to her dream of an ideal marriage.一系列可怕的相親斷送了她對理想婚姻的夢想。

4.end up/end up with 以……結(jié)束，以……告終

If you end up doing something or end up in a particular state, you do that thing or get into that state even though you did not originally intend to.e.g.Every time they went dancing they ended up in a bad mood.他們每次出去跳舞都不歡而散。

2.dote on If you say you dote on a person or a thing, it means you love or care about them very much and ignore any faults they may have.中文里就是“寵愛，溺愛；過分喜愛”。比如“她溺愛她的兒子”就可以說成 She dotes on her youngest son.3.accomplished 多才多藝的；熟練的；完成的

說到“多才多藝”，大家馬上想到詞的可能是 versatile，accomplished 這個詞比 versatile 還要高一個等級，差不多到了專家的程度，而 versatile 多用來指“能勝任??”。例如：

an accomplished lady 一個才女 an accomplished pianist 有造詣的鋼琴家 an accomplished facts 不容爭辯的事實 4.get/stand in one's way / be in the way

這是口語里特別常用的詞組，意思是“擋路，妨礙”。我們來看兩個例子： e.g.1)Keep on going with your reading.Don't let me stand in your way.2)You're in the way, would you please move aside? 文化面面觀

e.g.They shouldn't have made such a hasty decision.另外在漢語中我們的一句成語“欲速則不達”跟hasty的同根詞haste有關(guān)，英語中有兩種表達：

3.I'm the last woman in the world who could make you happy.這種句型的基本結(jié)構(gòu)是“the last+名詞+定語從句”，表達最大程度的否定或者不贊成。本句話的意思是：我是這個世界上最不可能帶給你幸福的女人。

e.g.To be a teacher is the last thing in the world that I could do.我最不愿意干的事就是當老師。

This city is the last place that I want to live in the world.我最不愿意生活的地方就是這個城市。

4.flatter oneself that

If you flatter yourself that something good is the case, you believe that it is true, although others may disagree.自鳴得意，自以為

e.g.They flattered themselves that they would win.他們自以為會一定獲勝。

Flatter一詞還有一些其它用法：

If someone flatters you, they praise you in an exaggerated way that is not sincere, because they want to please you or to persuade you to do something.奉承，諂媚

e.g.I knew she was just flattering me, because she wanted me to buy her scarf.此外flattering和flattered在口語中的出現(xiàn)頻率也很高，flattering繼承了flatter的意思，作為形容詞的時候有“諂媚的，討好的”意思，但是也有“討人喜歡的”意思，如： How flattering your company is since so many other companies are after you.你看你們公司多招人喜歡，那么多其他公司都跟在你們屁股后面轉(zhuǎn)。但是flattered的意思有所不同，If you feel flattered by something that has happened, you are pleased about it because it makes you feel important or special.表示“受寵若驚”的意思 e.g.I feel flattered by what you said.你的話讓我受寵若驚。

怎樣提高聽力，怎樣擴大詞匯量，怎樣不斷地培養(yǎng)、保持及增強對英語的興趣？在你的詞匯量達到一定的程度并且詞匯的發(fā)音較標準的前提下，建議從看肥皂劇和歐美電影開始訓(xùn)練聽力。因為英文電影語言生動有趣接近生活，有視覺背景，有故事背景，可令你在非常放松的環(huán)境下學(xué)習(xí)英語，同時體驗西方文化與中國文化的不同。

相信你以前也考慮到這條途徑但是不得其法。你的詞匯量很大但是可能不懂得用法，擔心看電影會有不認識的詞匯就打開英文字幕，結(jié)果看電影變成了閱讀，后來覺得看英文字幕總有不認識的詞匯很不爽，就改成了中文字幕。結(jié)果電影看了N部結(jié)果就學(xué)會了shit,fuck......這樣幾個單詞.那么該如何看英文電影才能得法地既欣賞了電影本身又不知不覺地提高了英語呢？ 1.首先，在看英文版的電影之前，先說一下版本的問題。

請不要看VCD版，以及RM，RMVB，ASF等等版本。因為這些版本的字幕是去不掉的，而且往往是中文字幕。而我們要看的是可以隱藏字幕的版本。這樣的話目前只有兩種版本是可以選擇的，DVD版本和DVDRip標準壓縮格式的或DIVX－XVID系列兼容的AVI版本。我之所以推薦使用這些版本，因為這類文件的字幕是外掛的，可以通過播放軟件選擇語種，也可以屏蔽字幕，可以方便的實現(xiàn)某一片斷反復(fù)播放，而且如果在網(wǎng)上DOWN到的版本不理想，可以再重新DOWN。如果字幕的版本不理想，可以到http://.cn射手網(wǎng)搜索下載，是全免費的。

