I have never been to Troy, but David Maule made me feel as if I were standing on the high wall of Troy, watching the fierce war.Thanks to this British author, who adapted the famous Homer’s poem into a lively story, I found it easier to understand this story.Though the story happened over 3000 years ago in a remote place, I was deeply fascinated by it.The mysterious plot is one of the reasons why I loved The Story of Troy so much, yet I am more interested in the human heroes of the war.

Hector was the eldest son of king of Troy, priam.He was not only a real hero of Trojan, but was regarded the highest moral hero in Greek classic by later historians.The war started because of the mischief of his brother, paris, whom he didn’t appreciate.However, since Hector was the commander of the Trojan army, he was obliged to fight with all force.It was really a tragedy that such a valiant man died in the duel with another great warrior, Achilles.

It is natural to see death in a war.As a famous Chinese parable says, “A life can be as slight as a piece of feather, or as weighty as Mount Tai.” Sometimes, one’s glory walks hand in hand with one’s doom.Achilles was such a typical person.His personal charm made The Story of Troy more attractive.He was so crucial because his every appearance in a war encouraged his fellow soldiers and terrified the enemies.Actually, Achilles was half-god who was almost invincible in people’s mind.That’s why his name was memorized long after his death.

Besides the two great men, the wisdom of Odysseus also proved him to be a great hero.He didn’t want to attend the war because he was happily married and had a lovely son.However, since his country was allied to Mycenae, he had to take the command given by the king of Mycenae.I’m quite sure that the story of the wooden horse is widely known, however, few people know who thought of the brilliant idea, that’s why I admired Odysseus so much because he was the person who got the idea.Thanks to the horse, the ten-year war came to an end at last.If you want to know how the wooden horse worked, just read the book.

The ancient Greeks believed that the gods and goddesses also played important roles in the origin, process and ending of the whole story.

The story of the golden apple was such an example.When Eris, the goddess of argument and disagreement, threw out the golden apple to a wedding ceremony on Mount Olympus, a dispute happened.Hera, the queen of gods, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, were all involved in the argument for the apple.None of them was willing to give way, so they turned to paris for a final judgment.Tempted by Aphrodite’s beauty and promise, paris handed the apple to her.To keep her word, Aphrodite helped him to get Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world, as his wife.That was the cause of the war.

paris’s choice obviously annoyed the other two goddesses.So during the war, they helped the Greek alliance army while some other gods, such as Apollo and Aphrodite, guarded Troy.When paris dueled with Helen’s former husband Menelaus, Aphrodite saved paris when he was about to be finished off.

After the duel between those two people, there was a truce between the Greek alliance and Troy.However, both Hera and Athena were not happy to see it.Hera pursued her husband ZEUS:“ Now, will you send Athena to make the Troyjans break the peace?”(page 22)Then with Zeus’s permission, Athena went down to start the war again and finally she brought the Greeks to success.

From the whole story, we can see that in ancient Greeks’ view, gods sometimes played a much more important role in their life.However, with the rapid development of science, we have learned that the Greek gods never existed.This is why a recent movie of Troy has not mentioned a single god.Everything happened due to men’s ambition, love, loyalty or jealousy.With those emotion and people’s effort, we human beings can accomplish wonders and be master of the world.

God are of less importance than they used to be.Nonetheless, the gods and goddesses made The Story of Troy more mysterious and marvelous.

I have learnt from the book more than the wonderful story of history, love and war.I believe that human can determine their destiny by their own.I highly recommend this book to my friends with the same interest.

《荷馬史詩(shī)》里完全沒(méi)有涉及“和平”這個(gè)話(huà)題，但是用我們21世紀(jì)人的價(jià)值觀去讀這部巨作的時(shí)候，我們完全有權(quán)利引入“和平”這個(gè)話(huà)題，因?yàn)椋徊孔髌樊?dāng)它誕生了之后，它就不再屬于作者了。而且，經(jīng)典之所以會(huì)是經(jīng)典，就是因?yàn)樵诓煌臅r(shí)代，人們都能夠在里面找到當(dāng)代需要的東西。

《特洛伊戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)》是根據(jù)荷馬史詩(shī)改編，重要角色的性格也是跟史詩(shī)里的基本一致，唯獨(dú)有一樣不同，那就是觀念，里面的角色擁有了一些21世紀(jì)人的觀念，例如貫穿全文的一個(gè)問(wèn)題——為何而戰(zhàn)。里面的人開(kāi)始反思戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的意義，反思為何而戰(zhàn)。

