（一）Gua Sha is a movie about the differences between American and Chinese culture.Xu datong is a video games designer in St.Louis.When his father visits from China, he performs Gua Sha（a Chinese traditional treatment）on his grandson, which leaves bright red marks on the skin and causes a lawsuit of child abuse.In the court, Datong loses his mind so that finally he loses custody of his son.I think this scene is shocking and thought-provoking to most of the Chinese audiences.But the most impressing scene to me is the ending.Datong wants to see his son in Christmas eve, he has to climb a pipe to the ninth floor which his son lives.I think the pipe is not only a pipe, but also a gap, a deep gap between American and 5000-year Chinese culture.He wants to climb over the gap and he will never succeed, perhaps no Chinese people really could succeed.It’s about assimilation into American culture, and not assimilation in an ”International” city, like SF or NY or LA or Chicago, but St.Louis, MO（actually shot there）。Really great acting, interesting story.Gua Sha is a treatment in traditional oriental medicine in which a wooden board repeatedly slides across the patient’s acupuncture acupressure massage points.It works in similar principles like that of acupuncture acupressure massage.This method would inevitably leave bruise on the skin, and the story begins here, when the visiting grandpa who does not speak any English used this traditional practice to treat the grandson when both son and daughter-in-law were at work.Sadly, in US, this is a story that repeats itself many times in the area where many oriental immigrants lives and all of these are due to simple misunderstanding between cultures.Gua Sha: Step-by-Step, by Arya Nielsen.If an acupuncturist is trained in Classical Chinese medicine, they will do this technique in their practice for pain, and for acute or chronic illness.電影刮痧英文觀后感

（二）Chinese immigrants struggle to hold onto their American dream after the husband's father（Xu Zhu）comes for a visit from mainland China and gives a si-mp-le Chinese Medicine therapy called Gua Sha to his grandson.Da Tong（Tony Leung Ka Fai）is the father who is trying to integrate his Chinese cultural beliefs into his daily American reality, especially when dealing with his bo（Hollis Huston）and best friend, who is too quick to believe the worst about Da Tong's treatment of his son, Dennis.Da Tong's failures show his confusion about the differences between his original Chinese culture and his new American home.Even within his family there is conflict because Grandfather can't speak English and is excluded from many conversations because Mother（Wenli Jiang）wants only English spoken in her home for the benefit of her American born son.Da Tong and his wife are very well educated and understand that their child's best chances for succein America, and for him not to experience the same troubles they've had during the past 8 years, are to speak without an accent.They even go so far as to insist the boy use a fork and knife instead of chopsticks, even when it's obvious they are still eating Chinese style food, served in the normal way: communal dishes for the food and smaller, individual rice bowls for each person.Mother seems a bit inflexible in her insistence on being as American as possible, while Da Tong's cultural leanings are just as strongly Chinese, although not by conscious choice.Da Tong's love for his son is tested severely when Da Tong tries to balance it against respect for his boss.When Da Tong's son hits his boss' son, Da Tong insists on an apology that seems unnecessary and makes Da Tong look stubborn and uncaring.Da Tong gives his boy a light rap on the head when he refuses to apologize and the boy cries to his mother that the reason he hit his playmate was that the other boy called Da Tong stupid, one of many examples of doing the wrong thing to protect your family.The conflict arising from doing the wrong thing out of love or respect for one's family or closest friends continues throughout the movie, and every way Da Tong turns, he finds failure and encounters both obvious and subtle forms of anti-Chinese racism.Even Chinese folklore about the Monkey King, Sun Wu Kong, that Da Tong incorporates into a video game he designed is used to provoke his pride when he's vulnerable and fearing for the loof his son.Da Tong is misunderstood by everyone, family, friend, and foe, even though he has only the best intentions, and he carries the responsibility quite heavily, ma-ki-ng one wrong turn after another.Gua Sha（The Treatment）shows how a person's cultural beliefs are so deeply set within oneself that it is usually impossible to examine why you do most anything, from how you dreand talk to whom you love and respect and how you show it.The invisible nature of one's cultural beliefs also makes it difficult to impossible to explain yourself to others when questioned.Da Tong experiences an excruciatingly painful and difficult struggle while trying to protect his son, an ordeal that forces him to examine the validity of some of the most vital things he thought he knew about his identity, his Chinese culture, and the new American world he'd chosen as his home.The movie showed me how normal it is for people to look for ways that their culture is superior to others' and how the misunderstandings arising from different cultural perspectives can seem very large, but can be nullified with si-mp-le, 2-sided explanations when people are willing to listen.It appears this film is not readily available in the USA, but it's the best I've seen at highlighting the differences between American and Chinese culture.Parts of the movie's dialog are only in Chinese and I've yet to find a DVD with English subtitles, although it's easy to get the gist of what's going on during those short passages.The credits are a combination of Chinese and English, holding true to the integration of both worlds.I've noticed some important roles are not credited here on IMDb, such as Judge Horowitz, who was played by Alexander Barton.

