基礎英語之口語！（轉）會話策略

在會話的過程中，我們常常會碰到這樣一種情況：自己在表達的過程中往往由于不知道某個單詞而卡殼，導致交際不能正常進行下去。其實，會話的目的就是為了交際，只要把信息傳達清楚，讓會話順利進行下去就達到目的了。所以，當你在會話時碰到這種不知某個單詞或說不清的情況時，可以試著用下面的方法，肯定能讓會話繼續進行下去。

（一）釋義法 口語練習或日常交往過程中，經常出現不知道如何表達、找不到恰當詞的現象。遇到這種情況，可采用釋義的辦法進行表達。例如，你應邀參加一個英語晚會，晚會上你需要一個瓶塞鉆（corkscrew），而恰巧你又不知道英語中相對應的單詞，此時則可以采用釋義法對瓶塞鉆進行釋義：the thing you open bottles with or a device used for pulling corks out of bottles.這種方法可以清楚地表達自己所要的物品，克服交際障礙，避免出現尷尬局面，因此是一種行之有效的會話技巧。

（二）迂回法 迂回法是一種常見的口語會話技巧。當學習者對某個發音感到困難，不知道或想不起某個句型或單詞時，可借助迂回法來達到交際目的。例如，有人在與一位學英語的日本人交往時發現，他發[ai]這個音有困難，當他想說“He is a liar.(他是一個騙子。)”時，為了避開[ai]這個音，他選擇了句子“He didn't tell the truth.(他沒講實話。)” 迂回表達法使學習者在遇到困難和障礙時，能夠靈活應對，增強學習和運用英語的信心，極大地提高學習英語的興趣。

（三）發問法 發問法指的是，當你遇到交際障礙時，可以通過向交際對方提問來獲取你所要表達的意思。比如，中學課本中就有這么一則故事：一位法國學生到倫敦度假，他對英語了解甚少，有一天，他去參加科學博物館，中午他又累又餓，來到了一家餐館，他想要杯茶和幾個雞蛋，可是當服務員問他“Can I help you, sir?(先生，你要點什么？)”時，他回答說，“A cup of tea and …”他記不起“雞蛋”該怎么說，這時他看到鄰桌上有本雜志，封面是一幅公雞的圖畫，他指著這幅畫問侍者：

“What's the English for this?”

“What do you call a cock's wife?”這位學生又問。

“A hen, sir.” “And what do you call a hen's children?”

“Chicks, Sir.”

“And what do you call chicks before they're born?”

“Eggs, Sir.”

此時學生說：“Very well, bring me two eggs and a cup of tea, please.”

這個故事充分說明了提出問題在日常口語會話中的重要性。這位聰明的法國學生通過發問，一環接一環，環環緊扣，最終從對方口中得到了自己想表達的意思，從而完成了整個交際活動。

（四）替代法 當你不知道某一具體物品、生物、動物等的名稱時，可使用此種物品、生物或動物等的總稱或同義詞。例如，用a kind of dog代替hound（獵狗），用a kind of ship代替yacht（游艇），a kind of vegetable代替Chinese cabbage（大白菜）等。另外，替代法也可在口語會話中借助某些句型或詞組來完成，如： It has something in common with… It is(looks)similar to… It is(looks)like …等 借助這種方法，講話人可以彌補交際缺陷，避免可能會出現的尷尬局面。

（五）含蓄表達法 當與他人交談或探討某一問題時，應盡量避免使用一些絕對化的、以偏概全的詞句，如All politicians are corrupt.(所有政客都是腐敗墮落的)。誠然，在現實生活中不乏一些貪贓舞弊、腐敗墮落的政客，但是我們不能就此斷言，所有的政治家都是腐敗墮落的。因此，在遇到這種情況時，應使用一些非絕對化的詞語，如a few, some, many, a great many等等。在日常口語會話中，人們為了保全面子或避免爭執而經常使用一些含糊其辭的說法，如Maybe I am wrong, but…, Perhaps, Do you think…?

（六）描述法 在無法弄清對方談話中所指物品為何物時，可以提出問題，請求對方進行描述。比如，描述人時可提問下列問題： What sex? What's his/her age? What about his appearance? What's he/she wearing? What about his/her character? What about his/her height? 描述物時，則可提問下列問題： What does it look like? What color/shape/size is it? How long/tall is it? What is it used for?

