也因此，你們千萬不要上了某些法學教科書的當，總覺得，或刻意尋找，社會或某個人欠了你什么，這里沒有起點公平，那里沒有結果公平。一不小心，你會把一生都用來挑剔抱怨了。生活從來就有許多偶然、意外，幸與不幸，以及許多你認為的不公平，無論是在事業上還是在情感上。但無論什么，都只能面對，那為什么不從容一些??人所謂的榮辱不驚？其實，你走進和畢業于北大法學院，雖不是純屬偶然，但也并非天經地義；其中就可能有一絲幸運，而你這一絲幸運的背后或許就有你的許多不知名同代人的失落、遺憾甚至不公平感。我當然不是在勸說你們聽天由命；你們一定不會。我想告訴你們的只是，憤懣和抱怨都是沙漠，山野叢莽間的杜鵑才會讓你懂得什么叫做怒放；當你抱怨時，你就是在毀滅你的當下，就正在失去創造和享受生活的這一刻。如果你看不清這一點，你就不會有幸福，也不配享受幸福。

我，以及北大法學院的老師們，都愛著你們；除了家人，也只可能首先愛你們。也許，在這個高歌人權和全球化的時代，我的這種情感、思想和表達都已經落伍，至少是不那么政治正確。但我并不因此慚愧和惶恐。作為生物的和社會的人，我們的感受、想象和愛其實都注定是地方性的、狹窄的，有時甚至是“自私”的。“孩子是自己的好”是老百姓的俗話，而我們都是些俗人。但別忘了，耶穌基督對其信徒的要求也不過是“愛你的鄰人”。我堅持

“老吾老，以及人之老，幼吾幼，以及人之幼”；這才是我們真正可以實踐地拓展我們的感受力、想象和關愛的實在出發點和可靠路徑。

首先愛你的親人，你的朋友，你的同胞，你的祖國；這其實不是一個要求，而更多是一個祝福----只有這里你才會發現你情感的歸宿；否則，能有誰真正分享你的成功，或分擔你的痛苦？
