英語聽力訓練的點滴體會

蔡成國

聽力是中學英語教學中四項基本技能之一。由于語言環境,教學條件,師資力量等原因聽力成了中學生英語學習中的一個難點。突破這個難關不僅有助于學生語言綜合能力的提高,同時也為培養學生的英語交際能力奠定一個良好的基礎。

聽力的認知規律告訴我們聽能是由聽音辨音能力、預測能力、獲取特定信息能力、抓主旨大意能力、推測能力、猜意能力、識記能力等一系列技能技巧構成的,要使這一復雜過程得以在瞬間完成,并持續不斷地進行下去,教學中我們必須在充分認識這些規律的基礎上,研究聽的技巧與訓練方法,探索提高聽力水平的途徑。教學中,我從以下幾個方面對學生進行聽力訓練。

一. 預期聽能訓練:預期能力要求學生在聽前推測,在聽時捕捉話語中出現的關鍵信息。學生拿到試卷后要快速瀏覽材料,依據詞法、句法、等語法結構,語調、重音等語音知識以及語意標志語、上下文等篇章結構技巧,從卷面上快速捕捉關鍵信息,理解話語的主旨,并且在整體把握的基礎上進一步捕捉細節,做到聽錄音時胸中有數。有的放矢,不打無準備之仗。

二.手腦并用,邊聽邊記。在聽錄音時,常有同學出現“聽懂了,但內容記不住 ” 的情況。這種現象主要是因為學生欠缺短時記憶的能力。要提高短時記憶的能力。學生在平時的聽力訓練中要注意做到如下幾點:

1.養成邊聽邊記習慣。記錄時要有重點,有技巧,如數詞用阿拉伯數字記錄,地點、人名用代號,長詞用縮寫,長句抓主要成分。2.在語篇層次上把握聽力材料的主要意義,不要糾纏在局部聽不懂的地方。

3.聽錄音概述故事大意。

4.通過首句首段把握文章的體裁,記敘文重點聽who,what,when,where。描述文注意空間順序。

5.以意群為單位聽寫句子。

6.學會做簡短實效的筆記。學生在平時的學習中要掌握一些常用的拼寫縮略詞。如: O—oxygen;prof, e.g;i.e.;etc.;cf;1st.2nd;PRC;info;esp;prob;usu;月份,星期 等

三. 學會判斷和推理: 判斷和推理是領會說話著的觀點和態度的基本手段。判斷的依據是通過聽語言材料所獲得的細節。推理主要是依據獲取的數據及其相互關系進行簡易的計算,根據說話者所使用的功能意念表達法和說話者的語調和語氣體會其觀點和態度,綜合各方面 信息歸納總結作者意圖或短文主旨。1.What can we learn from the conversation? 四. 全面訓練,綜合提高

語言的聽說讀寫幾項基本技能是相互制約又相輔相成,任何單項技能的提高都需要得到其他技能的支持。教師上課時要堅持用英語授課。最大限度的給學生提供英語學習的機會。課堂教學中既要注意聽和讀“輸入技能”的訓練,又要加強說和寫“輸出技能” 的訓練。

五.重視聽力訓練中的情感因素。

良好的心理和精神狀態是提高聽能的保證。由于許多學生平時缺乏足夠的聽力訓練,雖然有的同學有較強的讀寫能力,但聽力水平相當一般。加之受方言影響,英語發言不太標準,這一切都使得同學們的聽力十分薄弱,一遇到考試就心慌,心理負擔比較重。由于心情太緊張,考生往往一開始就有幾個單詞或句子聽不清楚,這時如果拼命地回頭去想,下面的內容很有可能也聽不清,從而影響了聽的效果。而且一般情況下,英語考試都是先考聽力,聽力部分發揮是否正常直接關系到后面其他部分英語考試。因此,克服心理障礙,增強自信心是取得好成績的關鍵之一。聽力理解過程實際上不是被動地接受,而是在積極參與的過程中用自己已有的知識包括語法、詞匯、常識等)對所吸到的內容解碼,然后進行篩選、過濾、整理、分類,這是個重新組合的過程。人們在吸收信息的過程中,都會自覺地將自己所掌握的知識(包括背景知識)同其所聽到的聯系在一起,這種督導知識和輔入信息的結合就是預測、挑選、吸收和綜合的過程。只有平靜的心態和良好的心理素質才能確保這個過程的順利進行。

