市場營銷一詞有英文‘MAKETING’而來,上世紀初源于美國,他體現(xiàn)著一種全新的現(xiàn)代經(jīng)營思想,其核心是以消費者需求為導向,消費者或客戶需求什么就生產(chǎn)銷售什么。這是一種有外向內(nèi)的思維方式,與傳統(tǒng)的那種以現(xiàn)在產(chǎn)品吸引、尋找顧客的由內(nèi)向外的思維方式恰恰相反。
在某種意義上講,談?wù)撌袌鰻I銷應該為公司做些什么,就是在談?wù)摴驹摮钟惺裁礃拥淖罱K目標和戰(zhàn)略目的。世界超一流學府-哈佛商學院的MBA課程把市場營銷部門比做公司這艘航船的指示燈,它應該在機會到來時指示公司這艘航船順風遠航;在毀滅性災難到來時指示它駛?cè)氡亠L港灣,并在航行時隨時順著風向不斷調(diào)整航向,以求獲得最大航行速度。
從公司角度講,市場營銷的職能就是保證客戶和消費者成為企業(yè)的中心環(huán)節(jié)。
其另一職能便是指導企業(yè)決策。
圍繞市場營銷的一個永恒的困惑就是:它總是不遺余力的強調(diào)公司戰(zhàn)略方向的重要性,而實際上并沒有那么大權(quán)利,所以實際情況中市場營銷部門總是處于和公司其他部門的爭吵中,力圖證明自己有獨特東西貢獻給公司。那么這種東西到底是什么呢?從實踐角度看,我們可以這樣說:市場營銷確保公司的競爭優(yōu)勢,并使公司永遠立于不敗之地。
企業(yè)的決策正確與否是成敗的關(guān)鍵。企業(yè)要謀得生存和發(fā)展,很重要的是做好經(jīng)營決策。企業(yè)通過市場營銷活動分析外部環(huán)境的現(xiàn)狀和發(fā)展趨勢,結(jié)合自身的資源條件,指導企業(yè)在產(chǎn)品定價、分銷、促銷和服務(wù)等方面做出相應的科學的決策。
綜上所述,市場營銷對公司的貢獻應在于:
1、確定客戶和消費者的需求。
2、為本公司的產(chǎn)品和服務(wù)確立不同于競爭者的獨特的市場定位。
3、持續(xù)不懈的推廣本公司產(chǎn)品,使廣大客戶和消費者不但知道本公司的產(chǎn)品和服務(wù)的存在,還知道它的特點。
4、確保本公司銷售渠道暢通無阻。
總之,從微觀角度來看,市場營銷是連結(jié)社會需求與企業(yè)反應的中間環(huán)節(jié),是企業(yè)用來把消費者需求和市場機會變成有利可圖的公司機會的一種省止有效的方法,也是企業(yè)戰(zhàn)勝競爭對手的重要方法
真正意義上的營銷,即市場營銷(Marketing)。這個崗位又分成兩種類型,一種叫前端營銷(Filed Marketing),一種叫后端營銷(Factory Marketing),兩者的角色和定位都不同,所需要的素質(zhì)和能力也不同。前端營銷是在以銷售和服務(wù)為核心的銷售公司里,負責市場的開拓和推廣,激發(fā)客戶的需求,他們并不管產(chǎn)品是怎么制造出來的,只管把產(chǎn)品推廣出去。當然,好的前端市場營銷人員會及時將客戶的需求反饋到后端營銷中去,以幫助后端營銷了解各個目標市場的動態(tài)和客戶需求。而后端營銷,是在以研發(fā)制造為核心的分部
里,負責對產(chǎn)品進行定義和研發(fā)的前期市場調(diào)查,即了解市場,了解競爭,了解目標客戶,并根據(jù)市場、用戶和競爭狀況去完成新產(chǎn)品定義—一本完整描述產(chǎn)品特定的文件。沒有這個產(chǎn)品定義,任何產(chǎn)品概念都不會進入研發(fā)階段。”“換句話說,前端營銷是幫助‘作戰(zhàn)部隊’的,后端營銷是幫助‘兵工廠’的,前端和后端加起來才能形成一個完整的市場營銷概念。”
