一、英文求學(xué)申請信的格式和正文內(nèi)容 英文求學(xué)申請信與普通信函的格式一樣，包括信頭（寫信人的地址和寫信日期）、收信人的姓名和地址、稱呼、正文、結(jié)束語和簽名。

三、中國學(xué)生在寫英文求學(xué)申請信時應(yīng)注意的問題

1、行文技巧

中國學(xué)生的寫作重點往往不是提供個人資料，說明自己的基本情況，而是一味強調(diào)自己申請的原因和自己的需求。例如：

We lack the technology, we need it.China is carrying out reform……So we need his technology.這樣寫是不符合求學(xué)申請信的要求的。寫作時申請人應(yīng)把自己的實力、專長、特點等闡明清楚，以此來說服讀者，讓對方感到你值得他們?yōu)槟闾峁┻@次求學(xué)機會，要知道對方是不會因為你需要就為你提供求學(xué)機會的。

2、語言表達

在介紹個人情況時，為了引起讀者的重視，中國學(xué)生頻繁地使用形容詞最高級來評價自己。例如：

I am your best candidate and I had been granted an excellent pass.這種表達方式也是不可取的，對自己的評價應(yīng)本著實事求是的原則，充分說明自己的客觀情況，不要夸大其詞，過分標榜，要能使人閱后感到真實可信，否則只能適得其反。

另外，中國學(xué)生偏好以情感人，喜歡用一些私人化的非正式的表達方式。例如： I would be very happy and hope we will be able to keep in touch in the future.這種表達和申請信的正式問題是不相符的。寫作時語言表達應(yīng)該正式，譴詞造句要平實具體。

3、說服勸誘策略

求學(xué)申請信的目的在于是收信人了解申請人的要求和與此相關(guān)的情況，以便對方做出有利于申請人的決定，為了達到這一目的，一般采用自我推銷或自我評價策略（self-appraisal），而中國學(xué)生常常采用自我美化（self-glorification）、吹捧對方和自我貶低策略（self-degradation）

自我美化策略：申請人極力美化自己。例如：

I am a graduate in mining engineering having a shining academic record in my credit.I have been given admission in the graduate school, university of…,USA… 這種自我評價主觀性強，缺乏可信度。

吹捧對方策略：申請人極力吹捧對方學(xué)校或者其所屬國。例如：

I have secured first division marks(Grade B)in the said exam and on the above basis I intend to complete my further studies in the field of Medicine in My loving great country, USA.申請人的語氣過分熱情，對對方百般恭維，這樣反而給人留下不好的印象。自我貶低：申請人常常希望通過對其經(jīng)濟困難的描述來博得對方的同情。例如： I belong to a third world country…Due to this feeling of immense kindness and generosity of Americans both literally as well as practically, I a needy student is able to pen down this request for financial assistance in education.… the education abroad is very expensive and we cannot afford it… So, I request your honor to please support a poor student financially, so that he can become a bright mind for humanity…

申請人企圖以情感人，不是對對方百般恭維就是對自己妄自菲薄，這都不會給對方留下好印象。所以在寫申請信時，申請人在態(tài)度上應(yīng)坦誠真摯，不卑不亢，這樣才會起到積極的效果。

隨著教育改革與對外開放的不斷深入,我國涉外教育活動日趨活躍.自費出國留學(xué)的中介服務(wù)、中外合作辦學(xué)以及國際教育的積極開展,更豐富了社會對涉外教育的需求,為出國留學(xué)打開了便利之門.為達到出國留學(xué)的目的,首先在學(xué)校的選擇和聯(lián)系中如何寫好求學(xué)申請信至關(guān)重要.語言和文化背景的差異是中國學(xué)生申請國外大學(xué)的最大障礙.本文就求學(xué)申請信的具體要求提出一些參考意見.一、英文求學(xué)申請信的格式和正文內(nèi)容

英文求學(xué)申請信與普通信函的格式一樣,包括信頭(寫信人的地址和寫信日期)、收信人的姓名和地址、稱呼、正文、結(jié)束語和簽名.求學(xué)申請信是為了申請上某所學(xué)校而寫給該校招生辦公室或有關(guān)人員的信.中國學(xué)生申請到國外大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí),首先要與學(xué)校有關(guān)部門或人員聯(lián)系,索取入學(xué)申請表和有關(guān)資料,然后填好申請表并寄回學(xué)校.國外大學(xué)一般都要求申請人提供學(xué)歷證書(如畢業(yè)證和學(xué)位證書)和在校學(xué)習(xí)期間的成績單,成績單必須由申請人所在學(xué)校提供并直接寄往所申請的大學(xué).如果申請人沒有獲得國外大學(xué)的獎學(xué)金或其他經(jīng)濟資助,就要有經(jīng)濟擔(dān)保證明.求學(xué)申請信一般包括如下內(nèi)容:

正文部分一般可以從三個方面組織內(nèi)容:

1.用簡短的開場白明確陳述寫信的目的,即申請什么專業(yè)和學(xué)位,從何得知申請信息等;入學(xué)申請應(yīng)明確說明申請何類性質(zhì)或何種學(xué)位的課程,準備何時入學(xué)等;
