(一)I.簡介:
1.教學大綱要求:
根據《高等院校英語專業基礎階段英語教學大綱》對聽力理解部分的要求:能聽懂英語國家人士關于日常生活﹑社會生活的講演或交談,聽懂難度與TOEFL中Minitalk等相同的材料,及以BBC和VOA為主的國際新聞節目的內容,并就以上材料進行推理﹑分析。
2.考試大綱要求:
根據1997年出版的《高等院校英語專業基礎階段英語考試大綱》(修訂本),聽力理解部分共包含三個部分:單人陳述﹑兩人對話﹑新聞廣播。所選材料可以是描述性﹑解釋性或說明性的,反映日常生活的句子﹑對話,及一般性的新聞報道和短評等,題材涉及社會﹑文化﹑經濟﹑科學﹑藝術﹑人文等等。其中出現的語法難度不超出大綱的相關規定,詞匯原則上不超過大綱對四級的詞匯要求,但BBC和VOA中有個別新聞報道的用語或生詞,要求考生能根據上下文猜測。背景知識應在考生掌握或理解的常識之內,不會出現超出原文專門測試背景知識或智力的題目。
聽力理解部分為客觀測試題型,共25道題目,要求考生從所提供的四個選擇項中選擇一個最佳答案,每題僅限選擇一個答案,多選無效,答錯不倒扣分。
聽力理解材料的錄音由來自英美國家的專家錄制,有英式也有美式英語,但不帶明顯的地方口音。錄音的語速為120詞/每分鐘,只念一遍,在每個問句后留有約10秒的間隙,供考生回答問題。考試時間長度共20分鐘,原始積分為25分,在總分中所占比重為15%。
II.建議:
聽力雖然屬于接受性技能,但聽力理解部分的考試實際上是對考生進行聽﹑讀﹑理解和記憶能力的綜合性測試。它要求考生在聽懂語言材料后,運用語言知識,如語音語調﹑語義﹑句法,以及調動非語言知識,如文化背景﹑常識,推測并判斷出合乎原文的正確答案。但是由于聽力內容瞬間即逝的特點,還要求考生具有一定的記憶能力。因此,聽力考試對非英語國家的學生來說,一直是個頗具挑戰的項目。那么如何提高考生的成績呢? 那就要考生從聽力測試所涉及的幾個方面有的放矢地提早做些準備。
1.語言知識方面:
(1)語音語調:只有掌握標準的讀音,熟悉連讀﹑重讀﹑弱讀﹑爆破﹑同化的英語發音特點,考生才能不受答案項中的語音干擾;了解美式與英式發音的異同,才能正確理解所聽內容。除了具有一般的語調知識外,還要特別注意口語中語調的的表意功能:因為同一句話用不同的語調,表達的是說話者也許完全相反的情緒和態度,如:陳述句通常用降調表示肯定,而有時用升調,表達的就不是肯定語氣,而是相反,即不肯定﹑疑惑﹑驚奇等;通常情況下用升調的一般疑問句,如果用降調,更多的是表示肯定而非疑問。只有具備扎實的基礎,才能更快更準確地理解原文;只有長期堅持不懈地進行大量的泛聽,接觸各種不同題材﹑不同語音語調的聽音材料,才能為此做好準備。
(2)詞匯:單詞是構成一切語言的基礎。我們強調的不是脫離大綱的難詞﹑偏詞,而是對大綱內的詞匯的熟練程度。在此基礎上積累詞組﹑習慣用語﹑成語﹑同義詞﹑近義詞及諺語
等方面的知識。如:在問題中經常要求對原文釋義(What does the speaker mean),而答案項通常用與原文不同的詞或詞組表達與原文相同或相近的意思,不徹底了解單詞詞組或慣用語,沒有足夠的詞匯量,即便聽懂了,面對四個選擇也只能是束手無策。同時考生要養成用英語思維的習慣,用英英字典查詢,用英語的概念理解原文,潛移默化,才能更快作出反應。
(3)句法結構:掌握不同的句型結構,有助于正確理解其所表達的功能和意念。如:“No sooner...than...”,如果我們了解這個結構,就知道它所表示的時間前后關系了。
