當(dāng)今世界在科技日新月異,生活水平不斷提高中進(jìn)步，但隨著人類社會的發(fā)展,人們在享受新科技帶來的快樂時(shí)，驀然回首,發(fā)現(xiàn)后邊卻是無窮無盡的環(huán)境污染，于是人類開始重視生存的環(huán)境和條件，對于改善環(huán)境的呼吁也越來越多了。經(jīng)濟(jì)要發(fā)展，社會要進(jìn)步，難道必然要以污染環(huán)境甚至是毀滅人類幾千年賴以生存的大自然為代價(jià)嗎？

童年的流水不再清澈了，兒時(shí)的天空不再綻放蔚藍(lán)的光彩，除夕夜打雪仗的場景已經(jīng)依稀不見了，只有留在畫板上凄涼的白雪覆蓋在門前??記憶中的一切美好都消失在城市巨大的煙囪里，彌漫在車水馬龍的汽車尾氣里。

綠色的蹤跡悄悄地萎縮，垃圾覆蓋在這片黃土上。僅中國而言，雖地大物博，但中國城市垃圾人均年產(chǎn)量的巨大就足以使之潰乏。1996年，中國城市生活垃圾清運(yùn)量達(dá)1億噸，而且以每年8%至10%的速度增長。垃圾的歷年堆存量達(dá)到60多億噸。塑料袋之所以被稱“人類最糟糕”的發(fā)明，就因?yàn)樗鳛槔y以被處理，這也就成為垃圾處理中的一大難題。這些垃圾使全國200多座城市陷入垃圾包圍之中，堆存侵占5億多平方米，到2000年，中國城市生活垃圾年產(chǎn)量達(dá)到了1.5億噸。成為人類嚴(yán)峻問題之一。
