應試教育體制下的英語教學一直停留在書本知識的講解上,重視單詞的拼寫,語法的正確,句子結(jié)構(gòu)的完整等,不重視英語的實際應用,這首先就違背了英語作為一項交流工具的宗旨。隨著新課標和素質(zhì)教育的不斷推進,聽力改革也在悄悄進行,它改變了傳統(tǒng)的聽單詞選句子等比較機械的題型,變?yōu)閷υ捇蚨涛睦斫?,?cè)重語境的考查。基于新課標的這一要求,聽力訓練與測試越來越受到重視。筆者在教學當中指導學生在進行聽力訓練時,采取了以下措施,僅供參考。

一、大聲朗讀

聽力能力的提高是一個長期艱苦的過程,它在很大程度上依賴于良好的閱讀習慣。所以,要想提高聽力,首先要勇敢地不怕羞地大聲朗讀。通過朗讀,一方面校正讀音,獲取大量詞匯、語段方面的信息;另一方面增強聽的敏感性,從而培養(yǎng)良好的語感,促進聽說能力的協(xié)調(diào)發(fā)展。

二、眼疾耳聰手快

聽力考試一般在試卷發(fā)下后五分鐘之后進行。學生應該充分利用這段時間快速瀏覽試題,比較容易混淆的單詞和短語,分析所提問題,猜測短文內(nèi)容,以減少盲目性的聽,更不能因為太隨意而錯過得分機會。在聽力考試中,應隨時準備聽錄音,經(jīng)過分析、過濾,快速地將思維結(jié)果寫下,爭取更多的時間準備下一題。

三、抓主題句和信息詞

短文內(nèi)容較多,聽清楚或是聽懂全部內(nèi)容比較難,同時完全準確記住全部信息也不容易做到。因此,在聽錄音過程中,要抓住文章的主題句,聽清文章開頭和結(jié)尾的一、兩句話,因為開頭句與結(jié)尾句常常是主題句。如果主題句位于句首,那么,接下來文章就會用演繹法,將觀點展開、論述。反之,如果主題句在結(jié)尾,文章一定會先陳述論點、論據(jù),最后得出結(jié)論――文章的主題。第二遍針對所提問題,有重點的聽,核實上次所聽的準確性,以及做一些較難的綜合題。把聽記的內(nèi)容與試卷上所閱讀的內(nèi)容結(jié)合起來,排除干擾項,進行選擇,找出最佳答案。

一些連接短文各個句子、表明上下邏輯關系的詞,對理解短文非常重要。抓住這些詞,對于下文會講什么內(nèi)容、能解答什么問題就會心中有數(shù),對短文邏輯關系就會更清楚。這些詞大致可分為四類:

1.起順接作用的詞,即起并列、遞進、例示作用的詞。如:and,also,in,addition,for example等。

2.起逆接作用的詞,即表明下面的內(nèi)容和上面內(nèi)容發(fā)生了轉(zhuǎn)折的詞。如:but,however,in spite of,on the contrary等。

3.表示因果關系的詞,如:because,since,as a result等。

4.表示短文層次和先后關系的詞。如:first,second,last,before,after,then,accordingly等。

四、適當?shù)挠涗?/p>

學生在預覽選項之后,大體已預測到題目的要求。在聽錄音過程中,第一遍集中精力聽短文,捕捉問題信息,可適當做速記和筆記,把有關事實、數(shù)據(jù)記下來。在聽錄音過程中,應帶著預測的問題去聽,減少盲目性,有的放矢。第一遍錄音就要爭取聽懂內(nèi)容,聽清問題;結(jié)合卷面內(nèi)容,連貫地將短文內(nèi)容聽完,千萬不能停下來去想未聽清的詞,不必對每個單詞或每個句子過分注重,而影響整體的注意力和理解力。力求基本理解短文,還應根據(jù)卷面問句提示去聽記(聽寫速記)短文的關鍵詞和核心內(nèi)容。