理解了前端營銷和后端營銷的概念,就很容易解釋兩種不同的市場營銷高官需要具備什么樣的素質(zhì)和能力。先看一下對前端市場總監(jiān)有什么樣的特殊要求。作為前端市場營銷高管,其工作目標是協(xié)助銷售團隊完成銷售任務(wù),所以這一角色必須要有很強的服務(wù)意識,甘當配角。另外一個人物就是開發(fā)新市場,為銷售部打前站,這樣銷售隊伍完成了對一個地區(qū)、一個市場的收割之后,可以有新的地區(qū)、新的市場去經(jīng)營。最后一個任務(wù)就是把我好市場動態(tài),搜集市場用戶、競爭等方面的有關(guān)信息,并總結(jié)出規(guī)律性的東西,為公司制定戰(zhàn)略提供數(shù)據(jù)支持。
后端市場營銷總監(jiān)是一個企業(yè)能否以市場為導向的關(guān)鍵所在,因此后端市場營銷總監(jiān)擔負著為前端源源不斷提供好產(chǎn)品的艱巨任務(wù)。這里涉及兩項工作:一是完成新產(chǎn)品定義,為研發(fā)人員開發(fā)產(chǎn)品奠定基礎(chǔ);二是對現(xiàn)有產(chǎn)品生命周期進行管理,什么產(chǎn)品何時上線,什么產(chǎn)品何時下線,產(chǎn)品如何定價,產(chǎn)品如何完善或改進,都是后端市場營銷總監(jiān)所關(guān)心的問題。
這是對市場營銷的又一種解構(gòu)方式。也是一種比較簡單的解釋方式,一個后臺支持系統(tǒng),一個前端沖鋒陷陣;一個確保彈藥精良,一個確保命中目標。這是以另一種簡單的方式解釋了營銷以及企業(yè)怎樣做營銷,但的確并不適合大部分本土企業(yè),而且,也需要相應專業(yè)人才支撐,這應該是一個大體系下的營銷體系。前者相當于銷售管理,后者相當于產(chǎn)品管理經(jīng)理,但是忽略了品牌建設(shè)的職能和推動作用,也可能這是緣于惠普把市場營銷與品牌建設(shè)分開部門負責的原因吧。我一直認為,一個完善的市場營銷應該就是為建設(shè)品牌而服務(wù)的。
再來看看對所有營銷變革和指揮系統(tǒng)——營銷高管的職位和具體工作能力的描述。
從獵頭公司的角度來說,我們通常將營銷分成兩個不同的領(lǐng)域,一個是銷售,一個是市場。營銷綜合了這兩個方面的能力。作為一個銷售人員,比較重要的素質(zhì),應該是他需要有較高的忍耐力、克服困難的能力和進取心,以及在工作中解決問題的能力。此外還有一個重要的方面就是承受壓力的能力,因為銷售需要承受很大的壓力。而我們將的做市場,涉及的素質(zhì)包括對數(shù)字的敏感性、分析問題的能力,以及個人的創(chuàng)造性。
營銷高管必須具備的技能與經(jīng)驗——首先是領(lǐng)導能力,包括計劃能力、監(jiān)督執(zhí)行能力、整合資源能力、制度建設(shè)和文化建設(shè)能力。作為一個團隊的領(lǐng)導者,必須能夠為整個團隊制訂工作計劃,并按照工作計劃去監(jiān)督執(zhí)行,在實施計劃的過程中及時解決各種問題,整合內(nèi)部和外部資源,協(xié)調(diào)與其它職能部門的關(guān)系,完成本部門的目標任務(wù)。作為高管人員,還肩負著制度建設(shè)和文化建設(shè)的重任,要形成良好的工作氛圍;靠制度而不是靠權(quán)威,靠能力而不是靠關(guān)系管理部下。其次是溝通能力,包括演講能力,表達能力、交談能力和寫作能力。作為一名營銷高管,每天都需要花費大量時間與部下溝通,與上司溝通,與同事溝通。作為公司戰(zhàn)略設(shè)計的主導者,需要不斷說服他人,希望大家能夠達成共識,從而提高企業(yè)的組織智商。再次是教練能力,包括輔導部下的能力,激勵部下的能力、授權(quán)與監(jiān)督能力、團隊建設(shè)的能力。作為一名高級管理人員,部下大多是中層管理人員。如何有效地激勵中層管理人員既要發(fā)揮主觀能動性,又要按照公司的規(guī)章制度辦事,是高級管理人員的核心任務(wù)之一