I have never imagined that I would write a film review in English.Because when referring to feeling and culture, I can hardly express my whole idea in Chinese, let alone in English.Well, just have a try.The Gua Sha Treatment is designed to discuss the culture differences.We can know that from Datong, the name of the leading man.Datong is a classical Chinese term.It refers to a utopian vision of the world in which everyone and everything is at peace.While life always plays jokes on people, Datong’s peaceful life didn’t last long.He was accused of abusing his son because of the bruises from Gua Sha.Actually, Datong was not the person who gave the little boy Gua Sha treatment.It’s his father.But Datong decided to be a scapegoat.This was a culture difference.In Chinese traditional culture, law is not important than affection.Though we also praise those people who put righteousness above family loyalty, nobody wants that happen to themselves.Chinese think that being a scapegoat for family members especially for father or mother is a responsibility.The biggest culture difference the film showed us was that Chinese culture was based on experience while western based on specific evidences.Gua Sha has been used as a treatment for thousands years, and many people advocate it for their own experience.Just like many Ancient Chinese technique, we just know it is useful but we can’t explain it clearly.So to persuade westerner to believe it seems impossible.Then cultures conflict happens.But we can’t directly blame westerner in this case.Not only Gua Sha, but also laugh therapy and so on are not accepted by westerner as normal treatments.It’s a responsible attitude for life.Because we know little about these treatments, we cannot make sure what is going to happen.And how we should deal with it? 通過選修課程——中西文化比較，對中西文化的差異我有了更深層次的了解，為了讓我們對中西文化差異的了解，老師放映了一系列的表現(xiàn)中西文化差異的電影，我想通過對電影《刮痧》的一些感受來談?wù)勛约簩χ形魑幕町惖睦斫狻?/p>

刮痧是中國民間流傳幾千年的傳統(tǒng)療法。用銅錢等物蘸水或油刮患者的胸,背等處,使局部皮膚充血,減輕內(nèi)部炎癥。中暑,急性腸炎,食物中毒等病都可用刮痧療法。但刮痧后,皮膚很快會出現(xiàn)一條條痧痕,并且存留時間較長。

羅基斯說：文化是一個群體成員生活方式的總匯。文化產(chǎn)生于人類生活經(jīng)驗的積累，是群體對人生觀、世界觀、價值觀的反映。霍夫斯泰德把文化定義為“我們思想中集體的、能夠把一類人與另一類人區(qū)別開來的思考程序”。當(dāng)文化成為一個區(qū)別你我的符號，我們便會因為互相的交流而產(chǎn)生誤解乃至沖突。電影《刮痧》只是一個縮影，不管你是憤怒也好，無奈也罷，它卻讓你不得不去思考：一個人在成長的過程中所受到的潛移默化的文化熏陶是根深蒂固的，在美國夢中依然烙著中國魂的印記，不同文化之間難免會因為交流與傳播發(fā)生碰撞與沖突。