五、學會推斷及對文章的整體理解

記錄和抓住信息詞是聽力考試中不可缺少的。但是,有些題目的作答,不僅需要事實,而且要根據(jù)這些明示信息和錄音在字里行間進行綜合推斷。這類題目比明示信息題目難得多。要根據(jù)上下文推測詞義,猜測作者意圖,對短文做深層理解。大部分的詞都是根據(jù)上下文來體會理解的,也就是說理解詞匯是不能脫離實際語境的,而作者的意圖往往是通過詞匯的運用表現(xiàn)出來。另外,語氣也比較重要,它們都可以顯示出作者對事件的看法,甚至把一些深層次的意思通過詞匯的運用表達出來。在聽力訓練中要多注意說話人所處的環(huán)境、時間、說話內(nèi)容以及文化背景、生活習慣、價值觀念等,只有這樣才能對文章中的詞匯有更深的理解,才能對沒有學過的詞加以推測。

注意對文章的整體理解是考查學生對整篇文章大意的理解,也可以說是對文章進行一個全面性的評價或做出結(jié)論。我們在做完題目后,可做一些檢查。在檢查過程中,應注意文章是否前后一致、語氣連貫,并且內(nèi)容充分,盡量避免于擾項的影響。

六、重視積累

積累既指擴大詞匯量,為聽力掃除障礙,也指熟悉英美國家的文化背景、生活習慣,掌握各種交際語言及有關常識,避免在做情景反應和句子理解時犯一些低級錯誤。

七、該放則放,該抓則抓

做聽力練習時有一種不良傾向,即聽完一段對話,不聽后面提的問題,而將自己想象的問題加以回答并將答案即刻填在試卷上,等到發(fā)現(xiàn)錯了再改時已沒時間了,于是便出現(xiàn)了焦慮心理狀態(tài),越聽越聽不到信息。因此要在聽到相關問題后再作答,消除隱患。一旦出現(xiàn)上述情況,要做好記號當即放棄,待做完余下的題目后再來更正。

現(xiàn)代英語學習由聽、說、讀、寫、譯五個方面組成,而要做到會說、會讀、會寫、會譯,其前提是必須要會聽。學會聽、學好聽是掌握英語這一語言的前提與基礎。當前,學生在學會聽方面仍存在很多不足,這已影響到學生對現(xiàn)代英語的掌握。由此,本文主要探討一下初中生存在的聽力障礙以及解決的對策。

一、初中生在英語聽力方面的障礙

1.語音障礙。發(fā)音不準,辨音能力差,造成聽力障礙。語音障礙包括語音、語調(diào)、朗讀習慣等幾個方面。正確的語音、語調(diào)是聽好、聽準的前提,尤其是一些發(fā)音接近、易混淆的音素。

2.詞匯障礙。單詞拼寫不準,詞匯量不足,造成聽力障礙。學生英語詞匯量的多少、掌握的熟練程度、一詞多義和同音異義的現(xiàn)象,都對學生的聽力理解造成一定影響。

4.心理障礙。聽力理解的過程也是一個較復雜的心理活動過程。心理學家告訴我們,當人的情緒處于緊張焦慮的狀態(tài)時,就會產(chǎn)生恐懼心理,從而使原來可以聽懂的內(nèi)容也大打折扣。心理緊張主要出現(xiàn)在測試或大型考試中,由于求勝心切,又怕不適應考試的內(nèi)容和語速,心里總感到被動、無把握,從而產(chǎn)生過度緊張的心理。結(jié)果是越想聽懂越聽不懂,越聽不懂心理越緊張,腦子出現(xiàn)暫時的空白,造成“一步跟不上,步步跟不上”的被動局面。這種情況下不要說幾分鐘,哪怕幾秒鐘,對信息的攝入也會出現(xiàn)斷層,導致無法正確理解所聽材料。

