Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen,Before the speech, I would like to share a famous experiment with you.Two big mice were put into one vessel which was filled with water.They began to struggle when they were aware of danger.But finally their lives just lasted 8 minutes.After that, another two joined the same experiment but this time a springboard was given to help them get out of water.Five days later, the two experienced big mice were put into the same experiment.A miracle came into being.Can you guess it? Without the spring board, they survived 24 minutes, three times as many as the first time.Have you found the difference between the two groups? Just one thing is that the latter has owned a kind of spiritual strength---hope.People can lose many things except hope.One animal with hope is more respectable than one person with hopelessness.Therefore, everyone should be to hope in the life.We should have our goals, dreams, and beliefs together with the endless hope.Hope is light;hope is dawn;hope is the rising sun.Hope endows us with courage, confidence and power.Please think about the Red Army men and the last group of people rescued during earthquakes.Why can they adhere to the end? Because they believed in hope.It is hope that nurtures persistence;it is hope that creates miracles one by one.Now, please look at this.What's this? I know all of you can give me a correct answer.Yes, it is a leaf.Have you ever thought more about it? Do you believe it can save a life? I am afraid most of you do not believe it.However, it really saved one young lady.The story happened in one of O.Henry's works.One patient was told that her disease was becoming more and more serious.So she lost heart to live.And she just lived commonly and hopelessly to await death together with a withered tree outside her window.Because she thought when the last leaf fell, her life would go to the end.But after a very long time, she found the last leaf was still green and fresh in the tree and she was also alive.Afterwards, she was told that the last leaf was just painted by a skilled painter on the window which was a gloss.At that time, she exceedingly regreted her foregone view.So ladies and gentlemen, please give a leaf to yourselves.With a piece of leaf at hand, you will find life glows with glory;With a gleam of hope in mind, you will find everything goes with smoothness.To hope, to smooth away all the difficulties, to take every obstacle in stride.You are a shinning star.Thank you very much!

first,confidence is a very important factor.confidence can bring us power of facing people.for example,intruduce yourself to strangers or new friends,talking and chatting with them.once you have confidence of yourself,you will be a very friendly person.second,you have to try to know a people when you first staring theireyes.you can see a people's style from their clothes,but you also can see what kind of person they are and what they usually do.for example,people who like to wear formal clothes usually have meetings with upper-class people,so they don't like those street styles and they don;t have many time to chat with you because they are busy about their work.once you have this skill,youwill know the kinds of person around you,and you will know how to talk to them and what to chat with them.last but not least,body language is also very important.when you talk to somebody,you don't want them sharing their attention to some other things,so when peope talking to you,you have to pay 100%attention to them to give them affection and respect.other body language such as the direction of people's feet,the position people stand or sit,the way they talk or eat,all can reflect their personality.although this is a very big subject,but make people fel good about you when thy first meet you is not so hard.you just have to be more onnfidence,more clever about dealing with different people,you will be able to make alot of friends and take a step closer to success!

Hello, my dear friends, it is my great honor to be here and give a speech.Today I want to talk about The East and the West, Let’s enjoy the combination of the two cultures?

Kipling said:“East is east, and west is west, and never the twain shall meet!” But now, a century later, they have met.They have met in business.They have met in education.They have met in the arts.Some people will argue that these meetings will leave us with a choice between east and west, but I believe that the best future lies in the creative combination of both worlds.We can make western ideas, customs and technology our own, and adapt them to our own use.We can enjoy the best of both worlds, because our tradition is, above all, one of selecting the best and making it our own.I love Beijing and Henan opera because it always reminds me of who I am.But I am also a fan of pop music, especially English songs.So I have combined eastern melody with western language.It is called western henna opera.When two cultures meet, there may be things in one culture, which do not fit into the tradition of the other.When this happens, we need to learn to understand and respect the customs of another culture.Then there are certain things some people may not like.To this, I will say, if you do not like it, please try to tolerate it.To learn to tolerate what you personally don’t like is a great virtue at a time when different cultures mix and merge.Before us, there are two rivers, eastern and western cultures.At present, they may run in different courses.But eventually, they will converge into the vast sea of human culture.Right now, I can see peoples of eastern and western cultures, standing side by side, singing the Olympic theme song: we are hand in hand, heart to heart, together we will shape a beautiful tomorrow!Thank you!

當兩種文化相結合的時候，也許一方的文化中的某些東西不適應另一方的傳統文化。當此種情況出現時，我們需要試著理解并接受另一種文化中的風俗習慣。然而，也許有些東西你并不喜歡，對于此，我可以說，如果你不喜歡它，請試著去容忍它。當兩種文化融合的時候，試著去容忍你個人不喜歡的東西是一種美德。在我們面前有兩條河流，東方文化和西方文化。現在，它們也許正朝著不同的方向流去。但是最終它們將匯合到人類文化的海洋里。

What we can not afford to lose—self-confidence

Good afternoon, dear judges, ladies and gentlemen.Today my topic is what we can not afford to lose--self-confidence.On the way to success, there are many things that we can not afford to lose.Such as good opportunities, right goals, diligence, help from others and maybe good luck, I think.But as for today’s topic , I think that self-confidence is something that we can never afford to lose.It means the firm belief that we can do well and is believed to be the first secret of success.There is a proverb that “Failure is the mother of success.” But today, I’d like to give you a new idea that self-confidence is also the mother of success.You may have the doubt that why I choose self-confidence as the most important thing.This is because I think self-confidence is something that we can get only after we conquer ourselves.We know that every man is his own worst enemy.So it’s much harder for many people to defeat themselves than others.This is just why self-confident people are so outstanding and have more possibilities of success.We can not afford to lose self-confidence.It is not only crucial to our normal people, but also means more to the

disabled.Many disabled people lose hope of life and they try their best to find self-confidence, so that they can regain the courage to live on and realize their life values.Chinese famous dancer, Tai li hua, is a deaf-mute.The Thousand-hand Bodhisattva performed by deaf-mute people in the 2005 Spring festival Gala shocked our Chinese and Tai li hua’s wonderful performance left a deep impression on the audience.She once said “I’m always full of confidence.” Of course as a deaf mute she has paid more efforts than those normal dancers and I think self-confidence is sure to be the magic weapon on her way to success.There is no doubt that self-confident people like challenges, and just because they dare to try, they get more.So my dear friends, if you have the goal to be the best one in your class, believe yourself.If you dream to study hard and make a difference to our country, believe yourself.If you have the great ambition to make a better world, just believe yourself.Of course to achieve these, self-confidence is not enough, but remember that it is the first step to motivate you to have a try.And once you try it, you may find that everything is possible.If you think you can, you can！

Man’s life is a process of growing up, actually I’m standing here is a growth.If a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up along with these choices.Once I hope I can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the future holds for(= what will happen to)me.

When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near future, all starts here.Following I will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job.

Once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist;never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” I will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process I will combine learning with doing.If I can achieve this “future”, I think that I really grow up.And I deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future.

How to say future? Maybe it’s a nice wish.Lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.