六.學會判斷題型。

如信息確認正誤判斷題,簡易數據換算題,意念功能題,推理判斷題。每年高考最后一篇短文雖然篇幅較長,但這里多為信息確認題,只要根據題目的要求抓住主要信息作好這部分并不難。

聽力訓練貴在持之以恒,只要堅持訓練,講究方法,通過高中三年的學習,聽力的水平一定會有質的飛躍。

聽是人們言語交際能力的重要方面,也是英語學習的重要途徑之

一。通過聽覺領悟語言是一個復雜的過程,它包括接受信息、識別、判斷和理解聲音信號等幾個層次的心理活動。人們接受信息后,通過大腦來識別和 理解每個聲音信號的意義,然后作出適當的反饋。反饋的快慢、判斷的正確與否,同一個人的識別和理解能力及個人的知識、經驗都有著密切的聯系。傳統的應試教學模式,重讀、寫能力訓練,輕聽、說能力的培養,留下了英語叫中的“聾啞”后遺癥。如何提高學生聽力水平,給我們從事基礎英語教育的同仁們留下了深思。

一、“聽”在教學中的地位

在當今社會中,隨著各種媒體的廣泛使用,聽的素質變的日益重要了,但目前中學英語教學中重視閱讀,說和聽是非常薄弱的環節,學生聽力培養和提高往往被忽視。在初中畢業生中,英語筆試能力卓而不凡的不乏其人,但每當聽別人說英語卻是一頭霧水,糊里糊涂。為改變這種狀況我們必須加大聽力訓練,因而注重并加強聽力教學方法的探索與研究,是提高中學英語聽力水平的關鍵所在。

二、聽力訓練的一般方法

1.用英語組織教學,使英語聽力經?;?。

課堂是實施英語聽力訓練的主陣地,要為學生創造一個良好的語言環境,就必須用英語組織教學。例如:在一篇課文的Dialogue教學中,向學生出示一副畫著漂亮自行車的圖片,然后對學生說:look at this picture , what can you see ?(I can see a bike).通過這樣的情景教學,即使學生不看書,也能容易聽懂對話內容,從而增加了學生在課內接受聽力訓練的機會。

用英語組織課堂教學是對學生進行聽力訓練最基本、最簡便、最實效的形式,在用英語組織課堂教學的過程中,應注意:

①讀準語音。正確的語音是聽音辨音的基礎,只有把英語音學準讀準,才能進行聽音辨音。因此,我要求學生每天早晨堅持半小時的聽錄音跟讀練習,跟讀過程中,只求讀準語音。隨堂設計5分鐘的辨音練習,形式可多樣化。比如:一生朗讀,其余聽辨有無錯音。②多聽。多聽是強化學生聽力的重要手段。教師在課堂上多用英語進行教學,給學生創造聽的機會和環境。充分利用錄音機和錄音磁

帶,讓學生經常聽英美人的地道的英語,掌握比較標準的英語語音。

2、增加英語聽力訓練方式,主要包括聽音辯音、聽寫、聽說對話、聽力理解等。

⑴ 辯音訓練要隨時隨地進行。

a.讓學生找出所聽到的元音讀音相同的單詞。

b.讓學生聽幾組句子并找出每組句子中不同的部分。

如:They like reading ,they like cooking.c.教師在黑板上寫出若干句子,然后讓學生聽幾組句子,最后讓學生選出與教師所讀句子意義相同或相近的句子來。

⑵ 聽說對話訓練要抓平時。

聽是理解信息,說是表達和傳遞信息,聽是說的基礎,說是聽的提高。因此,中學英語訓練的第一步是如何讓學生開口說英語,要重在他們用英語自由表達的習慣,要抓平時,抓養成。

⑶ 聽寫訓練要抓反復

聽寫是最樸實、最簡便的聽力訓練方式,也是提高聽力水平必不可少的一環。它是一種限時性強,輸入量大,需要高度集中一個人的注意力并充分調動一個人所有語言知識的腦力勞動過程。聽寫作為一種固定的日常練習,使學生養成良好的聽寫習慣,當然聽寫有一種循序漸進的過程,可以從單調詞組開始,逐步過渡到段落及至全文。

⑷ 理解訓練要抓突出。

聽力理解包括對句子和文章的基本事實的認定及文章相關內容間邏輯關系的推斷,是聽力的高級表現形式,必須要常抓不懈。尤其在聽力過程中,抓重點、抓突出,爭取做到學生對聽力有足夠的重視。

