再次，從社會和歷史角度看，我們的上輩人還過著節衣縮食的生活，這也導致當代中國人或多或少存在著“怕窮”的心理。這種社會環境引導人去追求經濟財富，這可能導致人掙了錢卻還是怕某天會失去，于是，人的一生都會成為“錢的奴隸”，背上一個沉重的枷鎖。

最后，從心理學角度來說，心理學家馬斯洛認為，人有五種基本需要——生理需要、安全需要、愛與歸屬需要、尊重需要、自我實現需要。而金錢既能滿足人們生理需要，還會被賦予了安全、尊重、愛和自我實現的含義，可謂是“萬能”的。于是，持有這種想法的人容易變成工作狂，他們忙著奔赴目的地，根本沒時間真正的享受生活。
