i am here to announce my retirement from the game of basketball.it won’t be another announcement to

baseball or anything to that nature.mentally, i’m exhausted, i don’t feel i have a challenge.physically, i feel great.the last time in 1993 i had other agendas.i felt that i wanted to play baseball and i felt that at my age, it was a good opportunity and time to do it.and with the death of my father, and i was basically trying to deal with that.actually i talked to jerry last year once the season ended and i told jerry at that time, mentally, i was a little exhausted.i didn’t know if i would play next year.i wanted to put him on awareness so that he could possibly prepare going into next season.and jerry, once we had our conversation, wanted me to take time as i did in 93 to make sure that it was the right decision because it was going to be the final decision.i retired the first time when phil jackson was the coach.and i think that

even with phil being the coach i would have had a tough time, mentally finding the challenge for myself.although he can somehow present challenges for me.i don’t know if he could have presented the challenge for me to continue on to this season.” even though middle way of this season i wanted to continue to play a couple more years, but at the end of this season i was mentally drained and tired.so i can’t say that he would have restored that.i will support the chicago bulls.i think the game itself is a lot bigger than michael jordan.i’ve been given an opportunity by people before me, to name a few, kareem abdul jabbar, doctor j, eljohn baylor, jerry west.these guys played the game way before michael jordan was born and michael jordan came on the heels of all that activity.mr stern and what he’s done for the league, gave me an opportunity to play the game of

basketball.i played it to the best i could play it, i tried to enhance the game itself.i’ve tried to be the best basketball player that i could be.新兵階段主要是給你養成一個士兵的習慣，平時主要就是疊被子整內務，學習條令，政治教育，軍事訓練呢就是：隊列訓練，基本的單兵戰術動作，基礎射擊，投擲手榴彈，基礎體能訓練等科目，考核主要是軍事課目，要考步槍射擊，手榴彈實彈投擲，隊列動作，單兵戰術動作，體能呢主要包括：3公里跑，100米，立定跳遠，雙腿深蹲，仰臥起坐、俯臥撐等，這個體能標準各地區，各部隊不一樣有的部隊要求標準更高一些，有的要求更低些，但肯定對新兵標準都不用很高，我看普通人稍微訓練下都能過，只要你不是大胖子。考核不及格也不會把你怎么樣，還是會把你分到連隊，絕對不會因為這個退兵，到連隊后才會是真正的當兵生活，訓練才更加正規，要求和科目都會提高和增多，武裝五公

里、400米障礙、野營拉練、實兵演習、外訓、冬季適應性訓練、分業訓練都是到連隊后才有的

不要把當兵想的那么復雜，現在部隊環境也已經改變很多，軍事訓練也有人性化管理，不會說魔鬼式的訓練，老兵、干部打兵罵兵的情況也基本杜絕，而且民主渠道，部隊現在是很暢通的，如果有問題隨時可以舉報，因為舉報電話有的就在宿舍的墻上，一般都是團長、師長的，所以這點你放心

人總是要走向社會的，一個人不可能總在父母的保護下，也不可能被人養一輩子，我個人覺得從學生轉換到部隊的戰士，在轉換到你工作的崗位，這條路還是不錯的，因為學校是最純潔的，沒有太多社會的復雜，部隊呢，是小社會，當然就復雜些，但是絕對沒有現今地方社會的如此復雜。所以說就人生的路來說，這么走是不錯了。

todayis an important day for me.it is a day of special significance for both mypast professional career and future endeavors.atthe end of last year, i once again had a stress fracture in my left foot andhad to sit out of basketball.since then, like many friends who cared about me,i waited and hoped that i could return.it was also a frustrating period, manythoughts crossed my mind.today, i am ready to announce to everyone mydecision: i will end my athletic career and formally retire from the game ofbasketball.atthis moment, looking towards the future and looking back through the past, myheart is full of gratitude.firstand foremost, i want to thank the game of basketball.this great sport

hasbrought joy to untold numbers of people, including myself.when i was fouryears old, i got my first basketball.at nine, i entered a youth sports schoolin xuhui district.i joined the shanghai junior team at 14.and when i was 16 years old, i put onmy dad’s former number, and joined the shanghai sharks senior team incompetition.basketball has allowed me to follow in my family’s footsteps.wheneveri see the joy and satisfaction in my parents’ eyes, i feel a strong sense ofpride.i was also fortunate to win a cba championship with my teammates for thecity of shanghaiin 2014.from that moment on, basketball has connected me with this great city.during that same year, i entered the nba.basketball has led me to a bigger andbroader stage to showcase my abilities.it’s a dream for many to play for thenational team.so in fulfilling my dream, i am especially grateful of theopportunity

