英語應用文寫作之推薦信

推薦信的寫作（The Writing of Letters of Recommendation）

在聯(lián)系到國外學習或就業(yè)的過程中，往往需要以往的同事、上司或老師寫一封推薦信。推薦信寫得好壞意義重大，因為它關系到對被推薦人人品、能力及知識各個方面的評價。因此，在推薦信的寫作中，首先需要對該信的用途加以了解，以便確定被推薦人是否適合這一職位或是否適合進入某一專業(yè)攻讀學位或從事研究工作。推薦信應包括以下內(nèi)容：

① 被推薦人全名；

② 推薦人與被推薦人認識時間的長短及其關系,如：(I have been Mr.Bowman’s immediate supervisor for the past six years.);

③ 被推薦人的學識及其優(yōu)秀的品質（最好有具體的事例加以證明）；

④ 被推薦人所申請的學校或機構對其感興趣的理由，總結對被推薦人的信心，并主動提出如有必要的話，可以提供更多的有關被推薦人的資料。

在推薦信的寫作中，應注意以下幾點：

1）推薦信一定要寫得具體，可以用具體的事例說明被推薦人的長處。

2）即便被推薦人有許多優(yōu)點，推薦信也應當集中在兩三個方面。

3）在推薦信中，不要使用諸如下面這樣的話：“I’d hire her in a minute if she were applying here” 或 “I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this scholarship.”。因為，推薦人只需要提供證明資料，并不需要做出任何決定。

下面請閱讀龐加萊(Henri Poincare)1和居里夫人(Madame Curie)為愛因斯坦申請到蘇黎世聯(lián)邦工學院任教而寫的推薦信。

大綱對應用文寫作的評價目標是：考生應能根據(jù)所設情景，寫出不同類型的應用文，包括私人和公務信函、備忘錄、摘要、報告等。寫作時。考生應能：

2）遵循文章的特定問題格式；

下面，就為考生介紹一下推薦信的基本寫作方法。

當我們想得到某種機會或某些東西時，如獎學金、某個職位、加入某個組織、留學等，就需要寫申請信來表達自己的請求。對申請信如何分段，沒有明確規(guī)定，但必須包含以下內(nèi)容：（1）明確是在寫申請信；（2）申請的具體內(nèi)容和緣由；（3）自身情況或條件；（4）提出要求，如面試、回信等，并表達歉意。（詳細見寫作160篇121頁）

申請信主要用于申請獎學金、求學、申請出國簽證等，這些申請往往通過申請信來請求。寫作“三步走”：

申請的具體內(nèi)容和緣由→自己的情況和條件→提出要求，如回信、面試等等。注意：

第一，語氣要誠摯友好千萬不要表現(xiàn)出強求的意思;第二，對于申請的內(nèi)容和原因一定要寫得非常清楚;第三，盡管不能表現(xiàn)出強求的意思，但是期望得到的心情一定要表達出來。范文解析：

Directions : You are a college student and want to get an editorial position with a newspaper.Write a letter to Prof.Li, who is your teacher this semester, to ask him to write a recommendation letter for you to the newspaper to state your condition。

Write the letter with no less than 100 words.Do not sign your own name at the end of the letter.Use “Wang Hua” instead.Do not write the address。
