九年級英語拓展閱讀研究

隨著社會的發展和基礎教育英語新課程改革的穩步推進,用英語獲取信息和處理信息的能力顯得愈發重要,閱讀是發展這種能力的途徑之一,在英語教學中占有十分重要的地位。

作為市初中新課改實驗基地,我們學校一直關注英語閱讀教學,發展學生閱讀能力。為了使我們的閱讀教學更加完善,形成自己的特色,我們組織申報了全國基礎外語教育研究培訓中心課題“拓展閱讀體驗,有效提升中國學生英語閱讀能力實驗”子課題“初中英語合作閱讀教學研究”,課題自開題以來進展順利。為了了解全縣初中英語閱讀教學的現狀,學習借鑒兄弟學校好的經驗,促進課題研究進一步開展,同時也為了讓全縣的初中英語老師了解“全國基礎外語教育研究培訓中心”,了解我們的課題,共同探討閱讀教學的有效策略,推動全縣初中英語閱讀教學,在縣教育局教研室的支持下,我們組織召開了“全縣初中英語閱讀教學研討會”。會議期間,我們對參加會議的老師進行了問卷調查,基于本次調查,我們結合近三年來全縣初中英語教學視導檢查的情況對初中英語閱讀教學現狀進行了分析。

一、關于課內閱讀教學

學習英語,單詞是基礎,學好單詞最重要的一點是要朗讀和閱讀文章,要在文章中大量接觸和熟悉單詞。如果學生能堅持一天大聲朗讀一篇文章,哪怕是一小篇,英語水平就會有很大提高。這就是為什么新課標要求初中畢業時“除教材外的閱讀量要達到15萬詞”(教育部,2001)的原因之一。現在的問題是我們好多學生沒有適合的文章去讀,同時即便有了也不知道如何在朗讀的基礎上去理解文章。這就要求我們老師在傳授知識的同時要注重培養學生的閱讀理解能力。這種能力的培養,關鍵是要抓住新教材中的閱讀部分。

由于考試的大部分基礎題目都來自閱讀部分,因此,一部分教師認為必須詳細講解課文的語言點,否則,考試就會出問題。因此,在每教授完一個單元的閱讀部分后,教師總有一種心理釋放的感覺──這一單元任務基本完成了。還有一種觀點是,課文是用來閱讀的,是培養學生閱讀能力的重要途徑,能力在先,但為了考試,語言點也要詳細講解。對此,我們設計了這樣一個問題:在閱讀課的教學中,您是注重。A.語言知識的講解

B.閱讀能力的培養

C.兩者兼而有之。結果選A和B的占31.72%,選C 的為68.28%。可以說,這是新課程改革帶來的可喜變化,說明我們的一線老師觀念變了。但在實際的操作過程中,由于缺乏理論的指導,許多老師在處理閱讀教學時往往注重的還是對文本語言知識的“精耕細作”,而學生閱讀能力的培養卻被忽視了。也就是說,老師們在處理文本語言知識與學生能力培養之間的關系時存在嚴重的偏差。這是當前閱讀教學中存在的普遍現象,應引起我們的關注。

這種現象在我們接下來的問題中得到了印證。在教學每個單元的閱讀時,您給學生設計的問題是在講解語言點之前出示給學生,還是在講解完語言點之后?有71.3%的老師回答“在講解完之后”。試想,一篇文章都被我們支離破碎地講解“透”了,再給學生一些問題來回答,還談得上閱讀能力的發展嗎?程曉堂(2006)對此曾作了精辟的論述,他認為:必須明白課文的首要功能不是作為知識的載體;課文首先是用來閱讀的;閱讀的目的主要是培養閱讀能力,其次是提供語言輸入和文化輸入。

觀念的改變是培養學生閱讀能力的前提,如何培養、發展學生的閱讀能力才是關鍵。我們使用的教材中每一單元的閱讀后都設計了諸多類型的練習,這些練習是培養、發展學生閱讀能力,鞏固語言點的有效載體,在教學中,我們應該加以充分利用,由學生通過各種形式的小組活動來合作完成。學生完成任務的過程實際上就是一個合作、互動、創新的過程。教師應該培養學生的合作意識和合作學習能力,讓他們知道用什么工具、通過什么途徑去收集有價值的信息和資料。合作學習不僅要讓學生了解對方的觀點,而且要學會表達自己的觀點,在此基礎上學會討論問題的要領和方法(朱惠芳,2003)。但我們在視導檢查和調查中發現,好多老師不能根據學生的學習情況很好地運用這些練習,其中最重要的原因之一是這些練習不是選擇題,與各種測試中的題型不太相符。在我們的調查中,有69.12%的老師對這一部分練習是按教材順序進行處理的,只是為了完成教學任務;而根據學生學習情況,結合能力培養、發展的層次進行重新整合的老師只有30.88%。

