a film review on Mona Lisa Smile Based on the background in 1953-1954 in Wellesley college, the movie seems to a charming picture with a famous women's-only college, smart girls and a delicate school campus, everything has kept well, even though it just looks like how it performs, until a “wonder teacher” graduate from UC Berkeley, Katherine Ann Wasten, come to the school, which is famous for tradition.Certainly, when it comes to this film we can not deny that women's position in the past can always be a hot topic.However, taking current situation about fairness beween males and females into consideration, I still think this theme must be an excellent one as the film not only discuss things in the past but also make audiences resonate, especially females.The plots just always suit everybody to reveal their distinctive characters, in which Katherine is the most out-standing.It seemed that she used her art lessons as a vehicle to put across her opinion to young women that women were not born to become housewives and mothers.Katherine wanted to make a difference and do more things in life rather than solely adopt the roles of wives and mothers.I can never forget, in one scene of the movie, she showed her students four newspaper ads, and asked what future scholars would think of the idea that women were born to be housewives and mothers.The first time I have seen this movie, I have to sign about how satisfactory the movie present to us!Beautiful frame, perfect plot and distinctive characters convey us a real dream just like Mona Lisa Smile.

She is smile, is she happy? 貝蒂問他的媽媽,看到這里,我們可以發(fā)現(xiàn)這個(gè)女孩內(nèi)心的轉(zhuǎn)變。達(dá)芬奇的《蒙娜麗莎的微笑》中的主人公,把永恒的神秘的微笑定格在畫面上,幾個(gè)世紀(jì),我們沈溺于它“83%的高興,9%的厭惡,6%的恐懼,2%的憤怒”中,可是,他真的快樂么,在表象的背后,在她的內(nèi)心里真的開心么。
看完電影,我們不得不說,我們不知道蒙娜麗莎是否真的開心,但是,影片中的那些女孩子,真的擁有了自己的快樂。不是來(lái)源于家庭的恩賜,丈夫的賞識(shí),社會(huì)的贊譽(yù),而是源于自己內(nèi)心的肯定與認(rèn)知,一個(gè)自信、自尊、自愛的女孩子,不管他是不是蒙娜麗莎,他笑起來(lái)都很美。講到這里,我們將它回拉到教育的話題上,影片中,凱瑟琳華森老師將女性進(jìn)步的觀點(diǎn)帶入到了課堂,帶著孩子們,以藝術(shù)為起點(diǎn),重新審視自己審視作為一個(gè)女性的人生觀。這頗有些文藝復(fù)興的味道,只不過,她的影響范圍是小的,在一個(gè)封閉的以婚姻為主的校園里,他只將種子灑向幾個(gè)角落,幸運(yùn)的是,種子發(fā)芽了,在靠自己的力量去生長(zhǎng),身為一個(gè)施教者,它無(wú)疑是成功的。這便是教育的意義。一個(gè)老師,就像一個(gè)播種者,在把自己的思想傳播給下一代,而一個(gè)具有進(jìn)步思想的老師,就像是在一片田野上播種糧食,這里有肥沃的土壤,但是他們世代只生長(zhǎng)著雜草,不僅需要除掉雜草,種上新的種子,還需要在它們生長(zhǎng)的過程中精心照料,防止風(fēng)霜的摧殘。

“Sheis smile ,is she happy ? ”Betty asked her mother, From there ,we can realized the girl’s changes from her inside.The Protagonist of Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa Smile let her eternal and mysterious smile frames on the image.So for centuries, we dwell on its “83%of happiness,9%of disgust,6%of fear and 2%of anger”smile..but behind the surface, is she really happy?
After watching the movie, I have to say, I don’t know whether Mona Lisa is
really happy or not.But the girls in movie finally achieve their happiness.These happiness not from their families’ gift, not from their husbands’recognition, not from the society’s praise.But from their inner affirmation.Everyone who has confident, self-esteem, self-love will own beautiful smile whether of she is Mona Lisa.Now, let us come back to the topic of education.In the movie, Miss Watson brings new opinions of women to these young girls.She leads them to open a new gate, out of the gate, they realized their new values except as a wife or a mother.Her action looks like Renaissance though its influence is small.Fortunately, the seeds she spilled was germinating, they try their hard to grow up.To be a educator, she is successful, and these achievements are educational outcomes.At the end of the film, With Miss Watson’s efforts , she failed to change the thinking of the principals,the parents and the education mechanism, but she let the girls began to rupture the eggshells.By the end of the article, I hope every confident girl will achieve heartfelt smile and said to the world “I am smiling, I am really happy.”

