一、課程性質、地位和作用

《英語精讀》是英語教育專業的專業基礎課,也是英語教育專業的必修課程。屬A類(理論)課程。本課程是一門綜合英語技能課,其主要目的在于培養和提高學生綜合運用英語的能力。該門課程是英語教育專業的主干課程,在本專業課程體系中居于重要地位。

二、課程教學對象、目的和要求

本課程適用于高等學校英語教育專業的專科學生。本課程主要通過語言基礎訓練與篇章講解分析,使學生逐步提高語篇閱讀理解能力,了解英語各種文體的表達方式和特點,擴大詞匯量和熟悉英語常用句型,具備基本的口頭與筆頭表達能力。

學習本課程,學生是在已初步掌握一定的英語詞匯、語音、語法基本知識和聽、說、讀、寫基本技能的基礎上進行的,目的是進一步提高綜合運用英語的能力,特別是要加強口筆頭語言表達能力,同時加深對詞匯、語法、寫作、修辭等方面的知識,為適應走向社會和進一步接受英語教育打下全面的牢固的基礎。

本課程以課文教學為中心,采用精講多練、講練結合的方式,課堂教學注意歸納,演繹并用,以歸納為主,演繹為輔。講課中注意知識的層層遞進,具有連續性,語言點突出,講解清晰準確,通過典型例句解釋語言現象。啟發學生學習語言的積極性和自覺性,鼓勵學生開動腦筋,大膽地以各種表述來表達同一個語句,鍛煉學生用英語思維的能力。

學習本課程前的相關課程包括:初高中基礎知識(基本語法,2100左右的詞匯量)學好本課程,能為學生其它專業課的學習打下良好的基礎。

本課程理論教學總時數為 268學時。
