一、邀請(qǐng)信及復(fù)信

(Letters of Invitations and Acknowledgments)邀請(qǐng)信包括宴會(huì)邀請(qǐng)、午餐和晚餐邀請(qǐng)、聚會(huì)邀請(qǐng)、舞會(huì)邀請(qǐng)、婚禮邀請(qǐng)等。邀請(qǐng)信分為兩種：一種是正規(guī)的格式（formal correspondence）,也叫做請(qǐng)柬；一種是非正規(guī)的格式（informal correspondence）, 也就是一般的邀請(qǐng)信。

邀請(qǐng)信雖然看起來(lái)不象請(qǐng)柬那樣正規(guī)、莊重，但是，也是很講究的。寫(xiě)好邀請(qǐng)信，需注意以下幾個(gè)問(wèn)題：

1.邀請(qǐng)信一定要寫(xiě)得明確、完整，不可給收信人留下任何疑問(wèn)。如: “ I’d like you and Tom to come to dinner next Wednesday.” 這樣的寫(xiě)法就不夠明確，需要加上具體的日期和時(shí)間。該句應(yīng)寫(xiě)成: “I’d like you and Tom to come to dinner on Wednesday, June 14, at seven o’clock.”

2.在歐美國(guó)家，夜晚的邀請(qǐng)，除了那些只允許男人參加的社交活動(dòng)之外，不論是正式的，還是非正式的，都應(yīng)該邀請(qǐng)夫妻雙方參加。3.別人對(duì)你的邀請(qǐng)是對(duì)你的尊重，因此，無(wú)論能否赴約，都應(yīng)該給與及時(shí)的、有禮貌的答復(fù)。

4.對(duì)于邀請(qǐng)信，在復(fù)信時(shí)應(yīng)該明確地說(shuō)明是接受邀請(qǐng), 還是不能接受邀請(qǐng)。不能使用模棱兩可的話。如: “ I’ll try my best to come.” “ I’ll come if I’m in town.” 等等，那樣會(huì)使邀請(qǐng)人感到十分不安，應(yīng)該明確說(shuō)明去還是不去，以便讓邀請(qǐng)人早做安排。

5.接受邀請(qǐng)時(shí)，在回信時(shí)要重復(fù)寫(xiě)上邀請(qǐng)信中的某些內(nèi)容，如: 幾 月幾日、星期幾、幾點(diǎn)鐘等等。不應(yīng)該這樣寫(xiě)：“ I’ll be delighted to attend your luncheon…”，而應(yīng)該寫(xiě)成： “ I’ll be delighted to attend your luncheon on Thursday, May tenth, at one o’clock.” 這樣寫(xiě)，可以糾正你或邀請(qǐng)人可能弄錯(cuò)了的日期和時(shí)間。
