stories and believed that he has found his pseudonym there.After Porter was

released from the prison in 1901, he changed his name to O.Henry and moved to

New York in 1902.From December 1903 to January 1906 o.Henry wrote a story

a week for the New York World magazine, and published several short stories in

other magazines.O.Henry's short stories are famous for their surprise endings, his wit, wordplay

and humor.He wrote such classic short stories as The Ransom of Red Chief, The

Gift of the Magi, The Furnished Room, The Four Billion, Cabbages and Kings,The Last Leaf, The Cop and the Anthem,etc.In his last years O.Henry had financial and health problems.An alcoholic, O.Henry died on June 5, 1910 in New York City, virtually broke.

?當人們真正想做的事，卻會遭到背叛。?這是我在讀《警察與贊美詩》時，所想到的一句話。

誠然，機會正在運行，它不僅是被動的，而且等著你來分析。分析；考慮到一系列瑣碎的事件，然后決定去做。也許它本身是一個轉瞬即逝的?精神?，這是我們的勇氣、智慧和靈魂的考驗。但這并不是說所有的事情都不是安全的，如果我們是如此微妙，與古代有什么差異？當然也要珍惜機會，抓住了機會，和?硬?，完全徹底地使用 ?硬?。如何更好的?完美?就是關鍵。

在這部電視劇的?結束意味著另一種‘開始 ’?。警察，只是例行公事，對于讀者，在生活中，只是一個小插曲。一個好的作家，情節，為贏得觀眾的尊重，但，蘇比，因為他是以前的?無知?的成果，因為他是不懂珍惜，他可能會將命運的?機會?，給放棄的結果。

每一次讀歐亨利先生的小說，終會為故事的曲折回蕩所折服，為世界的百態眾生而慨嘆。正如很多人所說的，如果把他的小說作為一場“戲劇”對編劇而言，是個絕佳的情節；對觀眾而言，算是對得起一張入場票。

小說來源現實，在讀者的眼中綻放，凸顯它刻畫的一切。先生通過短短的篇章，小小的故事，妙筆生花，在人們的心門上叩出無味人生。

有人說《警察與贊美詩》訴諸的是人生中的機遇問題。遇到卻不把握，是蠢材；不遇機遇卻懂得把握，是人才；既遇機遇又懂得把握，是天才。那么理所當然，索比上演了一個無知的不知悔過遭人唾棄的小丑，背負起那個時代下蕓蕓眾生相悖于正義和常理的渣滓。不值得同情。而贊美詩的結局便成了點睛般的反襯。當他驚恐地醒悟到自己已經墜入了深淵，墮落的歲月。可恥的欲念，悲觀失望，才窮智竭，動機卑鄙變原形畢露。

《警察和贊美詩》講的是流浪漢蘇比為了度過冬天，而想方設法進入監獄過冬，警察與贊美詩讀后感。但他始終未能如愿，總是發生各種情況使他進不了監獄，當他在教堂聽到有人在唱贊美詩時，他突然想要出新做人，當他正準備去找工作的時候，警察逮捕了他，法官判他到監獄服刑三個月。

小說中寫道：他可以去的地方多的是……可是對蘇比這種性格高傲的人來說，慈善的恩賜是行不通的。他沒有工作，更沒有生活經濟來源，而又不要別人的恩賜，我想一個人有他這樣的想法很好，很自立的想法，但也要分什么時候，在沒有自立能力的時候這種想法還是算了吧，就像一個剛破殼而出的小鳥，走道還不利索，就要展翅飛翔，那最終的結果必然是“假令風歇時下來，必然摔個大屁敦。”

所以蘇比這種人就是典型的“眼高手低”。

世界之大，無奇不有。現實生活中也不乏“蘇比”。我在網上看到一則新聞：說一個將近七旬的老太太，無兒無女，每月只靠低保金度日，自稱兩月沒吃肉了，竟拿著刀在火車站持刀公然搶劫。進監獄后，老太太面對記者的鏡頭很開心，說自己最近長了10斤稱。

這還不是個別案例，據說還有一位40多歲的人故意犯罪，就為免費治療他的腿傷。監獄何時成為收留所？這也說明，現今的社會體系中，老百姓生活質量大大提高，但實際上，窮人還是有的。當然，這并不是黨和政府的錯誤，哪個國家沒有幾個窮人，那美國還有貧民窟呢。但我想，政府應給對這類“蘇比”提供些幫助，比如多建些收容所，或幫他們找些工作。

轉回正題，《警察和贊美詩》也講了一個道理：機遇是不等人的，也許，當你錯過后，他還跟著你，但當你回頭后，它便離開了。
