寫作課反思

每周一次的作文課,我分為兩個部分,上次作文的講評,本次作文的講解。

就所教班級的學生水平,他們能去寫作文,但質量不高,語法錯誤很多。就這種情況,在作文的講評這一環節,我將學生典型錯誤句子打印出來,以改錯題的形式讓學生改錯,自己所犯的錯自己第二次去改正,很多學生還是能發現,這樣,一方面練習了改錯能力,也進一步鞏固了所學的知識。

英語寫作中普遍存在的問題

1.中式英語

學生用英語寫作時經常受漢語思維影響把漢語中一些詞匯或表達方式直接套用到英語中去,于是就產生了我們經常說的所謂“Chinglish”。有些學生已經有了比較好的立意和表達意向,而且也擁有進行表達所需的詞匯量?語法和句法知識,然而一寫作文就捉襟見肘?錯誤百出。原因何在?主要是由于對英語的句子結構以動詞為中心,同時各有特定的搭配把握不牢固。很多學生在寫作時經常缺乏表達思想的語感,運用能力較差,無法確切把握在某種情境下該用什么詞?該怎么使用,因而經常有漢英詞對詞生硬翻譯的現象。

2.詞匯方面 |

寫作測試學生英語單詞的再現能力,在考試中學生單詞基礎不扎實的問題很輕易暴露出來。有的學生反映說很多單詞很熟悉,但不知為什么寫作文時就是想不起來或者用錯地方或者拼寫不正確。這也反映出學生記單詞過程的誤區。

二?改進英語寫作教與學的策略

1.注重培養學生的英語思維方式

思維方式制約著語言的表達習慣。思維是寫作活動的基礎,寫作不僅是語言活動,而且是思維活動。不同民族的社會環境和文化特征必然會形成不同的思維模式,思維模式的差異正是造成語言差異的重要原因。正如語言大師呂叔湘先生在《中國人學英語》(修訂本)中談道的:“我相信,對于中國學生最有用的幫助是讓他熟悉英語和漢語的差別……讓他通過比較得到更深刻的領會。”由于學生在寫作時所進行的推理大多是由母語承擔的,由于受漢文化思維慣性的影響和干擾,輕易在英語表達上產生負遷移現象。消除負遷移的要害在于把握英語思維方式。因此,我們在教學中應有意識地結合教授內容引導學生發現?比較英漢思維模式的差異,培養學生洞察文化差異的自覺意識,幫助學生容忍?順應這些差異,使其逐步養成用英語思維的習慣,最終達到正確?規范?恰當地用英語傳遞語言信息的目的。

2.注重培養學生的英語語法的運用能力

任何語言都有自己特有的表達方式,英語也不例外。我們學習英語,就是要學習其特有的表達方式。有名語言學家呂叔湘先生說過:英語就是英語,漢語就是漢語。他是告誡中國學生要分清英語和漢語的表達方式,不要把二者混同起來。近年來,雖然高考英語測試加大了主觀題的比例,但是從測試結果來分析,寫作仍然是學生最薄弱的環節。究其原因,英語語法知識在寫作表達中的運用是大部分學生的主要問題。傳統的英語教學往往只注重理論條條框框的灌輸,語言信息的輸入主要靠講解語法,教學組織圍繞著應試而進行,學生為了學語法而學語法,為了考試而學語法。習得的語法信息大部分是領會式語法,其結果是,假如做純粹的語法題,他們大部分能做對,但是在自己的實際寫作中這種語法錯誤經常出現。例如:

你從哪來?Where are you come from?

我父親經常釣魚。My father often go to fish.我想他不會來了。I think he won' t come.每人必須做好自己的工作。Everybody should do good self work.另外漢語中的一些習慣搭配,比如:“雖然……但是……”;“因為……所以……”;“既然……就……”等,在句子中不能被拆散使用。英語在詞的搭配方面有其自身特點。英文中兩者只能用一個,例如用了because(因為)就不能用so(所以);用了although(盡管)就不能用but(但是);漢語中條件句一般放在主句前邊,而英語則在主句之后等。但是中國學生在英語寫作中經常出現類似的錯誤。

這些在高考作文中經常出現的語法錯誤足以說明,學生的語法概念并不清楚,最起碼是在實際運用中不清楚。所以,在教學中教師應有意識地注重培養學生在實際寫作中有關語法方面的應用能力。

3.注重擴大學生的表達式詞匯量

語言的最基本要素之一是詞匯,要表達自己的思想必須要有足夠的詞匯量。眾所周知,英語詞匯分領會式詞匯和表達式(復用式)詞匯。領會式詞匯是指熟悉但是在講話和寫作時不常用的詞匯,表達式詞匯是指人們在講話和寫作時實際運用的詞匯。由于中學生的表達式詞匯量小,而且其用法把握的不好,因而嚴重地制約了寫作。所以,在教學過程中,教師應注重引導學生挖掘教材中的表達式詞匯,使其盡可能多地擴大和把握表達式詞匯。

4.注重提高學生的閱讀質量

現代語言學理論告訴我們:英語技能的提高離不開語言輸入和知識積累,而閱讀正是學生獲得語言輸入的主要途徑,離開了閱讀的寫作只能是無源之水。相信“讀書破萬卷,下筆如有神”這句話誰也不生疏。它展示了閱讀與寫作之間的一個由量變到質變的關系問題。“破”有兩層含義:一是要達到一定的量;二是對閱讀的材料要通透。目前的閱讀教學中,大部分的學生只是滿足于對所閱讀材料的理解而已,其閱讀的終極目標就是理解,很少有學生主動?有意識地從閱讀中汲取可用于寫作的營養。其結果是閱讀與寫作脫節,學生不能從閱讀中受益而提高寫作能力。因此,英語教師應注重引導和培養學生向著:閱讀—理解—欣賞—借鑒,這樣一個科學閱讀的過程發展。例如,閱讀時,教師要引導學生體會作者表達思想的方法以及遣詞造句的技巧。另外,要有意識的練習學生養成記筆記的習慣,把碰到的好的用詞?表達方式?句型等記下來,時常翻看,就可以把短期記憶轉化為長期記憶,寫作時就能自然用上。從而達到汲取閱讀中的精華來豐富自己的寫作能力的目的。

5.注重練習學生多練筆,多修改

由語言的輸入到語言的輸出需要實踐,而且是大量的寫作實踐。寫作實踐可以是多種多樣的,可以模擬?復述?寫摘要,也可以創造性的寫些段落?文章等。另外,必須強調修改的重要性。許多大家都認為好的文章是改出來的。由于許多學生不肯在修改上付出勞動,也有的學生錯誤地認為修改是老師的事。其實,不善于自己動手修改文章,寫作能力是難以提高的。自寫自改,自己動腦動手,久而久之,便能摸到寫作的門道,寫出像樣的英語作文。
