如何備考全日制翻譯碩士（MTI）考研

MTI, Master of Translation and Interpreting, 是為了適應市場經濟對應用型高層次專門人才的需求，國務院學位委員會于2007年1月批準設臵的翻譯碩士專業學位。MTI作為我國20個專業碩士之一，不僅面向英語專業的考研同學，同時也為其他各個專業的同學們提供了一個專業選擇的機會。

由于對這個新興專業缺乏了解，有的同學可能會進入這樣一個誤區，認為專業碩士就是在職研究生。但事實上，MTI的設立，是國家根據目前經濟發展的形勢，對碩士結構做出的相應調整。與傳統的學術型碩士相比，MTI更強調實用性，更注重同學們的筆譯和口譯的實踐能力，更能適應市場對翻譯專業人才的需求。其實國外的大學很早就出現了專業碩士，甚至是專業博士。因此，對那些想走上翻譯之路，又因擔心MTI含金量不夠的同學們，我想說，打消顧慮，積極準備吧！

此外，對于英語專業考研的同學們來說，報考MTI還有三個優勢：

其一，目前除了北京外國語大學以外，其他各設有MTI專業的大學考試都是不考二外的。有的同學英語水平不錯，可是由于學校開設二外課程較晚或基本功不扎實等原因，在考研中體現不出自己的優勢，甚至可能由于二外分數太低，與理想的院校失之交臂。

其二，除去二外的因素，MTI由于高度的專業性，也免去了令備考翻譯方向的同學們頭疼的文學、語言學等英語專業知識，可以留給同學們更多的時間進行翻譯專業的備考。

其三，與語言學文學等幾個英語專業相比，翻譯碩士在國內各個高校的設臵是較少的，特別是口譯方向的碩士，僅有幾個名校設立的翻譯學院。這樣就導致名額太少，競爭異常激烈，一些有志于攻讀翻譯碩士方向的同學就可能在這種激烈的競爭中與自己的理想擦肩而過了。

因此，綜合以上三點因素考慮，MTI的設立實際上是為同學們提供了一個實現自己的夢想的新的機會，同學們應該抓住這個契機。

下面我就具體分析一下MTI考試的幾個科目，以及該如何有針對性地復習備考。除去全國統考的政治外，備戰MTI的同學們還有三門專業課需要復習：150分的百科知識與中文寫作，100分的基礎英語，以及150分的翻譯基礎。

首先，我談一下百科知識與中文寫作。有許多同學“不敢”報考MTI，就是因為擔心百科知識涉及面太廣，備考起來不知該如何下手。的確，根據MTI大綱的要求，百科知識涉及到中外文化、文學、政治、宗教、經濟、法律、歷史、哲學等多個方面，看上去瑣碎又繁雜。但實際上，大家并不需要太擔心。因為50分的百科知識，多以選擇題和名詞解釋的形式出現。根據去年的考試情況來看，其難度并不太大。

我的建議是，大家不要一味地糾結于百科知識的“廣”，而應該“有針對性地”復習。所謂“針對性”就是要專門地復習幾門課，比如中國文化、文學、英國社會文化、英美文學，以及要特別提到的，還有的同學覺得自己學的是英語專業，因此很擔心自己在中文寫作這一部分發揮不好。但我覺得同學們對此不必太擔心。中文寫作包含兩個一個大作文和一個小作文，同學們要做好的就是要抓住中文寫作的規律，平時多練筆。尤其是小作文，即公文寫作，是有一定的形式和規律可循的，同學們不可輕視練習、修改、再聯系的實用性。

其次，我來談一下基礎英語。基礎英語分為三個部分，詞匯語法，閱讀和寫作，每個部分所占的分值還是蠻大的。

詞匯語法部分出題靈活，可以出現很多題型，比如最常見的選擇題形式，以及比較有難度的改錯題形式，難度起碼要達到專八的程度。因此，同學們從備考的開始階段起就要多背單詞，在此基礎上，大量地做單詞語法題和專八系列的改錯題，反復記憶，總結技巧。

至于閱讀部分，我認為四選一這種傳統選擇題的難度應該達到專八的水平，但也可能出現達到GRE水平的理解題，同學們不可掉以輕心。而對于一些非傳統的閱讀題型，比如paraphrase, answer questions等，考察的不僅是同學們的閱讀能力和理解能力，也在一定程度上反應了考生的表達能力，即（英語）作文水平。所以，我建議，同學們在平時做閱讀理解題的過程中，要有意識地強化自己的語言“輸出”功力，不可辭不達意。

英語寫作部分類似于專八作文的模式，但有的學校可能更突出時效性，會出一些與實事有關的作文題。我對于寫作的建議就是，多寫多練多積累，還有很重要的一點就是，要有老師的批改。有的同學寫了很多作文，但成績提不上去。就是因為他總按照自己的路子寫，寫了十篇作文就把自己的錯誤重復“強化”了十遍。因此，練習寫作，要在老師有效的指導下進行，不可一味地求數量而忽視每一篇的質量。

最后，我來談一下很重要的翻譯基礎這門課。翻譯基礎，也可以成為翻譯實務，是由兩部分組成的，即詞語翻譯和篇章翻譯。

詞語翻譯這一部分是因校而異的。比如北航MTI考試中這一部分涉及到的詞語翻譯大多是翻譯理論的詞語，而北外則更傾向于考時事政治經濟這類的詞語。因此，同學們在備考時，一定要好好研究自己目標院校的歷年試題，抓住每個學校考試的側重點，看詞語翻譯到底是跟中國文化有關還是跟政治經濟有關，這樣才能更有針對性地復習。

而對于篇章翻譯，我想說，沒有捷徑可走，不存在什么速成的辦法。在150分的翻譯基礎卷中，篇章翻譯起碼要占到100分，可能包括一到兩篇的漢譯英，以及一到兩篇的漢譯英。這樣來看，這一部分的量還是很大的，也就使我們不容易判斷翻譯的類型是散文類還是時文類的，或是經貿類的，還是外交類的。

因此，這就要求大家具備較高的翻譯素質。但翻譯素質的提高，并不是一天兩天的事，也不是聽某個老師講了翻譯理論就可以達到的，更多的還是依賴同學們自己大量反復的聯系，以及，同前面講到的寫作一樣，要依賴老師有效的指導和修改。有的同學認為翻譯有了答案就可以了。

但事實上，看沒有指導下的答案就只能讓你看到與好的翻譯的差距，并不能幫你找到縮小差距的方法，不能指出你的不足是什么。因此，對于缺少指導環境的考生，我推薦大家關注一下環球時代的定制輔導課程，以起到有效的輔助備考的目的。