在這所女子學(xué)院,學(xué)生們大多有著良好的家庭背景,受過優(yōu)秀的教育,第一堂課就給凱瑟琳來(lái)了個(gè)下馬威。但是學(xué)院灌輸給學(xué)生們關(guān)于成功的定義卻是嫁一個(gè)好丈夫,她們所學(xué)的一切東西都是為了這個(gè)目的,找一個(gè)好丈夫,為丈夫服務(wù)。于是,凱瑟琳就在這個(gè)保守的環(huán)境里,試著引導(dǎo)學(xué)生們?nèi)ふ艺鎸?shí)的自我,并且大膽去實(shí)踐她們的想法。
但我并不是說當(dāng)好一個(gè)家庭主婦就比當(dāng)個(gè)女強(qiáng)人或女名人差,這就象那蒙娜麗莎的微笑,各人有各人的判斷。我只是希望無(wú)論她們作出何種選擇,都是發(fā)自內(nèi)心的,是自己喜歡的,而不是別的什么強(qiáng)迫她們這樣做。這就是我所理解的婦女解放運(yùn)動(dòng)的實(shí)質(zhì)吧上一評(píng)論。是影射那些生活在傳統(tǒng)社會(huì)中的女性在家里雖然表面上是在微笑,但那并不是他們所追求的,是社會(huì)傳統(tǒng)和社會(huì)價(jià)值觀賦予他們的,她們微笑的背后并不是真正的快樂,所以這微笑有些暖昧和詭意。當(dāng)然,我覺得蒙的微笑是永遠(yuǎn)也無(wú)法說清的主題,There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes.(一千個(gè)觀眾眼中有一千個(gè)哈姆雷特)
蒙娜麗莎究竟在笑什么?直到現(xiàn)在沒人知道。影片最后的許多照片里,許多女性有的在作男人的工作,有的展示女性獨(dú)特的嬌媚體態(tài),有的相夫教子回歸傳統(tǒng)女性工作。只有一點(diǎn)影片說對(duì)了:對(duì)女人來(lái)說,選擇什么樣的道路是她們自己決定的事,并且不要后悔!
情節(jié)比較松散,缺少那種振奮人心的張力。相比,《死亡詩(shī)社》給人的沖擊力更讓人震撼。
一個(gè)都不能少
這個(gè)故事內(nèi)容很簡(jiǎn)單,但著實(shí)讓我感動(dòng)。魏敏芝只是聽到高老師一句口頭囑咐,就把看住孩子當(dāng)成自己必須完成的任務(wù)。誠(chéng)信,執(zhí)著,責(zé)任心強(qiáng),答應(yīng)別人的事情就一定要辦到,哪怕看起來(lái)沒有任何希望,也決不放棄。這種精神在魏敏芝身上體現(xiàn)得淋漓盡致。而這種精神,是當(dāng)今我們生活中逐漸在缺失的東西。
影片讓我感動(dòng)的同時(shí),也讓我對(duì)這個(gè)現(xiàn)實(shí)社會(huì)感到悲觀失望。魏敏芝找張慧科時(shí),多少輛車駛過,沒有一輛停下來(lái),倒是拖拉機(jī)會(huì)停;多少少年為一天兩塊錢在城里勞動(dòng);找人辦事時(shí),哪怕是舉手之勞,總要塞點(diǎn)錢別人才愿意幫忙;電視臺(tái)接待室的阿姨的冷漠無(wú)情和官僚主義;掃大街大娘的冷漠;從電視臺(tái)里步行或推車進(jìn)出的人,就是沒有臺(tái)長(zhǎng);電視臺(tái)只圖收視率;最終解決問題,靠得還是暫時(shí)的好心人微薄的同情,而不是長(zhǎng)期的社會(huì)制度的優(yōu)化。
看完影片后,首先引起我思考的主要是在劇作層面,這就是它的人物動(dòng)機(jī)問題。《一個(gè)都不能少》全片并無(wú)尖銳的矛盾,人物的行動(dòng)也相互離散,并末構(gòu)成餃激烈的沖突。影片的前三分之一,即張惠科進(jìn)城之前,給我的印象挺好。這一部分主要的劇作功能是樹立起幾個(gè)很鮮明的人物性格,環(huán)境的設(shè)置也有較強(qiáng)的視覺陌生感。這種環(huán)境設(shè)置有著豐富的社會(huì)內(nèi)涵,令人深思許多東西。在張惠科離校進(jìn)城以后,本片主人公的動(dòng)作線在于尋找。我感到疑惑的是魏敏芝尋找的動(dòng)機(jī)和編導(dǎo)對(duì)這一主導(dǎo)動(dòng)作的行為動(dòng)機(jī)的處理。我感到這里存在著巨大的闡釋的偏差,這種闡釋的過分離散、漂移是由于敘事上的巨大空洞造成的。魏敏芝進(jìn)城尋找張惠科的動(dòng)機(jī)到底是什么?是為了50元錢還是為了10元錢?魏敏芝踏踏實(shí)實(shí)地當(dāng)—‘L—這鄉(xiāng)村教師是在對(duì)50塊錢的承諾之后。魏敏芝兩次拼命追趕在現(xiàn)代工業(yè)的產(chǎn)品后面,一次是追拖拉機(jī),一次是追汽車。第一次追上拖拉機(jī)之后。她得到了對(duì)代課費(fèi)的承諾。這是一段極重要的臺(tái)詞,影片的片名就出自這段三人對(duì)話。村長(zhǎng)笛應(yīng)會(huì)給她50入代課費(fèi),高老師則說大意如此的話:“這50塊錢,他不給伯;,我給你。但是學(xué)生可得看好了。——個(gè)都不能少。要是——個(gè)都不少,我還給你加10塊錢。”到了后來(lái)張惠科離開學(xué)校進(jìn)城以后,村長(zhǎng)不同意魏敏芝進(jìn)城去找。這就是說魏敏芝不去找也不會(huì)影響她得到村長(zhǎng)答應(yīng)的那50塊錢。那魏敏芝是不是為了得到“一個(gè)都不能少”的差價(jià),即高老師答應(yīng)外加的那10塊錢呢?抑或她是覺得只有高老師才會(huì)給她60塊餞?影片刻意地避開了這一動(dòng)機(jī)的解釋。而這一動(dòng)機(jī)支配
著人物在影片后面約三分之二部分的行動(dòng)。
