The novel told a story about how the old fisherman Santiago struggled with the sea.Santiago gained a huge fish called Marlin after having drifted in the sea for 84 days.It was a fish that is 2 feet longer than the boat and that had dragged his boat for two days before being stabbed to death.It seemed that the old man wasn’t so successful, because he encountered a shark, struggled with the serious environments, even the only spoil——Marlin just left a skeleton.However, the most important thing is that Santiago had never given up for a moment.In this novel, I am deeply impressed by his persevering.I admire the old fisherman for his steel-like mind and persistence.I think there’s a real young man inside him, although he is at an old age and no longer goes back to his youth.From the strong comparison between the old look and the young heart, we can easily find that it is the positive firm spirits that make us hold our hopes and keep trying all the time and finally guide the roads towards success.Through the vivid description about the struggle between human and nature, Hemingway expresses his opinion that the courage inside human beings can help us face any failure and overcome any difficulty.In the book, the hero Santiago was beat by the shark, which we regard as a symbol of doom, but he chose to struggle with the fortune instead of losing faith in his life.Just the same as the hero Santiago, all of us will meet with various kinds of difficulties in our daily life, which is a rule of human’s fate.So how can we adjust our attitudes toward these and what should we do with so many problems? 轉，它越游越近，最后被漁夫用漁叉一下刺死了。后來又因大馬林魚傷口上的魚腥味引來了幾群鯊魚搶食，但老人仍不愿就這樣放棄，與一條又一條的鯊魚搏斗，但是無奈武器都被鯊魚破壞掉，魚被吃掉了一大半，只剩下魚頭和魚骨，漁夫此時亦筋疲力盡，無力繼續保護魚了，但他還是把殘骸帶回了漁港，讓其他漁夫佩服不已。最后，小說以一個少年看到老漁夫在度量足有十八英尺長的大馬林魚，再次描寫了這條魚的巨大，說明老漁夫所克服的困難之大，非比尋常。仔細想想，人生中誰沒有失敗過，最重要的是在失敗過后重新勇敢的站起來，積極的去面對，去尋找失敗的根本原因，并改正?！叭松苡袔谆夭保覀円σ愿?，以全心的面貌去挑戰，堅信成功將不再遙遠。

The novel tells a story that an old man almost sixty years went to sea and fished alone in Santiago.The old fisherman had got nothing for eighty-four days and he almost died because of hunger.However, contrary to common people`s thought, he did not give up.In the eighty-fifth day, he fished a huge marlin whose body was eighteen feet in length, 1500 pounds in weight.The fish was so large that none of the Santiago`s fisherman had had got one.The old man fight with the large marlin for 3 days without any food, water and arms, and finally killed it.But, in the back journey, lots of small sharks ate out the marlin.As a result, the old man came back Santiago with the big marlin skeleton frame.I think every reader will be deeply moved by the old fisherman as me.On the one hand, I am sympathy of his failure.On the other hand, I have a great esteem for the old man`s persistence and courage.Although he became old and failed, he still made great efforts and showed a positive attitude on failure.The novel shows us an outlook on life of striving——faced with the unconquerable nature, humans still can win in spirit.Maybe the result is failure, in the process of striving, however, we can see a man of indomitable spirit.

Book Review: The Old Man And The Sea This is a great book, mind you.How I gave opinions to that is the spirits of Santiago greatly affected me.But the author, Earnest Hemingway said if his writing is really good, then the characters can also be many other things.Santiago is a common fisherman, and he hadn't had a fish for 84 days.And this time when he left he fished a big salmon by himself.He fought the fish for 3 days and nights and finally he kills it.He called it his 'brother'.But he then had to fight the sharks and finally he gone home with a fish spine, and some fish bones.I could find his great spirits of never giving up.particularly if he jus loose the grip of the fishing pole and let the fish go, he wouldn't have any trouble, but he can stay to the end.Something I regret to tell you is that I didn't read this book very carefully, so I intend to tell you I want to read this book again and tell you what I've gained through the second-time reading.今晚睡覺前，Alex花了二十分鐘草草寫下此文，寫作長度和速度還要加強，而且還有不少語法小錯誤呵，英文讀后感:老人與海，讀后感《英文讀后感:老人與?！贰Ｗ杂X要求再讀第二遍，值得表揚，繼續努力吧！
