九、句子結構的錯誤
在英語中按句型來說可以分為陳述句、疑問句、祈使句和感嘆句四種,從結構上來說又可以分為簡單句、并列句和復合句三種。句子的結構錯誤是構成句子完整結構的某一成分用錯或者缺少,或者使用了多于成分而造成句意不清的錯誤類型。由于英語語法和漢語語法特點在結構上表現得十分明顯,主、謂、賓結構在數、格、人稱上的一致、連接手段的正確使用以及詞序安排等,都與漢語有著相當大的差異,因此在改錯中也是一大難點。句子結構錯誤類型包括:句子類型使用錯誤、句子成分短缺、平行結構錯誤以及詞組搭配使用錯誤。
例 1 Computer analyzed marketing reports can help deciding which products to emphasize now, which to develop for the future, and which to be dropped.1.__________
本句中三個平行成分 which products to emphasize now, which to develop for the future, and which to be dropped 結構模式應該一致,均采用不定式主動語態,因而 to be dropped 應改為 to drop。
例 2 When we consider the comfortable circumstances of a working family today, the life of the workingman in 1882 seems miserable indeed.But earlier it had been ever hard.1.__________
根據上文中“ earlier ”可知,原句顯然是將 1882 年以前的生活與 1882 年時的生活作比較,所以此處 hard 應該改為 harder。
例 3 At the beginning of the nineteenth century working hours were from sunrise to sunset, pay was awful, and working conditions being poor and dangerous.1.__________
在該句中,working hours were from sunrise to sunset, pay was awful, and working conditions being poor and dangerous 三個小分句為并列結構關系,因此必須保持成分和結構上的一致性,故應該將 being 改為 were。

1.preparing→prepare。屬于平行結構中的動詞錯誤。在并列連詞and前后顯然要有形式一致的動詞,但前面沒有與preparing呼應的現在分詞(注:同行中的living是in which中which的先行詞,故一定是名詞,而不是現在分詞——這是詞形表面上的干擾),故只能改動preparing使之與前面的動詞不定式expect一致,這里也有考生將preparing改為prepares,用意是與句中謂語動詞allows一致,但要注意,句中不定式expect是及物動詞,它的賓語是“the real world”,必須與prepare for共享。
2.so后面加is。該句是一個并列句,第一個分詞結構是完整的,主語由動名詞“going to school”擔當,第二個分詞表語部分與前面相同。為避免重復,而使用代詞so,但是謂語不能省略,必須加上is才是完整的結構。
3.but→and。
4.when→than。“no sooner?than?”和“hardly?when?”是固頂結構,相互之間不能交換使用。
5.that→what。該句結構比較復雜,前面整個句子作為主語,但是that不能作為主語從句的主語成分,因此改成what。

7.刪去if。該句中的if是誤用,even if后面接從句,而該句后面只有their bodies,是半句話,意思為“即使他們的身體”,不符合語法邏輯規則,故應該把if刪除,即even their bodies,意為“就連他們的身體”這樣才可以與前邊的短語構成符合主語表示他們的生活方式和身體狀態都得以發生巨變。
8.harmful→harmless。從上文的承接和語義關系看,該段所表達的意思是:科學是無害的,但是一但它能提供技術的時候,那就不一定無害了。因此應該使用harmless。
9.when→after。when表示“當??時”,after表示“??之后”。本句中ten thousand years ago指距今一萬多年前,是在長期的原始狩獵時期之后,故應把when改為介詞after。
10.planet→planets。從邏輯上來講,人類探索其他星體,不止一個兩個,除了移民約球外,興許還有水星木星等,故應將other后的可數名詞變成復數形式,而the other后的可數名詞則不為復數形式。
1.among→between。among指兩個以上的人或物體之間的關系,between則專指兩個人或者物體之間的關系,而文中指兩者關系的摩擦,故應該使用between。
2.with→as。“as the result of ? ”意為“作為??的結果”,在劇中表明“傳統小家庭是社會壓力從封建社會向工業社會過渡的過程中形成的”。“with the result of ? ”無此用法。
3.that→of。“because that”后面必須接從句,而文中后面所接為名詞短語,因此應該使用“because of”,它同樣表示原因,但時候卻直接接名詞短語。
4.by→on。“played by”表示“由??表演或演奏”,文中所表達意思是在樂器上演奏,故此時應該使用介詞on。

7.to→over。表示“對??優勢”使用短語“advantage over sth.”的形式。
8.刪去of。“despite”有兩種用法:一種是后面直接接名詞作為賓語,另外一種是接從句,結構為“despite that?”。根據文中情況,應該為第一種,故將of刪掉。
9.刪去of。“aware”與“despite”相似,也有兩種用法,既可以在后面加介詞of,然后接名詞作賓語,也可以直接接從句。文中情況為第二種,故將of刪去。
10.are后面加of。介詞of后面接名詞或者名詞短語是一種特定用法,表示前面事物的性質特點和意義。原文意為:我們都認為他很適合這個職位。若不加介詞,則原文語句不通。
1.it→they。句中“it”所指代的是前面的“other races”,故必須對應用復數形式they。
2.he→you。這里必須特別注意,在這種祈使句中,一般使用第二人稱代詞you。