《刮痧》的情節(jié)跌宕起伏:北京青年許大同和妻子移民美國八年,終于實現(xiàn)了他們的美國夢:有了幸福的家庭,可愛的兒子,令人羨慕的社會地位和豐厚的收入。但隨后降臨的意外卻使許大同從夢中驚醒。孫子丹尼斯病了,從北京來的爺爺用中國民間的刮痧療法,被兒童醫(yī)院的醫(yī)生發(fā)現(xiàn),便以虐待兒童罪將“頂罪”的許大同告上法庭,使原本幸福的家庭轉(zhuǎn)眼間支離破碎:兒子被兒童福利局收養(yǎng),許大同被

禁止接近兒子,職業(yè)被辭,朋友被棄,夫妻被迫分居。努力多年的美國夢被這場官司徹底粉碎。影片中可見中西文化觀念差異是比較大的。不同文化有不同的觀念，往往帶來認(rèn)識上的偏差和誤區(qū)。

一、處事觀的差異。美國人喜歡面對事實,表明自己的觀點(diǎn),并掌握可靠的信息。西醫(yī)講究“頭痛醫(yī)頭,腳痛醫(yī)腳,”因此兒童醫(yī)院的醫(yī)生不相信在背上刮痧會治發(fā)燒,相反孩子背上的瘀痕是事實;家長把未滿12周歲的兒獨(dú)放在家里也是事實;許大同當(dāng)著朋友昆拉的面打孩子,這又是有口難辯的事實,所有的這些事實都被作為法庭上的證據(jù),使許大同敗訴,從而取消了他對孩子的監(jiān)護(hù)權(quán)。由此我們可以看出美國人處理問題以事為基礎(chǔ),就事論事。中國人在事實面前,人情似乎顯得更重要些。盡管兒童福利院對以上的舉證都是事實,但許大同認(rèn)為它們是片面的。中認(rèn)為氣能夠貫穿七經(jīng)八脈,因此可以“頭痛醫(yī)腳,腳痛醫(yī)頭”。刮痧非但不是虐待,而是體現(xiàn)了父親對兒子的“關(guān)愛”之情;老爺子在外遇到煩接到警察局的電話,許大同急忙趕去接父親,雖然明知把兒子單獨(dú)放在家里會觸犯法律的,但這種“孝親”情感,按照中國人的心理,也是情有可原的。而美國法律無視自己的“真情,”把美好的家庭拆散,許大同感到不解和委屈。

二、家庭觀的差異。在中國的文化傳統(tǒng)中,家庭占有極為重要的地位。先秦儒家認(rèn)為“, 孝”就是“善事父母”,就是要對父母盡養(yǎng)育之恩。同時,孔子還把“孝”的準(zhǔn)則訴諸于回報的情理,“滴水之恩,當(dāng)涌泉相報”。所以許大同在美國扎根后,把老父接到美國“享清福”,以報答父母的“養(yǎng)育之恩”;為給父親早點(diǎn)辦上綠卡,自愿頂替父親給兒子丹尼斯刮痧的“罪名”。《刮痧》中還有一個細(xì)節(jié),由于兩個孩子打架,許大同當(dāng)著昆拉的面打了孩子一巴掌,后來他對昆拉說:“我打我的孩子是為了表示對你的尊重,是給你面子。”這兒就牽扯著東西方對孩子的態(tài)度問題。中國人把孩子當(dāng)作一個私有財產(chǎn),是我生的,屬于我,我打他,是我的事,你管不著。雖然大同打孩子不是為了懲罰孩子的過錯,而是給朋友“面子”。但在昆拉看來,打人是犯法的,無論打的是誰。在西方人眼里,許大同的“孝順”屬于“責(zé)任倒錯”“, 不誠實”。美國人認(rèn)為父母、子女是平等的,父母很少為孩子決定什么事情,而是讓其依靠自己的力量去奮斗,許多美國人接受了這樣的生活信條:Every man for himself , and God for us all.Every man isthe architect of his own fortune.例如,里根身為總統(tǒng),而他的兒子卻在職業(yè)登記所里尋找職業(yè),同樣這在中國傳統(tǒng)觀念看來是難以想象的。

