教學目的
一、借鑒荀子有關學習的意義和學習態度的論述。
二、掌握、積累“勸、學、青、中、疾、致、假、絕、興、功、強、用”12個文言常用實詞;學習“于、者、而”3個文言常用虛詞;學習、復習課文中其他文言虛實詞;熟記“有(又)、暴(曝)、生(性)、輮(煣)、知(智)、乎(于)”等古今字和通假字。
三、理解從三個角度論述中心論點的方法。
四、學習以喻代議、寓議于喻的設喻方法。教學設想
一、抓住文眼,定好教眼。中心論點是本文的文眼,它分三個分論點從三個角度論述、體現本文的思想性和邏輯性,這是本文的教學難點;比喻的含義和內在聯系以及比喻論證,這是本文的教學重點。抓住提示論點的關鍵語句和用以論證的比喻,不僅可以明確本文論點和論證方法,揭示作品的思想性和寫作特點,而且一些文言詞句的重要問題也可迎刃而解。
二、本文的教學難點和教學重點,與分析段落層次相結合,以利于學生理解論述的角度和設喻的幾種形式。
三、要求學生重點掌握的文言虛實詞,先指導學生借助注釋、工具書,結合課文語境,理解其意義和用法,然后通過課堂點撥、課后“思考和練習”、補充練習以及熟讀、背誦等反復訓練,才能切實掌握。
四、引導學生有意識地注意文言實詞的古字通假、古今異義、單音詞和雙音詞等現象。

三、導入新課。
從初一學過的課文《為學》導入,指出它與本文都用設喻方法,講有關學習的道理。
四、作者介紹(結合注釋①)。
荀子(約公元前313—前238)名況字卿,戰國末期趙國人,曾游學于齊,當過楚國蘭陵令。后來失官居家著書,死后葬于蘭陵。
荀子是我國古代的思想家、教育家、是先秦儒家最后的代表,樸素唯物主義思想集大成者。韓非和李斯都是他的學生。他反對迷信天命鬼神,肯定自然規律是不以人們意志為轉移的,并提出“制天命而用之”的人定勝天的思想。他強調教育和禮法的作用,主張治理天下既要靠“法制”,又要重視教化兼用“禮”治,強調“行”對于“知”的必要性和后天學習的重要性,認為后天環境和教育可以改變人的本性。荀子的著作有《荀子》二十卷。該書由《論語》、《孟子》的語錄體,發展為有標題的論文,標志著古代說理文的進一步成熟。他的散文說理透徹、語言質樸、多排比句,又善用比喻。《勸學》是《荀子》的第一篇。本文是原文前幾段的節錄。
五、解題。
《勸學》的“勸”起著統領全篇的作用。教師先在黑板上寫一個“勸”字,問道:這個字是什么意思?學生往往會不假思索地回答:“勸告”。教者趁此在“勸”字后加上一個“學”,再問:“勸”是什么意思?學生才會領悟:原來它還有“勸勉”的意思。這在心理學上叫做給學生建立“注意中心”。接著就講:“勸”的繁體字“勤”是形聲字,凡是用“力”作聲旁的字,多數有給人們勉勵的意思,如“勵”、“努”等。這是“勸”的本義,而在現代漢語中,“勸”,解釋為“勸阻”,詞義已經轉移了。作者在這篇以《勸學》為題目的文章中,勉勵人們要不停止地堅持學習,只有這樣才能增長知識,發展才能,培養高尚的品德。
六、指導學生處理課文字詞句中的疑難問題。1.對照注釋,借助字典,正字正音 第一組:通假字