第四篇:GMAT考試改錯題(模版)
對一許多GMAT考生來說,GMAT改錯題都是一個讓人頭疼的問題。按理來說,改錯題考的是GMAT語法,而中國學生向來是不怵語法的,但為什么到GMAT這兒就不是了呢?究其原因,一是因為GMAT除了考語法知識外,更強調表達的有效性和簡潔性。
360教育集團說ETS經常對同一句愿用兩到三個語法 上正確但表達上有差異的選項來干擾你。而更讓人難以忍受的是,GMAT考題并不完全遵循我們通常所學的、甚至一些專業語法書上明確規定的規則,而有
舉例來說,我們在中學曾學過“which可指代前面整個句子”的語法現象,如She worked he re for several years, which contributed to her later success.此句which即指代前面整個句子,許多語法書上也提到過一點,但GMAT卻并不買帳,堅持認為這句話是錯的。又如,我們在中學時學過that引導賓語從句時,that是可以省略的,但GMAT卻說,那怎么行呢 ?這是不允許的。如果你由此而對前學過的語法產生懷疑,而求助于更厚、更全、更權威的 語法書的話,你會發現你的懷疑是毫不道理的。如果你要考GMAT,那沒有辦法,你只有好好熟悉GMAT
具體說來,GMAT
1.(1)which(或代詞it)絕對不可指代前面的整個句子;
(2)because不可引導名詞性從句;
(3)賓語從句中引導詞that一般不能省略;
(4)if絕不可以引導名詞性從句,如要表示“是否”,只能用whether引導;
(5)對不作為介詞賓語的事物作限定性修飾,只用that而不用which。而which僅用于引導對 介賓進
2.在require、demand等表“建議、命令”意義的詞之后的that從句,要求用虛擬語氣動詞,即動詞原形,不加should
3.絕對不可以單獨使用that指代前面的單數或不可數名詞,而一般是用that of+n.結構指代 或換用
4.絕不可以單獨使用this、these來指代前面出現的單數或復數名詞,而絕對要通過換用其 他人稱代詞,或重復前面出現的名詞或者改變句子結構來避免這樣非正式且模糊的指代。如 sth.of this kind, like this /these等模糊表達均要用such+n.(n.即重復this、these所 指代的對象)來取代,意為“這些??”。另外,在“such??that”結構中,such只修飾 具體名詞,而不修飾抽象名詞(如 rapidity、severity等)

(1)there could be done sth.;
(2)there be sth.done;
(3)there being+
(4)there was sth.(抽象的表動作的名詞),如說there was a transmisscion萬萬不可。呈般來說,GMAT中there be 僅用于“某處有某物”,而此物是指一具體名詞,如knife,star,wolf等,而非抽象名詞conversion, relation

11.介詞短語:on account of, because of, despite(in spite of), as a result of之后只跟簡單的各詞短語。若其后跟的是動名詞或名詞所有格+動名詞短語,或名詞短語之后用一復雜的現在分詞來修飾時,應改為與其相同意義的連詞because, although等引導的從
12.(1)n.that is(are)adj.必然要換為ad.+n.的名詞短語結構,如a man who is poor的選項必錯,而應選含有a poor man
(2)當表示謂語部分,尤其是表示實義動詞的含義時,就直接用其動詞形式表示,而不要用名詞形式或形容詞形式,如:be a cause就一定會被cause(動詞)替代;be suggestive of 一定會被 suggest替代。
(3)一些常見詞的替換方式:not any 一定會被no替代;that which一定會被what替代;hav ing been done會被 done(限定詞)
13.平行結構的最后一個成立之前必定有一個連詞 and, or, neither, nor或as well as, 否則嘴并列結構必存在問題。如:to do A.do B, do 的表達就必死無疑,正確表達應該是 to do A, do B, and do C 或 to do A, to do B, and to do C。;
14.在平行結構中,對于“不是??而是”的結構,ETS更喜歡用rather than,而很少用inst ead of。實踐中,若5個選項中存在這兩個詞的互換,直接在含rather than的選項中找答案,除非含rather than的結構有語法或邏輯錯誤,才可考慮 instead of
15.若在題中的劃線部分(即A選項)中發現情態動詞,那么在最后的正確答案中必須有些情態動詞或類似語氣的詞出現。實踐中,此原則可轉化為:不含此情態動詞或類似語氣詞的選項均為錯誤選項,立即排除
對于GMAT的“家規”,也不必過于擔心,熟悉之后,在實踐中逐步鞏固即可。對于GMAT“家 規”您可放心的是,GMAT“家規”訓練出來的表達完全適用于其他語法書的“國法”,反之則不然,或者說,GMAT的語法更苛刻些。不管如何苛刻,想考GMAT的話,您就必須得遵守,否則您就等著“家法侍侯”吧!
