《英語課程標準》指出:“基礎教育階段英語課程的任務是激發和培養學生學習英語的興趣,使學生掌握一定的英語基礎知識和聽、說、讀、寫技能,形成一定的綜合語言運用能力。”小學是英語學習的啟蒙階段,它關系著整個學習階段的學習質量,而學好語音是英語學習入門的關鍵,是培養學生進行“聽說讀寫”四會能力的基礎。因此,如何教好音標已成為我們小學英語教師亟需探索的問題。下面是本人在這方面的做法。

一、提前音標教學,因事制宜

對于小學生來說,英語是一門陌生的學科,英語中的不少發音與漢語相差甚遠。在初學英語時,常有學生用漢語拼音或漢字給單詞“注音”,如單詞“pen”學生注上“碰”,“bus”學生注上“巴斯”等等,結果導致學生往往將及其簡單的音發錯,造成發音不準,如果說漢語拼音是學生認識漢字的拐杖,那么學好音標不就是通往英語學習成功之路的一座橋梁嗎?有鑒于此,在五年級學生剛學了二十六個英文字母后,我就對他們進行了為期一周的音標教學。首先是48個音素的標準發音,為了便于學生記憶和掌握,我摒棄了原始的枯燥乏味的“填鴨式”教學,教學生用“掐頭法”、“去尾法”、“對比法”、“兒歌記憶法”等,使學生避免了死記硬背,學起來輕松、有趣,只用很短的時間就把音標記住了,效果更佳。如“掐頭法”即將部分輔音字母的名稱音中的第一個音去掉,余下的音即為該字母在單詞中的讀音,例:Ff[ef]→[e][f]去[e]余[f];Ss[es] →[e][s]去[e]余[s]等。“去尾法”即將部分輔音字母名稱音中后面的音去掉,余下的音即為該字母在單詞中的讀音,例Bb[bi:] →[b][i:]去[i:]余[b];Vv[vi:] →[v][i:]去[i:]余[v]等等。教輔音[g]、1 [h]、[j]、[w]、[r]時可將其與漢語拼音g、h、j、w、r的發音進行對比,加以記憶。學完48個音素,我對五個元音字母Aa、Ee、Ii、Oo、Uu在重讀開、閉音節,非重讀音節中的發音規律及一些字母組合的發音等,做了講解和歸納,學生通過這樣相對集中的學習,為以后學習單詞打下了堅實的基礎。

二、指導正確拼讀,因勢利導

在音標學習初期,往往有學生對音標的拼讀不得法,尤其是含三個以上音素的音標。于是我引導學生像拼漢語拼音一樣試拼音標,并采用比較練習的方法反復訓練,如[?k],[k?],[a:m],[ma:]。通過練習學生逐漸掌握了方法,會拼讀較復雜的音標了。對于三個以上音素的音標,我采用拼湊法拼讀,如[m?p],先拼[m-?],然后在這個合成音后面在加上[p],對于含有兩個音節以上的音標則采用組合法。如[‵h?pi],先拼[h?]和[pi],然后將兩個音節組合在一起,讀[h?pi],在提醒學生注意重音,多讀幾遍就可以了,這種方法對于學生打好語音基礎上大有裨益。在以后的單詞教學中,我欣喜的發現一般的學生都能根據音標自己拼讀單詞,聰明的學生還能根據發音規則來記憶單詞,大大節省了學生背單詞的時間。

三、游戲中學音標,寓教于樂

愛玩、活潑、好動是小學生的天性,玩中樂,樂中學,學中受益。因此,我們可以經常開展一些競賽性、趣味性、啟發性較強的游戲,讓學生走一走、動一動、讀一讀、拼一拼,激發學生進入樂學狀態。

1、搶讀音標

將全班學生分成若干小組。然后教師逐個出示一些音標卡片,學生們舉手搶答,教師讓最先舉手的學生讀出該音標,讀對的給該組記10分,得分最多的組為優勝。

2、聽音摘音標、這是一個訓練學生聽認音標能力的游戲,首先教師把所學過的音標寫 在卡片上,共寫兩組,分別貼在黑板上,然后把學生分成兩組,游戲開始,每組的第一名學生在黑板前等候,教師說出一個音標,這兩名學生應立即摘下教師所念的音標卡片,放到講臺上,摘的對而快的得2分,對而慢的得1分,不對的不得分。在教師念第一個音標時,各組的第二名學生應上前等候,在第一名學生摘玩音標后,教師立即念另一個音標,游戲接著進行,最后得分多的組為優勝。

3、聽單詞找音標

這個游戲的玩法與游戲2相似,不同的是,我們在黑板上貼的是兩組元音音標的卡片,游戲開始,我們說的不是音標而是單詞,學生應摘下該單詞中所含的音標。

4、聽音標競賽

這是一個訓練學生聽音標的游戲,教師準備兩套音標卡片,并將全班分成兩組,沒人發一張卡片,教師快速念音標,持有該音標卡片的學生應迅速站起來,最先站起來的得兩分,后站出來的得一分,沒站出來的得零分,得分多的組獲勝。

5、看音標搶讀單詞、將全班同學分成若干小組,然后教師逐個出示一些單詞的音標卡片(如[k?p]),學生們舉手搶答,教師讓最先舉手的學生讀出該單詞,拼出來并說出詞義,讀對的給該組記10分,得分最多的組為優勝。

