英語(yǔ)測(cè)試是英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的一個(gè)重要組成部分,它可以用來(lái)了解、檢查和鑒定學(xué)習(xí)者掌握英語(yǔ)的實(shí)際水平。而一年一度的中考,更是如此,它不僅可以評(píng)定學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)成績(jī),了解學(xué)生掌握英語(yǔ)的實(shí)際水平,更是考核、選拔各類人才的一種重要手段和方法。近幾年來(lái),由于中考試卷是兩考(畢業(yè)考和升學(xué)考)合一,既要讓大部分考生通過(guò)考試,又要讓部分優(yōu)秀學(xué)生脫穎而出,試題中肯定會(huì)出現(xiàn)一些稍難和較難的題目,運(yùn)用完形填空、閱讀理解可考察學(xué)生閱讀能力、綜合分析能力和運(yùn)用語(yǔ)言知識(shí)的實(shí)際能力。另外,從每年中考試卷抽樣調(diào)查顯示,完形填空和閱讀理解是學(xué)生得分率最低的,為什么會(huì)出現(xiàn)這種情況呢?下面就完形填空這一塊談?wù)劚救说囊恍┮娊狻?/p>
一、學(xué)生閱讀水平,理解能力差
“完形填空”題不同于“單項(xiàng)選擇填空”題,它所給的是一篇意思完整的短文,在短文中刪去若干詞,讓學(xué)生根據(jù)上下文填入適當(dāng)?shù)脑~。為了有助于學(xué)生答題,它
提供了四個(gè)答案(其中包括一個(gè)正確答案),讓學(xué)生挑選出正確的一個(gè),因此完形填空首先是閱讀理解。學(xué)生們?cè)谧鐾晷翁羁疹}時(shí),必須先通讀短文,了解其大意后方可動(dòng)筆。但有一大部分學(xué)生在未看懂文章,未了解全文的意思,便急于動(dòng)筆。為什么會(huì)這樣呢?一部分學(xué)生是因?yàn)榕龅缴~,認(rèn)為這篇文章很難,沒(méi)信心看下去,便亂做一通;一部分學(xué)生單詞都認(rèn)識(shí),而這些單詞組成一篇文章,他們就看不懂;還有一些學(xué)生未能正確地把握好表現(xiàn)文章內(nèi)容的關(guān)鍵詞或中心句,不知文章所云或把文章意思看反了,歸根到底是學(xué)生閱讀水平,理解能力差。

如果學(xué)生看不懂這篇文章,或?qū)@篇文章一知半解,就很難正確完成此題。作為一名中學(xué)教師,在平時(shí)應(yīng)注重培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的閱讀能力,尤其是在英語(yǔ)閱讀教學(xué)上,不要一味地以語(yǔ)法為主,一味追求字、詞、句和結(jié)構(gòu)的精講,使原本完整的語(yǔ)篇顯得支離破碎。應(yīng)側(cè)重于文章句子與句子之間,段落與段落之間的層次關(guān)系以及段落之間的思維邏輯方面與語(yǔ)言形式方面的內(nèi)在聯(lián)系,課外要讓學(xué)生多讀一些閱讀材料。每個(gè)學(xué)生可根據(jù)自己的興趣選擇閱讀材料,教師也可以訂一些適合學(xué)生課外閱讀的英語(yǔ)叢書供學(xué)生選讀。另外,為了培養(yǎng)學(xué)生良好的閱讀習(xí)慣,教師可以告訴學(xué)生,文章中所出現(xiàn)的生詞,學(xué)生可根據(jù)上下文進(jìn)行“猜詞”或查閱詞典。通過(guò)大量閱讀,不僅使學(xué)生獲取信息,吸取豐富的語(yǔ)言知識(shí),擴(kuò)大詞匯量,還可提高學(xué)生閱讀速度,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的思維能力,分析能力和理解能力,有效地提高運(yùn)用語(yǔ)言的能力。
二、學(xué)生對(duì)詞法,句法和句型等語(yǔ)法知識(shí)掌握不好
完形填空要求學(xué)生運(yùn)用自己學(xué)過(guò)的詞匯和語(yǔ)法知識(shí),處理好每個(gè)單句,并且還要處理好單句之間與全文之間的內(nèi)在關(guān)系,一般情況下,“完形填空”題要求學(xué)生填入的詞主要有:構(gòu)成各種時(shí)態(tài)、語(yǔ)態(tài)和用法區(qū)別的動(dòng)詞及短語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞;名詞和介詞;根據(jù)上下文意思及結(jié)構(gòu)必須填入的形容詞、副詞、代詞和連詞;同義詞、近義詞等易混詞。考查以實(shí)詞為主,兼顧虛詞和語(yǔ)法結(jié)構(gòu),有些學(xué)生平時(shí)基礎(chǔ)知識(shí)不夠扎實(shí),對(duì)這些語(yǔ)法知識(shí)掌握又不好,也造成了完形填空得分率低。