教材是學生學習和教師教學的重要內容和手段。教師要善于結合實際教學需要,靈活地有創造性地使用教材,對教材的內容、編排順序、教學方法等方面進行適當的取舍或調整(教育部,2001),這是新課程標準對教材使用提出的建議。很顯然,我們的老師在這方面做得還遠遠不夠。教材是不變的,而學生卻千差萬別,怎能千篇一律的照搬教材呢?對于優秀的學生,課文后的問題顯得太容易,吃不飽;對于基礎差的學生,這些問題又太難,吃不了。因此,除了對閱讀后的練習進行順序調整之外,必須根據教學情況再進行適當的補充和刪減。在我們的調查中,當問及在閱讀課教學過程中,您是否會根據學生的實際語言水平設計不同類型的問題讓學生回答或讓學生自己設計問題,進行合作交流時,有76.36%的老師的回答是“否”。當我們的教學不能滿足學生的需求,不能調動學生參與的主動性時,其有效性一定會大打折扣的。

二、關于閱讀題型、題量和試卷評講

教材中的閱讀及其后面的練習是培養、發展學生閱讀能力和綜合應運英語語言能力的主渠道,是每個單元教學的重點。除此之外,學生的閱讀能力還來自我們一次次的測試中的閱讀理解。在視導檢查和平時的觀察中,我們發現做試卷中的閱讀理解幾乎成了學生除教材之外的全部閱讀資源,對這些閱讀理解的評講成了培養學生閱讀理解能力最重要的手段之一。因此,平時測試卷中有關閱讀的題型、題量以及老師的評講方式對于培養、發展學生的閱讀能力和閱讀技巧起著十分重要的作用。但在實際的教學中我們卻發現,就是這最能體現學生閱讀能力的各類測試中,閱讀理解的題型設置以“選擇性”為主,題目的數量很小,老師對閱讀理解的評講大都只是“翻譯翻譯”、“對對答案”,在這樣的局面下,學生的閱讀理解能力根本不可能得到很好的發展。我們應該關注這些方面,研究這些方面,改變這種現狀。

在平時的測試或期中、期末調研考試中,閱讀理解通常有兩篇,有時甚至只有一篇,且客觀選擇題偏多,主觀筆答題較少。這是我們調查統計的結果。之所以出現這樣的現象,受傳統標準化題型的影響是主要原因,但命題者的命題思想卻是關鍵。往往命題者在命制試卷時既要考慮試題的選擇性,又要考慮閱卷的方便性,既要考慮試題的難易性,又要考慮學生的適應性。畢竟,我們的學生早已做慣了“選擇性”的題目,遇到“主觀”筆答題往往心理無底,得不到高分。事實證明,選擇題偏多給閱讀教學帶來了諸多的弊端,不利于培養、發展學生閱讀能力。“閱讀是語言學習的重要方法和途徑。在閱讀教學中,老師給學生的閱讀材料的內容應該盡量廣泛,能夠讓學生感興趣,而不應該局限于帶選擇題的閱讀練習材料”(程曉堂,2006)。我們在測試卷中就應多設置一些與教材中相類似的非選擇性閱讀理解題。這些非選擇性閱讀理解題在很大程度上克服了多項選擇題的不足,是對傳統選擇性閱讀理解的補充和完善,這樣可以很好地培養、發展學生的英語閱讀能力及綜合運用英語語言的能力。

無論是傳統的選擇性閱讀理解題,還是我們提倡的非選擇性閱讀理解題,我們都不能輕視老師在每次測試之后的試卷評講。評講的形式通常有三種:對答案,只告訴學生ABC;通篇翻譯后做題;巧引導,注重閱讀技巧的培養。對這三種形式的調查結果是,只對答案的占8.12%,邊翻譯邊做題的占64.89%,注重引導、培養閱讀技巧的只有25.99%。面對這樣的局面,我們必須引起足夠的重視,認真探索、研究試卷評講,特別是閱讀理解題的評講策略,這樣才能使我們學生的閱讀能力得以發展,綜合運用英語語言的能力得以提高。

三、關于課外閱讀

《英語課程標準》規定,初中英語五級的課外閱讀量除教材外應累計達到15萬詞以上,僅靠課本、練習冊上的閱讀材料難以滿足學生發展英語閱讀能力的需求,教材不可能完全滿足學生的需要(程曉堂,2005)。因此,教師應從實際出發,根據學生的興趣特長、知識水

