我是一名英語教師,20多年的教學實踐,我最大的感慨是:讓學生愛上一門課,是學好這門課的要害。那么,怎樣讓我的學生愛上英語課的呢?

讓學生愛上英語老師——用人格魅力影響學生

教師是用靈魂塑造靈魂,用人格影響人格。我曾這樣說過:“上等教師用眼神說話,中等教師用語言說話,下等教師用拳腳說話。”當一個教師的人格魅力在學生中引起共鳴后,他們就像“追星族”一樣,對你所教的學科如癡如醉。所以,從教之初,我就給自己定下了12字方針:“誠信為本,有諾必踐,率先垂范”。并以此為本,為學生作出表率。

去年我所帶的高三年級三個班的英語課,在湖北省黃岡市教研室組織的全市質量檢測中,分別獲得前三名。市教研室的調研成績揭曉后,我撫模著6本厚厚的教案,幾乎是流著眼淚回憶了過去的一幕幕。是啊,課上一分鐘,課下十年功。沒有十年磨一劍的反復錘煉,哪有這來之不易的成績啊!

回想這些,我的體會是:加強科研,向教研要質量。通過教研,下功夫備好課。備教材:對每一課的重點難點把握準,把握透,以便熟練地駕馭教材,讓每一個知識點都清清楚楚,明明白白;備學生:對每一個班級的情況都深入了解,具體情況具體分析,最大限度地發揮學生各自的優勢;備教法:力求不斷變換教學方法,以全新的視角激起學生求知的欲望。再者就是通過教研精挑細選,選例子,選材料,選方法。平時多給學生提供材料,多給學生分析問題,動腦思考的機會。

讓學生愛上英語課——開展豐富多彩的活動

新課標注重讓每個學生都生動活潑,富有特色地發展。結合學校實際我們開辟了英語角,讓學生參加聽說讀寫譯活動。比如我喜愛寫文章,學生愿意跟我學。我就鼓勵他們多寫、多投稿。這樣的活動不僅提高學生的學習愛好,也培養了他們樂觀向上的人生態度。

進行教學手段的更新,多想辦法,利用第二課堂、愛好組活動、知識競賽等多種途徑,開拓學生的視野,激發學生的愛好。我還鼓勵學生自制教具、自制圖片、自制課件。通過這些豐富多彩的活動,引導學生進行思考,提高學生的動手能力。

讓學生輕松學好英語——加強學法指導,變“學會”為“會學”

高一、二年級的學生,學習較為死板,針對這種情況,我加大了學法指導的力度,先做課件,讓學生用多媒體體會學法的奧妙:同樣一種知識,學生氣誡記憶,用40分鐘記不住;經教師指導后進行理解記憶,僅用了10分鐘就記住了;再把這些內容編成順口溜或口訣,學生用了不到5分鐘就爛熟于心,且不會忘記。由此我提醒學生變機誡記憶為邏輯記憶,變邏輯記憶為形象記憶等。我還根據艾賓浩斯的遺忘曲線,提醒學生及時復習,每晚回憶,課前回顧,取得了頗佳的效果。

對學生的學法指導,重點是怎樣培養學生學習的積極性、自覺性和主動性。假如只是一味地通過拼時間、拼精力來追求成績的提高,最終只能是本末倒置,適得其反。所以,我們的教育要有長遠打算,應該著眼于孩子的前途和未來,著眼于孩子的終身發展,最終的落腳點應該是教會學生怎樣學習,教會他們學習的方法,引導他們積極主動地去學。

英語是一門實踐性很強的學科,它是一個包括聽、說、讀、寫的操練和語言信息的輸入輸出的實踐過程。因此,教師必須把學生置于運用語言的活動中去感知、分析、理解、操練,從模擬

交際到真實交際,以期達到真正掌握英語。所有這一切都必須靠發揮學生的主觀能動性,激發他們的學習興趣,使其形成良好的學習動機和教師為其創造良好的客觀條件,才能有效地實現。因此,優化課堂教學結構,訓練學生的英語運用能力是實施英語素質教育的重要關鍵。

一、優化學習氛圍,創設會話環境

要使英語學習從“必然王國”走向“自由王國”,語言環境是非常重要的。要激發學生的學習興趣,就一定要給學生創設一個學英語、用英語的環境,這個環境包括硬環境和軟環境。所謂“硬環境”,就是在室內設置英語墻報,英文標語,英語畫刊等,在室外開辦“英語角”,強化對各種物品的英語名稱的識記,以此體現和強化一種外語氛圍;所謂“軟環境”,就是師生之間、同學之間在課內外經常用英語進行會話。課堂上運用掛圖、投影片等創設情景,用英語看圖說話,用英語扮演角色,用英語搞搶答賽,用英語進行思維和想象,最大限度地創設會話環境,使學生學習英語有一種自我追求、自我完善、自我提高的興趣和動力。

二、優化教學內容,實踐語言“內化”

成功的英語教學不只是看一節課教了多少內容,最重要的是看學生練了多少,學會了多少,在實踐中能用多少,這種“學會”、“能用”就是“內化”。為此,在英語教學實踐中,就要以此為目標優化教學內容,優化教學手段,優化“識記——操練——運用”的教學過程,讓學生在整個教學活動中有強烈的求知欲和成功感。

