Maximus went out to battle with his soldiers were success everywhere they went.At war, he was eager to went back home to get along with family.The emperor was sick and decides to demise his crown to Maximus.Unfortunately, Commodus as the crown prince saw this situation and killed all the relatives of Maximus.The reasons for Rome’s decline, first is the fall of Rome was a process lasting hundreds of years;it was not a single event that occurred is A.D.476.Second, only the western half of the Empire fell.After the emperor dead, Commodus ascends the throne.Maximus who was escape with bare life became a slave and was trained to a gladiator in the arena.He changed his goal and become braver.In order to get close to Commodus and revenge, he turn into the hero in the people's heart and lighted the flash point of the decline of Roman Empire.Maximus is a real hero and the lead of millions of soldiers for the Roman army, but he always remember the days he separate with his wife.He was got the chance to demise the crown, but he just wanted to back home to be a farmer.He is a real hero who has no lust of power.He thinks he can get along with his wife and son in happiness.Maximus has the good leadership and get the respect of others.Commodus is the son of the king.He was lack of reason and does things not rational.He is a king but no one will serve him.Maximus was a gracious soldier with high sense of ethics.To be loyalty to his nation, he put the dignity and honor of Roman Empire higher than himself.He also got the esteem and respect from his soldiers and people.I am not quite understand the American history and I just know the Civil War.This war was the large-scale civil war in the country.The reason will trace back to Lincoln's take office of president.He gave orders to attack the “revolting” state.Then it became the current event at that time and lead the slavery to be abolished in south of America.It also had a big influence on the folk in days to come.The army recruited the black to be the soldiers.So the president, Lincoln, won the support of parts of black man.It became one of the reason for succeed.Therefore, the only way to win the war is to obtain the support of people in the country.“What we do in life echoes in eternity” , from this word we can find out that Maximus was a good person and soldier.He cared about the interest of his country rather than his own interest.Only his soldiers were worth of death, he will be relieved.If their death can exchange for the good days of his people, he was willing to.This is also done for the descendants of them in the country's future.There is an old saying in China ”Although all men must die, someone must be worth dying and someone must not." They want to make the change of the future.

都說電影《角斗士》好，它到底好在哪里呢？

要說描寫古代戰爭的影視劇，那可真是數不勝數，《角斗士》的題材甚至還有老套之嫌。況且，現在的觀眾品味高了，光是打打殺殺和卿卿我我，已經不能讓有見解的人得到滿足。現代觀念促使人們對戰爭的關注點更集中于其根源上，尤其推崇雖不尚武但愿為和平而戰的英雄。電影《角斗士》就展示給我們這樣一位英雄，一位統率百萬大軍為羅馬而戰卻一日不忘與妻子分離了多少天的英雄，一位被授予王位卻執意要回家種地的淳樸的英雄。

區別真英雄和假英雄，有一個鮮明的標準，那就是看他有沒有權欲。比起屏幕上那些用贊賞的筆調描寫人的權欲怎樣實現怎樣揮灑的“皇帝劇”來，比起那些對鐵腕人物和大權獨攬者恭敬有加且不乏溢美之詞的娛樂片來，電影《角斗士》可以說是“鶴立雞群”。動人的影片之所以動人，必有聲音和畫面以外的東西使人產生共鳴。在影星拉塞爾·克勞扮演的角斗士麥克西姆的身上，有著感人至深的道德崇高感。他對祖國忠勇無私。在他的心目中，羅馬的尊嚴和榮譽遠在他個人的榮辱之上，否則他就不會在擔任一國之君的機會來臨時聲稱自己不懂政治。

身為弱者而沒有權欲，還不足以看出其美德。只有像片中麥克西姆那樣作為戰場上的無敵英雄而置權柄于不顧，才有充足理由被稱作風格高尚。而歷史和現實生活所呈現的情形，常常是權欲被當作男人的天性和美質，被加以揄揚。人們似乎忘記了，一個不想控制任何人同時也不愿被無端控制的人，其心理才可稱真正健康。畸形的文化觀念，造就銀幕熒屏畸形的英雄。畸形的英雄，敗壞著觀眾的審美趣味和價值觀念。《角斗士》以它特有的基于對人性深度思考的英雄觀，取得了振聾發聵的效果。