第一題所給的四個(gè)選項(xiàng)是一組同義詞,都可以表示“穿”,但它們?cè)谟梅ㄉ嫌兴煌ear和have
on都可接“衣物”作賓語(yǔ),意為“穿著”表示狀態(tài),put
on也可接“衣物”作賓語(yǔ),意為“穿上”,表示動(dòng)作,而dress的賓語(yǔ)只能是人,而不能是衣物,根據(jù)以上分析,再結(jié)合原句的意思,可以確定正確答案為D,如果學(xué)生沒(méi)有掌握好這四個(gè)同義詞的用法及它們之間的區(qū)別,就很難做對(duì)。
第二題是一習(xí)慣用語(yǔ),表示“在去??的路上”英語(yǔ)中有“on one’s way to??”而by、at、in
都不能用在該短評(píng)中,故應(yīng)選A項(xiàng)。因此平時(shí),我們?cè)诮虒W(xué)過(guò)程中,對(duì)詞語(yǔ)的固定搭配,語(yǔ)言的習(xí)慣表達(dá),句型結(jié)構(gòu)等都應(yīng)重視。
三、學(xué)生綜合分析能力和運(yùn)用語(yǔ)言知識(shí)的實(shí)踐能力比較差
完形填空不但要考查學(xué)生對(duì)詞法、句法和句型等語(yǔ)法知識(shí)而且還要考查學(xué)生的分析能力、邏輯推斷能力,語(yǔ)言知識(shí)的綜合運(yùn)用能力,有時(shí),把一個(gè)詞填在某個(gè)獨(dú)立的句子中,可能是通順的。但從文章角度看,填入這個(gè)詞,便可能與文章的主題大相徑庭了。因此,學(xué)生在做題時(shí),要善于發(fā)現(xiàn)和利用文中的信息句,善于從字里行間中尋求啟示。雖然在做完形填空題時(shí),很多詞與詞,句與句之間都是有一定語(yǔ)法關(guān)系和固定詞語(yǔ)的搭配而聯(lián)系在一起的,但有些還得根據(jù)上下文的語(yǔ)意來(lái)選擇與前后句有聯(lián)系的名詞、介詞、動(dòng)詞、形容詞或副詞等。
例如③:
Mr.Brown began to walk at 8 in the morning.Now the sun wasabout to set.He was tired and hungry.He was walking slowlytowards the ____ and his shadow(影子)lay long behind him.Hehad to look for a place for a place for the night.A.east B.west C.south D.north
此題所給的選項(xiàng)的四個(gè)表示方向的名詞,均可和前面的介詞“towards”搭配,很難判斷哪一個(gè)正確答案。因此只有運(yùn)用邏輯推理的方法才能判斷該答案。根據(jù)上文的“太陽(yáng)就要落山了”判斷此時(shí)應(yīng)為下午,太陽(yáng)是在西方。再根據(jù)下文的“他的影子長(zhǎng)長(zhǎng)地拖在后面。”可以推出,此時(shí)布朗先生正朝西方慢慢地走著,故選B。因此,我們?cè)谝髮W(xué)生多歸納常用句型,熟記習(xí)慣用語(yǔ)和固定搭配,掌握詞法句型的同時(shí),還應(yīng)注意培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的邏輯思維能力和綜合運(yùn)用語(yǔ)言的能力。
下面以寧波市2000年初中畢業(yè),升學(xué)考試英語(yǔ)的完形填空來(lái)實(shí)例分析一下。

這篇完形填空通過(guò)對(duì)詞法、句法、語(yǔ)義、上下文連貫、邏輯推理等方面,多角度的考查來(lái)檢查學(xué)生對(duì)語(yǔ)篇的理解能力和綜合運(yùn)用語(yǔ)言的能力。
首先通讀全文,了解文章的大致意思,從文章的開頭就可知道作者在倫敦呆了三年,非常想要回家鄉(xiāng),原來(lái)不喜歡呆在倫敦這座城市,而要離開的時(shí)候,卻有點(diǎn)舍不得了。了解了文章的大意后,便可逐題解答。
1.該題在2000年中考考試中得分率為0.65,既考查學(xué)生對(duì)詞法的掌握情況,又考查學(xué)生的分析能力。該題所給的四個(gè)選項(xiàng)均可和后面的動(dòng)名詞staying搭配,很難判斷哪個(gè)正確,只有通過(guò)上下文意思才可判斷出,根據(jù)上文during
the time I was staying there,my strong wish was to go back