二、提高初中生英語聽力能力的訓練策略

1.注重語言知識的傳授

首先,要認真教好音標,嚴格把好音標關。學好音標是學好英語的前提。音標基礎的好壞決定了語音、語調(diào)的好壞,若使初中生人人打好語音基礎,對提高學生的聽力水平無疑會起到事半功倍的效果。

其次,擴大學生的詞匯量,掌握短語和固定用法以及語法知識。聽力是聽和理解能力的總和,沒有一定的詞匯量和語法結(jié)構(gòu)的敏感性是很難聽得懂的。因此在平時英語教學中,讓學生多做聽寫練習,由詞到句,由句到篇,由易到難,循序漸進,逐步提高,積累豐富的詞匯量;讓學生廣泛閱讀各種題材的文章,背誦一些慣用語固定短語,擴大詞匯量,為提高聽力打下扎實的基本功。

語法是一個句子的命脈,語法結(jié)構(gòu)是句子的框架,熟悉掌握語法知識有助于學生正確理解所聽內(nèi)容。因此要幫助學生過好詞匯、語法關。語法只能在平時學習過程中熟記,分類總結(jié)。比如:make, let, help等動詞后面是加do的。finish, enjoy, practice等動詞后面是加doing的。forget, want, need等詞后面是加to do的。熟記了這些規(guī)則,在做聽短文填詞時,自己可以自查了,這樣準確率肯定會高一點。

2.注意學生良好心理素質(zhì)的培養(yǎng)

在聽音過程中心態(tài)的調(diào)整很重要,心理緊張容易導致對所聽信息的攝入出現(xiàn)斷層,從而導致無法正確理解所聽材料。所以培養(yǎng)學生良

好的心理素質(zhì),增強學生的自信心,保持平靜放松的心態(tài)答題,才能準確把握信息,提高聽力效果。遇到聽不懂的單詞或句子,要舍得放棄。聽時,注意力要集中到內(nèi)容上而不是語言上,在大意上而不在細節(jié)上。在平時的聽力教學過程中,教師給學生創(chuàng)造一個輕松、和諧的氣氛,努力消除學生因害怕、焦慮而產(chǎn)生的心理障礙,并不失時機地向?qū)W生介紹與聽力材料有關的背景知識,如英美國家的歷史、地理、文化、習俗等,這不僅可激發(fā)學生聽的興趣,還可幫助學生正確理解聽力內(nèi)容。

3.培養(yǎng)學生正確的聽力習慣

【內(nèi)容摘要】聽力是外語學習的基礎。但現(xiàn)狀表明:學生在英語學習上,聽力能力大大低于該學科的其他能力。他們的語音辨別能力低;語流的連貫能力弱;詞義的語境判斷差;猜字的技能技巧低;口音辨析能力差;主要內(nèi)容抓不?。恢匾畔⒆ゲ焕?;正確的習慣沒養(yǎng)成;背景知識狹窄等等。要克服這些障礙,要求教師采用正確的策略和方法。因此,本人認為教師應從課堂教學中的有意學習、課余時間的無意學習、閱讀對聽力的促進作用和加強考試時聽力技巧指導四方面對初中生進行英語聽力訓練。

聽,是語言的基礎;聽力,是語言學習的前提。中學英語教學大綱中把聽說教學放在教學法的首位,強調(diào)聽說英語是英語教學的重要目的之一,也是有效的手段之一。初中生的英語聽力訓練,是初中英語教學的一個重要環(huán)節(jié)。在教學中要注意根據(jù)初中生的生理心理特點和認知水平,設計多種方法,通過多種途徑對學生進行聽力培養(yǎng)。因此,我在教學實踐過程中采用了以下具體做法,現(xiàn)在重點就以下幾個方面進行介紹:

一、注意在課堂教學中的有意學習。

1、教師應用英語組織課堂教學。

訓練學生的聽力要與平時的教學緊密結(jié)合,充分利用每節(jié)課的時間讓學生多得到聽的機會,以彌補由于缺乏英語環(huán)境而造成的接觸機會不足。除了使用英語課堂用語外,如問候,指示,解釋練習的步驟,糾正錯誤,表揚等,還要用英語簡單地解釋詞匯含義和用法、句型結(jié)構(gòu)和語法現(xiàn)象等,初中教材中有不少簡單易用的詞法、句法和語法用語。此外,教師還可以利用教材中的詞匯、句子、句型和習慣表達法等進行英語組織教學,使學生易懂,注意力集中,以產(chǎn)生學習興趣,在潛移默化中提高他們的聽力水平。

2、教師應用英語引導學生進行知識學習。

將所學課文進行支離破碎的語言講解和句子分析,不利于學生理解和運用語言知識。教師應把課文作為一個整體來教,用聽說貫穿整個課文教學過程、既可以提高學生的英語聽說能力,又能營造課堂的英語氣氛,激發(fā)學生的學習興趣。學生在教師引導下學習生詞、理解課文,做口頭回答問題練習、聽課文錄音、復述段落或課文等。這樣便能使以聽為基礎的聽、說、讀貫穿于整個課堂。

3、教師應開展積極的課堂聽寫訓練。

聽寫是訓練聽力能力的一種好手段,它對促進學生語言能力的全面發(fā)展很有幫助,因

為學生既要能聽懂又要能用文字記錄下來,是需要具備聽力、拼寫和句型結(jié)構(gòu)等技能和知識的。聽寫的方式可以是填詞,寫課文的句子、段落或課文改寫、縮寫等。書面表達的參考答案也可以作為聽寫的形式,在講評書面表達后,讓學生聽寫參考答案,既練聽又練寫,這等于讓全體學生按范文重新寫了一遍、更加深了講評和糾錯的印象。但聽力訓練必須循序漸進,不會也不可能一蹴而就。

二、注意課余時間的無意學習;

聽是人們在交際中獲取信息的主要手段;聽是形成英語語言能力的重要組成部分。從事語言教育的工作者都知道,語言教學應由聽著手,而聽,需要有一個語言環(huán)境。英語教學是語言教學的一種,自然也要有一個英語會話的語言環(huán)境。如果只在課內(nèi)45分鐘的語言環(huán)境內(nèi)學習,是不夠的,會有不少學生聽不清、聽不懂,因此,需要學生利用平時瑣碎的時間,自覺增設語言環(huán)境。例如,利用早上和中午的20分鐘來聽,這樣有個好處,就是能一邊干其它的事,一邊聽。如果學生能充分利用每天早晨的時間,無意識地聽,無意識的接受語言信息,便能在平時生活中創(chuàng)造額外的英語語言環(huán)境,使學生在無意識中接觸英文環(huán)境、接受英語知識。但在課余時間的聽力訓練當中,教師應注意聽力材料的多樣性,這樣有助于讓學生在無意識的情況下,習慣正常的語速、語調(diào)。因此,學生聽力不僅可以聽教材內(nèi)容,還可聽課外其他材料。不僅可聽對話、短文,還可以聽故事、歌曲、電影、新聞等。不僅可以聽錄音帶,還可聽廣播、電視、影碟等。這種在無意識狀態(tài)下接受語言知識的學習方法能營造良好的語言環(huán)境,使學生節(jié)約大量的時間,且取得不錯的學習效果。