(1)君子曰:學不可以已。“君子”是一個合成雙音詞。“可以”在古漢語中是兩個單音詞,相當于現代漢語“可以、用它”的意思。在本文具體語境中,“以”已失去介詞的作用,只協調音節。因此,這兩個詞中只有“可”有意義,與現代漢語的“可以”差不多;它還表示情理上應當如此,可譯為“應該”。全句譯為:有學問有修養的人說,學習是不應該(可以、能夠)停止的。
(2)木直中繩,以為輪,其曲中規。句中兩個“中”作動詞,“符合”的意思。“繩”指木工取直用的墨線,這個詞的意義現在已擴大,泛指各種繩索。“輮”和“為”是兩個動詞,“輮”通“煣”,指古代用火熨木使之彎曲的一種方法,現作“揉”,解釋“使??彎曲”。“為”,做成。“以”在兩個動詞之間表明它后邊的行為是它前邊行為的目的或結果,作連詞用,譯作“而”。全句譯為:(一塊)木材直得合乎(木匠拉直的)墨線,假如使它彎曲而成為車輪,它的孤度(就可以)符合圓規(畫的圓圈)。
(3)積善成德,而神明自得,圣心備焉。句中“神明”即“神靈”;“圣心”指完美的品德和最高的智慧;“自得”不是現代漢語中的合成雙音詞,“自”是自然,“得”是通;“而”是表示困果關系的連詞。這句譯為:積累善行養成美德,因而能自通于神明,完美的品德和最高的智慧也就具備了。
(4)假舟楫者,非能水也,而絕江河。句中“舟揖”是合成雙音詞,偏義復詞,聯系上下文,偏指舟。“水”,名詞用如動詞,“游泳”。“絕”是會意字,從“纟”,從“刀”,從“卩”(象人形),意思是人用刀橫斷絲織品,“絕江河”很像橫斷水流,所以“絕”引申為“橫渡”。“江河”古人專指長江、黃河,現在的詞義擴大了,泛指一切江、河。全句譯為:借助船只的人,并不是能游泳,但是能橫渡江河。
(5)蚓無爪牙之利,筋骨之強,上食埃土,下飲黃泉,用心一也。句中兩個“之”是定語后置的標志。“爪牙”在本文中是兩個單音詞,它們的本義是爪子、牙齒。后來形成褒義的比喻義:幫手、武士;現代又轉為貶義的比喻義:幫兇、走狗,詞義的感情色彩有了變化。“強”讀qiáng,堅硬的意思。“上”、“下”方位詞作狀語,“向上”、“向下”。“黃泉”是特殊的單純雙音詞。“用心”不是合成雙音詞,“用”是引介原因的介詞,譯作“由于、因為”、“心”是“心思”的意思。“一”,作動詞,專一的意思。全句澤為:蚯蚓沒有鋒利的爪牙,堅硬的筋骨,(卻能)上吃泥土,下飲地下水,(這是)由于心思專一(的緣故)。
5.指名學生朗讀課文,其他學生聽讀,指出字音、語氣讀錯的地方。

第一題:作者是從哪幾個角度論述中心論點的?
第二:題:本文的每組比喻包含什么意思?各組比喻之間在意義上育什么內在聯系? 第三題:本文設喻有什么特點?
由學生分段試譯,試講,教師重點點撥。1.結合課文段落層次分析,討論第一、二題: 本文第一句提出全文的中心論點:學不可以已。接著圍繞這個中心論點分三段從三個不同角度進行論述:
第一段作者用了五個比喻。是從總論學習的重要性這個角度來論述中心論點的。第二段作者用了五個比喻。是從學習的重要作用這個角度來論述中心論點。第三段作者用了十個比喻。是從學習的方法和態度這個角度來論述中心論點的。2.討論第三題:
本文是闡述學習道理的議論文,通篇設喻,使所講道理形象生動,深入淺出,既有說眼力又有感染力。本文的設喻特點:
(1)以日常生活中常見的事情或現象作為喻體。如說明“學不可以已”之理,作者用了人們生活中常見的靛青色的提取,車輪的制造以及水寒冷而成冰等事例為喻加以說明,充分表達了“學不可以已”而必須有所造就的道理。這樣化深奧為淺近,由感性到理性,令人心悅誠服。
(2)設喻方式多樣:①正面設喻,如“青出于藍”、“冰寒于水”、“輮木為輪”、“金就礪則利”等從正面闡明學習的重要性。②正反設喻,如“蚓”和“蟹”、“騏驥”和“駑馬”、“鍥而舍之”和“鍥而不舍”,通過正反對照把所要說明的道理說得更具體明白。③反復設喻,如“跂而望”、“登高而招”、“順風而呼”、“假輿馬”、“假舟楫”,連用幾個不同的比喻,使讀者加深對道理的理解。
(3)設喻與說理結合緊密,形式十分靈活:①有的是將道理隱含于比喻之中,如“青出于藍”、“冰寒于水”;“鍥而舍之”、“鍥而不舍”。②有的先設喻,后引出道理,如第二段,作者先連用五個比喻,后引出“善假于物也”的道理。③有的先設喻,引出道理后,再用另外的比喻進一步論證,如第三段第一層,作者先用“積土成山”“積水成淵”設喻,引出“積善成德”的道理,再用“不積跬步”、“不積水流”兩個比喻從反面進一步論證。