三、朋友觀的差異。朋友關(guān)系在東西方文化中包含著不同的意義。Edward Steward &Milton Bennet 這樣論述美國人的朋友關(guān)系:“雖然美國人保持許多友好的非正式關(guān)系,但是他們極少有那種很深而又維系多年的關(guān)系。理想的境界是美國式的友誼,建立在自然發(fā)生、相互吸引以及溫馨的個人感情的基礎(chǔ)上。人們選擇自己的朋友,同時,他們又把朋友關(guān)系與社會或工作義務(wù)分開。”在中國,情形有所不同。交朋友講究的是時間愈長愈好,承擔(dān)的義務(wù)愈多愈好。理想的境界是為朋友兩肋插刀,赴湯蹈火在所不辭。中國人對于朋友的期望值很高,若有困難,應(yīng)該傾囊相助。當(dāng)昆拉指證許大同打過孩子時,許大同指責(zé)昆拉“我一直把你當(dāng)朋友,但你卻在法庭上出賣我!”而昆拉感到很委屈和不解:“我只是實話實說而已。”誠信是美國人最基本的美德之一,你讓一個美國人撒謊也相當(dāng)于讓他放棄基本的價值觀。

影片最后昆拉到了一家中醫(yī)診所,親自嘗試了刮痧的滋味并體驗到了中國傳統(tǒng)文化的魅力。在此,昆拉就是進(jìn)行了一次成功的跨文化交際:以親身體驗為依據(jù),證明刮痧的確是中國的一種治病療法,并說服了兒童福利局的官員和法官撤回禁令。一場由文化障礙引發(fā)的沖突煙消云散,而這一平息是雙方互相理解、溝通交流的結(jié)果。跨文化交際的一方無權(quán)要求另一方向自己的價值觀靠攏,但卻有可能促使其向自己的價值觀靠攏,多種選擇法(multiple choice)就是中西方行之有效的跨越文化障礙的方法。

也許你會覺得《刮痧》從一開始就是一場誤會，仔細(xì)一想，這卻并非偶然，其實從一開始雙方的立場就不是平等的，每個人都以各自所固有的世界觀和價值觀來否定對方，從而導(dǎo)致矛盾的不斷累積。與人相處最大的悲哀莫過于你不理解我我不理解你，并且雙方仍各執(zhí)一詞，爭辯不休。即便最后當(dāng)昆蘭興奮地告訴簡寧大同無罪這個好消息時，我想他也未必就能理解當(dāng)簡寧得知丈夫無罪，大同爬上9層樓與家人相聚——這對患難夫妻內(nèi)心的復(fù)雜情愫。然而最后的最后，在一種理解、尊重與認(rèn)可中，大家都得到了平息。

《刮痧》展現(xiàn)的是一個視角，讓我們見證了一次文化的碰撞、沖突與融。從影片開始簡寧為培養(yǎng)丹尼斯說英語的能力而堅持在家說英語到片尾大同和簡寧教丹尼斯說：“北京”、“長城”，這恰是一種強(qiáng)烈的中華民族文化的歸屬感與認(rèn)同感的體現(xiàn)，沉浸在美國夢中的他們開始意識到自己的中國魂。

