閱讀理解除了要求正確理解事實細節的能力外，還經常需要考生根據一定上下文對某些詞匯的意義進行推斷、根據所讀材料理解文章隱含的意義和深層次的含義、歸 納文章主題思想、通過概括得出結論、綜合判斷作者態度等，這就要求考生具備相應的閱讀理解微技能，與四級考試密切相關的一些微技能包括詞匯的理解、預測、判斷、歸納和推理。詞匯的理解

對 于閱讀中碰到的生僻詞，我們首先要學會識別哪些情況下即使不了解詞義也不影響對短文的理解；其次是轉變對生僻詞義認識上的態度，即在許多情況下不必了解該 詞的確切意義，尤其沒有必要了解它在英漢辭典中的中文釋義，而只需對該詞詞義的大概而籠統的理解就行。實踐中，在確定了短文中哪些生僻詞的詞義有必要作一 大概了解后，我們可以從以下兩個角度來猜度詞義：(1)構詞知識

即利用單詞的構詞要素詞根，前后綴來識記單詞。詞根是一個單詞的根本部分，代表詞的基本意義；前綴是加在詞根或單詞前面的部分，通常也有一定含義；后綴是加在詞根或單詞后面的部分，通常在增加詞義的同時還改變詞性。通過詞根詞綴構詞的方式有多種，現簡單歸納如下： ①前綴+詞根：inter(中間)+vene→intervene(介入)②詞根+后綴：circl(圓)+let(小)→circlet(小環)③詞根+詞根：tele(遠)+scope(鏡)→telescope(望遠鏡)④前綴+詞根+后綴：in(不)+aud(聽)+ible(可)→inaudible(聽不見)⑤雙前綴+詞根：re(再)+dis(取下)+cover(蓋)→rediscover(再發現)⑥詞根+雙后綴：care(用心)+less(不)+ly(地)→carelessly(不小心地)⑦前綴+雙詞根：tri(三)+gono(角)+metry(測量)→trigonometry(三角幾何)⑧雙詞根+后綴：biblio(書)+phil(愛)+ist(人)→bibliophilist(書籍愛好者)⑨雙前綴+詞根+后綴：ir(不)+re(反對)+sist(站)+ible→irresistible(不可抵抗的)前綴+詞根+雙后綴：se(離)+greg(群)+ation+ist→segregationist(種族隔離主義者)雙前綴+詞根+雙后綴：un(不)+pre(先)+ced(走)+ent+ed→unprecedented(史無前例的)(2)上下文線索

利用上下文線索猜測詞義的方法很多，但其核心是尋找與該生僻詞相關的上下文意義線索，這些線索主要可歸納為以下幾種：

① 同義定義為了便于讀者理解作者本義，作者有時會對文中的生僻詞或專業性較強的詞直接給出定義。在下定義時，作者常使用一些信號詞，如：is/are(called)，means，can be defined as，refer to，is/are known as，signify等，例： Food fallacies refer to beliefs about food that are not true.或標點符號，如——，()等，例：

英語四級沖刺：五招助你成功抱佛腳

第一招，看聽力。四級聽力的小對話，展示了一個個很實用的場景，用語很地道，如果考生能把歷年來四級考題中的小對話全部跟讀、模仿、背誦下來，那么你的口語一定會很溜。如果考生的中學基礎還不是很牢固，考生還可以用它來進一步學習基本詞匯、基本語法。此外，在聽力部分，無論是小對話還是段子，都有少許生詞，而這些詞匯，如果考生能做到一聽就懂，放在閱讀中自然是一看就會，這些詞匯將成為考生詞匯大軍中的“嫡系部隊”，聽、說、讀、寫、譯，均可隨時調遣，再以這些詞為基本詞匯，通過詞根、詞綴、同義、反義、形近、音似等多種方法，大幅度擴大詞匯量。由此可見，招人不待見的四級聽力，其實“渾身上下都是寶”。并且，聽力題的文字答案是四級考試中最簡單的一部分，以它為突破口，先看著它，認認真真把每一個單詞都搞明白，每一個句子都弄懂，再多讀幾遍，然后一句一句地聽寫，找出自己聽不懂的地方和下筆寫時拿不準的單詞，多查字典，多問老師，再跟著錄音多讀，直至背過。這樣，兩套題下來，聽力將會有質的飛躍，詞匯量也會猛增數百。并且，多背誦句子、短文，對作文也大有裨益。

第二招，聽寫聽力。此時，就不要先看文字答案了，要直接一句一句的聽寫，聽不懂、寫不出的地方，多聽幾遍，再根據音標查一查辭典，還可以看一看選擇項，找一點線索。實在寫不出來，就先放它一馬，但要留出位置，做出標記。一套題聽寫完了，再對一下答案，最好用另一種顏色的筆，標出寫錯的和沒有寫出來的部分。再分析一下沒有聽寫出來或聽寫錯誤的原因，是連讀、弱讀、失音、混同還是由于英音與美音的差別，然后跟讀、背誦。聽寫記錄一定不能扔了，它不僅銘刻著考生征戰四級途中的每一個腳印，并且是考生以后復習的好材料。如此再認真學上十套題，聽力中的18分可收入賬下。

第三招，造作文。找到四級每一套考題后面所附的范文，在把文章結構弄懂、每一個詞、每一句話都搞明白的基礎上，一定要背熟。它可以進一步鞏固基本語法、擴大詞匯量。十幾篇下來，自己再操練一下，盡可能地運用自己已經背的很熟的詞匯和句子，然后檢查一下錯誤。練上幾篇，一定會在考試時思如泉涌，十來分鐘后，一篇佳作躍然紙上。過完以上兩招，聽力與作文即可穩拿30分，四級及格已勝利在望。

第四招，摳閱讀。不要求快，要知道，要想做到一目十行，必先十目一行。閱讀也要像聽力一樣，一句一句的摳，每一個詞都要弄懂，甚至要把印刷錯誤也揪出來，然后熟讀，能背過若干篇更好。在此過程中，可以大幅度提高詞匯量，并且，由于所背的單詞有具體的語境，印象也深。此外，還可以練就一身較高的語法功力。閱讀中的句子，盡管較長，但仔細分析一下，不外乎比中學英語課文多了幾個從句、幾個非謂語動詞、幾個介詞詞組而已。這樣認認真真摳上50篇四級閱讀文章，閱讀拿下30多分，不在話下。此外，詞匯也會上漲一千有余。

第五招，濾單選。先做上一遍，找出做錯的和拿不準的，一個題一個題的弄懂，一句一句的讀熟，遇上生詞，要和閱讀中的生詞一視同仁，立刻收入單詞本并且招至賬下。

上面的五招是按照考試的答題順序進行臨陣突擊復習的。在考四級前把四級單詞快速掃一遍，挑出還不認識的，多讀幾遍對考試是很有幫助的，考試前最重要的是對以前所學習的知識進行鞏固。