要優化教學內容,就必須吃透教材,活化教材,使教材內容生活化,讓學生感到書本語言和我們生活實踐貼得很近,對教學內容具有親切感,進而產生濃厚的求知欲和強烈的進取欲,變被動吸取為主動探索。因此,創造性地鉆研教學內容,在利教、便學、易記上下功夫,在培養學生能力上下功夫,是切實有效地提高英語教學質量的有效途徑。優化教學手段,必須充分利用和創設情景,無論是語言情景、實物情景、聲像情景都可以激發學生的學習興趣。如聽錄音、看投影、角色對話等,讓學生入情入景,努力使書本語言和實際運用統一起來,使課堂教學在全方位、多層次的活動中輕松愉快地進行。優化教學過程,必須把重點放在提高學生語言運用的能力上,必須糾正從書本回到書本的“一讀二背”的簡單識記,而要從識記、操練向運用飛躍。要達到這樣的目標,必須使學生聽、說、讀、寫四種技能得到全面發展,并能綜合運用,必須通過強化訓練提高學生動腦、動口、動手能力,堅持每天值日匯報,開展一些豐富多彩的比賽活動,如閱讀、講故事、唱歌、書法、簡筆畫等,這是提高學生外語素質、實踐外語“內化”的重要舉措。

三、優化教學活動,提高運用能力

學習語言的最終目的是運用。在英語教學活動中切忌死記硬背,而要千方百計強化語言運用能力的訓練。在訓練中,我們要努力融知識性、趣味性、靈活性于一爐,追求最佳的表達效果。如訓練造句能力,教師可以先提問:“What are you going to bewhen you grow up?”學生根據各自的志愿做出回答:“I am going to be a teacher/a worker/an officer/a cleaner and so on.”教者還可繼續問:“why?”通過訓練,學生不但可以鞏固已學詞語,而且能學會根據語境做出相應的反應、正確的應答,從而提高英語運用能力。

再如,運用投影,創設問路情境組織學生進行角色扮演,將靜景變為動景,將書本語言變為交際語言。在課堂上可以啟發學生總結歸納有關問路的說法,再用投影片展示下列句子:(1)Excuse me, where’s the nearest?,please?(2)Is there a?near here?(3)Which is the way to?,please?(4)How can I get to?please?(5)Do you know the way to?,please?(6)Can you tell me the way to...,please?(7)Can you find the way to...?(8)I want to go to...?(9)I’m looking for...Where is it,do you k now?(10)I can’t

find the way to...Can you tell me how to get to...,please? Walk along this road/street.It’s about...meters from here.Take the first turning on the left/right...Walk on and turn left/right.再進行一系列操練,讓全班學生都參與活動。

當生活中這些熟悉的畫面再現在同學們面前時,學生自然會情緒高漲,躍躍欲試,他們會揣摸不同身份人物的心理,模擬出各種不同的語言、動作、神態。這種知識性、趣味性相結合的訓練,可以使新舊知識融會貫通,書本知識交際化,課堂活動生活化,在“潤物細無聲”中,學生的英語運用能力可以得到顯著提高。

四、優化教師素質,提高教學能力

要搞好教育,教師隊伍建設是關鍵,而教師的教學思想和教學觀念直接影響著教育的成效。作為今天的教師,我們在昨天受教育,卻在今天教育明日社會的主人。現代信息技術的發展,為學生提供了更豐富的學習資源、學習方式、學習空間和學習手段。

現代化的世界迫使教師不斷學習和應用現代信息技術,樹立新的教育觀念,緊跟時代的步伐,使今天的教育向明天更加靠近。因此,教師必須樹立終身學習的思想,不斷學習新的知識,獲取新的信息,以完成知識結構的調整和更新,提高適應現代化教學的能力。同時,在教學過程中,特別是現代信息技術的運用,也使“改善師生關系、落實學生主體地位、發揮學生自主學習意識、培養創新能力”等觀念和意識更加深入教師的大腦,讓教師不得不擯棄以往單純以粉筆和黑板、以教師和書本為中心的舊的教學方式。

五、優化教學教法,創新教學模式

在中學英語教學中,受中學教法的影響,多采用原來的五步教學法,現代信息技術與英語教學的整合,促進了現代信息技術在教學過程中的普遍應用,使得教學內容的呈現方式、教師的教學方式和師生互動方式發生變化,并為學生的學習和發展提供了豐富多彩的教育環境和有力的學習工具,是教學過程得到充分的改善。

現在,英語教師大多能熟練運用PowerPoint軟件制作演示文稿、用Flash 軟件制作動畫、用Photoshop 進行圖片處理,有的還能制作網站。例如:老師用制作的多媒體交互式課件進行教學,把課件放在網上,發送到學生機,讓學生根據自己的實際情況,操作鼠標,點擊主界面上提供的對話,歌曲,練習等項目來完成學習,所有的問題都在課件中呈現。因為它是交互式的,所以大多數問題學生能夠通過操作電腦解決。活動化的教學過程更使學生感受到了英語學習的無窮樂趣,體驗到了成功的愉悅心情。可見,這樣的教學過程,注重了培養學生的獨立性和自主性,它能引導學生質疑、調查、探究,在實踐中學習,這樣的教學環境能引導學生主動參與,激發學生的學習積極性,培養他們掌握和應用知識的態度和能力,使每個學生都能得到很好的發展。