叨能足銳敏乏目己忘記了。她在做事的過程中把自己原先來(lái)代課時(shí)的目的忘了,在做好事的過程中自己的行為異化了,自己的追求升華了,自己的人格高尚了。在影片的后半部分魏敏芝自己也不清楚自己這樣做是要得到什么。這是本片可能有的最好的一個(gè)藝術(shù)方向,即人物在合理利己的出發(fā)點(diǎn)上又超越了自己的現(xiàn)實(shí)功利考慮,這也是許多藝術(shù)作品發(fā)展人物的方向。但本片好像并沒有這樣寫。影片的后半段,編導(dǎo)讓人物在自己堅(jiān)實(shí)的立足點(diǎn)上滑走了。魏敏芝變得似乎堅(jiān)定行動(dòng)而不知所為,勇往直前而不知為何。從故事編排看,張藝謀并沒有寫魏敏芝行為的無(wú)意識(shí)轉(zhuǎn)變。因?yàn)槲艺J(rèn)為如果那樣寫好像缺幾筆,缺的是魏敏芝與張惠科的更緊密的關(guān)系建立。如果魏敏芝后來(lái)進(jìn)城尋找不是為了錢,可以寫成魏敏芝與張惠科之間有了一種較上勁的關(guān)系。這樣寫于魏敏芝的那種一根筋式的性格也是有依據(jù)的。或者,編導(dǎo)可以寫成魏敏芝在教學(xué)生的過程中對(duì)張惠科產(chǎn)生了同情和關(guān)心,她的行為目的由敷衍了事、看住學(xué)生、掙得60元錢變成了高尚的目的:救助張惠科、啟蒙張惠科。可是現(xiàn)在我看到的影片在動(dòng)機(jī)設(shè)計(jì)1:似乎幾種考慮都有,但有幾種考慮都沒有寫通、寫透。所以,許多評(píng)論者和觀眾的疑惑不解是很自然的。

這是電影的開頭,衛(wèi)斯理大學(xué)開學(xué)典禮的一個(gè)儀式,由優(yōu)秀的學(xué)生——貝蒂敲開禮堂大門并與校長(zhǎng)的對(duì)話。儀式對(duì)于我們來(lái)說可謂新穎形象生動(dòng),也覺得學(xué)校便是“將我的一生獻(xiàn)給知識(shí)”、傳遞知識(shí)的地方,可是接下來(lái)的故事讓人感到啼笑皆非,轉(zhuǎn)移思考又覺得可以理解。
故事發(fā)生在20世紀(jì)50年代的美國(guó),此時(shí)女性地位雖然已有所提高,但是傳統(tǒng)的上層封建思想依然非常嚴(yán)重。保守的衛(wèi)斯理女子學(xué)院儼然是其中的典范。學(xué)生們擁有顯赫的家世,優(yōu)秀的藝術(shù)素養(yǎng),聰明高智慧的頭腦。她們的禮儀完美無(wú)缺,可以隨心所欲的演奏世界名曲,輕易記得課本中的內(nèi)容,可是這些優(yōu)秀的女孩在這高等學(xué)府的目的只為將來(lái)不久的婚姻生活相夫教子。學(xué)校儼然成了“婚前妻子培訓(xùn)班”!然而主人公——“激進(jìn)前衛(wèi)”的凱瑟琳的到來(lái)激起了傳統(tǒng)的漣漪。主人公帶著她那美麗的笑容,“培養(yǎng)國(guó)家領(lǐng)袖者”的美好教育理想走進(jìn)了這個(gè)學(xué)院。這些她還沒來(lái)得及認(rèn)識(shí)的孩子們讓她震驚,震驚的不只是她們的才華,震驚的更是她們的思想。她作為一名藝術(shù)歷史老師,不僅在專業(yè)知識(shí)領(lǐng)域里讓她們“大開眼界,發(fā)散思維”。更用她的勇氣和智慧讓她們敞開心扉,回歸心靈的選擇。并讓這群學(xué)生重新審視自己的世界觀和價(jià)值觀。她堅(jiān)定地告訴她們“不,這不是你們想要的,你們可以做得更好,找回自己”,她的勇氣激勵(lì)了她們,更讓我們敬佩。可是,凱瑟琳老師也嘗到了現(xiàn)實(shí)的力量,她感受到學(xué)生的挑戰(zhàn)和學(xué)校的各種壓力,但是她并沒有放棄,不僅僅是不放棄自己的教育,更不會(huì)放棄對(duì)學(xué)生的關(guān)注,于是,她沒有像其他老師那樣沿襲學(xué)校一貫的教學(xué)做法和風(fēng)格,而是根據(jù)自己的判斷和教學(xué)的方法,使得這些“心意”的教法讓學(xué)生們“睜大了眼睛”。并且,她還鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生們挖掘自己的興趣,實(shí)踐她們的才能。于是她和她的學(xué)生一起在傳統(tǒng)和理想中掙扎,解脫。最后,當(dāng)學(xué)生們騎著單車,追著跑著來(lái)跟她道別時(shí),我們知道,她勝利了,她得到了這群學(xué)生的理解和愛戴。特別喜歡的一個(gè)角色——優(yōu)秀的貝蒂,一直被母親嚴(yán)格教育遵守妻子教條,在結(jié)婚后卻面臨婚姻的種種問題,深深的壓抑后便是爆發(fā),最后勇敢地提出離婚,過自己想過的生活。這個(gè)過程中她慢慢受到老師凱瑟琳的影響,由原來(lái)的抵制老師到后來(lái)的提倡追求老師的思想,追求自由。這不可謂不是凱瑟琳的成功之處。
這是一部很干凈利落的電影,沒有多余的畫面,驚飛的鴿,極致的靜謐,沸騰的喧囂,幻燈的切換,暗藏玄機(jī)的眼神,壓抑的神情,每一個(gè)人物都在用最少的表演,傳遞最深的情感。電影中有幾處讓我落淚了,其中一個(gè)是凱瑟琳的一堂課。在那堂課中,她很憤怒,禁止學(xué)生發(fā)表,然后說出她心中的感慨。我感受到了凱瑟琳的無(wú)奈,傳統(tǒng)的一些東西想要改變真的很難很難,不過好在凱瑟琳并沒有放棄。還有一個(gè)地方是結(jié)局處,她的學(xué)生騎車追著凱瑟琳,雖然凱瑟琳最終離開了衛(wèi)斯理,但她成功了,她確實(shí)改變了孩子們學(xué)習(xí)只是為了相夫教子的想法。
看完電影,我依然不明白這部電影為什么叫《蒙娜麗莎的微笑》,也許講的是主人公或無(wú)奈或欣慰或勇敢的微笑,但我學(xué)到了在自己的人生里,要學(xué)會(huì)獨(dú)立、思考,要知道自己真正要的是什么。

The story took pace in 1953, when the second women's liberation gradually arisen.However, some educational institution in American, expecially Wellesley College, the most conservative college in the nation, still tenaciously performed the mission that male society endowed: to cultivate women with both moral integrity and professional competence.When Katherine Watson, a first –year teacher from Oakland State, who always sought truth beyond tradition, got a position