1.一個男生去找教授，教授告訴他在一個field study的waiting list的第一個，男生說他以為去不了所以選了independent study，教授說你可以同時搞，男生很猶豫（這里是重聽題）。接下來教授說有一個教授spring會開一門跟study相關的課他可以去聽。然后問他認不認識另一個男生，他也在waiting list。男生說只知道他們住一棟樓，教授說他的study跟你很相近blablabla（這里有題在topic是什么，還有一個題就是問他們倆有什么共同點）

2.男生剛從field trip 回來，覺得很值，發現人們對環境不總是破壞，很多時候是很好地利用（有題，講人們harvest branch of trees），所以他決定以這個寫論文。之后就在談論論文的內容，然后教授問了一句話“你準備整篇論文都寫這個么？”這里是重聽題，教授接下來說這個assignment的要求是什么什么然后說這個題目很多人研究過。最后男生確定寫native Americans對環境的利用。

3.女生去找staff check 她預定的練舞房，然后staff說活動中心在翻修所有的預定都取消了，6個禮拜后才能好。女生抱怨了一通廢話，然后說他們很急等不了。然后男的就問你們是parents week的活動么？女生說是的，我們跳的舞腳步聲很重要，必須要聽到，但是別的房間都有地毯（有題）。然后男的說我可以給你試試student theatre但是那里通常都滿了（有題）。女生說好啊好啊，另外你能給我們訂校外的排列場么？男的說我只管校內的（這句是重聽）

4.講古埃及一種藝術形式對古希臘和羅馬的影響，因為埃及后來成為了羅馬的一個省所以他的繪畫風格影響了羅馬，例子是一副埃及風格的羅馬人畫像和木乃伊上的面具。大家注意聽里面的時間我只記得有個4 B.C.有題。

5.地球分層，地核，地幔，地殼。地核還分內核跟外核，里面是液體外面是固體。先講了這種分層是如何形成的，開始是一個rocky ball，后來在引力作用下吸收別的物質內部不斷升溫升壓就成了現在的樣子（有題）。還講到了如何探測地內結構，有一種好像是聲波，在開頭提到的，另一種是用drill。兩處都有題

6.又是古羅馬藝術，這次是古羅馬藝術對文藝復興garden的影響，文藝復興的人們努力模仿重現羅馬的建筑風格。資料來自兩個方面，三個人的記錄和一個發明家的各種裝置。

7.鳥和蝙蝠不同的飛行方式。從前的飛機都模仿鳥設計，但是蝙蝠有很多優點。接下來就是比較，主要是兩者翅膀結構的不同，然后引起飛行是air current 不一樣，這里記不太清了。題目里有一道細節搭配題問到這個比較。還有就是教授最后說以后的飛機設計會借鑒蝙蝠的飛行方式，有一道題就是問教授的態度。

8.中國夏商時期的青銅器，很簡單。首先青銅器是用來在spiritual和religious儀式上，日常生活不用（有題），日常生活用陶器。然后一個重要功能是wash因為祭祀中有wash這個環節（有題）。最后說青銅器主要是帝王和貴族用因為青銅象征不朽和個人地位（有題）。最后說道古希臘也很擅長做青銅器（今天的聽力跟古希臘古羅馬干上了）但是跟中國沒法比，中國有古代最大的青銅作坊和工人。

有幾個不同的理論來說猛犸象還是什么的大型動物為啥滅絕。一是說人類捕獵導致，二是說氣候變化導致水食物變少，最后又跳出一個人說在座的都是垃圾，都忽略了重要的一點，生態圈是環環相扣的，每一個小變化都會導致蝴蝶效應，所以是上述理論結合起來的結果，他的理論也彌補了上述理論的不足，比如理論一沒有大量捕殺遺跡來支撐。

2.Economic Decline in Europe during the Fourteenth Century

14世紀歐洲經濟的衰退。首先因為氣溫變低，雖然就低了那么幾度，但是稍微一點溫度的變化都會對農業產生很大的影響，由于氣溫低了影響了農業，農作物產量就會下降，農民的生活就變得很慘，于是就拿不出錢，農業不好，資本又少了。然后因為東亞一個M帝國的崛起，M重視信仰輕視商業，因此歐洲向亞洲的貿易之路就逐漸衰退了，他們開始向大西洋和非洲發展。

3.Olmec culture

在Mesopotamia area 發現了重要的ceremonial sites.東部high lands 有一些sacred precinct。里面重要的art and architecture.Kunze axe的發現幫助確立了這是Olmec culture.一開始發現的時候，研究者就十分確定這屬于Mesopotamia地區，但是因為既不屬于埃及文明也不屬于希臘文明，使得研究者困惑了很長時間其起源。后來結合一系列其它文物的發現證明屬于Olmec 文化。而且我們今天所認為的Maya calendar 其實是Olmec人發明的。Olmec culture存在一套表示文化的consistent code，例如Kunze axe 里面也運用的howling baby’s face 就一直沿用至今天，而期間沒有發生太大的變化。