文化沖突會因為文化碰撞而永遠(yuǎn)不會消失，然而這并不意味著跨文化傳播的研究就沒有意義。在全球化的今天，全球文化正處于一個大交融，大匯集的狀態(tài)，我們只有在承認(rèn)相互平等的前提之下，通過相互溝通來更好地了解不同地域、不同民族的文化。只有做到了求同存異，才能使多元文化共存和發(fā)展有一個更和諧和寬松的環(huán)境。而跨文化傳播的研究正是通過研究不同民族文化之間的差異來發(fā)現(xiàn)矛盾與誤會，從而尋找出一種有效的方式來促進(jìn)文化的傳播與共存。在美國夢與中國魂之間找到一個平衡，人類終能受益于多元文化的融合。

第四篇：刮痧電影觀后感

有感于《刮痧》

《刮痧》這部電影講述的是一個北京移民家庭在美國生活時發(fā)生的故事：5歲的華裔孩子丹尼斯鬧肚子發(fā)燒，他的爺爺由于剛從北京到美國，不懂得藥品上的英文說明，便用中國民間流傳已久的刮痧療法給丹尼斯治病，沒想到這卻成為了丹尼斯父親許大同虐待孩子的證據(jù)，鬧到了法庭上去。在法庭上，一連串的矛盾沖突更是接踵而來，一個原來幸福美好的家庭就這樣轉(zhuǎn)眼間變得支離破碎。就這部影片中的主要線索——刮痧來說。刮痧作為中國的一種醫(yī)學(xué)文化，在中國流傳已經(jīng)有兩千多年的歷史。然而，在美國的文化里就沒有對刮痧進(jìn)行“科學(xué)”的解釋。因而，刮痧不為美國人所知也不奇怪，丹尼斯背部所留下的刮痧的痕跡被美國人認(rèn)為是一種虐待兒童的證據(jù)，這也是不足為奇的。但是，作為一個法治的國家，不能因為人們對刮痧的不了解或是不承認(rèn)而沒有對刮痧這一證據(jù)進(jìn)行認(rèn)識和核實，也不能因為中國文化的與美國文化的不同而進(jìn)行排斥不加以考慮。

因為法律講求的是正義，法院判案講求的是事實。然而，在這部影片中就出現(xiàn)了這樣的情況，在還沒有真正了解刮痧，還沒有真正了解文化差異或是文化盲區(qū)的情況下，法庭就作出了剝奪許大同對兒子扶養(yǎng)權(quán)的決定。這無疑就是對違法證據(jù)沒有進(jìn)行正確認(rèn)識與核實，從而造成法律與正義的背道而馳，最終造成許大同一家悲劇的產(chǎn)生。

從《刮痧》中，我們看美國的法制，會發(fā)現(xiàn)一個很奇怪的現(xiàn)象：在這個社會政治和法律系統(tǒng)里，每一個人都在努力維護(hù)這個系統(tǒng)的健康、透明而民主的運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)，因此會有揭竿而起報警的醫(yī)生和護(hù)士，有為孩子的健康和權(quán)利而舌戰(zhàn)不休的律師，有以說實話為自己責(zé)任的證人；但當(dāng)遇到了他們所不理解或不了解的事情的時候，當(dāng)另一個遙遠(yuǎn)國度的傳統(tǒng)文化和他們的常識產(chǎn)生沖突的時候，這種西方社會科學(xué)、嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)、民主的法律卻成為他們固守自己偏執(zhí)的一種武器，就如那個律師在法庭上故意惹怒許大同、用刻意曲解的手段誤導(dǎo)法官以達(dá)到自己贏得官司的目的。但西方的這種法制和人性化的民主卻始終是很高明的，如電影的最后那位胖胖的美國律師拋棄誤解、接受了刮痧治療后終于明白了大同的清白，而那位一心為孩子著想的女律師，也在了解了事情的真相之后全力向法官爭取撤銷起訴的機(jī)會。最終，西方的法制和東方的傳統(tǒng)在經(jīng)歷了苦難和艱苦的磨合后達(dá)到了一種“和解”和“融合”，孩子回到了父母的身邊，妻子和丈夫也不再需要痛苦的分離。在這場痛苦的鬧劇過后，大同和妻子似乎看清了一些東西，很欣慰地，我們在影片的最后聽見丹尼斯可愛稚嫩的聲音，在隨著父母的教授念著：“長城、中國、北京……”。美國的社會和政治再完美，屬于中國靈魂始終不能拋棄深入骨髓的歷史和傳統(tǒng)的東西。