2.下面來說看什么電影的問題。

首先要明確什么類型的電影會提高你的英語，絕對不是槍戰(zhàn)片，恐怖片，悲劇片。看槍戰(zhàn)片1個半小時聽不見幾句話，還學(xué)什么英語。看恐怖片嚇都嚇死了，還學(xué)什么英語。看悲劇只顧著哭去了，心情不爽還學(xué)什么英語。這些片子不是說不讓你看，而是不推薦你用來學(xué)英語。還有，比較古老的片子不推薦使用，像“魂斷蘭橋”，“飄”，“音樂之聲”，這些片子里面的語言現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)不太常用了。要學(xué)英語就要看近期的電影，因為里面有經(jīng)常要用，必須要用的語言。在選片時要從看電影學(xué)英語的八大原則來選片。

1.簡單的原則。不要一上來就選擇內(nèi)容高深莫測的電影。

2.背誦的原則。對于電影對白中的精彩片段最好背誦下來。

3.重復(fù)的原則。一部電影要反復(fù)地觀看多遍，直到不用字幕也可以完全看懂聽懂的地步。

4.精范結(jié)合的原則。拿出幾個電影仔細地分析學(xué)習(xí)。同時也可以泛看一些你喜歡的電影。

5.模仿的原則。對于經(jīng)典的電影，要模仿其中的各種角色的對白。

6.突擊的原則。盡量在短時間內(nèi)突破，不討拖延太長的時間。

7.根據(jù)發(fā)音標準的演員選擇電影。以便于你模仿出漂亮的語音。

所以你應(yīng)該知道了，學(xué)英語的片子應(yīng)該是生活片，里面有大量的對白，應(yīng)該選喜劇片，保證你學(xué)習(xí)的愉快心情。

當然并不是說上面沒有推薦的電影就不值得觀看，只要是你喜歡的英文電影，都可以觀看，只要你用心，總會從中學(xué)到很多東西的。

3.怎樣看才能有效地學(xué)習(xí)英語的問題

關(guān)于通過看電影學(xué)英語的方法，新東方的俞敏洪，杜偉老師建議：

1)先看2－3遍沒有字幕的.2)再看一遍有字幕的。

3)如果還搞不定，下載該電影的劇本，把劇本過一遍，先把劇本搞定（這已經(jīng)是閱讀問題了）.4)這時再看一遍有英文字幕的，保證看著字幕理解是沒有問題的。

5)然后再看沒有字幕的，這樣下來如果完全能聽懂的話，聽力是沒有問題了。6)最后一項是邊看邊跟讀，模仿各種人物的每一句話，就像你是個配音演員，要做

到惟妙惟肖。

對于要精看的電影，一定要有電影的script,這樣才能學(xué)習(xí)到更多的東西。你可以到http://使用電影的英文名字＋空格＋script進行搜索，就可以找到該劇本的下載。需要注意的是，一開始你看英文字幕總有想要知道確切中文意思的愿望，就是有英文->中文->意思，才能理解，我希望在這個過程中把你訓(xùn)練成英文->意思，直接的轉(zhuǎn)換。這樣才有助于你形成美語的思維和思考問題的方式。4.看電影學(xué)英語的效果如何

選好片子以后，可以重復(fù)地看一部片子，也可以同時重復(fù)的看幾部，這樣不會看膩。如果能將三部片子看透，模仿語音語調(diào)正確并能背誦，一般英語口語即可過關(guān)。用以上的方法可能6－8個月360個小時就能聽說全解決。甚至可以達到老師的水平。在看電影的同時，一定要注意的是文化和思維的差異，以及價值觀和生活習(xí)慣的不同。

3.掌握訣竅

別以為把一部電影重復(fù)看十次，英語就能進步，你要懂得方法，重點學(xué)習(xí)，學(xué)什么呢？學(xué)劇中人的遣詞用字，想想他們?yōu)槭裁催@么說，看看他們?nèi)绾螌⒄Z言靈活運用于情境之中，如果可以的話，最好還要學(xué)學(xué)他們展現(xiàn)在語言上的幽默，這一點最為困難，即使是苦讀英語十年的人也不一定學(xué)得來。照這么說來，利用電影學(xué)英語其實工程浩大，無法一蹴可幾，這種自我學(xué)習(xí)是重質(zhì)不重量，只要功夫下的扎實，就算你每次只花十五分鐘或半小時來學(xué)習(xí)一小片段，也綽綽有余了。