三、注意閱讀對聽力的促進作用。

盡管閱讀和聽力兩種訓練形式不同,但它們同屬于接受性和理解性的語言實踐過程,二者有很大共性。教師可以讓學生閱讀和聽力材料相關的內(nèi)容,也可以將閱讀作為聽力練習的輔助方法,大量地閱讀小說、雜志、網(wǎng)絡文章、新聞報道等學生感興趣的內(nèi)容。閱讀是積累詞匯的最有效的方法之一。通過閱讀可以進一步提高聽力能力,因為,閱讀是一種主要的語言輸入來源,它不但增加了學生接觸語言的機會,還豐富了他們對英語國家的文化知識和社會背景的了解,而且在大量的閱讀中拓寬詞匯量,這些都對聽力理解無疑是十分重要的。閱讀量越大,英語整體水平就越高,聽力水平也會隨著“水漲”而“船高”。所以善于積累各種知識,對語言學習也是相當有益的。

四、加強考試時聽力技巧指導。

1、做好準備,鍛煉預測能力。這點實際上要求我們在聽力考試前的2分鐘內(nèi),首先安定好自身情緒,集中精力,輕松愉快地做好訓練前的一切準備,尤其是心理準備,接著在聽力材料播放前,以常態(tài)的心情去讀聽力材料的選項,尤其是第一、第二題的內(nèi)容,以使自己頭腦中有個清晰的信息篩選概念,這時,可以讓學生對即將要聽到的內(nèi)容進行預測,因此,它是聽力理解過程中的重要一環(huán)。它在理解口頭語言中起著舉足輕重的作用。這種帶著問題聽錄音,有利于學生快速地對所聽信息與頭腦中已獲取的其他的干擾信息進行對比,從而能有效快捷地做出準確的信息判斷。

2、保持良好的心態(tài),該放手時就放手。在聽力訓練時,凡遇到前面有聽不懂的地方,不必驚慌,心里不必對此過多牽掛,一定要保證自己集中聽好后面的內(nèi)容,力保后面的對話或獨白中的內(nèi)容及有效信息能聽得懂,可以進行正確的信息篩選。不然的話,學生在聽后面的對話內(nèi)容時,自己心里還在想著前面沒聽懂的內(nèi)容,那么此時學生內(nèi)心方寸必然大亂,無法集中精力去捕捉后面應該獲得的信息,以致丟了芝麻又丟西瓜,得不償失。

3、把握信息,適當做筆記。較長的對話或獨白所涉及的內(nèi)容較多,尤其一些關鍵詞語往往較易混淆,即使聽得清楚聽得準,但是由于材料信息量較大,該記的東西較多,過后便沒能準確地回憶起來,如表示時間、日期、年齡、價格、距離的數(shù)字,或是地名、人名等。這時可以用筆在試卷的空白處以阿拉伯字或符號的形式記下,做到筆不離紙,以便加深印象,這樣做有助于判斷、選擇正確答案。

4、學會用英語思維。聽力考試中,有些同學缺乏正確的習慣,他們往往先將聽懂的東西譯成漢語,用漢語進行思維理解,缺乏用英語直接思維的習慣。這時要求我們用英語思維充分利用已聽懂部分的內(nèi)容和信息,積極發(fā)揮合理的想象力、推理能力去估計和預測自己沒聽懂的內(nèi)容或遺漏的信息是什么。

聽力教學既是一種語言學習,又是一種技能培養(yǎng)。在“聽、說、讀、寫”四種技能中,“聽”是語言的輸入過程,是人們交際活動的基本形式,是獲取語言信息的主要途徑,是提高其它技能的基礎。亞里山大說過,“掌握一種語言,首先是聽懂,聽懂的比重占有90%,能聽懂才覺得舒服,聽不懂就覺得不自在。” 心理學測試也表明,人們通過視聽覺所獲取的知識占全部知識的80%以上。聽的能力在英語四項能力(聽、說、讀、寫)中也是排在首位,只有聽準、聽清楚、聽明白即聽懂了,才能模仿得準、模仿得清楚,才能說得準確、清楚明白、說得好。因此,在整個初中英語教學階段,教師要盡可能地為學生創(chuàng)造良好的語言環(huán)境,要盡量幫助學生多聽多練,讓學生在充足的“聽”的語言量中學習英語。