“告訴我，你殺過(guò)人嗎??你看過(guò)戰(zhàn)死的人嗎??我殺過(guò)人，聽(tīng)過(guò)也看過(guò)他們死前的哀嚎，一點(diǎn)也不光榮，一點(diǎn)也不偉大，你說(shuō)你要為愛(ài)而死，你卻不懂死亡，更不懂愛(ài)情??”這是在古希臘時(shí)期的赫克托爾不可能會(huì)說(shuō)出的話(huà)，這段話(huà)是說(shuō)給21世紀(jì)的我們聽(tīng)的，這段話(huà)也只對(duì)于我們有意義。

阿基琉斯和赫克托爾在太陽(yáng)神殿里的對(duì)話(huà)更是直接地反映出現(xiàn)代觀念，反映現(xiàn)代人的反思——

“你為何而來(lái)？”

“這場(chǎng)戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)將流傳千古。”

“千百年后我們?cè)缁砂坠??你把戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)當(dāng)作游戲，你知道有多少妻子將失去丈夫嗎？”

顯然，赫克托爾的問(wèn)題是現(xiàn)代人才會(huì)問(wèn)的，也許，編劇問(wèn)的對(duì)象并不是阿基琉斯，他問(wèn)的對(duì)象也是某一些現(xiàn)代人。只有這樣，這個(gè)問(wèn)題才顯得有意義。

“你來(lái)特洛伊想得到什么？你要的不是斯巴達(dá)王后。”

“男人都要些什么，我只想要更多。

“你以為阿伽門(mén)農(nóng)會(huì)關(guān)心他弟弟，他是為權(quán)利而戰(zhàn)，不是愛(ài)情。”

所有的這些問(wèn)題、對(duì)話(huà)都不是古希臘人會(huì)想的、會(huì)說(shuō)的。

更難能可貴的是，這部影片不僅想到了戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)雙方首領(lǐng)為何而戰(zhàn)，還想到了在戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)中、在歷史上默默無(wú)聞卻又是戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的主要組成部分的士兵究竟為何而戰(zhàn)——

“士兵為了素為謀面的國(guó)王而戰(zhàn)，奉命行事，為國(guó)捐軀。”

“士兵必須服從命令。”

“別為了一個(gè)愚蠢的國(guó)王賠上自己的性命。”

一個(gè)士兵究竟為何而戰(zhàn)？

為了國(guó)王？如果跟的是一個(gè)愚蠢的國(guó)王呢？愚忠是可愛(ài)還是可笑？

為了戰(zhàn)利品？一個(gè)士兵能夠得到多少戰(zhàn)利品？值得用性命去換取嗎？

為了國(guó)家？也許只有這個(gè)答案能讓人接受，可惜那個(gè)時(shí)候國(guó)王就代表了國(guó)家的意志。

無(wú)論一場(chǎng)戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)在歷史上如何耀眼，一個(gè)士兵的名字都不可能載入史冊(cè)，即使他為此獻(xiàn)出了生命。甚至，也許他到死的時(shí)候都不明白他為什么要結(jié)束戰(zhàn)場(chǎng)上那些跟他一樣無(wú)知的人，他們都僅僅是一顆棋子，一場(chǎng)游戲里的棋子。在《荷馬史詩(shī)》里，所有的參戰(zhàn)者都是眾神的棋子，即使是英雄如赫克托爾和阿基琉斯，但反過(guò)來(lái)說(shuō)，他們何嘗不是利用了眾神呢，阿基琉斯透過(guò)他母親，可以讓宙斯一會(huì)幫這邊一會(huì)幫那邊，可以讓眾神們起內(nèi)訌；在現(xiàn)實(shí)中，所有的士兵都是國(guó)家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的棋子。

去批判阿基琉斯時(shí)代的人們熱愛(ài)戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)是毫無(wú)意義的，但是，身處21世紀(jì)的我們應(yīng)該從中得到啟示。

除了為何而戰(zhàn)，無(wú)論是《荷馬史詩(shī)》還是《特洛伊戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)》都牽扯出另一個(gè)問(wèn)題——為何而活？

“你留下來(lái)，能過(guò)平靜的生活，你會(huì)找到一個(gè)好女人生下許多小孩，兒孫滿(mǎn)堂，他們會(huì)敬愛(ài)你，你走了他們也會(huì)記得你，當(dāng)你的子孫后代都不在人世，你的名字就會(huì)被遺忘；如果你去特洛伊，榮耀將屬于你，你的偉大事跡將流傳千古，世人將永遠(yuǎn)記住你的名字，但如果你去特洛伊，你將無(wú)法再回來(lái)，你的榮耀將為你帶來(lái)滅亡??”阿基琉斯最終選擇了為榮耀而死，他無(wú)悔！