平等補充英語讀物(朱惠芳,2003)。“拓展閱讀體驗,有效提升中國學生英語閱讀能力實驗” 總課題組推薦的外語教學與研究出版社英語系列讀物《新標準英語·分級有聲讀物》、《英語綜合讀物》、《新標準中小學·分級英語讀物》、《外研社·企鵝英語分級有聲讀物》、《書蟲》及《悅讀聯播》等就是很好的課外讀物。除此之外,我們還要積極利用其他課程資源,特別是廣播影視節目、錄音、錄像資料、直觀教具和實物、多媒體光盤資料、各種形式的網絡資源、報刊雜志等等(教育部,2001),拓展學習和運用英語的渠道,給學生提供貼近學生實際、貼近生活、貼近時代的內容健康和豐富的課程資源,積極鼓勵和支持學生主動參與課外資源的開發和利用。

在我們的視導檢查中,對學生了訪談和調查,結果令我們震驚:大多數農村學校學生的閱讀材料只有課本中的課文和每次考試卷中的閱讀題。即便是城區的學生這樣的現象也普遍存在。在問卷調查中,對“除了課本中的閱讀資源和考試中的閱讀之外,您的學生有課外閱讀英語的習慣嗎?”回答“無”的達89.59%。課標中對五級閱讀技能的要求包括:能根據上下文和構詞法推斷、理解生詞的含義;能理解段落中各句子之間的邏輯關系;能找出文章中的主題,理解故事的情節,預測故事情節的發展和可能的結局;能讀懂常見體裁的閱讀材料;能根據不同的閱讀目的運用簡單的閱讀策略獲取信息;能利用字典等工具書進行學習;除教材外,課外閱讀量能累計達到15萬詞以上(教育部,2001)。要達到這些要求,不能只靠課內閱讀,作為英語教育工作者,我們應與學生一起加大課外閱讀資源的開發、利用,注重學生課外閱讀習慣的培養。

實際上,課外閱讀資源是十分豐富的,音像、電視、雜志、書刊、網絡信息等等,只是,我們沒有好好利用、開發罷了。在我們對英語課外閱讀資源的調查中,78.52%的老師選擇了書籍,8.73%的選擇了報刊,而最為豐富的網絡資源卻只有3.25%。我們知道,這里的書籍實際上多為學生購買的各種各樣的“教輔資料”,真正閱讀材料不是很多。這里的報刊實際上是一張報紙,老師學生真正關注的還是報紙上的各種練習,而不是文章的閱讀。網絡的利用在學生中是“差生的天堂”,是班主任絞盡腦汁扼殺的對象。我們為什么不能換個思路,引導學生通過網絡溝通,通過網絡合作學習,通過網絡合作閱讀呢?

令人欣慰的是,從今年開始,全縣各中學教材都配有與教材同步的“同步閱讀訓練”,同時總課題組也給我們提供了多樣的、適合中學生閱讀水平的配套閱讀資源,這些無疑給我們的學生提供了可閱讀的“課外資源”。課外閱讀到底有多大益處,只有經歷了才能道出個中的真諦。好多英語專家在總結自己的成功經驗時都提到了閱讀的重要。桂詩春的“開卷有益”,何其莘的“大量閱讀”,簡單幾個字給我們以啟迪;黃源深說,“大量閱讀對英語學習

至關重要,沒有大量閱讀很難學好英語。

閱讀能力的培養是一個循序漸進、螺旋上升的過程,這就要求我們英語教師在平時的教學過程中既要重視閱讀課的教學,又要加強閱讀教學的討論、研究。由全國基礎外語教育研究培訓中心負責,北京外國語大學龔雁教授主持的“拓展閱讀體驗,有效提升中國學生英語閱讀能力實驗”課題為這方面研究交流提供了一個很好的平臺。相信有了這樣的一個平臺,一定能幫助中國學生盡快成為高效的英語閱讀者(龔雁,2008)。我們應改變局限于教材文本語言知識的“精耕細作”,改變閱讀理解“選擇性”題型一統天下的局面,與學生一起共同開發課外閱讀資源,扭轉這些不利于發展學生閱讀能力的教學現狀。

閱讀教學是一項復雜的、師生雙邊的語言和思維相互作用的活動過程。英語閱讀教學中交互式電子白板的應用給傳統的英語閱讀教學教學模式注人了新的活力,加快了從傳統教育向現代化教育的轉變速度,使英語閱讀教學質量得到了質的飛躍。英語閱讀課堂教學中巧妙應用電子白板,充分發揮其功能優勢,教學中能讓學生得到更愉快更輕松簡單更活潑的學習過程和更高效學習效率。以下是我們組成員結合自己的教學實踐,淺談交互式電子白板與英語閱讀教學的整合,優化英語閱讀教學。