3.遵守聽力規律,使聽力訓練科學化。

英語聽力是一個“細活”,需要付出一定時間才能提高。但是教師在教學過程中,需要掌握規律,對癥下藥。

⑴ 明確目的。

在做聽力練習之前,特別是聽力材料是短文時,必須讓學生明白他們要做什么,讓學生了解語言材料的背景,然后瀏覽題干部分及答案,讓他們感到心中有數。

⑵ 掌握技巧。

在訓練聽力時對學生進行聽法指導是十分必要的。首先要消除畏懼心理、增強自信,然后要告誡學生不因為一兩個單詞沒聽懂而患得

患失,要抓住關鍵詞,抓主要線索,抓整體。還要讓學生在進行聽力測試時盡量記錄下材料的基本事實。

⑶ 精心選擇聽力材料。

聽力材料的適當是直接影響學生的“聽”的積極性和聽力效果的。教師應選擇由易到難,由淺到深的系列材料,可以先從辯音入手,然后逐步過渡到短句、長句、段落及篇章結構,再應結合新教材的特點,選擇語言規范,交際性強又十分按英美文化和習俗的語言材料。

⑷ 引導學生用英語思維,使聽力訓練個性化。

學生在聽英語的過程中,習慣于將聽到的一切都翻譯成漢語,人為的增強了聽力理解過程中的英譯漢,然后再到漢譯英的環節,從而跟不上速度,提不高效率,指導學生用英語思維,減少心譯過程,使學生把聽到的或自己表達的英語與客觀事物建立直接關系,是培養學生良好的聽力習慣,提高學生聽力效果的主要一環,同時要教育學生不要把一切都翻譯成母語。

三、英語聽力遇到的困難

1.語言上的困難

所聽的材料中出現新詞,新句型和新語法現象,或者由于連續、弱讀、失去爆破、重音移動等而使詞句發生變化,這些都會引起聽的困難,克服這種困難最初可通過分析性聽力練習來解決。

2.內容上的困難

學生聽英語時,由于不熟悉英美人的生活習慣、文化特色、興趣愛好等,常會感到所聽材料顯無具體的新詞名著,但卻不能聽懂內容。所以聽力練習配合一定的情景,并在教學中注意介紹文化背景。

3.心理上的困難

學生聽英語的潛在困難屬于心理障礙,總感到被動、無把握,因此過分緊張。聽的時候的注意集中到內容上而不是語言上,大意上而不是細節上,正在聽的而不是已聽過的。

四、聽力能力的培養還應注重課外的訓練。

聽力課上,如果有明確的目標,完備的設施、良好的學習氛圍和適度緊張的情緒,就很容易出成績,水平提高也快。但聽力是許多同學的薄弱環節,單靠每周的幾節課是遠遠不夠的,自己課下還需要“加碼”。可以把課堂上的材料進一步“精聽”,也可以“泛聽”其他材料;另外一個不可忽視的方面就是隨意聽,即在休閑娛樂甚至是休息時,聽一些優美的英語經典歌曲、英語節目、電影錄音剪輯等,這樣耳熟

能詳,不知不覺朗朗上口,語感增強了,聽說能力也提高了。有時可能感覺收益不大,但這只是暫時的,其長期效益是顯著的。

總之,作為教師,我們應盡自己的可能在課內外為學生提供良好的學習條件和環境,以此來激發他們的學習積極性,提高英語聽說能力,進而全面提高學生的交際。

1.提高口語能力

讀是聽的基礎。要想聽懂別人說話,自己能準確地讀出單詞是基礎。只有會正確讀出口來才會聽懂標準的讀音。因此平時在記單詞時不能只記它的拼寫而忽略發音。此外還要大聲朗讀單詞,讓自己能聽清楚自己的發音。讓每一個詞的發音在大腦里留有一個印象,再一次聽到這個詞是,就會與大腦里的那個印象相契合并且迅速做出反應。在朗讀句子時要注意音調、連讀、重讀、弱讀等。另外,提高語速也很關鍵。只有自己說話流利,才能對別人的對話作出快速的反應。所以,平時就要多跟著錄音模仿外國人的語音、語調,從而培養出屬于自己的地道的語音、語調。

2.鞏固自己的詞匯及語法知識

英語無論在詞組、句型還是語法上都與漢語有著不同的特點。有些句子漢語和英語的表達很不一樣,甚至截然相反。英語語言的表達豐富,一詞多義也很普遍,因此我們平時應注意積累。而句子的時態、語氣、語態經常決定說話人的意圖,在英語學習及應用中也應格外重視。