這些體現(xiàn)的是一個(gè)很現(xiàn)代的詞——人生觀。

人生觀沒(méi)有對(duì)錯(cuò)，仁者見(jiàn)仁，智者見(jiàn)智，愿意如何選擇是個(gè)人的自由，只要對(duì)自己的決定負(fù)責(zé)即可。

在很多個(gè)無(wú)眠的夜晚，我也曾想過(guò)這個(gè)問(wèn)題；我的人生為何而活。

這是一個(gè)非常難的問(wèn)題，可是我又不愿意像許多人一樣，快樂(lè)卻糊涂無(wú)知地過(guò)了一輩子。我愿意相信，上天讓每一個(gè)人來(lái)到這個(gè)世界上都有一個(gè)任務(wù)，這個(gè)任務(wù)不是上天給你安排的，是自己給自己定的，這個(gè)任務(wù)必須花上你的一輩子，讓你畢生為之奮斗，當(dāng)你完成了任務(wù)的時(shí)候，在你臨死前，你就可以笑著說(shuō)，你一生無(wú)撼了。

----The shining human nature When I was a senior high school student, I knew something about Helen’s beauty and the war between Troy and Greece fought for her.Recently, I saw the movie--troy, and it was the first time that I completely and thoroughly knew about this war story.As is known to us all, this war is caused by Helen, the Spartan queen, she is so beautiful that Paris, the Trojan prince, fell deeply in love with her and persuaded her to run away with him to Troy.Then Helen’s husband, the king of Spata, decided to attack Troy and look for the help of his brother, the king of Mycenae, a selfish and brutal man, who just want to conquer troy and expand his power.In this movie, what impressed me most was not Helen’s beauty, but hector and Achilles’ brave and the good side of human nature the movie showed to us.First, I like hector most;he is a true hero in my mind.He desires peace and happiness, he love his country, his wife and his brother and he wants his son grow up with his care.Actually, he has won the peace for the country in the beginning, but his younger brother’s irresponsible behavior made him involved in the war again.He never complains and just takes the responsibility to protect his country and his family.He bravely faced the challenge of Achilles after he killed Achilles’ cousin by mistake, even if he knew he would be killed by Achilles.Achilles is a romantic hero in his movie, he was born a skillful warrior and he never be controlled by anyone.Originally, he just fight for glory and immortality, but he changed his attitude toward the war and felt tired of the war and the fight when he fell in love with Briseis.That was the first time in his life that he found peace and quiet.It’s the love that changed him and he died for his love at last.At the end of this movie, troy was captured by the Greeks because of a wooden horse.The two heroes and the kings all died.So there is no winner in this war.maybe the only winner is the human nature.It’s the human nature that make hector his country and his family despite of losing his own life, and it’s the human nature that make Achilles give up chasing glory and then protect the girl he loved, and it’s the human nature that make the king of troy to plead for his son’s body at night.All of these are the shininess of human nature.

相對(duì)于穩(wěn)定的赫克托爾，阿基里斯的變化則更多更復(fù)雜些，經(jīng)歷了五個(gè)變化階段：一向自負(fù)自負(fù)的他為了追求千古留名而參加戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)----遇到女祭司布里賽伊斯后他陷入愛(ài)河感受到了對(duì)穩(wěn)定的愛(ài)情，生活的依戀，看著熟睡的布里賽伊斯他決定放棄名利退出戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)----事情由于帕特洛克羅斯被殺而都讓轉(zhuǎn)折，即“阿基里斯的盛怒”，他毆打了心腹將領(lǐng)至布里賽伊斯于不顧，讓我懷疑他是否愛(ài)布里賽伊斯----在殺死赫克托爾之后，他接受了特洛伊國(guó)王普利阿摩斯的乞求并在赫克托爾的尸體前流了淚，這時(shí)的他已經(jīng)開(kāi)始反思自己冤冤相報(bào)，爭(zhēng)名奪利的行為----在木馬計(jì)攻城前，他遣散了部下讓他們返鄉(xiāng)，這時(shí)的他已經(jīng)頓悟，價(jià)值觀改變得到了升華，進(jìn)特洛伊城也只是為了保護(hù)布里賽伊斯，之前對(duì)他的懷疑也得到了解釋。

至此人堅(jiān)守了他的完美，半神完成了他的蛻變，人與神在某種程度上達(dá)到了平等。說(shuō)白了。神不過(guò)是人虛擬出的一種超人，反映的也都是人性所具有的方面，人與神界限的模糊讓人顯得更真實(shí)，這就已經(jīng)達(dá)到電影所表達(dá)的目的了。
