小品詞就是那些小的介詞和副詞：at, in, on, off, up, out of, into, away?

小品詞小，而且看似簡單。on不就是“在??之上”嗎？當然，有些人還會想起在go on, get on中意為“繼續進行”。

可是小品詞很重要，因為它表示種種關系；而且把握得不完全往往會給我們帶來不少障礙。

On turning the corner, he descended the slope.“轉彎”與“下坡”之間的關系，由on來表達，要理解此句，它是關鍵。

但我們發現on的前述兩個意思都不能解釋這個句子。考研要求我們全面把握小品詞用法，掃除這種障礙。如：on后接動作時，表示“在??之后”。上句迎刃而解。

再比如 “with”, 如果僅知道“和??一起”，下面的句子也會有困難。

英語中形似介詞的副詞小品詞是一類比較特殊的詞。它既有副詞的某些特征，又具有介詞的詞形。它往往與前面的動詞形成修飾和補充說明的語義關系，本身不能單獨充當句子成分；它形似介詞，又沒有實體意義，卻不能獨自帶賓語，與動詞構成的是只有一個論元的單位述謂結構。總介

但我們發現on的前述兩個意思都不能解釋這個句子。考研要求我們全面把握小品詞用法，掃除這種障礙。如：on后接動作時，表示“在……之后”。上句迎刃而解。再比如 “with”，如果僅知道“和……一起”，下面的句子也會有困難。
