Nowadays, the amount of museums accessible to the public free of charge is on the increase, which, apparently, benefits us a lot in many ways.To begin with, it provides a pretty good pastime for the public to spend their spare time as well as breathe the cultural air from arts or history no matter the rich or the poor, the young or the old.Consequently, the free admission to museums is a conductive measure to raise the public’s cultural qualitiesand, as for a further comment, contributes to the construction of a civilized society.Nevertheless, problems cannot be ignored when clapping for the free admission.With a crowd of people swarm into the museum, valuable cultural relics displayed may be damaged or destroyed consciously or unconsciously by the crowds, thus, a heavy financial burden caused by the maintenance and repairmen of the exhibitswill be lied on the museums without any profit from visitors.Weighing pros and cons, I’m totally in favor of the free admission considering its perfect combination of entertainment and education functions.However, it is high time that we attached great importance to the cultivation of the public’s awareness to protect our nation’s imperial culture heritage in which all of us take pride.
