網友披露，作文抄襲的是作家李漢榮的長篇散文《購物記》中的一節（刊登于《散文》月刊2010年第一期）。記者仔細閱讀兩篇文章后發現，兩篇文章均以巴西亞馬遜紅木地板為由，闡述人與自然的關系。作文中的第一句為“足不出戶，我已到達巴西。”這和作家原文完全相同。緊接著，“經過技術的切割，經過資本的流通”“滾滾流淌的亞馬遜的河水，化為滾滾的利潤”等不長的詞句也能在原文中找到“原形”。此外，“有那么幾次，我彎下腰，趴在地板上，細細地、細細地凝望，注視著它。隔著刷了油漆、打了蠟的光亮表層，撫摸著它經歷了千年的紋路與年輪。”和“有好幾次，我莫名其妙蹲下來，匍匐在地板上，仔細辨認和端詳，在涂了漆打了蠟的木板上，撫摸那清晰的年輪和木紋。”等長句也有相似之處。記者發現，相似或基本雷同的句子有好幾句。