in the Art History department in Wellesley College, contradiction between her feminist thought and students under the influence of male chauvinism was stirring.Most of students in Wellesley College were well educated with fine family background.They gave Katherine a caution in the first class.In their mind, the definition of success was to marry a good man and the role they born to fill was to be a good wife.In this conservative situation, Katherine tried to open her students’ mind to do whatever they want.She encouraged her students to be themselves, to become professionals in field they loved, to improve their economic futures.It seemed that she used her art teaching as a vehicle to put across her opinion to the young women that women were not born to become housewives and mothers.Katherine wanted to make a difference and do more things in life rather than solely adopt the roles of wives and mothers.I can never forget she showed her students carcass by Soutine 1925, and said, “There’s also no textbook telling you what to think”.In those girls opinion, the carcass can not be called art;“there is something aggressive about it and erotic”.I asked myself, what is art? Can a conservative artist become a successful artist? I can never forget, in one scene of the movie, she showed her students four newspaper ads, and asked what future scholars would think of the idea that women were born to be housewives and mothers.From her tearful eyes, I can see indignation, perplexity, and helplessness.I can never forget she introduced Van Gogh, who refused to conform his ideals to popular taste, who refused to compromise his integrity, to her backward-looking students.When Van Gogh alived, no one thought Sunflower was a art, but after his idioctonia, the Sunflower became world-famous.Katherine was just like another Sunflower, who was resisted by standpatter.If she was not tenacious enough, she would be strangled.There was no doubt that Katherine’s ways of teaching were contrary to school’s directors, who believed firmly that Katherine should just teach art instead of using class to spread her point of view.The conservative headmistress warned Katherine she would lose her job if she not change herselve to fit in Wellesley.There were numerous unreasonable pacts in Katherine new contract, including “you can teach only the syllabus as outlined by the department;all lesson plans must be submitted at the beginning of every term for approve and revision;you shall not provide counsel beyond her own subject for any student at any time;you will agreee to maintain a stricty professional relationship with all members of the faculty”.Katherine choosed to leave finially, but her independent, creativeness, adamancy, and