6、聽單詞找元音音標

教師準備若干套元音音標的卡片,然后讓每組出來五個人,每人發一張卡片(如五個元音字母的長音或短音)。游戲開始,教師說一個單詞,如play,拿卡片[ei]的學生應立即站出來并將卡片舉起,舉的快而對的給2分,舉的慢的給1分,沒舉或舉錯的不給分,最后得分多的組勝。做這個游戲,前期可按長元音、短元音或雙元音分開進行,后期可混合進行。

7、猜音標 全班分成若干組,教師教師給學生們出示若干個(如10個)音標卡片,讓學生們認讀后,教師任意抽出其中一張放在背后,依次讓各組學生猜,猜對的組得10分,然后教師再出示理另一張繼續讓學生猜,各組第一排的學生都猜過后,第二排的學生接著猜,最后看哪一組得分多。

8、摘蘋果

教師先在黑板上出示一張掛滿蘋果樹的掛圖,沒個蘋果都寫有一個單詞,如pen,red,ball,wall等,在出示幾個籃子,每只籃子都貼有一個音標,[e]、[?:]等,然后找幾名學生上前面來,把果樹上的蘋果摘下來,將含有相同元音的單詞放入相應的籃子里,如:將寫有pen,red的蘋果放在貼有音標[e]的籃子里,將寫有ball,wall的蘋果放入貼有音標[?:]的籃子里,最快最準確的獲勝。

9、找朋友

將學生分成兩組,教師發給學生每人一張單詞卡片(如pen),在另一組必定有一人持有一張相同元音音素的單詞卡片(如red)。游戲開始,教師說一個音素,如[e],手持含有此音素的單詞(即pen和red)的兩位學生應迅速站起來,并讀出這兩個單詞,最先站起來的得2分,后站起來的得1分,每站起來的得零分,得分多的組獲勝。

10、Bingo 每個學生準備一張紙,并在上面畫一個“井”字,將紙分成九格,然后教師隨便念九個學生的音標,學生邊聽邊將音標寫在格子中,隨便填在哪格里都行。學生填好后教師打亂次序念三個音標,哪個學生的三個音標在一條直線上就喊“Bingo”,然后將紙舉起請教師檢查,最先喊“Bingo”并寫得準確的學生獲勝。

11、運用Chant記音標

Chant以它優美的節奏和活潑的律動(如配以拍手、點頭等動作)深受孩子們的喜愛。它將枯燥乏味的音標學習變成了一個有趣的活動,極大地調動了孩子的積極性,學習效果明顯增強,如教 [?][b][k][ei][f][e][??][i]時可編這樣一段Chant: A is apple [?] [?] [?] b is bag [b][b][b] c is cat [k] [k] [k] d is dog [d] [d] [d] e is egg [e] [e] [e] f is face [f] [f] [f] Show me your hands,clap clap clap [?] [?] [?] Show me your heads,nod nod nod [?] [?] [?] Show me your arms,wave wave wave [ei] [ei] [ei] Show me your eyes,wink wink wink [i] [i] [i]

四、激發學習動機,導之以情

特級教師于綺有一句名言:“要把學生培養成人,須著力點燃學生心靈的火花;要點燃學生心靈的火花,教師自己必須是一個火把,必須心中充滿炙熱的陽光。”只有激發起學生的好奇心和求知欲,使他們在學習過程中產生進一步學習的愿望和要求,才能使他們更深入地學習。因此在音標教學中,我一方面指導學生正確的學習方法,另一方面采用豐富多彩、生動活潑的游戲活動吸引和感染學生,讓學生充分感受到英語學習的趣味性,從而更喜愛英語這門課程。心理學研究表明:讓學生動眼、動耳、動手、動腦、動心、動情,將有助于學生全面、主動地發展。其次,在每次的課堂教學中,在游戲活動中,對于讀的既快又準的學生,我或是給予贊許的微笑,或是慈愛地撫摸一下學生的小腦袋,或是真誠的贊揚:“Good!”“Great!”“Well done!”此時師生同樂,學生更是心情愉快,與老師的心貼得更近了,師生感情更融洽了。蘇霍姆林斯基說:“成功的快樂是一種巨大的精神力量,它可以促使兒童產生好好學習的愿望。”學生有了這種成就感,學習英語的信心會更足,學習興趣更濃厚,進一步提高了學習效果,形成良性循環。然后是要注意學生的個別差異,對于班上一些接受能力強、學得好的學生教師可得出更高的要求,如單詞拼讀時,要求他們從單個音素增補的口拼過程直接拼讀出每個音節的讀音,這樣使他們不斷努力,獲取更大的進步;對于部分學習時有思想包袱的學生我告訴他們其實音標拼讀很簡單,而且我們學的只是初級知識,鼓勵他們多拼、多讀;對于學習有困難的后進生,我給他們降低學習要求,分解難點,稍有成就和進步即予以表揚。

學習英語,聽、說、讀、寫四種能力不可偏廢,而正確的發音是基礎,音標的學習更是基礎的基礎。如果以開始這個基礎打不好,以后發音就不正確,將來往往沒法開口,成為“啞巴英語”。所以在小學這個英語學習的啟蒙階段,教師應該抓實音標教學,讓每一個學生都能講一口地道流利的英語。