《角斗士》是一部真正意義上的史詩式動作巨片。這類影片之所以近年來罕見，主要是因為拍攝工程浩繁，投資巨大，非一般片商所能承受。《角斗士》耗資２·５億美元，動用了幾百名工程技術人員與工人，花了１９個星期重建了作為古羅馬文明神圣象征的角斗場。該片動作場面十分刺激，人們從野獸般的搏殺中，看到了頭顱橫飛，鮮血噴濺的鏡頭。在陣陣殺氣中，人們仿佛嗅到了血腥味。

就將觀眾帶到數千年前神秘古老的羅馬帝國，又暗合了影片悲壯的英雄主題。

影片的第二段配樂緊隨第一段音樂而出。這首配樂《The Wheat》頗具宗教色彩，來自Lisa Gerrard的低聲吟唱，繼續渲染著一種迷茫、不確定的氣氛，樂曲只有短短一分鐘，在樂曲后半段弦樂器的加入似乎代表著一股暗流，逐漸從女聲的低吟淺唱中分離出來，化為雄壯的主題音樂。

影片的第三段音樂正是這段叫做《The Battle》的主題，交響樂所演奏的軍隊進行曲式的配樂具有強勁的爆發力，伴隨著畫面上戰馬、軍隊的展示表現出了古戰場浩大的氣勢。配合將軍高呼“羅馬萬歲”帶領騎兵一往無前沖擊的畫面，表現出主人公無與倫比的勇氣和力量。隨著交戰場面到達激烈的高峰，刀槍碰撞的聲音和戰士呼號的聲音突然轉為一片寂靜，只有一段舒緩憂傷的漸漸響起，伴隨著慢放了的戰斗特寫，在原本已達到頂點的戰斗場面上更進一層，凸顯了戰斗的悲壯和殘酷，也為老皇帝之后表達的消除戰爭恢復和平的愿望作下鋪墊。

緊接著，畫面轉為戰后皇帝的一雙兒女乘車前往前線的畫面。此時的第五首配樂《secrets》是一首頗為陰森的樂曲，作為康莫德斯的主題預示了其角色特點和后來篡位的故事發展。

《角斗士》這一影片在剛剛開始的短短15分鐘內就接連奏出了5首各不相同經典配樂，顯示了作曲者強大的音樂功底，也讓觀眾徹底進入故事的情節之中。

另一端我認為值得一提的配樂出現在馬希莫斯從行刑隊手下逃出，日夜兼程趕回家鄉時。音樂中加入了另一種獨特的樂器——西班牙木吉他。這不但標志著來自西班牙的馬西莫斯離家越來越近，也是馬西莫斯家園的主題。音色干凈、清新的木吉他描寫出了馬西莫斯家鄉寧靜祥和的美好氛圍。但隨著皇帝派來的軍隊的到來，木吉他的聲音與另一股由交響樂隊演奏出的急促的音樂交織在一起，逐漸攀升至頂峰，馬西莫斯的馬在勞累致死才戛然而止。我認為，這象征著馬克希莫家鄉的美好和家庭的溫暖被軍隊和殺戮所打破、毀滅。

There is a provoking scene: “a piece of white and light feather is flying under the blue sky, and dropping down gradually to Forrest Gump’s feet who sit on the bench for bus.” Just like the feather is swaying with the wind, so is the human being’s life.Most of time, we are wondering everywhere without specific direction, goal and hope.What is more, we always look on life as tedious and even annoying.However, fate is mastered by our own, just like Forrest Gump devoted all his life to running for his own sky.“Each man is the architect of his own fate”, such is the remark made by one of the great figure.This remark has been confirmed by more and more people.Forrest t Gump is an outstanding example.As the film told us Forrest Gump, born with disable body, he is a good soccer athlete, an hero in Vietnam war , a captain own shrimp ship, a runner crossing the whole America.Asking yourself, who we are? Last week I had watched a cartoon movie through the English learning center.The name of this movie I had told you in the title, but you’ll never guess the story of it which has very big difference between what we watched and read when we were young.I can’t ensure weather it is one of prototypeof the Grimm's Fairy Tales, I’m sure it’s an interesting cartoon movie.I write the essay to introduce some interesting points about the movie, of course included certain sentiment from my heart.Do you remember the hateful timber wolfthat always tends to hurt the little Red and her grandmother?