loving heart indeed made a difference.It was Katherine that helped students in Wellesley College shake off the yoke of traditional Feudalism.I am happy to see that Betty marched toward her own life bravely, and no longer was in the charge of her mother.Katherine lelt Wellesley College with smile, which was so warm that affected many people, including me.Eight years ago, I have a good friend named Lucy, whose family ties always made her somber.Her father had sweetheart ectad and hadly went home.When he return home, there must be a drastic war.Her poor mother always grined and beared it.I had ever asked Lucy’s mother why she didn’t get a divorce.In fact, she could live a happy life independently.She had a good job with high income and had no need relying on her husband.She said she could bear any grievance as long as Lucy had a integrated famiy.When I was young, I regarded her as a great mother for her spirt of sacrifice.However, when I grew up little by little, I realized that her sacrifice was meaningless.It is no good to have a home which exists in name only.It brought to children only agony rather than happiness.Lucy was driven to terrible depressive illness and hardly communicate with any one, expecially her mother.It was Lucy’s mother’s sacrifice and forbearance that ruin Lucy and herself happiness.Last winter vacation, I visit Lucy and her mother.Lucy had discontinued her studies due to her depressive illness, although had ever been a top student.Her mother, who was ever a beautiful women with professional competence, had lost job and became more decrepit than women in her group of age.How can a mother, who always inhibit her desire to seek happy life, bring up a mentally health child? How can a child cultivited a healthy mind educated by a unbalanced and painful mother? How can a person who not loves herself loves others? How can a women who dares not be herself becomes succeful? In fact, the tragedy is inevitable owing to Lucy’s Mother’s traditional thought.Women are never inferior compared with men.They are not appendage of men, although the story that Adam’s rib created Eve are still widely circulated.We have right to do what we want, to seek freedom, happiness, success.What we need is independent personality rather than blind forbearance.I don’t mean being a housewife was bad than being a able women or famous women.I only hope that whatever choice we had made, we are always loyal to our mind, rather than other thing forces us to make decision.Like Joan, although she finally gave up enterprise and chosen family, can we say she was incorrect or unsuccessful? Everyone has right to chossen their own road.Live our lives by our own definition, and this is life.