今天對我來說是一個重要的日子，無論是對我以往的籃球職業生涯，還是未來的個人發展，都具有特殊的意義。

去年年底，我的左腳第三次應力性骨折，我不得不離開賽場。半年多以來，和許多關心我的朋友一樣，我也是在漫長的期待當中度過的。這段時間里，內心十分糾結，反復思考。為此，今天我要宣布一個個人決定：作為籃球運動員，我將結束自己的運動生涯，正式退役。

此時此刻，回顧過去，展望未來，我的內心充滿感激。

我首先要感謝籃球。這項偉大的運動為無數人帶來了快樂，當然也包括我自己。四歲我有了第一個籃球，九歲進入徐匯區少體校，十四歲進入上海青年

隊，十六歲背上父親當年的號碼，代表上海隊比賽。籃球使我延續了家庭的傳承，每每看到父母欣慰的眼神，我都無比自豪;也非常幸運能和上海大鯊魚隊的隊友們一起為上海贏得了一次cba總冠軍。從那時起，籃

球把我和身后這座城市聯系在了一起;同樣在cba奪冠的2014年，我進入nba，籃球引領我步入了一個更寬廣的舞臺，使我可以盡情地展現自己;更要感謝能有機會為中國國家隊戰十年，那是無數青年人的夢想;同時因為籃球，與心愛的人結緣，建立了美滿的家庭，獲得了一生的幸福。所有這些，都是我無比熱愛的籃球運動帶給我的，我要感謝籃球。

Good afternoon!

Todayis an important day for me.It is a day of special significance for both mypast professional career and future endeavors.Atthe end of last year, I once again had a stress fracture in my left foot andhad to sit out of basketball.Since then, like many friends who cared about me,I waited and hoped that I could return.It was also a frustrating period, manythoughts crossed my mind.Today, I am ready to announce to everyone mydecision: I will end my athletic career and formally retire from the game ofbasketball.Atthis moment, looking towards the future and looking back through the past, myheart is full of gratitude.Firstand foremost, I want to thank the game of basketball.This great sport hasbrought joy to untold numbers of people, including myself.When I was fouryears old, I got my first basketball.At nine, I entered a youth sports schoolin Xuhui district(in Shanghai).I joined the Shanghai Junior Team at 14.And when I was 16 years old, I put onmy dad’s former number, and joined the Shanghai Sharks senior team incompetition.Basketball has allowed me to follow in my family’s footsteps.WheneverI see the joy and satisfaction in my parents’ eyes, I feel a strong sense ofpride.I was also fortunate to win a CBA Championship with my teammates for thecity of Shanghaiin 2002.From that moment on, basketball has connected me with this great city.During that same year, I entered the NBA.Basketball has led me to a bigger andbroader stage to showcase my abilities.It’s a dream for many to play for theNational Team.So in fulfilling my dream, I am especially grateful of theopportunity to play for my country for so many years.And because ofbasketball, I have found the love of my life Ye Li, and a lifetime ofhappiness.Basketball has given me so much and for this, I want to thank thegame of basketball.Ialso want to thank life.No matter if it’s my beloved basketball or otherendeavors.It is all just a part of life.I believe life is like a guide.Ifyou follow him faithfully, he will open doors to wonderful worlds for you.Today, I am retired from basketball, and one of those doors is closed.Butelsewhere, another door is opening and outside that door is a new world waitingfor me to experience and explore。

各位領導，各位來賓，新聞界的朋友們：

大家好，感謝大家的光臨。

今天對我來說是一個重要的日子，無論是對我以往的籃球職業生涯，還是未來的個人發展，都具有特殊的意義。

去年年底，我的左腳第三次應力性骨折，我不得不離開賽場。半年多以來，和許多關心我的朋友一樣，我也是在漫長的期待當中度過的。這段時間里，內心十分糾結，反復思考。為此，今天我要宣布一個個人決定：作為籃球運動員，我將結束自己的運動生涯，正式退役。