七）重復法 在會話過程中，當你沒有聽清或聽不懂對方所講內容時，可以酌情請求對方重復。例如，可以說：I beg your pardon? Pardon? Sorry, I can't follow you.What was the last word? Would you like to repeat it?

（八）總結法 總結法即聽話人用一句或幾句話概括總結一下講話人所講內容，以確認自己是否完全理解對方的意圖。例如，可以用下列句式來總結： You mean…? So you are saying that…? If I've understood correctly… 運用這一技巧可使會話雙方得到進一步溝通，從而更好地實現雙方的交際意圖。

（九）借助非言語手段 語言是人類最重要的交際工具，除此之外，在交際過程中人們為了彌補語言交際的不足或不便，往往采用非言語手段--形體語言（body language）來達到交際目的。例如，在西方日常交往中，尤其是在求職面試時，一個人缺乏眼對眼交流（eye-to-eye contact），往往被認為信心不足或不誠實。因此，只有不斷地進行眼對眼交流，才能達到感情上的交融，達到交際目的。

在語言交際過程中，當講話人希望強化言語內容，并把自己的情感直接傳遞給聽話人時，往往自覺不自覺地使用形體語言。例如，講話人要表示成功或勝利時，通常高舉右手，食指和中指張開形成“V”（victory的縮寫）字形；表示好運時，中指與食指交叉；表示困惑時，攤手聳肩；而當講話人雙手放在膝蓋上，上身微微向前時，則表示隨時準備結束談話。由此可見，運用非言語手段所表現出來的微妙的情感遠比干巴巴的語言所賦予的內涵豐富。語言交際主要作用于聽覺，因而受到明顯的時空限制，而空間限制則更為明顯。當講話人與聽話人相隔很遠，無法用語言表述其意思時，可借助手勢語幫助理解講話人意圖。因此，從某種意義上講，形體語言可以代替語言行為，獨立完成信息傳遞任務。如，鼓掌表示歡迎、舉手為禮、揮手送別等。總之，學習者學習語言進行交際時，如不了解目的語國家常用的手勢語，即使他語言功底深厚，在交往時也很難準確地理解對方，把握對方所要表達的意思。

事實上，以上幾種會話技巧不僅在外語學習中，而且在使用母語進行交談過程中也廣泛運用，因為它們可以彌補語言知識的缺陷，從而跨越語言障礙，使會話得以延續。

見面說什么？

和人見面首先必須先打招呼，用什么樣的話開始呢？各國文化的不同造成了打招呼的話也不同。在國外，埃及人見面就說：你是怎么出汗的？海地人卻在問：你是怎么站的？對于這些問候對我們中國人可能會感到十分奇怪。同樣在中國，我們見面問：“你吃飯了嗎？”，“你到哪兒去？”，“你來干什么？”，都是再平常不過的話。而對于英語國家的人來說他們也會覺得很奇怪，甚至不了解中國文化的英美人會因你的問話產生不滿，因為連英國孩子都會認為這樣的問題是瞎管別人的私事，我吃不吃飯，我來干什么，有必要告訴你嗎？

所以我們必須學會native speakers 見面時是怎樣打招呼的。

他們見面時最常用的話是：

Hi！喂！

Hello！喂！

How are you ？你好。

How are you doing ？ 最近怎么樣？

初次見面可以說：

Glad to meet you here.很高興見到你。

我們常常會聽到對方說How do you do？

這時唯一正確的反應也是How do you do？

不要以為對方要問你什么，其實這只是一個問句式的問候語。如果你告訴對方哪兒痛哪兒不舒服就錯了，我們不少人喜歡說 I'm fine, thank you.這是不符合習慣的。另外提一句，我們初次見面分手時喜歡說 Good-bye.你如果仔細注意的話，會發現Native speakers說Nice meeting you 或Nice to have met you.在學校和公司早晨見面大家打招呼時說：

Good Morning!早晨好!

Morning!早晨好!

如果你們以前曾經見過面，再次相見可以說：

Good to see you again.很高興再次見到你。

跟老朋友好久不見了，在路上偶遇可以說：

What a surprise!真巧！

在美國Long time no see.也是很流行的，據說這是中國留學生帶到美國去的Chin-English,不過現在老美也這么說。如果你見到一個非常面熟的人又不敢確認那就不妨這樣來說：

Aren't you Peter Green? 你是彼得?格林先生吧？

Excuse me, haven't we met somewhere before? 對不起，我們在哪兒見過面嗎?

