5.來自geology class,這篇主要講的是seafloor topography,教授說sea surface的研究有很多但seafloor的卻很少,然后開始講人們進行seafloor研究的 歷程,主要講了兩種技術,第一個技術是聲吶技術,它的問題在于調查范圍比較 小,需要很多船才能探測到entire seafloor,這會費力費錢,所以另一種新技術發明了這種新技術雖然可以進行很大范圍的探測但是它探測 的數據缺少details。最后教授說現在的探測要把這兩種技術結合起來,而且目前沒有一種技術能包含這兩種技術的優點。

6.The United States government class,這篇主要講了一種環保技術,這種環保技術早就在美國被發明,發明的原因是有段時間美國遭到了 energy shortage,人們害怕傳統的能源馬 上就要枯竭,于是有一個task就專門研究新能源。這種新能源各方面都很好但有一個問題就是貴,一般人用不起,于是有人提出讓政府大量投資,以至于讓這種能源能便宜下來,還舉了一個例子,意思就是曾經這個東西非常貴然后政府大量的買這些東西使價格下 降,所以那時候的人也想這么干,讓政府投資很多錢,政府不愿意,于是美國總統連一點錢都沒給這個技術,于是這個技術就垮掉了,至今也沒有用的起來。

7.來自astronomy class,這篇主要講了一種star,它們在死的時候(一般會死很長時間)會放出很強的光,教授就討論了為什么它們會放出這么耀眼的光。首先教授指出一般這種luminous star非常大存在于較小的galaxy中而且這些 galaxy很年輕,那些不亮的star存在于較大 較old的galaxy中。然后professor問學生為什么會這樣勒?然后開始回顧star是怎么死的,女生說是因為自身hydrogen和ice water不斷累加什么的,professor說不是,是因為solar wind,它們會將star的hydrogen和ice慢慢消磨,吹向galaxy 中,所以那些老的galaxy就回比較大,年輕的galaxy就會比較小,luminous star就很大而且很亮。

7.來自astronomy class,這篇主要講了一種star,它們在死的時候(一般會死很長時間)會放出很強的光,教授就討論了為什么它們會放出這么耀眼的光。首先教授指出一般這種luminous star非常大存在于較小的galaxy中而且這些 galaxy很年輕,那些不亮的star存在于較大較old的galaxy中。然后professor問學生為什么會這樣勒?然后開始回顧star是怎么死的,女生說是因為自身hydrogen和ice water不斷累加什么的,professor說不是,是因為solar wind,它們會將star的hydrogen和ice慢慢消磨,吹向galaxy 中,所以那些老的galaxy就回比較大,年輕的galaxy就會比較小,luminous star就很大而且很亮。

最后教授還說了一個彩蛋,就是這些luminous star太大了,以至于把 galaxy都遮蓋了,運用普通的天文望遠鏡看不到是否有小的galaxy,于是天文學家用紫外線進行探測。