從電影《刮痧》看中西文化之異同

電影《刮痧》講述了一對移民美國的中國夫婦因中美文化差異而導(dǎo)致差點(diǎn)喪失其子撫養(yǎng)權(quán)的故事。對于美國所謂的人權(quán)保護(hù)還有對兒童的保護(hù)早就有所耳聞。一直都知道在美國家長是不能隨便打孩子的，會被警方介入而且后果很嚴(yán)重。在中國人看來，當(dāng)兒子做錯事的時候，父親打兒子是教育孩子的一種方式。在中國來說是正常的，沒什么大不了的。父親打兒子也有愛兒子的意思，打在孩子身上，痛在父母心上啊。打者愛也。同時也是表示對別人的尊重。但是，在美國人看來，父母無論如何是不能打孩子的，打孩子是一種虐待兒童的行為，是違反法律的，要受到法律的制裁的。美國的人權(quán)主義太強(qiáng)了，在中國人看來是家庭事，坡見人無法插手的，可到了美國就不一樣了，變成了國家的事了。（在我看來其實是小題大做，這可能就是中西文化的差異吧！）在美國，大人晚上把孩子單獨(dú)留在家里也是犯罪。

在中國，孩子生病了，大人用偏方給孩子治病是司空見慣的了。比如電影中的老爺爺幫他孫子刮痧，這是幫孩子治病，天經(jīng)地義的，是愛孩子的表現(xiàn)。刮痧在中國已經(jīng)流傳了兩千多年了，基本上是家喻戶曉的偏方，效果很好。但是于美國，他們只是看到外表，而不知道其中的奧妙，以為是孩子收到虐待，就要把好好的一個家庭給破壞掉，太殘酷了。簡直是不可理喻，沒有經(jīng)過調(diào)查就斷然下結(jié)論。

電影中的主人翁許大同雖然在美國住了八年，事業(yè)在美國取得了很好的成就，被美國人所認(rèn)可，但是他骨子里面的中國傳統(tǒng)文化仍然與美國的文化格格不入。刮痧在中國已經(jīng)好幾千年了，可是一到美國就說不清了。其實說不清的又何止是刮痧呢？他們竟然說孫悟空是一個沒有道德，沒有責(zé)任感的人，僅僅只因為孫悟空偷了蟠桃？！

而他們對于中國的了解還停留在中國解放前的情景，中國是貧窮落后的，中國人還穿著長袍馬掛等。現(xiàn)在其實中國人的事情在美國經(jīng)常發(fā)生。當(dāng)大同送完他爸被警察逮捕的時候，掉在地下的猴子受到踐踏，難道僅僅只是這只玩具嗎？恐怕還有中國幾千年的文化吧！

電影最后結(jié)局圓滿，可是我卻很傷感，對于自己所不了解的文化肆意的批駁，連了解一下都不屑，真的是那個自由的國度，是那個民族文化融合的地方嗎？

劇中，許大同在講五臟六腑，七經(jīng)八脈這些刮痧的基本原理是我的心情很低落，因為他用英文講不出來這些知識。我希望中國傳統(tǒng)的醫(yī)學(xué)能夠更加科學(xué)化，世界化，從而走出中國，走向世界。讓那些自以為是的人了解中醫(yī)，愛上中醫(yī)。

我覺得《刮痧》這部電影很成功，它不僅成功的表現(xiàn)了兩對父子，祖孫三代之間的愛，更加深刻的挖掘出了中西文化之間的差異，引人深思。