3.2 了解劇情概要

自己玩玩“Watch and Tell”的游戲，試著用英語概述情節(jié)大綱，或者針對電影探討的主題，用自己的話表達個人看法，訓(xùn)練口說能力。

3.3 選擇片段學(xué)習(xí)

用電影來學(xué)英語，不用強求自己每一個字每一句話都要聽懂了，百分之百確定了，才要繼續(xù)往下看，這樣反而會阻礙了學(xué)習(xí)的興趣。其實當你畫出如上所示的concept map，就可以幫助你回憶劇情，你只要挑出重點段落，分段來學(xué)習(xí)就行了。拿上圖來舉例，其中有個片段描述吊兒郎當?shù)墓钌仙虻谋丬囍螅瑸榱舜虬l(fā)時間，總要打開話匣子，于是想跟莎莉聊聊life story，兩人在車內(nèi)的這段對白就有好幾處值得留意：

Harry: Why don’t you tell me the story of your life? ? We’ve got 18 hours to kill before we hit New York.Sally: The story of my life isn’t even going to get us out of Chicago.I mean nothing’s happened to me yet.That’s why I’m going to New York.? I can go into journalism school to become a reporter.Harry: So you can write about things that happen to other people.Sally: That’s one way to look at it.Harry: Suppose nothing happens to you.Suppose you lived out your whole life and nothing happens.You never meet anybody, you never become anything, and finally you die in one of those New York deaths which nobody notices for two weeks until the smell drifts into the hallway.「打發(fā)時間」叫“kill time”，這段路程要18 小時，所以哈利說“we’ve got 18 hours to kill”，另外，“hit”在這里引申為「抵達目的地」的意思。莎莉的回答可絕了，“The story of my life isn’t even going to get us out of Chicago.”，字面上的意思是車子還沒駛離芝加哥，可能就把她的一生全講光了，其實就是說她的生活平淡無奇，沒什么好說的。你看看這句話里沒有一個難字，但是聽起來多么生動貼切啊！這就是我們要學(xué)起來的。后來哈利嘲諷她，一個什么都沒經(jīng)歷過的人（哈利尤其是在暗諷莎莉缺乏男女經(jīng)驗），要怎么成為報導(dǎo)他人經(jīng)歷的記者？最后還叫莎莉當心成為紐約的獨居老人，說不定死了兩周傳出尸臭味了，才被人發(fā)現(xiàn)唷！（drift是漂/飄流的意思）像這樣只有幾分鐘的對白，就可自成一個段落，反復(fù)看個幾次，不僅學(xué)到了字詞的用法，還能看看兩人一句來一句去之間所展現(xiàn)的幽默。

3.4 從影片中記單字詞組

是否很多人都有這種感覺？英文課本整理的單字或詞組，背的愈多，忘的也不少，單單覆誦那些字母的組合，根本與字義兜不起來，更別提拿出來用，當然會「今日背，今日忘」。但是看著電影來學(xué)就不同了，透過劇情及影像，可以強化這個字在我們腦子里的印象，而且當你隨著劇中人物跟讀(shadowing)，還能順便模仿發(fā)音及語氣等等。例如，obnoxious洛基Rocky在線英語教育平臺

意思是「討人厭的」，在準備托福留學(xué)考試的字匯書里，這個字被列為要達六百分以上的必背單字，由此可知它的難度，別說要把它記起來，連要發(fā)音都有點難，可是，如果你透過莎莉來學(xué)，效果肯定倍增。當哈利躲在書店一角偷偷瞄著莎莉，莎莉轉(zhuǎn)頭對朋友說“He's obnoxious.”，那種不屑的表情是不是更增添了這個字的意味？影片中還出現(xiàn)另一個前綴“ob-”的單字－“obituary”，指的是「訃聞」，這個單字一般會話不常提及，不太好記，但是看看愛說笑的哈利是怎么說的：

“? What’s so hard about finding an apartment? What you do is you read the obituary column.You find out who died, go to the building and tip the doorman.What they could do to make it easier is combine the obituaries with the real estate section.Then you have, “Mr.Klein died today, leaving a wife, two children and a spacious three-bedroom apartment with a wood burning fireplace.”

