不管你承認與否,中國已經成為名副其實的“世界工廠”。隨著外商投資規模的進一步擴大,以及中國在政治、經濟、文化等領域與世界的逐步接軌,能在外資企業找到一席之位不失為一個能發揮自己以及能獲得十分吸引人的薪酬的機會。
而能否在蕓蕓求職者中脫穎而出,求職信和簡歷在公平的競爭中就成了一個非常重要的因素。無可置疑,完全英文書寫的求職者獲得面試的機會比其他競爭者往往高出許多。
下面,結合我的經驗和其他人以及雇主們的經驗和推薦,介紹一些常用而標準的英式寫法。第一部分 求職信(Cover letter)
在今天,絕大部分雇主指出,他們是從來不會看沒有求職信(Cover letter)的個人簡歷的。因此,求職信是必要的。但求職信不是對個人簡歷的簡單復述,而是禮貌而鮮明的突出自己的目標和要求,促使閱讀者有興趣閱讀你的個人簡歷和推薦信。
求職信的目的和好處在于:
1、可保證個人簡歷到達正確的閱讀人的桌面。如果招聘廣告上沒有收信人的姓名,我推薦打電話詢問將會處理求職申請的人的姓名(這顯示你的誠意以及專業精神,給雇主深刻印象)。假如不能的話按照以下原則:小型企業—經理(Managing director),中型企業—部門負責人(Head of section/department),大型企業—全體職員或者人事部(Personnel or Human Resource Department)。
2、說服收信者閱讀你的個人簡歷
3、清楚地表明你對具體哪一個職位感興趣
4、表明為什么對該職位有興趣,為什么你認為自己勝任該職位
5、提及一到兩點在個人簡歷里面的內容,以及回應廣告的要求
所以,求職信并不能保證你找到工作,但,做好這一點,它能給你帶來面試的機會,或者至少令雇主打開你的個人簡歷。
那么,Cover letter要包括那些內容呢,至少有以下幾點。
1、招聘廣告中給出的收信人姓名,頭銜和地址
2、你所感興趣的職位以及你從何處得知招聘消息(或許朋友推薦)
3、用三到四個“項目符號”(如Word工具欄)列舉出你為什么能勝任該職位的背景和特長,回應招聘廣告的要求。
4、表明有興趣獲得一個面試的機會,討論申請問題。
5、檢查拼寫和語法錯誤
6、千萬不要提及薪酬問題,也不要提及雇主想要或者可能想要的但你又不能達到的技能或要求
7、除非注明要求手寫,否則應用打字機或者文字處理軟件打印。但個人簽名一定要用手寫(記住這一點不要忘記)
8、對應不同的申請應用不同的求職信,例如內容、側重點和風格的不同等
9、注意,Cover letter應力求精簡,除非有特殊情況,否則一律用一張紙完成下面舉出一個實戰例子:

已經大三的我們,馬上就要面臨就業的抉擇。由于目前高校畢業生數量逐年增加,我們面臨的就業壓力也很嚴峻,如何在求職中脫穎而出,如何讓招聘單位注意到你,這不僅與你的能力有關,一份好的就職信或是簡歷也會為你的求職加分增彩。書寫求職信和簡歷的必要性顯而易見。
撰寫就職信需要注意以下幾點要求:
第一、自我介紹、用人單位的真實意圖以及寫求職信的目的信的首段要抓住招聘經理的注意力。說明你為何寄履歷表,你對公司有興趣并想擔任他們空缺的職位。可以通過暗示你與公司雇員的親屬關系來表達你對公司的興趣。要說明你干的是同一行業,有著同樣的工作興趣,或者你一直通過搜集信息了解公司或者這個行業。敘述你 要求擔任公司空缺時,要說得越詳細越好,不要只說起工作職位,還應該談談這個職位的要求。
第二、說明自己的優勢,以求職單位掛鉤的經歷和申請求職的理由。
信的第二部分要簡短地敘述自己的才能,特別是這些才能將滿足公司的需要。這部分你應強調你的才能和經驗將會有益于公司的發展。這些經驗是用人單位很關心的一個問題。還要寫好你申請求職的理由,不要太直接的寫收益多少,盡量寫些讓用人單位信服的話。
第三、制定計劃、并注意就職信要言簡意賅,一頁就可以。信的結尾要表明你的下一步計

制作簡歷:
1、個人資料,包 括:姓名、年齡(出生年月)、性別、籍貫、民族、學歷、學位、政治面貌、學校、專業、身高、畢業時間、聯系方式等等。一般來說,本人基本情況 的介紹越詳細越好,但也沒有必要畫蛇添足,一個內容要素用一兩個關鍵詞簡明扼要地括說明一下就夠了。
2、應聘職位,寫清應聘的職位或是大概的方向。
3、資歷(包括任職資格、技能、榮譽與成就、社會活動)
主要列出大學階段的主修、輔修與選修課科目及成績,要突出重點,有針對性。使你的學歷、知識結構讓用人單位感到與其招聘條件相吻合。突出大學階段所擔任的社會工作、職務,在各種實習機會當中擔當的工作。介紹你所獲得的證書和榮譽。介紹你的專長、興趣、性格與你所所謀求的職業特點、要求相吻合。事實上,“本人的學習經歷”、“本人的實踐、工作經歷”同樣在映證個人的能力、性格,因此,前后一定要相互照應。
另外,要注意簡歷的內容不要過于啰嗦,要注意簡歷的表達技巧,也可以嘗試用英文制作簡歷。

寫求職信要堅持實事求是的原則,用成就和事實代替華而不實的修飾語,恰如其分地介紹自己。要突出重點,針對某一單位的某一職位而求職,效果會更好。文字要順暢,字跡要工整,求職信是用人單位對求職人的一次非正式的考核,用人單位可以通過信件了解求職者的語言修辭和文字表達能力,可以說求職信是用人單位對求職者取得第一印象的憑證。