倫敦曾有霧都的稱號，聽起來浪漫，實則是工業革命的后遺癥，有霧的天氣給人們的生活帶來不便，所以天氣很使人們煩惱，這也就養成了英國人以天氣扯開話題的習慣，在中國人看來以這樣的話題開頭顯得沒話找話說，但和英美人聊天時以這樣的話開頭卻是萬無一失的。

Cold weather , isn't it? 天氣很冷,是吧?

May I introduce myself first, I'm Forest Gump.我先自我介紹一下，我叫阿甘。

有時我們需要把自己的朋友介紹給別人認識，在一些重要的商務或會議的場合，你也許還有機會把你們的首席領導和會議主持人介紹給參加會議的所有人：

This is John Brown.這是約翰?布朗先生。

Let me introduce the President of the Computer Dept., Mr.John Brown.讓我來介紹一下計算機系的系主任約翰?布朗先生。

有時你會向另外一個人詢問其它人的情況：

Do you know John Brown?

如果你覺得某個人特別值得交往就會說：

I'd like you to meet John Brown.我希望你認識約翰?布朗先生。

After you！

如果你是一位先生，那么你一定要學會必恭必敬地說這句“After you！”如果你是一位小姐，那么你聽到這句“After you！”心里一定也是甜滋滋的。

“After you!”是一句形式上很簡單的禮貌用語，相當于漢語的“您（你）先請！”。

既然學了就要盡量去用。那么什么情況你能用到這句話呢？比如：你大清早去上班，在公司門口，正巧碰到了general manager（總經理），“Good morning！”同時出于禮貌，你可能就要先走過去開門，這時你就可以說：“After you！”

再如，你陪同公司的client(客戶)去一家five-star hotel（五星級酒店）吃飯，服務員為你們開了門，這時你就可以禮貌地對客戶說：“After you！”

如果你是個學生，你也一樣有機會說這句話。比如，哪天你上課馬上就要遲到了，你正疾步走入教室，結果差點和要進門的老師撞上，你緊急剎住步伐，站穩后恭敬地對老師說：“After you！”那么也許老師一高興，就不會責怪你遲到了。

英語中像這樣的簡單口語還有很多，像Lady first！You(go)first！這些都是非常口語化的用法。其實英語尤其是American English，用起來都是非常隨便的，以后我們將多多介紹這些很口語化的東西。讓你可以信手拈來，隨學隨用。

“Are you kidding?”“

“Are you joking?”這是口語中很熟的人間經常說的話。意思是“你在開玩笑吧？”

上個月你的一個哥們兒還和你抱怨，說他找不到自己心儀的女孩子。可是今天他卻對你說：

“I'm going to marry next month.”

“Are you kidding？”（你驚訝地說。）

“No kidding！I'm serious.”（一臉詭秘）

經過一番調查，才知道，原來真的是“Fall in love at the first sight.”（一見鐘情）。

于是你就高興地對他說：

“Congratulations！”（恭喜恭喜！）

異想不到的事真是多！你的一個膽小且從來沒離開過家的朋友有一天突然對你說：

“I'm going to Tibet！”

你瞠目結舌了半天，終于從嘴里蹦出來幾個單詞

“Are you kidding？”

“Tibet！！My god！”

世界上的事真是無奇不有，那么現在你既然學會了這句“Are you kidding？”，同時又會了“Are you joking？”、“My god！”這樣表示驚訝的口語短句，那么以后對付“big surprise”，你一定就會從容不迫了。

No way！

你想讓自己cool（酷）一點嗎？那么我來教你一句話，保證讓你酷斃了！那就是毫不留情拒絕別人的一句“No way！”（免談！沒門兒！）夠無情吧。不過用的時候可要看看場合呀！

那什么時候你可以用這句“No way！”呢？如果你是個鐵面無私的“清官”的話，哈哈，你可是有很多機會用這句話了。當有人試圖賄賂（bribe）你的時候，你就可以斬釘截鐵地對他們說：“No way！” 你的好朋友想哄你說出只有你一個人知道的小秘密，你不想輕易就告訴他，賣賣關子：“No way！Unless...”（免談！除非??）沒準兒還可以趁機敲詐他一把呢！

如果你有個天生愛偷懶的小妹，整天纏著你幫她做這做那的。今天她又要讓你幫她做作業，你可以說：“No way！You should do it yourself.”（這次免談！家庭作業一定要自己做！）

