為了提高在安大略湖一座新橋的中央主跨節(jié)大梁，在去年年底進行了一個重大的起重作業(yè)。現(xiàn)位于馬達沃斯卡河流上的橋承載著東西行進的交通；現(xiàn)正在施工的這個項目將增加新的，分隔的西行車道至高速公路，使得現(xiàn)有的橋梁轉(zhuǎn)變?yōu)閮H承載東行的交通。

在安普頓爾的17號公路橋是一個長310米的三跨多變復(fù)合鋼板大梁的一種上部結(jié)構(gòu)，該上部結(jié)構(gòu)有一個130m長的主跨和兩個各自長90m的側(cè)跨。該梁中間橋墩深度范圍自2.9m至5.5m。該橋歸安大略湖交通部所有，新橋的總承包商是Thomas Cavanagh 建設(shè)公司，而Thomas Cavanagh 建設(shè)公司又將鋼建筑轉(zhuǎn)包給Montage D'acier 國際公司。橋梁墩臺的建造開始于2009年夏天，預(yù)期今年初夏可以完成。

兩邊的側(cè)跨和主跨中16.5米長的懸梁通常使用地面起重機和臨時支護塔架設(shè)。Infinity工程公司受雇做鋼架工來執(zhí)行主跨鋼梁的長97米中央部分的安裝工程。在河岸中央部分在駁船上以四個平行梁的單個元件來安裝，飄進位置然后用鉆桿將其吊進最后的位置。該方法由Scanada Lift提供，并且吊裝400噸的程序話費了大約8個小時。

由于大橋的設(shè)計與負彎矩下的鋼材重量僅僅在主跨接頭的位置，這個接頭與引入的負彎矩連接后，必須在無壓力的狀態(tài)下進行安裝。

為了實現(xiàn)這一目標(biāo)，兩個橋墩梁被提升了1.2米，兩端懸臂梁會在提升操作過程與中心跨度梁的末尾平行。但是通過使中間的每個橋墩閉合大約104毫米，橋的兩端在提升過程中將會閉合97m的缺口。

為了調(diào)整縱向梁偏差和中心部分的垂直升降, 工程師決定向東邊跨15米來提供足夠的間隙容納抬梁.為實現(xiàn)這一目標(biāo)，推動架連接到東橋臺,并且在底部凸緣的梁和在東方橋墩頂端的固定盤軸之間暫時安裝了Teflon 的滑動表面。通過簡單的馬蹄形板建立縱向和橫向固定的梁通向碼頭。這個馬蹄形板.迅速被釋放，以此促進縱向的在新位置重新夾鐵的升降運動。馬蹄形板在每一個橫梁處可隨時提供橫向穩(wěn)定性。

在滑動?xùn)|側(cè)跨度115毫米和再次轉(zhuǎn)動馬蹄形板后，大梁就會被垂直提升1.2米，以此為提升中央跨度作準(zhǔn)備。利用提升拉桿系統(tǒng)并且安裝膠接板在擁有10毫米目標(biāo)膠接間隔的所有大梁上來把大梁提升到他們的最終位置。實施縱向抬升單個大梁是實現(xiàn)保持大梁10毫米膠接間隔的必要條件。當(dāng)所有篩選操作完成后，大梁被連續(xù)的制作完成后，已經(jīng)限定在中東部橋墩的臨時的馬蹄形板被放松，并且大橋的所有底部被放回到穩(wěn)定的橋墩支座。這次操作產(chǎn)生了被設(shè)計在主跨膠接中必要負力距，由于大梁降低連貫大梁系統(tǒng)的轉(zhuǎn)動回到大梁支座在東部橋墩中央線的軸配板。

1.2米的長度計算是為了在所有橋墩都良好估算的情況下垂直抬升操作，因為懸臂大梁的尾部和中央跨度完全與提升位置平行，因此，允許膠接自由添加壓力。縱向滑動?xùn)|側(cè)跨度來改變裝配耐受度及垂直提升運動的能力，證明不需用求助于新膠板裝配實現(xiàn)合適可攜帶裝置的中央跨度分割，這種鋼架建設(shè)在2 天內(nèi)就可以完成。
