圣誕節食物故事
每一個節日都有其專門的食物供食用,像中國的春節,大家都會吃餃子,那么西方的圣誕節,人們會吃什么呢?在西方國家,圣誕節是一個很重要的節日,對食物的選擇也是很有講究。
澳大利亞
在澳大利亞的每家飯店酒店都為圣誕節準備了豐盛的食物,有火雞、臘雞、豬腿、美酒、點心等,人們在傍晚時分或一家老小或攜親伴友,成群結隊地到餐館去吃圣誕大餐。
法國
樹干似的蛋糕Buchedenoel,便是著名的法國圣誕美食。還未發明電力以前,法國人以一棵好柴作為圣誕禮物。法國人天性浪漫,連美食的起緣也浪漫過人:從前有一個買不起圣誕禮物的年青人,在森林撿了一段木頭送給情人,不但贏得芳心,而且從此平步青云。因此,樹干蛋糕也成為祝愿來年好運的象征。
意大利
在意大利雖然平時已吃好喝好,但過圣誕節時,那才真叫大吃大喝,山珍海味,美饌佳肴,玉盤奇饈,應有盡有,是饕餐之徒大顯身手的時候。
德國
德國人也相當重視圣誕,人們會在圣誕當晚趕回家里用膳,情況好比中國人吃團年飯。德國最著名的圣誕食品是姜餅Lebkuchen。這是是一種介乎于蛋糕與餅干之間的小點。傳統的姜餅,以蜂蜜、胡椒粒為材料,又甜又辣,口感刺激。現在的姜餅都經過改良,外面灑上一層糖霜,不但口感豐富,外型也相當討好。
英國
英國的圣誕大餐極其豐富,包括燒豬、火雞、圣誕布丁、干果餡餅等。據說吃圣誕火雞這個習俗,已有300多年歷史。一般英國家庭都喜愛自行烹調火雞,將大量的蔬果如甘筍、西芹、洋蔥、栗子等,塞進十來磅的火雞肚子里,再在表層抹上多種香料,然后才放入焗爐烤。
還有傳統的圣誕布丁,圣誕布丁非常甜,吃一小角已心滿意足了!圣誕布丁在烹調時,全家人都會參與,象征團聚、和諧,并會在攪拌面團時許愿,據說需以順時針方向攪,轉錯方向便不吉利。最后藏入一枚硬幣,誰吃到便獲得一年好運!
圣誕節傳統習俗
西方人以紅、綠、白三色為圣誕色,圣誕節來臨時家家戶戶都要用圣誕色來裝飾。紅色的有圣誕花和圣誕蠟燭。綠色的是圣誕樹。它是圣誕節的主要裝飾品,用砍伐來的杉、柏一類呈塔形的常青樹裝飾而成。上面懸掛著五顏六色的彩燈、禮物和紙花,還點燃著圣誕蠟燭。
紅色與白色相映成趣的是圣誕老人,他是圣誕節活動中最受歡迎的人物。西方兒童在圣誕夜臨睡之前,要在壁爐前或枕頭旁放上一只襪子,等候圣誕老人在他們入睡后把禮物放在襪子內。在西方,扮演圣誕老人也是一種習俗。
圣誕習俗數量眾多,包括世俗,宗教,國家,圣誕相關,國與國之間差別很大。大部分人熟悉的圣誕符號及活動,如圣誕樹,圣誕火腿,圣誕柴,冬青,槲寄生以及互贈禮物,都是基督教傳教士從早期Asatru異教的冬至假日Yule里吸收而來。對冬至的慶祝早在基督教到達北歐之前就在那里廣為進行了,今天圣誕節一詞在斯堪的納維亞語里依然是異教的jul(或yule)。圣誕樹被認為最早出現在德國。
自從圣誕慶祝習俗在北歐流行后,結合著北半球冬季的圣誕裝飾和圣誕老人神話也就出現了。