哈利說朋友都安慰他離婚后至少還保有房子，可是找房子有什么難的，只要翻翻報紙的訃聞，看誰死了，就去接手他的房子甚至家庭，要是報社把房屋租售的版面跟訃聞擺在一起，那就更方便了。聽了哈利這段自嘲的話，是不是對“obituary”這個字比較有印象了呢？

3.5 看劇中人運用情境會話

「英文學(xué)了這么多年，背也背過了，考也考過了，可是一碰到真正要開口說英語的機會，總是腦筋一片空白，不曉得那些句型都跑到哪兒去了？」原因無他，光是背誦課本那種A跟B硬梆梆的對話，當然沒用嘍！舉例來說，一般的會話課本中，必定會學(xué)到上館子點菜，課本里的例句似乎永遠只有“How would you like your steak?” “Well done, please.”之類的答案，這種標準對話在真實生活中好像不太夠用，萬一侍者多問你一句，是不是就慌了呢？莎莉可不一樣，從前菜到甜點樣樣講求完美精準，哈利稱她是great orderer，現(xiàn)在就來學(xué)學(xué)莎莉的「龜毛」點菜法：

Waitress: What can I get you?

Harry: I’ll have a number 3.Sally: I’d like the chef’s salad, please, with the oil and vinegar on the side, and the apple pie.?

Sally: ? I’d like the pie heated, and I want the ice cream on the side.And I’d like strawberry instead of vanilla, if you have it.If not, then no ice cream, just whipped cream, but only if it’s real.If it’s out of a can, then nothing.Waitress: Not even the pie?

Sally: No, just the pie, but then not heated.請注意這家餐廳不過是公路旁賣簡餐的diner，哈利用的是「麥當勞式」的點法「3 號餐」，簡單了事，而看莎莉點菜簡直太神奇了，雖然點的是沙拉，可是橄欖油及醋汁要放在旁邊，不能淋上去喔！說到甜點更是精采，“à la mode”源自法文，就是在甜點上面加一球冰淇淋，莎莉特別強調(diào)如果有冰淇淋，蘋果派就要加熱，冰淇淋要放在旁邊，而且只要草莓口味，不然就放whipped cream（鮮奶油）就好，不過鮮奶油要現(xiàn)打的，罐裝擠出來的她可不要。哇！原來點餐也可以這么靈活，習(xí)慣背課本的人要注意了，趕快丟掉那種制式的對話吧！

3.6 留意文化差異

在美國，學(xué)生花錢是能省則省，所以讓人搭便車或共乘是常有的事，不僅車租或油錢可以共同分擔，如果是長途旅行，還可以輪流換手開車。影片中，哈利一上車，一板一眼的莎莉就要跟他討論怎么輪流開車：

“I have it all figured out.It’s an 18-hour trip which breaks down into 6 shifts of three hours each or alternatively we could break it down by mileage.”

“alternatively”用于提出另一種不同的建議選擇或替代方案。莎莉的意思是她都算好了，從芝加哥到紐約要花18 小時，看是要分成六段輪流開車（shift是輪班），每次三小時，還是要用哩程數(shù)來分。

我學(xué)習(xí)電影有一段時間了，同時看過英語九百句，走遍美國等等，走過不少的彎路，現(xiàn)在回過頭來總結(jié)總結(jié)，也和大家分享分享我的看法。

1.電影學(xué)習(xí)的特點

首先就電影這種題材來講，我覺得有它的優(yōu)勢和它的局限性，它的局限性在于，任何一部原版的電影，它都不是用來教學(xué)語言的，所以它的語言有很大的隨意性，規(guī)范不規(guī)范，還有各種語音都摻雜其中，如果不加分析，一概拿來，勢必會攪亂方向，而且就一部電影而言，它的場景，人物都有一定的限制。這方面一些經(jīng)典的語言教材有它的優(yōu)越性，它們涵蓋了幾乎全部的英語場景，但是覆蓋面太廣，造成它的語言比較簡單和單一。電影的優(yōu)點就是他本身是要說故事，尤其是其中的人物矛盾沖突，所以它的語言豐富多彩，能真正反映人物的心里的語言，我覺得這一部分才是語言的精華。因為語言本身就是那來應(yīng)用，交流的。所以我覺得電影和那些教材是相互補充的，還有一點好的是電影的題材非常豐富，我認為除了在一些反映現(xiàn)代的影片中學(xué)習(xí)實用的東東，還可以在一些名著改編的電影中欣賞語言，如（哈姆雷特）。下面我按照思維，句詞和語音三方面來談；

2.電影的思維

我講的思維不是那種高不可攀，什么那些美國人獨特的文化，和思維習(xí)慣，我可沒有在美國待過數(shù)十年，我講的思維就是人在對話中所表現(xiàn)的想法，還有在那種對話中所體現(xiàn)洛基Rocky在線英語教育平臺

