（三）“山東及時雨，孝義黑三郎”，“仗義疏財，忠肝義膽”，“梁山呼保義，鄆城宋公明”，這一切的聲音，都在共同呼喊著一個名字——宋江。一個父兄眼中“孝字為先”的孝子，一個朝廷眼中“水泊草寇”的頑劣之徒，一個由“忠”和“義”交織而成的歷史碑文。

施耐庵筆下的宋江是《水滸》中矛盾的中心，在報效朝廷和建設梁山中，在盡孝道和上梁山中，他始終處于矛盾之中。但最核心的是他在“忠君”與“仁義”間的選擇。

宋江是“仁義”的，“及時雨”的稱謂非他人能及，“救晁蓋”、“濟武松”、“殺閻婆”、“三打祝家莊”，這一幕幕至今仍然歷歷在目。“生死之交一碗酒”是他的人生信條，“急人之所急”是他的做事準則，這一切，都樹立了他在一百零八將中的地位，位列天罡，執掌地煞，何等的榮耀；大塊吃肉，大碗喝酒，何等的暢快；劫富濟貧，攻城略地，何等的威風。

但這恰恰是施耐庵為宋江吹響挽歌前的空響，宋江畢竟還是一個鄆城小吏，在他的骨子里，透著的是對大宋王朝忠貞報國的志向。“敢笑黃巢不丈夫”是宋江留在望江樓的詩，看似輕視朝廷，實為他因報國無門而空自嘆息。不論是晁蓋打曾頭市后的私見宿太尉，還是水淹高太尉后的盛情款待，亦或是晁蓋死后，替換“聚義廳”為“忠義堂”大匾，處處透著他對朝廷招安的渴望。然而他卻忘了，在腐朽的趙宋王朝里，哪有他一個鄆城小吏的生存空間。可悲呀，可嘆！可憐梁山一百單八將盛極一時，最后卻落得死散凋零。

縱然面對這些，宋江在忠與義之中放下了曾經緊握的刀槍，在忠與義中作出了最后的選擇，對于宋朝的毒酒，他一飲而盡，想以死“表明忠義”，更令人惋嘆的是，為防止李逵再反朝廷，也讓他服毒酒隨他而去。留下的只有“茫茫乾坤方圓幾何，成大任，重大義，男兒本色??”的悲歌。

宋江在施耐庵的筆下完成了他的使命，他在忠與義的交織中，迷失了自己，最終只能淹沒在宋王朝的浪花之中，在“忠君”與“仁義”之中，他選擇了忠君，選擇了一條看似美麗卻永無出頭之日的道路。他走了，或許他依然會笑對朝廷，依然毫無怨恨，留給我們的只有無盡的感慨。