上面這幾種場合用這句“No way！”倒是滿恰當的，但這句話可不能亂用呀！用不好會傷了和氣的。因為這是一句比較生硬拒絕別人的話。那么委婉拒絕怎么說呢？“I'm afraid I can't.”、“I'm afraid...not...”（恐怕不行。）是不是婉轉多了？所以可見英語口語中還是有很多

That's Great！

你想讓自己更像一個native speaker嗎？告訴你一個小秘密：其實native speaker講英語時都不會去考慮grammar（語法），說出來都是極其口語化的句子，而且句子都比較短。其實你平時多觀察觀察身邊的老外，就會發現這一點。

你看，當他們表示滿意、贊成的時候，就會瞪大了眼睛，很夸張地對你說：“Oh, that's great！”這句“That's great！”是口語中最常用到的一句話，意思是“太棒了！棒極了！”。

英語口語中像這樣表達情緒短句非常之多，再如：“Excellent！”、“Wonderful！”、“So cool！”（也就是我們常說的某某人真“酷”的酷）等等。

那么這句“That's great！”在你高興的時候，就可以脫口而出了。比如，經過一翻苦戰，公司首戰告捷。經理宣布放假一周，集體去海邊度假，你聽了這個消息脫口而出：“That's great！”

你的一個好哥們兒暗戀已久的女孩終于答應和他一起出去了，當他興奮地告訴你這個消息時，你很替他高興，拍著他的肩膀說：“That's great！”、“Congratulations！”

到今天為止你已經學了好幾個好玩且有用的常用語了，感覺怎么樣？希望你的回答是今天學的這句：“That's great！”

What a pity！

人生總是充滿了遺憾，想起了傷心遺憾的往事，或是面對眼前可望而不可及的事情，是否想感慨一下，排解心中的郁悶呢？

那么今天這句話就可以恰當地表達你的感覺了：

最掃興的事，你也可以用到這句話。比如，眾人籌備已久的露天燒烤晚會就要拉開序幕了，這時只見天空突然烏云翻滾，狂風大作，你只能望著不做美的老天爺，想著美味的燒烤，無不遺憾地說句：

往事不堪回首，人生不能總是一帆風順的。所以失望之時要學會排解心中的遺憾，到時就用到這句What a pity！了！

I'm sick

隆冬時節，外面正是凜冽寒風，看著窗外飄著的雪花，真是不想出門。這樣的天氣，人們最容易生病了。不過當你真的渾身發熱、喉嚨腫痛的時候，你就不得不說上一句：“I'm sick.”、“I'm ill.”(我生病了。)或者“I've got a cold.”(我感冒了。)但多數情況你都是因為flu(流感)而生病的，所以這個流行的“have the flu”你也要記住啊！

不過你只說“I'm sick.”可沒人知道你哪里不舒服呀！所以如果要go to see a doctor(去看病)，還要說清到底你是哪兒難受。比如：I've got(had)a headache.(我頭疼。)I have a sore throat.(我喉嚨疼。)I have a(high)fever.(我發高燒了。)如果醫生問你有什么癥狀，你就可以告訴他“My nose is running.”(我流鼻涕。)“And I sneeze.'Ah-tishoo!'”(我還打噴嚏，阿--嚏！)這些都是感冒的癥狀。

但如果你說：“I've had toothache all day.”(我的牙疼了一整天。)或者你說“I have had stomachache.”(我胃疼、肚子疼。)那么醫生就不會給你開感冒藥了。所以你只有說清楚了，醫生才能對癥下藥呀！

It's up to you！

It's up to you！“由你決定！”這可是句很受聽的話呀！把決定權交給別人，無論你對誰說，都是很給對方面子的。

比如你的General Manager(總經理)現在很信任你，今天他把一項很重要的工作交給了你。當你詢問他細節怎么辦時，他很信任地拍拍你的肩膀說：“It's up to you！”那可要恭喜你啦！你得到了General Manager的信任了！

還有，如果你陪某位小姐去選首飾，她左選右選還是拿不定主意，但你卻早已不耐煩了。可她還是不停地問你：“Which one shall I take？”(我到底要哪一個呀？)于是你一聳肩，對她說了句：“It's up to you！” 你倒是解脫了！

但對于重要的事情，最終決定還要你自己去做。The final choice is up to you！如果你(女孩子)面對眾多優秀的求婚者，不知該嫁給誰，那可要慎重考慮，不能輕易一句“It's up to you！”就把自己給出賣了！所以語言也是分場合的嘛！

這句“It's up to you！”還有一句相同意思的“at your disposal”(由你決定吧)也要想好了再說呀！