10.開墾的原因

不是自然氣候變化，而人類是主要原因，文章通過例舉一系列動物數字的滅絕，同時例舉了毛利人以及歐洲人在捕殺動物的一些事實，充分論證人類是物種滅絕最主要的原因。同時最后提到過度捕魚現象，需要引起更多人的重視。開頭介紹了當地的土壤和環境不適合大量作物，但隨著溫度上升等原因，土壤的質置提升，可以種植大量的燕麥。接著提到Natufian人群，有更強的種植和收割植物的能力，同時也學會了在農作物儲存在有利位置，隨著作物的充足，人口也大置激增，人口進行擴張，在此過程中也出現了階級概念，然而有遇到 了干旱問題，他們由原來的hill zone去了 high altitude地區，因為對cereal 非常熟悉，所以也能保證農作物生長。

5.來自geology class，這篇主要講的是seafloor topography，教授說sea surface的研究有很多但seafloor的卻很少，然后開始講人們進行seafloor研究的 歷程，主要講了兩種技術，第一個技術是聲吶技術，它的問題在于調查范圍比較 小，需要很多船才能探測到entire seafloor,這會費力費錢，所以另一種新技術發明了這種新技術雖然可以進行很大范圍的探測但是它探測 的數據缺少details。最后教授說現在的探測要把這兩種技術結合起來，而且目前沒有一種技術能包含這兩種技術的優點。

6.The United States government class，這篇主要講了一種環保技術，這種環保技術早就在美國被發明，發明的原因是有段時間美國遭到了 energy shortage,人們害怕傳統的能源馬 上就要枯竭，于是有一個task就專門研究新能源。這種新能源各方面都很好但有一個問題就是貴，一般人用不起，于是有人提出讓政府大量投資，以至于讓這種能源能便宜下來，還舉了一個例子，意思就是曾經這個東西非常貴然后政府大量的買這些東西使價格下 降，所以那時候的人也想這么干，讓政府投資很多錢，政府不愿意，于是美國總統連一點錢都沒給這個技術，于是這個技術就垮掉了，至今也沒有用的起來。

7.來自astronomy class，這篇主要講了一種star,它們在死的時候(一般會死很長時間）會放出很強的光，教授就討論了為什么它們會放出這么耀眼的光。首先教授指出一般這種luminous star非常大存在于較小的galaxy中而且這些 galaxy很年輕，那些不亮的star存在于較大 較old的galaxy中。然后professor問學生為什么會這樣勒？然后開始回顧star是怎么死的，女生說是因為自身hydrogen和ice water不斷累加什么的，professor說不是，是因為solar wind,它們會將star的hydrogen和ice慢慢消磨，吹向galaxy 中，所以那些老的galaxy就回比較大，年輕的galaxy就會比較小，luminous star就很大而且很亮。

最后教授還說了一個彩蛋，就是這些luminous star太大了，以至于把

5.來自geology class，這篇主要講的是seafloor topography，教授說sea surface的研究有很多但seafloor的卻很少，然后開始講人們進行seafloor研究的歷程，主要講了兩種技術，第一個技術是聲吶技術，它的問題在于調查范圍比較小，需要很多船才能探測到entire seafloor,這會費力費錢，所以另一種新技術發明了這種新技術雖然可以進行很大范圍的探測但是它探測的數據缺少details。最后教授說現在的探測要把這兩種技術結合起來，而且目前沒有一種技術能包含這兩種技術的優點。

6.The United States government class，這篇主要講了一種環保技術，這種環保技術早就在美國被發明，發明的原因是有段時間美國遭到了 energy shortage,人們害怕傳統的能源馬上就要枯竭，于是有一個task就專門研究新能源。這種新能源各方面都很好但有一個問題就是貴，一般人用不起，于是有人提出讓政府大量投資，以至于讓這種能源能便宜下來，還舉了一個例子，意思就是曾經這個東西非常貴然后政府大量的買這些東西使價格下降，所以那時候的人也想這么干，讓政府投資很多錢，政府不愿意，于是美國總統連一點錢都沒給這個技術，于是這個技術就垮掉了，至今也沒有用的起來。

7.來自astronomy class，這篇主要講了一種star,它們在死的時候(一般會死很長時間）會放出很強的光，教授就討論了為什么它們會放出這么耀眼的光。首先教授指出一般這種luminous star非常大存在于較小的galaxy中而且這些 galaxy很年輕，那些不亮的star存在于較大較old的galaxy中。然后professor問學生為什么會這樣勒？然后開始回顧star是怎么死的，女生說是因為自身hydrogen和ice water不斷累加什么的，professor說不是，是因為solar wind,它們會將star的hydrogen和ice慢慢消磨，吹向galaxy 中，所以那些老的galaxy就回比較大，年輕的galaxy就會比較小，luminous star就很大而且很亮。

最后教授還說了一個彩蛋，就是這些luminous star太大了，以至于把 galaxy都遮蓋了，運用普通的天文望遠鏡看不到是否有小的galaxy,于是天文學家用紫外線進行探測。