home和下文的staying in the city I didn’t know very well可看出作者在倫敦期間,他的強(qiáng)烈愿望是要回家,而不愿呆在倫敦,故該題答案為 A instead of。
2.該題中考得分率為0.8,主要考查學(xué)生對(duì)上下文的理解能力。四個(gè)選項(xiàng)均為連詞,但從下文When the day came for my leaving, I had a strong
feeling和I was for the first time not sure whether I reallywished to go與前文my strong wish was to go back home形成反差,故選C but
表轉(zhuǎn)折。
3.該題中考得分率為0.8,主要考查學(xué)生對(duì)詞語(yǔ)的固定搭配掌握情況。作者腦子里充滿了倫敦的景象。full of 充滿、裝滿,答案為D。
4.該題中考得分率為0.75,主要考查學(xué)生對(duì)該文上下文連貫,理解能力。
根據(jù)上文Most important of all,I didn’t want to go。
可看出作者不僅對(duì)倫敦這座城市依依不舍,對(duì)他的朋友也依依不舍,不想離開他們故答案為C leave。
5.該題中考得分率為0.75,主要考查學(xué)生對(duì)詞語(yǔ)用法掌握情況,想要干某事:feel like+doing sth,答案為B。
6.該題是中考得分率最低的,僅為0.1,主要也是考查學(xué)生對(duì)詞語(yǔ)用法的掌握情況,該題所出現(xiàn)的mind,feeling和thought意思相近,mind有頭腦、愿望、心情等意思,feeing有感覺(jué),感情等意思,而thought有思想、想法等意思。根據(jù)前文作者:想跑進(jìn)校長(zhǎng)辦公室告訴他不想回家,而又通過(guò)“but”來(lái)反映作者的另一想法,故答案為D
thought。
7.該題得分率也較低,為0.45,主要考查學(xué)生的分析能力和推斷能力。四個(gè)選項(xiàng)均可用在be動(dòng)詞之后,很難得出結(jié)論。
根據(jù)下文I might have no time to see them again if I gave up thisplan,可判斷作者的父母年紀(jì)大了,如果放棄現(xiàn)在這個(gè)機(jī)會(huì),作者恐怕以后沒(méi)有時(shí)間,也沒(méi)有機(jī)會(huì)再見到他們了,故答案為A old。
8.該題中考得分率為0.8,主要也是考查學(xué)生對(duì)該文上下文理解能力。根據(jù)上文可看出作者沒(méi)有時(shí)間看望自己的父母,故答案為B time。
9.該題得分率也較低,為0.45,主要考查學(xué)生對(duì)詞義的掌握情況。在飛機(jī)場(chǎng),有許多教師和朋友來(lái)送行,答案為C see me off 送行。
10.該題得分率較高為0.9,朋友們來(lái)飛機(jī)場(chǎng)送行互相告別,答案為D good bye。
11.該題得分離為0.75,根據(jù)上文their eyes were filled with tears可判斷我的這些朋友們非常難過(guò),答案為A sad。
新頒中學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)大綱明確規(guī)定;中學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的目的是對(duì)學(xué)生進(jìn)行聽、說(shuō)、讀、寫的基本訓(xùn)練,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生在口頭和書面上初步運(yùn)用英語(yǔ)的能力,側(cè)重培養(yǎng)閱讀能力,為進(jìn)一步學(xué)習(xí)和運(yùn)用英語(yǔ)切實(shí)打好基礎(chǔ),而我們學(xué)生在做完形填空所暴露出的種種問(wèn)題,正好說(shuō)明了學(xué)生在運(yùn)用語(yǔ)言的能力較差,也正好說(shuō)明了我們教師在平時(shí)教學(xué)過(guò)程中所
存在的問(wèn)題。因此,我們?cè)谝院蟮慕虒W(xué)過(guò)程中應(yīng)多注意我們的教學(xué)方法,除了加強(qiáng)對(duì)學(xué)生語(yǔ)言基礎(chǔ)知識(shí)和語(yǔ)言基本技巧教學(xué)外,還要注重學(xué)生言語(yǔ)基本技能和學(xué)習(xí)能力的培養(yǎng)。