(一)、讀前(Pre-reading)——創設情境,激趣促學

興趣是最好的老師,是主動學習、積極思考、探索知識的內在動力。青少年所處的年齡階段,好奇心最強,對感興趣的事物總是愉快地去探究。因此,在教學中激發學生的興趣尤為重要。而情景又是激發學生興趣的動力和源泉。閱讀前的導入環節是上好閱讀課的前提。常用的策略有背景介紹法、頭腦風暴法、現實關聯法、新舊聯系法、問題設疑法等。把這些方法巧妙結合交互式電子白板,靈活的展示、編輯多媒體材料、連接音頻、視頻,創設情境畫面,以情激趣,全方位、多角度地激發學生的好奇心與求知欲,使他們產生學習的動機。可以激發學生的求知欲和學習興趣,讓學生產生積極情緒。如在讀Sea Stories一文前先播放大海中出現巨大漩渦的情景,使學生深切地感受到漩渦的可怕,在吸引了學生的注意力后設疑:“How horrible the whirlpool is!If we meet the situation on the ship,what can we do?此文講訴了一個在大海中遭遇巨大漩渦的故事。”總之,讀前活動的整體目標是激發興趣、引起思考、作好準備,主要是希望解決學生“想讀”“愛讀”的問題。教師的讀前準備做得充分,學生才能學得輕松愉快。反之,開頭開得不好,整個閱讀課的效果就會打折扣。因此,讀前活動不能忽視。具體的活動方法還有很多,遠不止上面幾個,可以根據閱讀內容靈活選擇,且要注意經常變化。

(二)、讀中(While-reading)——突出重點,層層深入

閱讀過程是閱讀課的核心,也是學生閱讀能力提高的關鍵。閱讀過程是學生逐步熟悉、掌握、運用策略和技巧的過程,是學生在新的語境中復現和實際運用學習過的詞語、句式結構等語言知識的過程,也是他們進一步豐富拓展語言知識的過程。英語閱讀教學離不開泛讀與精讀的訓練。泛讀是快速閱讀全文,理清文章脈絡,了解課文大意,建立初步的全文整體印象:精讀是在學生了解文章整體大意后,讓學生再讀課文,學會處理信息,找出有效信息,把閱讀重點轉入對文章 局部的深入理解和分析。在泛讀與精讀過程中,學生如何獲取不同層面的閱讀信息,這是提高學生閱讀技能的關鍵。基于互交式電子白板英語課堂教學環境下的教學模式,是師生互動的課堂,教師運用現代教育技術手段,通過對背景知識和相關問題的提問和討論,讓學生在視、聽、思中豐富感性知識,產生再造想象,入境動情,形象地感知,理智地思索。因此,使用交互式電子白板可以與學生充分互動,為英語閱讀教學過程中的師生、生生互動提供極大的便利。在泛讀中,教師可以將需要學生回答的問題展示在白板上,同時也可用探照燈功能將問題的重點突出出來,讓學生快速有效在閱讀材料中找到關鍵詞或主題句,從而解決問題。

在精讀過程中,教師可以適時地使用遮罩功能來集中學生的注意力;使用文字拉幕、頁面快照等功能來突出閱讀中的重點;利用前置、后置、對象移動、翻轉等功能來詮釋閱讀材料中重難點詞組與句型,并在教學中隨時超鏈接各種多媒體材料,演示迅速便捷,手段多樣,效果直觀、形象、生動,從視覺到信息量上無不對學生造成巨大的沖擊與震撼。

如此這樣,在閱讀中易難有序、規范訓練,這樣就可以增加學生的信心,加大學生對課堂內容的關注度,學生不僅可以深刻地理解閱讀材料,更可以良好地掌握其中的英語語言點,從而提高閱讀課堂質量。