打造國內(nèi)最大的英語教育平臺 的思維方式，這一點我感覺和咱們平時說話一樣，在我們平時的說話中，我認為人的對話有兩種方式，一種是單純的你在表達觀點，其他人基本在聽你的，是不是插插嘴而已，還有一種是兩個人針鋒相對，我們聽這兩人的對話，缺少任何一個就不完整了。我們在中文的語境下想想如何來有效的進行交流，譬如我的同學(xué)中，就有人喜歡打機關(guān)槍似的說個半天，我們就會認為這人口才好，但下來去問問聽眾，有時聽眾都沒聽懂，甚至根本走神了，這樣的交流有什么用 ？就像你用英語說了個半天，但是what is the point？這才是最重要的，電影這方面的對話甚至相當于獨白一樣，它的語言一定間接而有，有時接收者的語言就是在承上啟下，挑起話源，達到交流的目的。例如畢業(yè)生中，本地此在飯店里，猶豫不定的語言，加上羅賓遜夫人插進的語言就是這種。在第二種針鋒相對似的，你可留意對話中連接點，你說一句我接著上句說你，這就是用對話中的語言，它們語言中連接點就是閃光點。同時因為影片中都是英美人之間的對話，可以讓我們看看他們是怎樣去表達統(tǒng)一各想法和性格的，我們拿畢業(yè)生中羅賓遜夫婦為例，羅賓遜先生的語言從他與本的兩次談話可以看出，第一次是醉醺醺的教導(dǎo)本及時行樂，第二次在本的租的公寓里對話中，就看出這人的‘虛’來，先是拿兩句話擠兌本，“我哪里得罪你了，我是不是做了是么讓你瞧不起的事”然后模糊見本握著拳頭過來，又跳起來說：咱們文明人，用不著這么粗魯吧！”，羅賓遜夫人在和本那一晚上的交談中，也可看出她的事故，基本上沒有一點套話，真正的惜言如金，直到談到女兒時才失去常態(tài)，這些情節(jié)是多么的生活化，與我們的生活多么接近，然后咱們可以再想想，遇到那種情況，我們會作何反應(yīng)，當你想到說的中文時，是讓自己閱歷豐富了點，在轉(zhuǎn)到英文，就練了漢反英，甚至根據(jù)人物的思維反推的語言，再去對照。

3.電影的句子和詞匯

而句型和詞匯方面，先將詞匯我把他們分為兩個大面，即書面中和口語中的，也可是fml和infml，而電影中多是口語上的，這其中有可分為場景專用詞和口語的慣用詞，在市面的書中場景詞和慣用詞通常和起來講，我覺得那些場景的專用詞靠記憶就可以攻破，而一些慣用詞需要靈活掌握的詞，這些也是經(jīng)常在對話中卡殼的詞，電影中出現(xiàn)平率非常高的就是這些詞，我在畢業(yè)生中找了一些，如ever，or something，happen，deal等，應(yīng)該將它們的用法和搭配掌握熟練。關(guān)鍵在講透。再說說句子，拿市面上一些教場景的教材來說，譬如一個場景，一個問候列了很多句子供你選，這方面有人是強調(diào)背大量的句子，我覺得要光是背實際上就是量的積累，其中應(yīng)有質(zhì)的突破，弄清句子的使用環(huán)境，然后比較它們，再自己造句，這方面去看看電影里各種人物對話，由于人物所處的背景和心情不同，句子和詞選取就更生活化。確實在英語學(xué)習(xí)中的積累是必不可少的，而且大量更有好處，我認為同時重點突出，我認為能提高效率，節(jié)約時間，與其死背了百部電影，不如研究透一部電影的句詞。

4.電影的語音

在學(xué)習(xí)語音上我覺得一直有個誤區(qū)，就是過于追求語音上的地道，我總認為語言的作用就是交流，語音是它的包裝，而且從學(xué)習(xí)的效率上來講，我覺得語音要來的慢些，而且它的標準很模糊，說別人語音好，其實有些是關(guān)乎本身的嗓音，有些人說中文的嗓音就很磁性，再說英文就更好聽，二我覺得語音的訓(xùn)練要長時間，但是不必追求的太過了，如果沒有語言的簡潔和地道，光剩下漂亮的語音，又有什么用呢？ 至于在語音過程中的繞口令等等都是不錯的方法，這方面標準的美國電影也是一個模版，就不再多說了。

5.總結(jié)

電影學(xué)習(xí)的順序，思維-句詞-語音。

先感受電影中對話的思維，實際上就是其情節(jié)的表現(xiàn)就是語感，容易在短時間掌握，僅限在這部電影中，然后有重點的記憶句詞，最后是長時間模仿語音。