3.增加閱讀量,積累文化背景知識

語言是文化的載體。缺乏對英語的國家的文化背景、歷史知識、風土人情、宗教信仰、禮儀等方面知識的了解,會對聽力理解產生一定的障礙。而考生如果知識面較廣,對各國文化背景熟悉,則在做聽力題目是有較大優勢。

我們除在平時積極訓練聽力外,學習一些聽力技巧也會對提高聽力成績有一定的幫助。

1)抓緊時間預覽題目。因為聽力考試項目的播放時間及次數是有限的,如果我們在聽錄音錢就快速閱讀題目,盡力記住書面考題內容,就可以根據所給的選項判斷出該題目的話題重點,并可以調動自己所知的一切相關的背景知識,那么就可以提高聽力識別效率。如果單詞辨析題,我們可以根據所給選項推斷考題所要我們分辨的音素,因此我們就可以在聽音時著重的聽這個音素;句子理解部分,我們可以通過預覽發現各個選項的相同及相異之處,在聽錄音時就可以著重聽相異之處;而對對話及短文理解題目選項的預覽就更為重要,通過預覽我們可以判斷出短文話題及錄音的重點,可以大大降低聽力測試的難度,所以我們應抓要緊一切時間,包括發下考卷后的空隙,以及錄音中播放考試題目要求的時間來預覽試題。

2)要善于抓關鍵詞句。我們在預覽的基礎上確定了該題目的測試重點,在聽錄音的時候我們就要帶著這個問題,有的放矢地聽。如果聽對話或短文時,更應該盡力理解全文的主要內容,抓住主要情節、時間、地點及過程,無需苛求聽懂每一個字、每一句話,否則我們只能獲得零散的信息,無法抓住全文的梗概,所以能否抓著文章要點去整體理解文章是提高聽力的關鍵。

3)要善于做簡單的記錄。對于一些比較復雜和較長的句子,或有需要計算的題目以及一些比較復雜的看圖聽力題,可在聽音時做些簡單的記錄,這樣可以大大方便解題,記錄應簡單、恰當,可用縮寫、簡寫、符號等。

4)聽力測試中,學生心緒調整至關重要。首先在聽音前不可太緊張嗎,否則會影響聽音,而當出現漏聽或者選擇無把握時,千萬不能計較個別題的得失,寧可放掉一題,也不可停留在原題上思考、沉不住氣、心慌意亂或產生緊張或懊惱的情緒,否則會造成連失幾題的可能。正確的做法是當機立斷,抓緊時間做下面的一題,否則等到下面一題開始播放再轉過來就來不及了。

隨著英語新教材的啟用,加強學生的聽力訓練,提高學生聽力理解水平,已經受到廣大英語教師的高度重視。但是,筆者認為,目前初中英語的聽力教學還處于起點階段,距新課標所規定的目標尚有一定的距離。筆者九年你學生中做過一次關聽力測試的問卷調查,統計結果表明,近50% 的學生以為目前英語學習中最感困難,最為頭疼的是聽力理解,37% 的學生感到每次考試之后聽力部分是最沒有把握的。聽力理解障礙何在?如何培養學生聽英語的能力,提高他們的聽力水平,筆者想就此略陳管見。

1.聽力理解障礙

1.1 母語干擾的障礙。許多學生在聽到一段語音信息后,常受母語干擾,習慣用中文逐句逐詞翻譯出來,而不能直接將語音信息轉化為一定的情景,不能直接用英語進行思維,多了個中間環節,這種心譯影響了反應速度和記憶效果。

1.2 文化背景知識的障礙。語言是文化的一種表現形式,把英語作為來學習外語的學生必須具備一定的英美歷史的語言文學知識,還需了解和熟悉一些英美國家人民的生活習慣,文化背景,風土人情及生活方式,不少中學生由于缺乏這方面的知識,聽力理解便產生一定困難。如一些聽力材料中常會出現 Thanksgiving,AprilFool學生對西方的感恩節、愚人節等不甚了解,就會對這些感到茫然。

1.3 心理因素的障礙。聽力理解的過程也是一個較復雜的心理活動過程。心理學家告訴我們,當人的情緒處于緊張焦慮的狀態時,就會產生恐懼心理,從而使原來可以聽懂的內容也大打折扣。另外,外部環境對學生也有較大的影響,環境的變化會使學生在心理上產生相應的變化。同樣的聽力內容,學生在教室里聽教師授課和在語音室里聽錄音的心理準備和活動的方式是不一樣的。而多數學生又不善于高速心理變化,從而造成聽力理解上的因難。學生在聽音時的情感因素和聽力理解的有效程度也有著直接的聯系。如果學生聽音目的明確并有強烈的聽音個體,其效果就好。反之,會產生心理抵觸和厭惡情緒。