(三)、讀后(Post-reading)——課外延伸,發散思維

閱讀活動完成之后,教師需要對學生的閱讀理解情況進行檢查,根據反饋解決疑難問題,開展鞏固性和拓展性活動。做好鞏固環節可以加深學生對課文的理解,使學生有機會練習剛學的知識。一些教師認為,上完了規定的教學內容就算完成了教學任務,其實不然。知識從理解到掌握需要一個過程,充分的讀后活動可以幫助學生鞏固閱讀成果、拓展知識運用、培養提高技能。閱讀教學中,教師不僅要教給學生知識,還要想方設法引導學生進行學法的遷移,通過發散學生思維,培養他們的創新能力。利用多媒體技術可以使學生大大增加聽和看的機會;用文字、圖像、聲音的巧妙結合,可以大大增加課堂信息量,實現課內外的溝通,全面提高課堂教學效率,提高學生的整體素質。在課堂中的教學時間是有限的,為使課堂教學受到更好的效果,讓學生的認識得到延伸,升華,讀后延伸是必不可少的,在讀后自由地和學生進行各種交流互動,組織學生開展多種學習活動,它能讓學生發揮創新思維,把英語閱讀課堂上沒有盡興的“節目”延伸到課外完成。學生進一步加深了對閱讀材料的理解,讓學生在說話時身處能讓其動情的情境,讓他們親身體驗情感產生、發展的過程,這樣,才能激發學生的情感,達到情感教學目標。初中英語閱讀教學課題研究實驗總結

初三英語組

經過課題組全體成員的共同努力,在新《課標》的指導下,初中閱讀課教學的基本模式已經形成,充分利用了電子白板并在實踐中取得了比較好的效果。擴充了同學們的閱讀量,增強了同學們閱讀的興趣。

一、主要工作

1、認真做好了實驗的開題工作。在2014年開學初,學習了切實可行的計劃,使實驗教師明確了實驗目標、實驗步驟、實驗辦法等。

2、認真做好實驗調查研究工作.實驗前,我們對全體學生的閱讀現狀進行了調查,摸清楚了他們的英語閱讀能力與習慣,為進行英語課題閱讀教學策略實驗研究做了很好的鋪墊。

3、認真做好對實驗教師的培訓工作。指導實驗教師學習相關理論,用新課程理論來理解實驗的立項和研究工作,尤其在第二學期認真學習的交互式電子白板的使用,為課題的實施做好必要的理論和實踐上的準備。

4、實驗教師按課題方案撰寫實施計劃。組織實驗教師根據總課題方案并根據自己的教學實際進行實驗研究,使實驗教師選準了實驗的突破口,也保證了課題研究的深度和廣度。

5、強化實驗過程,保證實驗的落實。堅持以常規教學為載體,以課堂行為為保證的實驗方法;堅持實驗教師的個體研究為主,課題小組等集體研究為輔的實驗方法。

6、加強實驗的指導。主持人加強了自身的理論學習,提高自身素質,多深入課堂,多做細致的分析,多和教師、學生面談,理解實驗的真實情況,有針對性的指導,發現有效的做法及時組織教師交流借鑒,出現偏差及時糾正,做到了重過程、重指導、勤總結、勤改進、保證實驗的順利進行。

7、加強資料積累。對反應課題研究的過程性材料加強了積累,課題組做到了要求明確,督促實驗教師勤于動筆,各個層次的活動記錄,實驗教師的學習筆記,案例分析,課堂實驗記錄,階段計劃總結、實驗論文等文字或音像資料及時整體,期末存檔.

8、注重總結分析,及時改進工作。及時做好課題實驗總結及使用新教材體會。二.實驗成果

1.多渠道培養學生學習英語的濃厚興趣

教師通過英語故事、趣味英語及英語專題講座、學生身邊發生的真實故事、使用多媒體(電子白板)等多渠道激發學生對英語的興趣,通過辦英語手抄報、黑板報擴大學生知識面,開闊視野;通過了解文章故事情節,加強學生思想道德方面的教育,提高英語課題的境界,也達到了提高學生思想素質的育人目的。2.同學們形成了不同的良好的閱讀習慣

好的閱讀習慣形成了,口語和筆頭(書面)表達能力同時得到了加強,并在語言的實際運用中潛移默化地形成了語感。

略讀知意――限時泛讀――重點精讀――創設運用

3.在我校的課題研究過程中,加之學校教務處、校領導給予了大力的關心、支持和幫助。課題組成員能不計較個人得失,一切為了英語教育事業,充分發揮了團隊的作用。在課題研究中還充分發揚和體現了創新精神,在課堂設計和任務設置上敢于創新,敢于嘗試,最終形成了自己的特色。

4.通過課題研究,教師自身得到了鍛煉和成長。更深刻的學習理解了《新課程標準》,體驗了現代化教學手段在教學過程中的優勢。領導點滴的肯定堅定了我們深化課題研究、提高教育教學質量的信心和決心。同時我們也體會到了做一名教育工作者,而不是一名教書匠的意義和樂趣,感受到了集體的力量。

九、進一步要研究的問題。

(一)通過探索形成系統、科學、有效的閱讀任務設置模式。

(二)閱讀任務的層次性和梯度。

(三)在閱讀中,獲取大量信息,陶冶情操,提高綜合素質。