此時此刻，回顧過去，展望未來，我的內心充滿感激。

我首先要感謝籃球。這項偉大的運動為無數人帶來了快樂，當然也包括我自己。四歲我有了第一個籃球，九歲進入徐匯區少體校，十四歲進入上海青年隊，十六歲背上父親當年的號碼，代表上海隊比賽。籃球使我延續了家庭的傳承，每每看到父母欣慰的眼神，我都無比自豪;也非常幸運能和上海大鯊魚隊的隊友們一起為上海贏得了一次CBA總冠軍。從那時起，籃

球把我和身后這座城市聯系在了一起;同樣在CBA奪冠的2002年，我進入NBA，籃球引領我步入了一個更寬廣的舞臺，使我可以盡情地展現自己;更要感謝能有機會為中國國家隊戰十年，那是無數青年人的夢想;同時因為籃球，與心愛的人結緣，建立了美滿的家庭，獲得了一生的幸福。所有這些，都是我無比熱愛的籃球運動帶給我的，我要感謝籃球。

我還要感謝生活。無論我所熱愛的籃球，還是別的什么東西，都是生活的一部分。我覺得生活就像一個向導，你虔誠地追隨他，他就會為你打開一扇又一扇的門，而門外的世界各不相同，無比精彩。今天我退役了，一扇門已經關上，而另一扇門卻正在徐徐開啟，而門外有嶄新的生活正在等著我去認真品讀。

我雖然離開了賽場，但我不會離開籃球。上海東方大鯊魚籃球隊，將就是我籃球生涯的延續，我正在學習用我的方式管理俱樂部，以這種方式繼續為家鄉帶來榮譽，為球迷帶來快樂，為中國籃球繼續做貢獻。

我將繼續投身社會公益事業，“姚基金”是我個人的基金會，已經成立三年了，接下來我會以此為依托，影響更多的人參與慈善事業，幫助更多的人。同時，我希望結識更多的朋友，一起做些共同喜歡的事情。相信在和各行各業的有識之士的交往中，我會學到更多的東西。豐富多彩的生活引領著我從上海走向了全國，從中國走向了世界，所以我要感謝生活。今后，唯有認真對待他，才是對生活最好的回報。

最后，我要感謝我的親人，感謝所有的朋友。我這里有一份長長的名單，但由于時間的原因，不能一一提及。只能選讀其中的代表，還望朋友們多多諒解。我首先感謝的是我的家人，父親、母親是我人生的啟蒙者，葉莉是我最好的傾聽者，而可愛的姚沁蕾則是我們新的希望。

我還要感謝我的教練們，是他們教育培養了我，見證了我每一步的成長，其中有我的啟蒙教練李章明指導，我在上海大鯊魚隊的教練李秋平指導、王群指導、王重光指導，我在國家青年隊的主教練馬連保指導，以及我在國家隊的歷任主教練王非指導、蔣興權指導、以及哈里斯和尤納斯，還有我在火箭隊的歷任主教練湯姆賈諾維奇、范甘迪、阿德爾曼，教練Tom Tip?。我要感謝各位領導，特別是國家體育總局、上海市、中國籃協、上海市體育局以及上海文廣集團和原上海東方籃球俱樂部的各級領導，他們的關心、關注、支持和鼓勵，使我不斷進步，取得了今天的成績。我要感謝NBA和休斯頓火箭隊的管理層，他們的理解和支持幫助我克服了語言和文化的障礙，可以在世界最高水平的聯賽當中站穩腳跟。

接下來我要感謝我的隊友和對手們，首先是劉煒，我們并肩成長，一起打拼，這段共同的經歷是我最珍視的人生片段，還有大郅和奧尼爾，他們是我追趕的目標與前進的動力，沒有他們，我就不是今天的我;還有范斌，他是我國家隊的良師益友，還有沈巍、賈效忠、章文琪、李楠、巴特爾、易建聯、弗朗西斯、莫布里、麥蒂、巴蒂爾，穆托姆博、海耶斯、斯科拉、布魯克斯和洛里以及所有和我一起在徐匯區業余體校、上海青年隊、上海大鯊魚、休斯頓火箭隊、國青男籃、國家男籃一起奮斗過的隊友們，還有在CBA和NBA同場比賽過的對手們，一起揮汗如雨的日子永遠令人難忘。

當然，要感謝的還有我的管理團隊-----“姚之隊”，感謝章明基、陸浩、約翰· 海遜格、比爾·達菲、比爾·桑德斯、李璐、伊朗納和張弛，以及現在還在臺前幕后忙碌的成員們!多年來，你們幫我做了很多事情，我不會忘記。