2.聽力理解的訓練策略

2.1 增加背景知識和聽力心理的訓練。首先,語言是在一定的背景下使用的,初中學生是否能順利完成聽力的學習,關鍵因素之一就是要掌握大量的語言知識背景,包括文化背景、社會背景以及生活習慣的背景。如果學生的英語背景知識面過窄,那就無法正確理解材料的意義。如在關于“Greatpeople”的聽力訓練中,如果教師在平時的教學中對學生進行偉大人物事跡和歷史的講解,學生對偉大的歷史人物有初步的了解,那在聽力中就可以很快地進入聽力情境,掌握聽力的內容。其次,教師要及時關注學生的心理變化,根據學生的實際情況,對學生的聽力心理進行疏導,幫助學生調整心態,以積極合理的心態進行聽力的學習。

2.2 重視培養學生聽力理解的技巧與良好聽的習慣。在聽力教學中,教師要注意對學生進行聽力技巧的訓練,這是提高學生聽力理解水平的有效措施。所謂聽力技巧,包括語音技巧和聽力技巧。語音技巧包括連讀、弱讀、句子重音、意群劃分等。而理解技巧是指對所聽內容的檢索、預測、取舍等技巧。教師要教會學生聽音前注意操練、捕捉信息,即要快速地瀏覽習題,捕捉一切可以從題面上得到的信息,聽的時候要邊聽邊記,強化記憶,記錄時要有重點,有技巧,如數詞用阿拉伯數字記錄,地點、人名用代號,長詞用縮句,長句抓住主要成份。“抱住西瓜,再撿芝麻”,聽句子回答問題時要把題干和問題有機地聯系在一起,聽對話和短文時,要抓住主旨大意,切忌因

聽、說、讀、寫在語言學習中有著密不可分的聯系,將“說”、“讀”、“寫”也納入“聽”的訓練范疇,對聽力提高有促進作用。聽說,是在聽懂的基礎上說,在說的同時發現自己所表達的與聽到的之間的差別,增強聽的能力,使兩者相互促進。聽讀,即聽完一兩遍錄音后,進行跟讀。錄音對句子的重讀、弱讀、失爆等規則表現明顯,學生在跟讀時,可憑所聽到的內容進行揣摩,從而掌握朗讀技巧,這對語感及語言感悟力的培養有著極其重要的作用。聽寫,即在聽力課前,引導學生在進行聽音記錄時,對關鍵性的詞采用首字母語或一些簡圖來記錄語篇意義。另外,平常聽寫單詞時要有意識地準備一些音相近的單詞以加強學生的記憶力,使其更好地理解所聽內容。

在聽力理解中,社會文化背景知識起著非常大的作用,可以減少聽者在一定程度上對聲音的依賴,增強其對材料的描述及推理能力,從而更好地理解聽力材料。學生要提高聽力水平,就必須跨越由文化差異所造成的文化障礙,有意識地培養使用英語思維的能力,努力排除本族語言的干擾。聽力材料的內容往往涉及西方國家的文化、地理、歷史、風土人情以及生活常識等。在聽力教學中,教師需講解西方國家的文化背景,指導學生去適應東西方文化間的差異。另外,還應鼓勵學生廣泛閱讀,教師可向學生推薦適合他們的西方雜志,使他們熟悉各方面的背景知識,增加對聽力材料的熟悉度,進而更準確地理解所聽內容。

5.注意學生良好心理素質的培養

保持良好的狀態,自覺養成好習慣對于聽力的培養十分的重要。目前,初中生的心理控制能力有較大的發展,但是他們又有心理狀態可塑性強的特點。從聽力訓練的初始階級就應強調培養良好的心理素質的積極性。首先,要對學生加強學習目的教育,鼓勵學生樹立信心,增強克服困難的勇氣。教師要明確告訴學生,聽是學好英語的重要途徑之一,要加以重視。同時不否認聽力理解有相當的難度,只要正視它,經過持之以恒的努力是能夠克服的。其次,教師在課堂上要創設一個輕松和諧的氣氛,努力消除學生因害怕、擔憂、反感而產生的心理障礙。第三,教師在課堂上要引入競爭機制,激發學生聽的興趣,看到學生一點一滴的進步,要適時給予表揚。如在訓練時可采用搶答方式,看誰反應迅速,答得正確性。
